We visited Hasselt for the two Christmas Markets, both are very beautiful. Paid parking with direct access to the hotel lobby. Bar that serves PS-Martini. PAX restuarant is about 8min walking.

Nice stay in hasselt

I booked a standard room. It was a good stay. I stayed during corona times with the lockdown still in place. Dinner options were nice, ordered tartar. Also reasonably good breakfast, a choice of croissants, bread, cheese and meats. The room was nice and comfortable. Convenient location to walk around the city center. Parking in a paid facility, priced at 16 eur per night.

Almost perfect :)

Recently refurbished hotel with spacious and clean rooms. The hotel is in a nice area, close to the centre and the canal quai with its restaurants. The hotel staff were friendly and email communication prior to the stay was good as well. The hotel breakfast was good for the price paid. I wish there was some way to reduce the amount of plastic waste during breakfast, but I understand that during Corona times this may be difficult. The only thing I would change is the light in the room. The lightbulbs are too dim, so sometimes the room was a bit too dark. Other than that, our stay was perfect :)

Stayed here during the bs covid restrictions for a surgery at the nearby wellness kliniek and it was perfect! Staff was extremely friendly, snack bar had an awesome selection, and the restaurant was great. Room was also beautiful and modern. Hotel is also in a good location with walking access to shops and cafes. Will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Belgium.

This is a difficult time for hotels, but many have adapted.

There’s been little effort here. Understaffed reception meant queues and a risk to social distancing.

They still had a crowded buffet breakfast where you had to touch the same milk bottles or juice dispensers where other hotels have made an effort to keep people at the tables.

The HI crew need to take a look at how other, better run, hotels have adapted during Covid. All this one has done has increased its pricing to a luxury level but not invested in service or processes.

The hotel was basic but worth it for the price. The photos on Hotels.com were for a more modern room than the one we got, the bathroom was super dated compared to the nice photos on here. Very clean room and common areas, super comfortable bed.

This is a good hotel, however, it really lets it’s self down when it comes to parking. It will cost €16 euros for 24 hrs, but if you take the car out then the the parking fees starts again.

However, if you do not have a car I would recommend the hotel.

The breakfast was the most comprehensive free hotel breakfast I've ever seen. Make yourself some (Belgian) waffles and add all the nutella, cookie butter, peanut butter, syrups, jams, etc etc you want. Room was huge by European standards. Not a fancy place, but good for business travel and families.

It's an older hotel but located very close to UHasselt and the main shopping areas. Location is A+. Internet was down when we arrived for around 24 hours or so. I felt bad for the folks working the front desk who were being accosted by guests, Belgian, American and alike. I know we like our internet and we like it fast but the people at the front desk had NOTHING to do with it being down nor could they fix the problem. When it was working, it was painfully slow and kept dropping from our room. I had to station myself in one spot and not move in order to get messages (yes, that bad). The hotel could also use a renovation seeing as the Holiday Inn Express was around the corner and was comparable accommodations. We had substandard meals at the restaurant for lunch/dinner (and the waitstaff for our meals were VERY unfriendly compared to other places we ate in Hasselt BUT the breakfast buffet was DELICIOUS and if you can, book your stay with the breakfast included (it was 18 euros per person extra and it was not as expensive if you book with breakfast included). Hasselt is a WONDERFUL place to visit in Belgium and I highly recommend visiting. People were so friendly and everyone we interacted with spoke english.

The hotel was nice and convenient to the university. It was also near several restaurants. The breakfast was amazing and I was so glad that my rate included it. Totally worth it! My only complaint is that my bed wasn't very comfortable.

It was an expensive stay for what it was, parking was extra at €16 a day, the meal in the adjoining restaurant was pleasant but expensive. The air conditioning in the room was not working properly, apparently due to a leak earlier, this was reported to reception who suggested opening the windows, which was not ideal when it was noisy and a hot evening, we were given a fan but there was insufficient power sockets to be able to put the fan in a good place to cool the whole family. Also we were only supplied with 2 small towels did a family of four, again had to report to reception.

Only small negative point was that on one evening, there was a guy who seemed to be very drunk and was making a lot of noise at a late hour and unfortunately, his room was not too far from mine...

I had to be there for business the breakfast was really nice. The room was dated with dirty stains on the wall from shoes luggage but also brown stains from something dripping down these in several places. In the bathroom there where broken tiles around the bath tub and brunmarks from sigarets on the sink.

The personal was also really friendly

Hidden fees, unacceptable

The positive: the hotel is well located. The lobby and amenities are nice, as well as the on-site restaurant. The staff is overall friendly. Rooms are a bit worn, but clean.

Negative: Cleaning staff just gives a quick knock and opens the door. My husband was relaxing in his underwear. I suppose we could've had a \"do-not-disturb\" sign up, but that doesn't mean they should just be opening doors without warning.

The biggest negative, and this really put us off. Our first morning we went to breakfast and wanted ala carte (we don't eat much). Sure, no problem, we ordered off a small menu that was handed to us. The second morning, suddenly, the little menu is not available, only the buffet is allowable. It's like a big deal and we are really confused after the previous morning where it was no problem. Apparently, there was an option to pre-purchase breakfast at a reduced rate upon check-in, but this was never extended to us. The next day we ate elsewhere.

Anyway, here's the worst bit. Upon checkout, they said \"and also breakfast for 3 days...\" as they automatically added the fee. We said no, we didn't have buffet, and they took it off the bill. Then proceeded to do this to EVERY OTHER CUSTOMER CHECKING OUT. If customer denied eating there (as not everyone is going to eat at an expensive hotel buffet!) they'd take it off the bill. We watched this happen to guest after guest. So dishonest sliding in the fee, and really unforgivable.

We chose this hotel for the indoor pool. The pool was a bit cold and we ended up not using. Put the kids to spash in the deep bathtub instead. Breakfast was outstanding and the 1200 check out made us not feel rushed. Great friendly staff.

Good city centre hotel with yummy food

Good city centre hotel with bistro bar and tasty breakfast buffet. Swimming pool is quite small. Parking is public car park which costs 14 € for 24 H. Hasselt is a smart city but quite small and you can walk from one side to the other in ten minutes. There is stylish shopping, great restaurants and bars and some interesting statues and museums. Don't miss them and try the local Jenever.

Stayed with my two children. Room was fine, but a little small for two large beds. Pleasant staff, breakfast was good. Mini donuts a hit with all children!! Free breakfast for children when adult pays €15. Good deal.
Nice area, little boating marina beside the hotel. The area is being developed so building work expected. Made use of free parking in marina not the underground pay parking. Would stay again!

Comfortable & kids under 19 free in parent's room!

Our family of 27 were on our way from Liepzig to Caen, so stayed here midway to break up our drive into 6 hour segments. The staff were friendly and helpful when one grandson needed a bandaid for a wound on his head from banging it hard. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and kids under 19 are free when staying in their parent's room. There was free standard wifi. Parking is 14 euros/day. Be sure to get instructions on how to exit the parking. The ticket you get from the front desk needs to be put into the caisse in the parking garage to get another ticket to open the exit barrier.

Very nice hotel in Hasselt

The hotel is really quiet pleasant, with good and easy access to the city center of Hasselt. Rooms were large and well maintained & clean, although ever so slightly dated. Great stay at Holiday Inn Hasselt

I was being picked pocket in Brussels. I informed Novotel Brussels hotel Manager of my incident & asked for some money to be charged to my room as I still have my credit card with me. However the Manager of Novotel Brussels rejected my requests. I have no choice then to travel up to Hasselt without a single cents.

Upon arriving in Hasselt & checked into Holiday Inn Hasselt, I related my incident in Brussels to the Front Counter Manager & requested for some cash, he immediately agreed & handed me some money & charge it to my room. This has given me much relives as some of the shop & restaurant do not accept credit card. I really appreciate the help of the Manager from Holiday Inn Hasselt.

Enjoyed our stay, booked into a family room little dissapointed on the tea/coffee facilities, there was nothing for the kids to drink in the way of hot chocolate etc and only 2 milk whiteners,apart from that enjoyed our one night stay. Did not have breakfast too expensive at £15 per head

First night of four in different Belgian Cities
Our first visit to Hasselt and not disappointed.
Nice, compact town centre. We stayed Saturday night and the town was fairly lively, but nowhere was too crowded.
Hotel was good - didn't use many of the facilities, as we headed into town shopping during the day and again for dinner and a beer or two.

Overall a nice stay

Hotel room was nice and also clean. Location was great also. Annoyingly two cups and towels for two although a family room for four was booked - we find this a lot! Best part of the room was the fabulous pillows. Worst part was unfortunately building work outside which started early and noisily even at the weekend.

Very nice hotel near the center

Hotel is in a great location, a short walk to shops, restaurants, cafes. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Only thing that brought the rating down from a 5 to a 4 is the breakfast. Way too expensive - 15 EUR per person! We just went to a nearby cafe which had better food and we paid about 1/3.

Very impressed by helpful responses from all staff at Holiday Inn Hasselt - at Reception, in the Restaurant, etc.
We spent most of our visit at a Floristry Exhibition at the (nearby) Alden Biesen and did not make extensive use of many of the hotel's facilities.

Would highly recommend for business or families

I have stayed at this hotel before, it is my preferred hotel in Hasselt. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, WiFi is free and the food is excellent. If you want to visit shops and restaurants or nightlife, they are all within a few minutes walking distance, as is the canal. Staff are always helpful and courteous. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The bedroom is clean and looks very cosy. The bed and pillows are brilliant. The staff are very friendly. The only hick-ups was during the checkout they had a trainee who kept asking another staff for almost everything. It might be best not to use trainee during rush check-out hour in the morning.

De kamer was mooi en een goed bed. De badkamer was een beetje klein aangezien het toilet er ook in is. Ontbijt was ok maar spijtig dat ze de moeite niet doen om een 'echte' omelet klaar te maken. Wel goed gelegen en een zeer mooi terras.

Very close to the center, easy parking underneath, but cheaper in the blue boulevard only 5 min away.
We had a difficult night due to a large group whi had no regard for other guests. I notified staff and because we were not alone, a very correct compensation was offered.
More than satisfying breakfast buffet.
