No obvious key dropoff. Office was closed at 930 am and had to knock on the door and ring the buzzer to get someone to come and get the key so we could check out.

Room reasonably clean but very outdated. Nothing else was available due to the Stampede in Medicine Hat.

Excellent place for a lower cost

This motel is an excellent place to stay when you don’t want to spring for one of the higher cost places. It may not be a fancy place, but it’s great for the price. The front desk staff member was always super friendly.

A little worn but serviceable and modestly priced. AC works fine on 32 afternoon and kept us cool all night. Beds and pillows were decent. Good working man's stay.

The bed Wayne slept in was broken!!
The TV was not working properly. It would play for 1 few minutes then cut out, restart and play for a few minutes more. This was continuous!!
The carpet is very dirty. Stains all over.
Air conditioning did not cool. No matter what setting I put it on, it blew the same air!!

Book the hotel online only to find out it has new owners so the booking didn’t work however the old owners still take your credit card information. Was a little sketchy. When we arrived there was one room available however it had no fridge, tv or coffee maker like stated and they were still charging full price.

Good bang for the buck

Great bang for the buck. Easy checkin, free parking on site. Room clean with all the basic amenities, good shower, wifi worked fine. Located right off of highway 1. Not much in the area (industrial) but there is a gas station with convenience store and a craft brewery within walking distance.

Front desk indicated it was open daily from 6 am - 12 am, we arrived at 11pm and it was closed. Had to wait for whoever was running it to get out of bed and give us a key to a room. The hotel booking also indicated we would receive continental breakfast with our booking. However, we did not receive any breakfast upon checking out early august when we were leaving the motel at approximately 9:00 am

Good no frills Motel

Ranchmen Motel is a no frills place to spend the night. It is outdated and in some respects needs upgrading and renovating. However it is comfortable with all that a person would need. It is my go to place when I am passing through Medicine Hat. The price is right when you book through Hotels.com.

Sitting on the toilet in room 122, I looked at the floor, where there was at least a dozen little bugs, scurrying around at the corner of the door. Not bed bugs, but just little bugs.

It was a lovely clean hotel except for a large dually truck that backed in right next to our room with a huge exhaust and in the morning he started the truck at 6:00 am and ran it for 30 mins and the exhaust came right into our room and I became instantly nauseous and we had to quickly pack and leave! I know this is no fault of the hotel, but maybe with large trucks they should not be able to park them backed into the rooms!

Don’t judge the book by its cover, they say and this is the case. When it may not be situated in the most appealing area, this family run motel is clean, safe and quiet. Breakfast is included so for what you are paying you can’t complain

Very good service. Nice breakfast room. Housekeeping lady found the ring my sister forgot by the sink and arranged to send it to her. Comfortable beds. Will return the next time I'm in Medicine Hat .

We called to say we were going to check in late due to a late flight, and we would up standing outside a locked door for ten minutes because there was no one at the front desk. Then we were shocked by an additional $15 in fees that were not listed on Expedia so I’m not sure who’s fault that was. The room was quite, but there was crud and loose change on the floor so it couldn’t have been vacuumed. Staff was friendly enough.

Overall for the price, this place was a goodnight to stay. The staff was friendly and the room was comfortable. Only downside was that this is an old motel, and you can easily tell from paint chiping off the bathroom walls and there was a weird noise all night long from pipes in the wall. But those are only small things when paying the price we did just for a night to sleep when traveling through.

Room was , good but there were a couple of nasty stains on the carpet, there was a large spider coccoon on the ceiling which was a bit nasty.

Terrible Inns!!! No Microwave in all rooms, No Fridge, Broken Screen Doors and No Airconditioned!!!! Not a Family Friendly to stay at Banff!!! If I can only rate this inns at ZERO, I will do it!! NEVER EVER COME BACK AGAIN in this terrible mouse house!!!!

Repairs are needed. wiring on ceiling unfinished. Carpet at room door was curling amd caused stumbling.
Door knob to room has a razor sharp edge that cut tip of my finger.
Steps at entrance to office have uneven surface and are unsightly.

The reviews were decent, so I booked. What happened? New ownership?
The office clerk was passive aggressive, the carpet was littered (chunky sand all over the floor, gum wrapper, etc), the door, light switches, walls and all surfaces were grimy. After using half my tub of Lysol wipes from the car (which quickly turned dark grey), I abandoned the task of trying to get the room manageably clean. For context: I'm a camper, not a germ-ophobe. At that point it was too late and I was too tired to check out, request a refund, and find another place to stay. At morning checkout, a group was smoking right in front of the continental breakfast room, out from which stepped a staff member who took my key. I didn't walk through the cigarette smoke to grab coffee and a muffin.

Staff were ok when checking in the woman was very knowledgeable. Room was ok the weather stripping under the door was partially ripped away which left a huge gap under the door. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

We were passing through on a snowmobile trip out west and arrived at 1 am. Staff were attentive and very friendly. Rooms are simple but clean comfortable and even a couple candy canes on the pillow case for the christmas season!. Would definitely stay there again on our next trip out west

Room was clean, but heat control was not working. Had to leave window open all night. Continental breakfast was very basic - not even any water / juice for kids. Also, the shower backed up quickly as the drain was semi clogged.

Comfortable stop on the way

We traveled from Regina to Calgary for a funeral. Having just been to a funeral in Regina, it was good to stop in this motel where it was quiet and easy to find. No hassles, quick check in, and all we needed at a very good price. Again on our return to Regina, we had the same experience. Thank you.
