- given 200,000vnd credit as an Expedia customer to use at rooftop restaurant. Was not told about the service charge so my drink and tiny snack plate cost more than the voucher! Service up there was also slow and table was not cleared even after 10 minutes of waiting.
- another guest (teenager) peed all over the pool floor area whilst I was there. Disgusting. Not the hotel’s fault but I informed them promptly and told them it was a biohazard. Hour later I returned to see if they had closed or cleaned the pool. Still stunk of wee and to my knowledge had not been closed off to guests.
- the bathroom space in the room is really awkward. No space for cosmetics by the sink and bath also doesn’t have any space to put your shampoo, conditioner etc. Odd design choices for a 5*.
- soundproofing is not good. Can hear every single door slam on the floor I was on (11th).

a major disappointment was the pool. It is a big old and the pool tiles is very slippery do be careful walking in. My cousin slipped in the pool when she walked in. I informed the front desk that signs should be placed to prevent this from happenjng to other guests. There is also no hot tub, very cold water plus high winds since it’s across from the beach.

We arrived early to a very busy hotel. Our room was not ready. A couple of hours later, the lobby was full of people waiting. About an hour after check-in time, the lobby was empty and we got our room. Staff were apologetic. That was the only hiccup. Everything else was excellent. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The pool was nice. The rooftop restaurant was good and the view fabulous. The breakfast buffet was excellent. All staff were helpful, polite and friendly. The hotel is located a little way from the centre of beachside activity, but a quieter area was a good choice and taxis to go elsewhere were easy to use. We enjoyed the beach, just across the road. We were especially grateful to Katy at reception. She was the one who tried her best to get us checked in and was, for the rest of our stay, attentive and helpful. We appreciated that. A great place to stay in Da Nang.

This was our 2nd stay at Awaken. Our first trip was great so we decided to book here again.
This trip was extremely disappointing. The room wasn’t ready at the stated check-in time, the staff didn’t seem to know what to do and worst of all was the bathroom. The shower didn’t work and the bathtub flooded the entire room.
The upstairs restaurant served overpriced food that was cold. Again, poor service and a staff with not enough training.
Staff was very slow to fix the problems and in the end we had to tell them to come fix it and 2 nights already in the room.
We will not book the Awaken again and would not recommend it.
