Good value for money

Expectations were not too high due to price we paid but we were pleasantly surprised. Check in seamless, parking right outside our door, spacious enough with large shower room. Very comfortable bed and separate communal rooms for eating close by room if wanted. For price we paid it was all we needed for a one night journey break. Very satisfied. Just for info there is no kettle on room but drinks stations available. Also only one pillow but didn't ask for additional so not sure if that is available. No complAints personally.

Stated aircon but it didnt work and barely blew out air. The room was cool with two floors but we did find some dark black hairs around and the doormat wasn't clean. Quite a few dead flies in the room and on the aircon unit. The carpark had dog poo in multiple places on the parking areas, walk way and grass.

Cheap and cheerful. Good value for money at only a little over €42. Breakfast basic not expensive. Only 8 mins to town centre by car.
Chartres cathedral is, of course, stunning particularly for it’s stained glass. Vitrial also worth a visit-€7 entry

This chain offers consistently good basics: a comfortable bed and a hot shower. The rooms while compact are always clean and comfortable. The only thing you sacrifice if you are a tourist is they are not found in the tourist parts of town.

Room ok, hospitality dreadful. AVOID!

We arrived late at night and after some challenges in finding the correct hotel and gaining access, found the room to be adequate. The next morning the attendant at breakfast seemed surprised to find guests wanting to eat and reluctantly allowed me to do so.
The actual breakfast was GHASTLY, with the 'All you can eat' breakfast consisting of a very poor offering powdered egg, dry bacon, a few slices of bread, croissants, yoghurt and cereal, coupled with plates the size of saucers! The attendant was surly and watched every bit of food taken with a hawk's eye, more in keeping with rations at a concentration camp than a hotel with all you can eat breakfast. My partner took his own special dietary cereal from the room to the table in and regrettably made the mistake of using 100ml of the hotel's milk.
This seemed to trigger the attendant scouring the cctv cameras with little subtlety and proceed to call in the manager (?) who marched in like an army general, surveyed our table without so much as a smile or a greeting and poured over the cctv cameras.
When it came time to settle the bill, he insisted on charging the full breakfast price for my partner, despite him not having taken any hotel breakfast, because of the fact that he had used a bit of milk. The staff and their poor attitude ruined what would otherwise have been an acceptable stay and left a very bad taste in the mouth.
This has been the worst experience ever and poor hospitality advertisement for France!!

Clean, comfortable and convenient.

I always stay with Hotel B&Bs when I travel through France, I love the 24 hour check in so I can turn up late and still get into the room. I usually stay at Chartres, and prefer the Forum to le Coudray. Its not fancy but clean, quiet and comfortable. I like that I can park right in front of my room if I am on the ground floor. Dog friendly too. Area around the hotel is not fancy, just a retail park, but I am travelling through, not staying, although I do recommend the Cathedral if you are stopping longer. Much more convenient place to stay than in the city centre which is full of one way streets and barriers.

I will never stay again.

The room and bath room were so tiny and the two out of four room lights didn't work. There wasn't any bedside table or outlet on my side so I couldn't have my cell phone charged. (My husband used the desk top.)
I stayed the same chain hotel in different location, and it was much better than this one.

DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE

Did not know lobby closes at 8pm - check in is thru ATM...new process - slow, inconvenient, must have hotel confirmation number handy [not Expedia Confirmation Number]. Took almost 1 hour to check-in due to room being given away even though we had given our credit card number to hold. Lack of face to face staff a great disadvantage when language is a barrier. Eventually manager showed up [with cigarette in hand], and offered us TWO rooms for 4 persons at extra charge, instead of ONE room for 4 persons.

Rooms are basic but clean; small with only enough room to walk single file. Bathroom was small - half a bathtub size which makes turning inside shower or any movement challenging not to mention causing wetness outside shower area. Not for those with claustrophobia/disability issues.

Overnight stay while visiting the Chartres Fete de Lumieres (Festival of Light) which was stunning. Comfortable basic room on the first floor but a little tight on space. Breakfast was also good value and well stocked. Would stay at B&B again if travelling with family and kids.

Very basic – family room unsuitable for small kids

Very small room – clean but very basic. Kids' beds were located on a mezzanine over the bathroom which was accessible via an extremely steep staircase. A sticker on the gate at the top stated that it was not suitable for use by children under 6 but my booking was for two children aged 3. Clearly, this warning is not being passed on to the booking agent/Hotels.com. In the end, my partner had to sleep up there on a small bed while the kids and I shared the double bed. No ideal but manageable for one night.

Nice hotel - good value for money

We stopped here on our way back to south of France. It was ideal location and there were plenty of places to eat nearby. Think Chartres city center would not be too far way too. Hotel staff were very helpful as my husband had broken his foot and they arranged a room on the ground floor with parking right outside the room. Much appreciated.

Normally stay at the newer B&B next door but booked into this by mistake. Great mistake! Bigger bathroom and better rooms as it has been redecorated recently. Room was warm and comfortable on arrival.
Excellent friendly service from the setpin manager on arrival and at breakfast which was better value than most 3star hotels.

Depressing Rooms

We stopped here on route in France and booked 3 rooms, the hotel was in a good area with some fast food outlets and supermarkets within easy walking distance. There was also off road secure parking, however checkin closed early, the hotel was more a motel, the rooms were very dark and depressing and needed refurbishment.

B&B booked through expedia

We have passed by many B&B hotels while travelling through France, but this is the first time we booked through Expedia. When we arrived we found two separate B&B establishments! When going to the first one which had access to the rooms through a single entrance, we were directed to the other one which accepted the Expedia bookings. This one had external access to the rooms direct from the car park. It seemed to be an earlier/older building with fewer facilities. So be aware when booking which type you want.
The room was spacious compared with other cheaper motels with better bathroom facilities. However the breakfast was more expensive and the eating area was quite small, so we did not book it. There was an Aldi (and other fast food establishments) directly opposite !
Finding the B&B was relatively easy, but with many such establishments not in the central area of town.
It represented reasonable value for money though nothing outstanding, as the whole building had seen better days.

Good for a Night!

This hotel is virtually self-serve.... good for us as we arrived at about 3pm.
The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable.
There was a restaurant and McDonalds close by.... but we drove back into Chartres for a special meal near the Cathedral.

Staff and hotel very good and convenient. Unfortunately, disturbed sleep due to another hotel guest who was shouting from the car park to family on 2nd floor in the early hours of the morning and lasted for quite a while! I think management may have had to intervene.

Needed an overnight stop with no frills. The welcome by concierge / receptionist was warm and helpfull. Requested an extra pillow (l'oreiller he told us) which was provided (apparently french like one pillow but brits like two !). Just opposite was a german supermarket and next door there ws a steak house restaurant giving good value. It was cold outside (6C felt like 1C) and the room took some time to warm up. Breakfast of coffee / teas croissants cereal scrambled egg (aneamic looking bacon) toast and selection of jams was great value. Swiss basketball team (including two Americans) provided colour and fun at breakfast.

Tres desagreable. De prevenir a lavance d'une arrivée tardive. Et se retrouver a 6h00 du matin sous la oluie avec un code a taper sur une bor e qui ne fonctionne pas et attendre 35 min a linterpho e que quelqu'un daigne vous repindre pour communiqué un code a 6 chiffres qui aurai pu mettre envoyé plus tôt.
2heures de sommeil plus tard. 9h je prends en suppléments 2 petits dejeuner sans mots d'excuses du désagréments ee la nuit et la pur cloturer la blague une fois payé. Au moment de me servir on me dis . Qu'il ny a plus de bacon. Plus d'oeufs brouillés et plus de pain.
La base aurai ete de me prevenir. Enfin cest comme ca. .. .

Nous avions reçu un mail avec un numéro de réservation à utiliser en cas d’arrivée tardive. En arrivant, la borne était hors service… Sur la porte, un mot indiquait d’aller à l’hôtel d’à côté. À quoi sert alors ce numéro reçu par mail, si ce n’est à créer de la confusion ?

À la réception de l’hôtel voisin, la réceptionniste a reconnu avoir commis une erreur sur notre réservation (qui était déjà prépayée via Hôtels.com). Résultat : nous avons dû repayer la chambre sur place. Elle nous a simplement dit que « Hôtels.com devrait nous rembourser ». Normalement ça se passe comme ça … Ce n’est pas normal : c’est à l’hôtel de gérer son erreur avec le site, pas au client de devoir faire les démarches.

Le petit déjeuner a été une nouvelle déception. Arrivés à 8h40, il n’y avait plus qu’un seul choix de thé, quand on fait demande un thé à la menthe par exemple, on nous propose un tilleul menthe ! les fruits proposés étaient uniquement quelques pommes très abîmées au fond d’un panier, et pas d’autre alternative. Elle nous a dit il y en a plus quand on a fait remarque. Est ce normal? Plus de bacon non plus… on ne l’a pas souligné pour ne pas avoir 3 refus. À ce prix, ce n’est pas acceptable.

Nous avons séjourné à l’hôtel ACE situé juste à côté : bien meilleur accueil, confort et service. Ici, nous ne reviendrons pas.

L'arrière de l'hôtel donne sur une voix ferrée ainsi que sur les locaux des éboueurs. De plus les chambres sont mal isolées. Très bruyant!

Nous avons réservé cet hôtel par ce que le paiement était possible sur place et que l'hôtel acceptait les chèques vacances.
Arrivé sur place, notre carte bancaire était déjà débitée. \"Cela est fait automatiquement à 17h\" alors que la réception ouvre à 17h! Il est donc impossible de régler sur place. L'annonce est mensongère. Ce budget nous aurait été bien utile pour le reste de nos vacances.

Bien pour une nuit de passage. Je n'ai vu personne à la réception de cette hôtel à mon arrivée à 14h et obligée de retirer ma réservation à la borne automatique. Petit bémol, il faut sortir de l'hôtel pour aller prendre le petit dej dans l'autre hôtel B&B à 50 mètres ! Pas très pratique !

odeur dans chambre car toilette utilisé sans tirer la chasse , vrombissements plusieurs fois dans la nuit , énormément de bruit dés 6h du matin : clientèle qui ne respecte pas le sommeil des autres et le pompom : la dame au petit déjeuner qui m'agresse verbalement au motif que je n'utilisai pas la pince pour prendre du pain ........pince qui n'existait pas , par contre le nettoyage des tables aux abonnés absent et la vaisselle juste rinçée , difficile de laver avec le portable dans une main , cette personne n'a rien à faire au contact de la clientéle

Hôtel propre dans l'ensemble et personnel accueillant, par contre chambre très petite, la chambre était cotée route et on entendait comme si la fenêtre était ouverte.
De plus le lit se résume à deux planches cote cote et donc les planches frotte l’une contre l’autre créent un craquement dès que l’on bouge dans le lit, pas top pour dormir.

une nuit très chaude et orageuse a 4 dans une chambre(47) et la clim en panne.....
nous avons dormis la porte ouverte ... et donc été importuné par le bruit des autres clients de l;hôtel (passage devant la porte et claquage des portes des chambres)
très mauvaise nuit !

Sur l a façade de l'hôtel, un gd panneau spécifie: HOTEL RENOVE, mais quand?????
Le sol des escaliers est très abimé, quand à la douche de la chambre, elle date d'un autre temps......
