The apartment was clean. I was nervous due to reading other reviews. But we were happy. I know they said bedding would be changed once a week and towels were twice, which was fine. But they're was no cleaning, ie bathroom, mopping floors. We always go on self catering holidays. So disappointed. It was as if we had booked an Eir B&B. Reception staff were friendly & helpful.

Appartement bien conçu et correctement équipé ( climatisation, lave linge, télé…..).
Résidence très verdoyante et très bien entretenue, calme dans son ensemble.
Très belle piscine commune ( les bains de soleil sont payants : 3€/jour par personne).

Ottima comunicazione con la struttura amche via whatsapp, ottima posizione vicino il mare ma gli appartamenti becessitano di piccoli lavori di rifiniture essendo un po datati come si può notare dagli infissi. La pulizia è fatta in maniera molto generale, in alcuni angoli e dietro il letto c'è qualche ragnatela inoltre a terra ogni tanto si notano diversi vermetti...

Great stay at son bou gardens as usual perfect for a quiet getaway staff friendly and helpful our apartment looked like they’ve been modernised since we last came pre covid and they were working on other whilst we were there €5 charge for beds at he gondola pool is the only let down but we used the son bou restaurant pool in zone 3 where it’s €3 but you get that back if you buy food and the fish & chips in there is amazing as are the staff especially Lucy the owner also being a Leicester city fan like me lol already looking for next year. The apartment was basic but adequate and clean. It was in a lovely area, a short walk to many restaurants, bars, shops and beach. Staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay 😀

You get what you pay for

Pros

- No doubt this is good value in the sense that you can sleep 5 people (4 singles and a “sofa bed”) for a reasonable price. The sofa bed was not really a bed.
- The exterior and the grounds looked nice and were well kept
- You could use the pool for free, although we were told at check in “not to stay there all day”...
- Satellite TV

Cons
- The interior of the apartment was old and tired. I’d estimate that the apartment was last updated in the 80s. The floors and surfaces were not well cleaned and though we stayed for a week, there was no cleaning service for that length of stay.
- Though there was a kitchen with toaster and oven, when we tried to use them, the fire alarm would go off, probably due to accumulated oil and dust on the elements
- The towels were only changed once
- Though we could use the pool, you did have to pay for sun beds. It’s only a few of euros per bed per day, but people ended up just setting up on the floor. The pool can get pretty packed.
- It’s about a 20 minute walk to the beach... not too bad, but there’s no shade all the way there, so be prepared.
- Due to COVID-19 there were fewer people than usual when we were there, but nevertheless there were large herds of children who would roam around without supervision and could be quite loud even past midnight, just outside our bedroom window

Conclusion: basic accommodation for a budget price

2nd stay here. Love the quiet serenity of the place. Apartments set in beautiful gardens well maintained. Many privately owned. 3 pools 3 zones 3 restaurants on complex with shops/bars etc 5 mins walk into Son Bou. very quiet in May when we were there but that is how we like it. Some days had the whole pool to ourselves. Love it here. Rooms basic rustic style but not a problem for us. Many privately owned. Would love to live here!! Car advisable if you want to explore this beautiful island. Sorry photos will not upload tried 3 times on my mobile.

Local area very nice with plenty of choice for meals.

Happy overall and we would repeat

Lovely resort with good swimming pool and restaurant for a quick lunch. Particulary one of the swimming pools with Grass around. Checkin was very slow due to the lack of communicaton between hotels.com and the resort. They did not have my booking confirmation where the discount was visible and I spent half an hour to find it and email them. That should be improved as check in ahould be quick.
Apartment was located in a nice area near pool, restaurant and bakery. Happy that bathroom was newer than expected as I know these apartments can have a very old one. Kitgen appliances and furniture need a refresher and maybe change it for something a bit better.
Beds are a bit uncomfortable as after few days we could feel a hole in our mattress, so we turned the sides and it was a bit better. It would great to have washing machine, at least a sharp knife to cut meats, etc. There is only one for bread.
All my comments is to provide conatructive feedback and help to manage this better, we were very happy overall and we would go back as kids loved it, t is very quiet and very good location to visit calas around the island.
We did not missed aircon as fans on the ceiling are ok if you also keep blind windows closed to avoid mosquitos.

Some much better than advertised. Great break

The apartment was great, better than advertised and therefore expected. I would recommend Son Bou highly. There are a couple of niggles the main one to be aware of is the rental charge for the sun beds. But that is a small niggle. The pools are really good. Do let that put you off. Hire the beds and relax. On the plus side the rental charge meant that the pool wasn’t to busy. So that’s a silver lining.

Basic apartments - not good value for a couple

Basic apartments that increased in price quite a lot over the past six years.
Unfortunately you do not have a choice which apartment in what complex you like to stay - you get what you're given. They now come with dishwasher and wash machine as well as TV - unfortunately this has only Spanish channels. The mattresses and the sofa uncomfortable, cheap plastic chairs on the balcony. Not much to do on rainy days.
The complex is nice and very well kept. Son Bou is a fantastic beach resort and Menorca a great island.

Basic accommodation but clean. No air con and rather dated facilities. Good size apartment, could be easily brought up to date, you get what you pay for. 5 minute walk to local town and beach. Evening entertainment good and choice of 3 pools. Table service at restaurants can be very slow and take an hour to get service at busy periods at Gondola bar and San Jaime bar, seems understaffed.

Lovely stay at Son Bou Gardens

Lovely stay st son bou gardens based in zone 3 which is probably the best location, apartment was clean and comfortable including all the essentials for a self catering holiday. Great view also so would recommend a upper floor apartment. Close by to the pools, onsite supermarket, amazing bakery, and short stroll into the resort.

Decent complex let down by poor quality apartments

The reviews for Son Bou are over exaggerated. It's a decent complex with well cared for gardens and a good range of pools but badly let down in our case by a very poor quality apartment. Poor quality beds, furniture, no air conditioning and generally a feeling of under investment by the owners. Probably because the apartment was actually up for sale which we found out when we went in! The apartment wasn't that clean and not particularly well equipped. In this day and age you do expect more for your money despite the two/three star ratings. If just a bit of investment was made it would make a huge difference to the overall holiday experience.

Gorgeous apartments

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Son Bou. The apartment was lovely, very clean and well-equipped. The staff were welcoming and were able to answer all questions and queries. Each room had a ceiling fan which was a lovely surprise. Whilst the apartment was clean, and we received one towel change over our 7 day stay, we were disappointed that our sheets were not changed. We had access to both the pool at son Bou gardens and the pool at San Jaime, both of which were clean and nice to use. It was disappointing that sun loungers were €2.50 each, we chose to use beach mats instead. Overall we had a lovely stay at Son Bou Gardens, I would highly recommend.

Praktisch, aber....

Der Ort ist sehr praktisch, um Ausflüge zu unternehmen und den Pool zu nutzen, wenn Sie am Nachmittag ankommen. Aber es gab einen kaputten Türrahmen, bei Regen sickerte Wasser durch die alten Fenster in die Zimmer, aus der Toilette lief Wasser aus und auch die Wasserhähne in Dusche und Badewanne funktionierten nicht richtig. Es ist seltsam in einem Land, das immer mehr zur Wüste wird und in dem Wasser so dringend benötigt wird, dass es aufgrund mangelnder Wartung der Anlagen so verschwendet wird.

Estuvimos 5 noches mi mujer y yo, un buen sitio para alojarse en Menorca, por la tranquilidad y la buena comunicacion que tiene con toda la isla de Menorca, el apartamento no estaba mal, le faltaban algunas cosas basicas, y no tiene limpieza y las camas no son muy comodas la verdad, por lo demas bien, por lo menos en Junio, no se como sera en meses con mas gente, pero lo pasamos bien y el sitio y las playas de san bou estaban muy bien.

Appartamento molto grande, due camere da letto piccole ma confortevoli . Bagno molto bello e box doccia spazioso . Cucina ben fornita e patio esterno molto carino . Piscina proprio di fronte al l’appartamento. L’unica pecca è stata quella di non portare via la spazzatura degli ospiti precedenti. Il sacco con la spazzatura e quello con le lenzuola sono rimasti 3 giorni davanti all’ingresso .

The reception a bit too far away from my apt . Rather dated interiors and a sofa-cama in the living room that looked absolutely disgusting, l would never sit on it! A bit rediculous to have to check out at 10 o'clock and you HAVE to go to the reception(15 min walk) just to leave the key, seems very yesterday!
Anyways, the place is in a wonderful location the gardens and views fantastic. The proximity to the wonderful beach of Son Bou simply great. With just a little update of the interiors change of check-out pilicy this would be perfect!

Ausflüge in alle Richtungen möglich
wunderbarer Strand in der Nähe
o ruhig (der Hahn am Morgen hat uns weniger gestört, manchmal hat man die Arbeiter beim Renovieren der oberen Wohnung sehr gut gehört, sogar nach 22.00 Uhr...)
o Ofen, Toaster, 1 Lampe... haben nicht funktioniert (wir haben nur den Ofen gemeldet, der wurde innerhalb eines Tages repariert)
- die Strasse war mehrmals gesperrt (Belagsarbeiten...)
- wir haben die Reception über 1 Stunde am Ankunftstag gesucht :-(

Allgemein: Uns hat es wirklich sehr gut gefallen. Wir haben das Frühstücken auf dem Vorplatz, die Wärme am Tag... sehr genossen. Danke.

séjour du 18 05 au 1 06 22 L'appartement était formidable avec vue sur la mer, ses équipements, cuisine, machine à laver très propre et un personnel formidable. Beaucoup de commerces pour faire des courses.La plage de Son Bou est magnifique, pour les marcheurs, beaucoup de randonnées à faire. un service de bus pas cher pour aller à Mahon. Pour ma part je suis enchanté et je reviendrai .

Bémol pour les deux piscines plutôt basiques, sur le lieu de vacances qui appartiennent à des restaurants et qui sont donc payante 3€ par personne. Information qui n'était pas mentionnée dans le descriptif.
Emplacement idéal, proche commerces et plage. Propreté de l'appartement juste correcte, literie et mobilier vieillissants.

Pessima organizzazione e pessimo alloggio. Nessuna assistenza al nostro arrivo. La ricerca della abitazione è stata una autentica caccia al tesoro, guidati al telefono da una persona della Menorcarental. Fortunatamente mia moglie parla un minimo di spagnolo, altrimenti sarebbe stato problematico. Mi dispiace ma la situazione della pandemia non è una scusante per chiudere una reception!!!!!!! Passiamo all’alloggio che è vetusto e mal manutenuto!!!! Porte cigolanti, scarichi water non funzionanti, per non parlare del cattivo odore emanato dal camino. Infine, in venti giorni di soggiorno un solo cambio biancheria ed una sola pulizia locale. Per fortuna Il mare di Minorca ci ha ripagato di tutti i disagi!!!!!!

Appartement très bien situé et très agréable

J’ai passé une semaine dans un appartement avec ma fille de 4 ans. La période du COVID a fait que la résidence été quasiment vide donc très agréable et très calme. La piscine est idéale pour les enfants. La résidence est bien située pour découvrir l’île et la plage accessible à pied est parfaite pour les petits. Très bon séjour.

Le parti comuni della struttura sono curatissimi, i giardini e i vialetti sono uno spettacolo. Nei pressi della struttura ci sono supermercati e ristoranti per tutti i gusti e la spiaggia, a meno di 10 minuti di passeggiata, é uno spettacolo. L'unica nota negativa è l'aria condizionata mancante. O meglio, il condizionatore c'era nell'appartamento ma alla reception ci hanno comunicato che il proprietario non la metteva a disposizione. Nelle stanze avevamo i ventilatori ma per le prime notti di agosto, abbiamo patito un po' il caldo di notte.

Il contesto è molto bello in generale, l'appartamento, seppur un arredo un po' vecchiotti, aveva tutto ciò che serviva (lavatrice, pentole)

Ci tornerei.
