Convenient to Metro Value Hotel

Value hotel undergoing some significant remodeling. Very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Room had a balcony with a nice breeze. VERY convenient to the Kyiv Metro system, ride to Maiden Square in about 20-25 minutes. Nearby park that children would enjoy.

Property was clean, the nice friendly reception ladies are now being overshadowed by 3 mafia looking security guards that look at everyone like a terrorist and elevators don't go up or down without activated room key, how is that safe when there is a fire and children can't use elevator to escape fire? Property has turned into a military style top secret command post.

Bratislave Hotel review.

Service was very good. Only some of the desk staff speak English. However, I was able to use Google translate on my phone to request new batteries for the HVAC control for the room. They had someone up in less than 2 hours to replace the batteries. The housekeeping staff were very good and came every day.

I like to stay here because it is really close to the Metro, grocery stores, shops, and money exchanges. The hotel has a nice restaurant that is reasonable priced. Breakfast is buffet-style. Most rooms have a balcony which is nice.

Laundry service is nice to have, especially when staying for a week or more, but expect it to take about 3 days. Security is very good at the hotel. Wi-Fi was excellent! I had no problem watching movies on NetFlix on my laptop. There were also a number of English TV channels available.

The Bratislava is a nice place to stay that is reasonably priced. It has everything a traveler needs. There is also a large park across the street where they have concerts and activities in warmer weather. I encourage anyone to give the Bratislava a try if you plan to stay in Kiev. I have stayed at much higher priced hotels close to the city center, and they just don't compare to the Bratislava.

Staff was very friendly & professional. At times there was no one available that spoke english. Extremely limited assistance with information about tourist sites, hop on hop off bus, tours etc. Very outdated policies concerning early check in etc. Our room was ready when we arrived at 1045, after travelling all night. I wouldn't pay before seeing the room, so they showed me the room, which was ready, however we had to sit in the lobby for another 3 hours before we could check in. I would not stay here again!

Good option in the suburbs

There's a lot I liked about the Hotel Bratislava. While it is several miles away from central Kiev, it is within about 300 metres of a metro station that runs directly to the city centre in about 12 minutes. The metro trains are so frequent you don't need a timetable, and they're very cheap. Next to the metro is a shopping centre with a supermarket, and there are various fast food places close by too. The area isn't picturesque, but none of suburban Kiev is - I don't think I've ever been in a city with as much high rise, 60s, brutalist architecture; it's a fascinating city, but also a very ugly one. The room and bathroom were very comfortable. During a four day stay, my room wasn't cleaned one day. The reception staff speak ok english. Wifi works fine in the reception areas but is a bit erratic in the rooms. There are certainly much cheaper options in Kiev, including in the city centre, but I was put off by terrible or mixed reviews for most of them. Hotel Bratislava seems to get largely good reviews and I'm happy to add to them - I'd stay here again.

Decent hotel, very close to the metro Darnytsia, which will het you to the centre in about 15 minutes. Several supermarkets and a bazaar are nearby. I think every room has a balcony. It was a very nice hotel, and I'd happily stay here again.

Some receptionists are very helpful and accommodate for customer needs quickly. Others, just don't care and don't answer the phone. Breakfast is good for the price. Room was clean and quiet, although the bed was too hard on our backs.

Stayed almost two weeks at 38 USD includes 20% tax rate
You get daily cleaning, pleasant foyer, simple lobby cafe, intimate cafe and very decent breakfast in the hotel restaurant. There's a 'gentlemans dance night club' for the lonely types but it's quite discreet and not in your face.
Only bug bear is room service ends 10pm with few choices.
They turned off the central heating but did not give a remote for the Aircon in case the night got cold as bedding blanket is not thick.
Had a bar fridge for beers and snacks from adjacent shopping area.
Nice local music pub for beers and nice sausages.
Metro entrance is 100 meters across the street next to MacDonalds
20 Cents or 5 grivna to go anywhere on the metro circuit including the city center Kreschatik and connect to Maidan. Uber works well.

A good value non-central comfortable hotel

I was looking for a hotel in the city at a good price. Although this hotel is not in the centre of Kiev, the metro station is a very short walk away and it only takes 10-15 minutes to get into the centre. The metro runs from around 5.30am until just after midnight. The breakfast is 170UAH which is a bargain because it's got a very wide selection to give you the energy you need for the rest of the day. The room was comfortable but nothing extravagant. If you need to contact them before your stay, use their Facebook account because they didn't respond to my email but responded within an hour on Facebook. Someone is always on reception and I'm sure they're very helpful. I say 'sure' just because I didn't ask them anything. The local area has shops, a supermarket, couple of restaurants, McDonalds, and the adjacent park is great for a morning stroll. The hotel complex is complete with a restaurant, bar, a cafe, money exchanger, ATMs.

I'm often staing in Bratislava (Kiev), in the past service always was good but 19/20 of - Jan, 2018 I received totally different service. About 1 hour 40 min. Was waiting for Electrik Cattle, there was not teeth brush in the room, also was not disposable
slippers, I called to the reception 2-3 times but anyway nobody delivered! I'm sorry to say this but I realy like Bratislava Hotel and I'm sure Bratislava hotel team will improve this minor issues, Thank you in advance!

The room was clean, but too cold. Final charges were much more than what showed on my booking statement. Receptionists were late on wake up call, but prompt oh helping get a taxi. One of the receptionists was helpful in accommodating early check in and finding a better room.

I was disappointed that in junior suite room 433 there was no Refrigerator bar, no milk or snacks to go with the tea/coffee.
I had to request for my room to be cleaned/made up and there was no \"do not disturb\" notice available.
When I ordered mixed fruits dessert from room service, I was told there was none available.

This is a 3 star hotel and one should expect exactly this (no more and no less) from t his hotel. For this rating, for the price and the location you will get exactly what you should expect.

The hotel staff (front desk and the bar) was much friendlier than what you may experience outside of the Hotel (which is really sad, but true). The lady working in the bar was the friendliest person I met during my entire 5 day stay in Kiev.

One thing I was not happy about is that in the pictures they show the Gym has some basic cardio equipment. But there is none what so ever there at the hotel Gym. A bit misleading and totally pointless having such a Gym. Its just a room with a few weights in it. Staff in hotel restaurant need to go to charm school also.

Good value for the price: modern, clean facility, English-speaking stuff, rooms are rather small, but that is OK. Breakfast is very good and affordable: you can either pay for it in advance with the room payment or on the spot: same price. Outside restaurant on the terrace is also good and affordable.
On the negative side: they require advance payment for the room and if you use a bar or restaurant you have to pay every time instead of standard hotel practice when you give you credit card upon check-in and charge everything to the room paying just once upon your check-out.

Convenient, clean hotel in Kyiv

Chose this hotel because of proximity to the Eurovision stage, but it was also quite convenient to get to the center of Kyiv from here. The Bratislava theme was fun as I'd lived in Bratislava before. The hotel shows its age but is scrupulously clean. The cleaning staff in particular was very attentive. There are many grocery stores and simple restaurants around. The Metro station is a short walk. As a budget alternative to in-town lodging, or if you have a reason to be in that area, this hotel is perfectly fine.

firstly when I booked through expedia I got one price, when I got to the hotel I was given a different price, they say because their exchange rate is extremely low compared to anywhere else. expedia gave me a price at the hotel higher price. the first night was a nightmare as I could not sleep at all, the whole night this sound of water rushing down, I was given a new room the next day but no refund for that sleepless night, after the tv broke and had to go to a noise area.

The staff was very pleasant and the hotel itself was very nice..just a couple of issues. First this place is just too far from the city center. If you are going to Kiev to see this beautiful and historic city, stay closer to the Maidan. I really wish I had known this ! Second, Ukraine clearly could care less about American tourist dollars. Although they tried to be helpful, even the front desk people barely spoke any English at all. This was at times very frustrating. The continental breakfast was mediocre. If you are traveling by yourself, M. Gustavo's, the 24 hour small and intimate club at the hotel was just fantastic and extremely unexpected for such a clearly business traveler directed hotel. At any time, day or night, you could always find company to have a drink with, and share pleasant, and occasionally intimate conversation.

Room service was limited, but what they did have was very good. The 24 lobby cocktail and coffee bar was also a nice amenity.

Overall the hotel was very nice, but the location was not at all convenient if you are going to Kiev as a tourist.

Great priced hotel with nearby shops

The price was wonderful and it's across the street from a park where many families bring their children. Nearby, there are food options for both kids and adults, as well as 2 grocery stores within a couple of blocks. I enjoyed the Gogol Pub, down the street, which brews it's own beer and made a nice lunch. It has musical groups in the evening on the weekend. Staff is not the warmest or most engaged, but efficient. The three security guys in the lobby make you feel like you are under witness protection, but it's nice knowing that they are ever vigilant. Would stay here again.

Lovely hotel close to the metro and a small market

This hotel is lovely. The hotel is very close to the metro, some nice restaurants and a few supermarkets. Since the metro is so close it is easy to travel to central Kiev. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Although the local area looks a little rough, and the exterior of the hotel is nothing special, the inside is exquisite and full of helpful multilingual staff. They were very helpful in organising the arrival of my lost baggage with the airport, which was kind of them.
The small market nearby is interesting; you can find many fruit stands and clothes shops which are interesting to see.
The restaurants nearby are also cheap and have good food. The staff of these restaurants also know English to a good extent, so if you are monolingual, it is a big help, although it is nice to communicate in their language.

A mellow getaway from the busier parts of Kiev

It is a great and spacious conference hotel which is very relaxing when no conferences take place. Accessible by metro across the street and a 20 min taxi ride from Borispil airport. Very fancy restaurant with cozy summer terrace.

Nice authentic neighborhood. Very helpful staff with it's own free separate infodesk.

Good starting hotel when flying in.

The hotel is relatively new, the rooms are clean, there is a tv, refrigerator and a safe in every room. Over all, this hotel is a honest 3 stars, and great for it's price. In our room the view from the balcony was nice, the room was clean, and the only problem with room service was them once forgetting our second towel, but after a phone call the towel arrived in less than 5 minutes.
Another great thing is that the place is really close to the metro.
Also the hotel restaurant is horrible do not eat there. There is a cafe in the lobby withe same price range and much, much better food

Overall it was not too bad. The service was good. There was a choice of 3 different restaurants right there in the hotel. The only negatives I can think of was the phone was limited and I couldn't call any of my contacts in Kiev. Also the bed was a little too hard for my back, but laying the comforter on top did help.

I’m pleased with hotel this is because; worth for the money, good breakfast, condition was good, clean room, bed was comfortable, nice and helpful hotel staff. Only 5min walk to the underground and on the other side of the underground there is a mini supermarket. On the top floor there are some cafés where you can find a good meal for a low cost. Also 5min walk to McDonald's and couple of pizza places.
However, there are very limited T.V channels. So, I wasn't so happy as they were mainly in Ukrainian language and few in Russian. There was no English channels at all.
But, overall I’m very satisfied!

Very Reasonable, Clean and almost totally Friendly

I have stayed at the Bratislava twice and will continue to go there whenever I visit Kiev. When I had to shorten my first stay from the 4-day stay to 3, I was offered a refund for the unused portion, something very few hotels do. Although there is a cabaret-like night club with a bevy of beautiful dancers on the first floor, it doesn't interfere with the family-like lobby. Don't speak or ask anything to the security people in the main floor, they are very curt, especially if you only speak English. The rest of the staff is very friendly.

Good value hotel with very good staff. Bathroom needs a few repairs and there was no night menu which was the biggest problem. So could not eat after 12am. Only sometimes a sandwich from bar if they had any left. Internet was very good though.

Not so clean

The bed liners were not clean, it was a bit nasty to see somebody else's pubic hairs on the liners.
The restaurant staff were very unfriendly and unaccomadating, they think that if you don't understand the language they can even lie to you.
Room was not ready even after 6pm and had to wait over an hour after a very long flight.
The daily housekeeping was a 1 out of 10 because the room was not cleaned only towels were changed.

Great value. Get the breakfast included. Well worth it. Easy access to the metro. Four stops to the heart of Kiev.

Nice Price-cuality's relationship

It's a good place...a big exforce to rebuilding a Hotel from Soviet's times..near the Metro. A very good Price-cuality's relationship.
I can recommended ....just needs a improved in the breakfast ...basically the cafe...

Clean and convenient

Very clean room. With a supermarket nearby and a safe neighborhood. Around 7 minutes from the metro which is very convenient. And a plus is there's a Mc Donald's just 3 minutes from the hotel. When you want some universal taste, it's very useful. All in all, a super valuable stay!
