Wi-Fi did not work most of the night and day. They claimed repairs were being done. But for over a week. At the end there was no electricity or even water. Therefore not sanitary. The staff was very sweet. It was fairly close to beautiful Playa Mahajual. The faulty, usually non-existent Wi-Fi prevented me from getting necessary work done. The breakfasts were good. The hotel is set in a beautiful oasis with Palm trees and a welcoming pool. Both the staff and guests were a pleasure to know. These issues can be resolved so as to make Hotel Mahajal a great hotel.

I got a 2 bed room for my dad & I, my bed had a stained sheet which I requested to be changed. The towels didn’t seem to clean either. We checked in really late at night and the staff at that time were great. The staff in the day had no attention to customer service and had a dry and almost angry attitude. This brought down my dad’s mood, luckily we only booked one night and left as soon as it was check out time. The information on Expedia does not match what staff say..
The address is not exactly correct. It’s off by a couple feet. The pool is not 24hrs. And check out is at 2pm. The “included” breakfast is just fruit or yogurt. Nothing like a traditional breakfast. The property is great but all things mentioned just dilute the whole experience. Would not return!

The room was clean and in good condition but it needs upgrades, better curtains for the bathroom , closet to be able to put your clothes in . Or a phone in room for service. The staff were terrific. The staff were very attentive. Very polite very well mannered. In respect to their service. They were terrific . The pool good and the food was great!!!😊 I was very very disappointed when they have no transportation. There shuttle bus is not workable. So they do not have transportation that picks you up at the airport. I saw a shuttle bus that has not been used in months it had leaflets over it and two flat tires.

I booked the room but i couldn't make it but i canceled the reservation before twenty four hours, and they say once they take your money they stole it it turns out hotels. Com they promise no charges until arriving but that's not the case don't book anything until you are there 600$ dollars stole, and they laughed about it

Hotel Majahual Resort was one of the most peaceful and pleasant places I stayed in El Salvador. From the moment I arrived, I felt safe, relaxed, and genuinely welcomed.

The location is beautiful, close to the ocean, and perfect for slowing down and enjoying nature. The atmosphere of the resort is calm and quiet, ideal if you’re looking to disconnect from stress and noise. Everything feels simple, clean, and well cared for.

The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. Even with limited Spanish, communication was never a problem — they were patient, smiling, and always willing to help with anything I needed.

What impressed me most was how safe I felt. I honestly felt so comfortable that I didn’t even lock my door at night. That says a lot about both the resort and the area.

If you’re looking for a place that offers simplicity, tranquility, and a truly local experience near the beach, I highly recommend Hotel Majahual Resort. I would absolutely stay here again.

Hotel needs updating. Room spacious and clean. Wifi not that great cuts out the further away you are from main hub. Smart tv available but you need your own accounts to be able to watch anything. No cable provided. Included Breakfast simple but good. It wa a good for the one night. Beds comfy.

The room was big, and clean, the breakfast was fruit, yogurt or pancakes. You have to leave the key for them to make the cleaning of the room. And they have day pass, so the pool will be full by people that aren’t staying there. If you want to go to Tunco is very close.

Don't stay here. Especially if you are not fluent in Spanish. There was very little communication about how the resort worked and the restaurant service was abysmal. For dinner one night, my server rang in my order and disappeared. I heard the food bell ring many times so I just picked up the food myself. A guest grabbing their own food from the kitchen? Awful! Plus, the next morning, I ordered breakfast & coffee and they forgot my coffee. I did not have an offer of a daily cleaning on my room. Nobody told me anything about what was offered in the nearby area. I didn't know the hours of the restaurant or when the large front gate closed (some others got locked out of the resort). Also, there were a ton of tiny little bugs in the shower. They looked like ants but smaller. And all were crawling up to the ceiling. Would not recommend this place - absolutely awful service.

A truly special stay at El Majahual Resort!
I had an amazing stay at El Majahual Resort, perfectly located between El Tunco and La Libertad. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely at home, they treated us like family and were a joy to talk with. Hearing their stories about how life has changed in El Salvador was inspiring and added so much depth to our visit.
The property is beautiful and relaxing, with a nice pool, a well-kept garden, and plenty of coconut trees, they even make fresh coconut drinks right on-site! Our room was spacious, spotless, and comfortable, with great amenities like A/C, a large shower, and a flat-screen TV.
The food was delicious, parking was easy and secure, and service was available 24/7. The only small suggestion I’d make is adding a few more signs to make the hotel easier to find.
Overall, this place offers genuine hospitality, comfort, and true Salvadoran warmth. I can’t wait to come back! 🌴

The staff was nice. If they want to attract people from the US. They at least need a blanket, not using a pillow made for a couch, and have at least warm water. The place overall felt dirty, the floors were dirty.
Secondly, they lock the doors at 5. And when we didnt get abck before 5 you get locked out so it took forever to get in contact with someone to let us in.

Our first stop for our annual El Salvador trip. We arrived later than usual but enjoyed getting in to rest for our scheduled adventures. We enjoyed our stay and was glad it wasn't too crowded.

The hotel was rundown and is in shanty part of town. The beach is not the best and was very busy for Semana Santa. The food we ordered from the restaurant was pretty good. The cleaning staff tried to charge us for dirty towels which were just dirty from the black sand from the beach. Overpriced.

I had to sign a paper that they weren’t responsible for anything stolen or loss but the doors and windows didn’t lock, couldn’t pay with credit card because machine didn’t work so thankfully I had cash. The staff was nice and gave us a different room with locks, very nice pool and close to the beach

El hotel está a 100 metros de una playa genialmente bella, arena muy fina y está muy limpia, el agua calma. Está rodeado de un pueblo es interesante que te despierten los gallos en la madrugada, el pueblo tiene aspecto limpio pero deben mejorar el tratamiento de las aguas grises.
El hotel bien cuidado, la piscina limpia al aire libre, con covertores de sol, hay mucho sol y el desayuno muy rico.
Llegas fácilmente a Sunset Park (8 minutos) y ellos te abren el parqueo para ingresar ya tarde en la noche.
Hay ventas de cosas y ropa para playa a precios accesible.
