A beautifully-designed room in an incredibly quiet hotel in a neighbourhood that we loved. On a quiet residential street within walking distance to most of the places we wanted to visit, including the football stadium and restaurants and coffee shops of Laureles. The bed was large and incredibly comfortable, the shower and bath products provided were lovely, the a/c was strong and functional, and we enjoyed the small balcony and the view of the surrounding mountains, especially at night.

Booked the family loft room for 9 nights. The room itself was nice. I was very dissatisfied with the policies and amenities. A few things stuck out during my stay here.
1. I booked a family room for 4-5 people, but was told that I could bring only one other person. Otherwise, I would be charged $100 USD for each additional guests.
2. Amenities such as a hair dryer being provided with the room was listed in the booking. However, even after asking repeatedly to the reception throughout my stay, there wasn’t one available until my last day at the hotel.
3. On one occasion, I requested three towels. One for washing my face, another for the floor of the second shower, and the last for a spare. Moments after receiving the three requested towels, I received a message from the reception to return one of the towels, as the policy is that I am allowed to only receive two towels. That is a very strange policy for a request that is of little to no inconvenience to the hotel.
4. There is an accumulation of dust and garbage from past bookings that are under the beds.

The room was always clean but they lack amenities. The iron they had was burnt and left clothes with black smudges. Certain things asked wouldn’t be available at the moment. Not enough toilet paper or paper towels in the room. Wish they had better breakfast option. Feel like water should be complementary in rooms. We had a room that goes out to the terrace, the water came in and the floor is already slippery, our room was full of water. The washrooms are extremely tight and uncomfortable, there is hardly any space to get around. The shower is a standing room also, the water also leaks its way into the room. Overall such a messy situation.
The overnight receptionist, Yohannis, was very nice and accommodating.
Unfortunately, I dropped my state ID upon leaving the hotel. I have asked for it to be shipped (I offered to cover expenses) and they have now ghosted me. If they can’t send it back it’s fine, but I did request for it to be discarded with proof that it’s been cut so that it cannot be used and they refuse to answer. I don’t understand why’d they’d want my state ID if it cannot be used in Colombia. I wouldn’t bother returning, they can’t return an ID but want a good review? I don’t think so.

The property was clean, properly maintained, and had very warm, helpful, and courteous staff. There is no restaurant on the property, but the rooms come equipped with a kitchen area that has a refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, and a stove. The rooms also come with breakfast, which is served at a restaurant one block away from the hotel. If you are going to be out on the road for most of the time, doing tours or just getting to know Medellin, this type of accommodation is most cost-effective.

Firenze Lofts is exactly what I want in a property -- small enough to get personal service, but large enough to a super professional staff.
It is one of the greatest price points for quality returned -- that I have ever experienced.
The units are the size of a studio apartment.
The kitchen is bigger and more modern than what I have in my full sized house.
Same goes for the bathroom -- clean, modern, spacious with plenty of hot water in the big shower.
The elevator works fine and I never heard any noise from guests.
The unit comes with a large, private balcony.
The only small drawback is the unit available when I booked comes with two twin beds -- and they cannot bring in a full sized bed.
As I travel solo, I am used to a king or queen bed room -- not a pair of twins. A twin bed is somewhat small for a grown up.
But the property more than made up for it with a well-equipped room with tons of outlets, lighting options and a powerful AC unit.
Frienze Lofts is in Laureles -- an upper middle class are that is super flat and walkable -- compared to other areas of hilly Medellin.
They always try to steer anglos to Poblado. I think this location is 10 times nicer and more authentic.
I loved walking less than 15 minutes to the inexpensive elevated Metro train. One electronic card can be used for the trains, trams, gondola cars to the upper hills and endless city buses.

The ladies that work at the front desk (Vicky, Laura, and Yoani) are very polite, patient, and helpful. They helped us register for our tours and arrange the transportation. They were able to answer every question we had. They always had a friendly smile to greet us. The room was so cozy. The balcony was a nice place to hang out at night because the neighborhood was very quiet. I like that there was a mini kitchen in case we wanted to cook. The bathroom was spacious. The restaurant for breakfast was also nice. It’s a quick, easy walk. There is also a minimart by the restaurant to get whatever we needed. Firenze was really nice and I would stay there again.
