The room was alright. The staff was fairly cooperative especially because they had to reprogram my key a million times due to it being inactive every single time I went to get into my room. I was told it was due to my cell phone but that isn’t a real thing. lol so whatever they just continued to reprogram.

They had pre-charged my credit card before arrival as a “temporary hold”, then requested a deposit and the full room fees upon arrival on top of that (only reversed the temporary hold when I told her if she wanted me to pay upfront for everything else, I needed that reversed or I would not do such.) It was a complicated check in.

The hot breakfast was excellent, the room was clean and kept tidy as guests moved through. In the rooms, the tub had a significant drip and the coffee pod coffee maker did not work correctly. It would not pump out the water from the full reservoir. Brought these items to attention of management. They apologized for the inconvenience.

The hotel is unappealing and not well maintained on entering. Front desk staff was fine but not overly helpful. Bed and pillows were nice but room not very clean. The previous guest’s food was still in the ftidge. Bathroom tiny even for only 2 people. Breakfast room too small for size of hotel. There was someone tasked with looking after the breakfast room but we ran out of bowls, garbage was filthy and overflowing and no one seemed to care.

Our room was clean and comfortable, with a good selection of amenities, including Dove shampoo, conditioner, soap, and body wash. However, lotion was not provided. Ensure, you'll bring lotion. Suite with 2 QB, our non-smoking room, was a pleasant space. The fridge kept our drinks cool, and the microwave worked well. One thing to note is that the hotel does not provide water bottles, so guests will need to bring their own or purchase one for $3. The free breakfast was a highlight, with a variety of options including cereals, yogurt, fruit, muffins, bread, eggs, sausage, potatoes, coffee, and juice. The waffles were particularly delicious. In terms of location, the hotel is well-placed for visits to the hospital, McDonalds, Tim Hortons and gas stations-these are just about 3 min drive from the hotel and it's a short drive to Costco and downtown-about 9 min drive.

I would usually rate this place 4 out of 5 but after this previous trip i was really disappointed. I didn't get a room with 1 queen bed like i booked, got a room with 2 double beds instead. And when i arrived there was no hot water at all and when i went to shower in the morning before checking out there was nearly no hot water.

Pool closes early 9pm.
Room was clean, light bulbs burnt out though.
Night staff was great!
The day I was checking out they called me at 630am saying there was a complaint of a phone ringing. Which was not coming from my room, I did mention that to the front desk and the guy was rude and said it was.

Not much parking in front of hotel they blocked off the area by the doors. Many questions about my service dog and needed to see my official documents which I did not have with me. So I was charged for having a pet.A/C unit loud and would cut in and out which in turn kept waking me up.

The photos make this place look fancy. You have to navigate the entire parking lot to find the front entrance and there isn't an awning to park under. I got there and it was snowing. I would have been nice to get my gear out of the car with some protection. The wall paper in the hallways look like something out of a hospital in the 80's and even though they had signs on the exterior doors, they slammed until about 11:00 pm. The breakfast was a solid C+, typical home fries, powdered eggs and a waffle station. The location was convenient for the area that I was working, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Parking, loading and unloading luggage were hampered by poor design. It seems like the pool addition to the structure destroyed the drive-through drop-off design at the hotel entrance. The restaurant also seemed to have eliminated parking at the front of the hotel. The main parking area at the back of the hotel was very icy on the north side of the hotel and only safely accessible by driving around the east side. The west side access was unsafe due to a steep, icy approach that new arrivals would not be aware of, though signs were posted inside the hotel.
Breakfast was good but notably missing was any fruit - no apple, banana, orange, etc.
One choice of jam - strawberry.

The hotel is in dire need of upgrades and a deep clean at least. The 1st room we were put in was 28 degrees and we could not adjust the temperature as the dial was broken. The next room was filthy, walls were covered in marks and damaged and it smelled like sewage! The 3 rd room ended up being a suite as we asked about an updated room and that’s all they had.
My husband needed a handicap stall and one was taken and the other said no parking. No one offered a suggestion as to where else we could park.
The restaurant had no one in it, was dark and the carpet was filthy.
The desk staff was great and did her best to accommodate but we will not be back.

Let’s start with the fact that I’ve stayed at this property NUMEROUS times!!!! I’m in their system!!!

Check out time is 11 AM. At exactly 10 55, Hotel staff started banging on my door loudly. They would not stop. I opened the door at exactly 1059 am… Only to see some horrible little man pissed off that I had not left yet…even though checkout had not occurred yet!!!!!!’

Television did NOT WORK!!! Nor did the fireplace! This was their “upgraded suite”!

HORRIBLE PROPERTY!!!!!

NO APOLOGY!!!! No reward for staying at this property and being a loyal customer.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always like staying here, its not the fanciest of hotels but the rooms are clean and the hotel is typically pretty quiet.

I have noticed thier prices have gone up quite a bit which is unfortunate. I hope they do not loose to much business in making this change. I know for me on my next visit to The Hat i booked a room at the Days Inn for much cheaper than i could stay here

I have stayed at the hotel a number of times this past year and this stay was not the best. The bed was horrible, had a large dent in the mattress which made it extremely uncomfortable. Need to go to the chiropractor now.

The staff was friendly and welcoming and though the hotel is old, it's clean and well maintained. The gym room is small but it had enough equipment for a good, cardio workout.
The breakfast was terrible; no water, no fruit, and fake eggs and sausage. Our family travels a lot and we have stayed at less expensive hotels with a hot, healthy breakfast so we were very disappointed. Overall, the hotel is fine but I won't stay at it the next time we visit Medicine Hat.

No to both. Ckearly trying toclean up an old run down hotel with limited success. Paint in windows chipped and dirty, tiles in bathroom stained, mattress lumpy and uncomfortable. Sub par all around except for service which was good for room change and getting tv to work. Not for checkout. I definitely will not stay hete again even for the price.

When we got there the elevator was broken so we could not get the room we had booked. They did squish us into a room so we could stay the night. We were there with my parents who are in their 80’s. The Hotel was recommended by the hospital that my mom was having hip replacement surgery at in two days. The elevator was repaired and we did get our suite but it was very inconvenient and made it very difficult for my parents

We requested a wheelchair accessible room and confirmed via email. There was no room available when we got there. Given the managers email and they never replied back. The restaurant was old, not wheelchair accessible, and the furniture was torn and worn out. They didn’t know how to make a Caesar and only had one option for wine, which was stale. I do not recommend this hotel at all. Terrible service to meet our needs. We requested a refund and we were ignored completely. The breakfast was also stale hard muffins, yogurt, and coffee with stale cereal. Not worth wasting your time here. Pay a bit more and go somewhere better.
