The room was very dirty and unclean. It also smelled like smoke cigarettes. There were not enough towels and the bed was not clean. One of the beds had no blanket and the pillows were dirty.

I was given a room with a clogged toilet. I told the front desk when I went out for the day at 9:30 in the morning.

I returned at 2:30 in the afternoon and the toilet was still clogged. Apparently the maintenance man is not responding. And they tell me they can’t move me rooms as housekeeping is still working.

So, here I sit with a clogged toilet and no where to go. I have been coming here for years, and this is the worst I have yet experienced. It’s like the staff don’t care.

It was cheap and it should have been. I requested water glasses or coffee cups and was given a cardboard soup bowl and told they didn't have and glasses or cups. No coffee either. Our outer door didn't seal, actually allowing light and breeze through.

Place is dated. Needs to be significantly better looked after. Stained toilet. Rusted sink that had a hole it it. Clearly it was like that for a while. No towels were provided. Mini fridge was iced. Emply box of klenic was kindly provided. Two emply toilet rolls on of which still had the cardboard on it. The roll of toilet paper was sitting on top of the toilet.

The condition of the hotel rooms upon arrival was entirely unacceptable and far below any reasonable standard of cleanliness or habitability. The rooms were in an appalling state. As a direct result, my coaches and student athletes refused to stay at the property.

They immediately returned the room keys to the front desk and escalated the issue to the on-site manager. Despite being made fully aware of the situation, nothing beyond a verbal apology was offered and you failed to provide any meaningful resolution. This lack of action is unacceptable and very unprofessional for the hospitality industry.

Clean but no face clothes and no extra blanket on the bed or in the room. Toilet didn’t flush properly and had to wait extra 45 minutes for room to be cleaned when arrived. Continental breakfast was terrible.
Wouldn’t recommend this facility to anyone.

Whole place is run down and room was filthy. When we turned on the tap to sink and tub grains of dirt came out, we have pictures
We went to the desk and got our damage deposit back and left

Check in was 3pm when I showed up. Room wasn't ready, waited 25 min for cleaning. When entered, floor was dirty with grease spots, only one towel and no face cloth. Returned after 11pm, car lock would not function. Had long walk when tired (I'm old) down to reception and back for reprogramming. I've stayed here previously, always poorly maintained, snow and ice not cleared, in endless construction. Expected improvement but will not stay here again!

The front end staff was good. Never had the room i reserved. Had to switch to a different style of room. The beds are horrible one all the springs are shot in the middle of the bed. The other one was like a board. New Queen size bed mattresses are only 300 at Costco. There is no pool area to use. Pool is full of old furniture and air conditioning units. Was told pool is a summer thing but reveiews in summer sat the same thing. In the end all Ican say is you get what you paid for !! Its cheap but dont expect much!

Had issues with entrance pass cards. Once resolved main entrance door from outside would not fully open due ceiling air vent drooping from. Did bot try reusing this door as vent issue was not resolved. Had to request glass or cups for drinking coffee or tea. No bathroom towels in room had to request same. Response for requests considered to be quite satisfactory. Upon arrival clerk confirmed reservation, took security deposit gave us our door entrance pass Cards pointed direction of outside door. Not overly welcoming feeling. Bathroom toilet paper holder needs complete repair as non existent. Did not try hot tub as we did bring own towels. Did not use continental breakfast as room seemed set up for use as chair’s upside down no staff member around. Had a good sleep and left prior to check out time.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Pool, yeah right, it was filled with broken microwaves. Breakfast? Inedible. I'm not fussy but this shouldn't even be permitted as a hotel. Half the place is closed down and doors screwed shut. If there's a fire you're dead. Stay away!

The mattress/bed was broken, half the mattress was caved in and missing, we weee woke. Up at 2 am by someone banging on our door looking for their drug dealer. Both pools were closed even after we called the hotel ahead of time and were told they were open and running. There is garbage and junk and broken chairs and bed rails scattered everywhere. The only clean thing in our room was the bed. The floor had not been vacuumed for who knows how long. There was a used pair of socks behind a chair that were not ours. We had to buy Lysol cleaner to clean all the counters. There were no kitchen coffee supplies, glasses, coffee mugs etc. We asked for supplies which they brought. The cups were the little rinse cups that would cave in when filled with coffee. We bought coffee mugs and glasses.
I would not recommend staying at this facility.

This hotel was one of my worst experiences I’ve had. I ended up Leaving a day early cause It was such a poor experience.
There is no pool to use. The pool is empty and they filled it up with all there extra furniture and microwaves etc.
the breakfast bar was a joke. There was no cups or bowls or plates or utensils or anything to put food on. I had to go ask for a plate at the front desk. Nothing to drink except coffee but no cups. And no signs letting you know where to get any. They only had toast, fruit loops and a tiny bit of eggs but nothing to put it on.
All the hallways stunk of cigarettes and the carpets are stained and filthy.
I had to keep an eye on my car cause there were many homeless in and around the hotel looking inside peoples cars.
The rooms weren’t too bad but I didn’t have any shampoo and one set of towels for a four night stay. When I asked for shampoo they said they don’t have any. No one cleaned my room while I was there and no word as to why they didn’t do that.
Also the layout of the building is very complicated to get around.
I do not recommend this place to any families with kids. Very unsafe place to stay.

I'm not even daring to try the breakfast based on the conditions of everything else. Our first room smelled bad and had leftover belongings from other people. They "upgraded" us to a suite which only mean larger room but otherwise exactly the same. Pool is completely demolished and they don't advertise it anywhere. Halls ways fulla of stains floor to ceiling. Peeling, chipping, trash in the halls, dirty laundry in the halls. Only reason we didn't leave upon arrival is because I felt bad making my kids jump place to place finding an alternate solution.
Will never stay here again.

Most of the staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean upon arrival and I understand the place had been run down in the past but is under new management and it takes time for the renovations and upgrades to the facilities to be completed. The pricing was the most affordable in the entire city and they upgraded my single room upon arrival to a massive executive suite so I was able to bring my kids for a stay at the place. I will return in the future.

We arrrived to find that the pool was out of service, the ice machine was broken, the hallways smelled like mildew and smoke, the carpet was stained, and the wallpaper was torn and patched all throughout. Upon arriving to our room the faucet was rusted out, the bathroom tub continually peeked and the curtains were ripped. Breakfast in the morning was some old bread with flies on it, a bit of Froot Loops (no milk) and some packets of ketchup and butter. We would never stay here again. The place needs a serious overhaul.

Ok for one night stay.

Despite undergoing renovations, the room and bathroom was clean and beds were comfortable to sleep on. No TV service in the room. One staff member was friendly and greeted us wonderfully when we arrived. However the other staff member when going for breakfast was pretty much rude, wasn’t professional at all. The breakfast was a huge disappointment, dry and not warm, no coffee cups around or juice either.

Both myself and another patron, I met next morning at the breakfast bar, had to pay an ‘upgrade fee’ to have a ground floor room (there is no elevator to the 2nd floor). The ‘upgrade’ had a kitchenette, a large jetted tub and 2 queen beds which was very very nice

The major downside: the drapes didn’t fully close, they was one drapery panel missing, and the drapes were torn and ragged on the ends of the drapery rods. My unit faced the street and not being able to properly close the drapes was unsettling!

There was a fan blowing in my room when I checked in; I couldn’t turn it off, nor down (the other patron I spoke with couldn’t turn hers on in her unit).

The ‘breakfast included’ was sufficient but it was the poorest I’ve ever had. There was bread, a toaster, some hot scrambled eggs, and some sausages that didn’t appear to have been cooked (they were pastry white, not browned) and only luke warm. There were also 2 choices of cold cereal. Most breakfasts at hotels I’ve stayed at will have yogurt, muffins, and/or fruit

Having had foot surgery recently I wanted to elevate my legs in bed and decided the garbage can would be a good start for some height before adding pillows to raise my legs above the level of my heart. I took the garbage bag out of the kitchen garbage can and put it in the sink but then found the garbage can had a whole lot of drywall dust in it and so I couldn’t use it as I didn’t want all that dirt in the bed.

Paid for a King room. “Upgraded” to 2 Queens. Don’t fit well in queen size. Booked later evening was there within an hour showed late check in as reason room was gone. No towels, no housekeeping the next day so left and booked another hotel asking for a refund. Bait and switch. Terrible location with homeless. No pool amenities and no mention at time of booking. Stay away. Too many better places. Expedia should cut ties with this dive.

Don’t stay at the flamingo hotel..

Everything was filthy. It smelled terrible, every time I looked around I found somthing else dirty or messed up. Carpet in the room had ripples in it so one could trip on. Tv was all static, thermostat batteries were dead. Shut the fan off and it had the largest buildup of dust on the blades that I have ever seen. When I went back to get my deposit back that I was told to make sure I got back before I left the guy at the till was very rude and didn’t want to. He said I needed to wait till housekeeping checked over the room. After arguing with him he said he would check it. I went with him just in case he tried anything. When I pointed out how dirty everything was he basicly pushed me out of the hotel. I will never recommend this place to anyone. It was terrible.

We went there to have continental breakfast in the morning and we're very very disappointed.All they had was eggs and sausages,coffee,cereal.No fruits or muffins. I would not recommend this hotel in Medicine Hat as they don't really care about their customers. We found used towels in the washroom it obviously hadn't been cleaned up by any of the cleaning staff. No coffee maker in our room they had to hunt for one also there were no mugs for coffee

Breakfast was just sad. No juice in the dispenser, barely warm, dried out eggs and sausages (maybe that's why the microwave is there!) and had to get your plate, cutlery and coffee cup from the front desk. Room had a Keurig with two coffee pods but no cups or sugar, creamer, etc. No glasses in the room at all. The door to the room had a gap as the door bent inwards slightly towards the bottom. They are under renovation and I suspect it will take a long time before they are done.

When booking for a cheap price accommodation, I already be prepared and lowest my expectations. But, still really really disappointed for what I got: room is really dark and one of the lamp doesn’t work, bathroom is unclean, room is smell bad like sewage. People next to my room smoke right at front door. I couldn’t sleep because they talked so loud and kept slamming the door. I was so scared and worried about my car even it was park right in front and had to keep my ears up all night. End up with 3 hours sleep and walkup early to leave as soon as I can. Terrible experience ever! I just stopped by Medicine Hat for a night rest in the middle of a long drive from BC to SK, I would never expect this happened, If I didn’t book through third party site, I would definitely ask for refund. So, lesson learned: better pay more money somewhere else to get a safe place to stay.

Kinda a sketchy area. The upper entrance to the second floor is supposed to require a key for entry, but has been ripped open and no longer secure. Door to my room also was bent open at the bottom as if someone tried to pry it open. You get what you pay for. AC was cold, staff was nice and they do have security cameras.

Did not stay here. We checked in, went and took a look at the room and left shortly after. It was horrifying. Walking through the halls and leading up to the room, there was what looked like blood stains on walls and carpet. There was yellow tape around the pool area that looked like a crime scene. Our children were terrified with how creepy this hotel looked. Gave really creepy vibes. There were tenants who stay there long term (month to month), who came out of their suites to talk to us and made us feel really uncomfortable.

Hotel is older and needs updating. Outside garbage can was overflowing and garbage on ground by entrance. Staff was nice. Room was clean and bed was comfortable with nice bedding. Hallways had carpet in need of cleaning and/or replacement. Some hallways had an an odor. Unsure if a renovation has been started but the pool/hottub area is permantly closed housing room items. The breakfast area had cereals out but no milk. Some walls in hotel look to have water damage.

I picked the hotel based on location. It had a good restaurant in the lot adjacent and good parking. Check in staff were not super friendly, the grounds not very clean, narrow and dirty stairs to the room, breakfast substandard, the sink in my room blocked, a party in the room next to me with the door open and staff did nothing about this. I won’t stay here again.

We regret to book with Flamingo Hotel. The room was out dated, especially curtains and doors. The curtains couldn’t fully closed, an arm long gap between two draps. I reported to front desk. Two staff came to check and said to repair it the next day, but never happened for next two days. We used paper clips to tie draps together for 3-night stay.

Also, two queen beds only have one duvet. I asked receptionist, she said will send it over to our room, but for sure they totally forgot behind again. I had to ask again at night before going to sleep. They finally brought it over.

One of the duvets and bath towels were so disgusting with yellow stains and toilet bowl with dark spots.

Bathroom only has a small roll of toilet paper, I had to go to front desk to ask more.

The swimming pool and hot tub closed, looks like for a long time, but the hotel doesn’t have a word in their advertisement.

Overall, the services and facilities were so poor. If you have other choices, please do not book with this one!

I have no idea who greeted me as they didn't introduce themself. Firstly, he asked if I wanted to upgrade my room. I asked "what's the cost?" He said "$30." I said "No, thank you." He said "I will upgrade you anyway and if you don’t like it then you can move to your original room." I said "fine." I was too sore and tired to argue about it. No elevator. Second floor room halfway through the building. No secure door to enter building. Enter the room, two beds, two chairs and table sitting area, telephone (need to scan QR code for directory), microwave and small fridge. The armour for hanging clothes had an iron screwed to the inside and a full-size ironing board occupying the interior. Where to put it if one had clothes to hang? Two remotes; one for DVD Player that wasn’t there, the other for the TV. Surprisingly, there was a balcony too. Not clean nor sanitary. Neighbor's frosted window and air-conditioner shares the space. It is their only window too. The balcony becomes a pool when it rains, with its own waterfall. The water has nowhere to go. There was cigarette butts and garbage along the wall crevices. The glass railing wasn’t cleaned. For that matter, the main window of the room wasn’t cleaned either. The side window that opened up wasn't cleaned, sticky when opened and was unlocked. The beds: done up nicely, one with a quilt covering, the other with a flat sheet. The quilt bed had the fitted sheet inside out.

Pool was being used as a storage unit for appliances. Breakfast was dirty and lacklustre. It was unappetizing and a mess. Jacuzzi tub looked old and the rooms were very dated. Bedding was dirty. The whole place is in dire need of renovation. It’s a cheap hotel. I guess you get what you pay for.

The pool wasn’t working,no ice machine that worked. No face clothes, had to ask for more toilet paper. No remote for tv. Coffee machine but no coffee or fixers to go with it. It was very dirty in the halls,I wouldn’t stay here again

Dirty broken down motel, sour milk for continental breakfast plus no selection at breakfast , no blankets on bed just sheets and when we called for blankets they only brought 1 blanket for 2 beds so we had to crowd into 1 bed. The coffee was so weak it looked like tea.
The chick running the breakfast was stopping guests from taking yogurt because she said " it's for special guests" cereals all mixed non covered milk going sour. back of doors in room had greasy hand prints and Fawcett broken the entire place is in disrepair
a/c is not secured and rocks back and forth in wall keeping you awake.
The place seems in a constant state of renovations .
it's run by new canadians who aren't familiar with even a below average first world room and breakfast. The bedframe sticks out and you cut your shin on it.
My family has owned motels and this place is the worst. I've seen low end motels housing street people, refugees, and crack addicts kept better.
Expedia should distance itself from the flamingo in medicine hat.

Overall, it was okay.

The hotel itself is old. The owners seem like theyre trying to fix it up so i definitely extend grace in that. The biggest problem we had was navigating the hotel itself from the inside. The 200s are down past the 330 room, and the hotek is quitr a maze with signage that is outdated and unhelpful. The front desk and workers were helpful when we needed more toweks and blankets, but no one would answer the phones. For an overnight stay it was adequate but definitely needs to be updated and have some extensive repairs made.

Aside from the two nice guys at the check-in, this was genuinely one of the grossest places I have ever stated.

The whole place reeked of cigarettes and mold mixed with attempted air freshener, the stairwells genuinely made me wanna throw up.

I wish I could put a video on this because the breakfast was hilariously bad and on my second day reeked of sour milk, the whole room.

Just pretty dark disgusting, the shower drain was ripped out and the drain was clogged with other people’s hair. The bathroom floors were like a slip and slide how greasy they were just a really nasty place. I’d rather sleep in my car.

Although we arrived there in the middle of the night, the guy at the reception helped us tremendously and was cheerful in every way. We were very pleased. He is definitely a person who does his job well. The comfort and cleanliness of the room is also excellent. It is a comfortable place. It is magnificent in terms of price and performance.
