Overall, my stay was nice. I went for a long weekend with my son and he LOVED the pool and the hotel overall. However, the rooms could absolutely be cleaned and maintained better. There was hair and some gross elements in the room. Plus the room had a weird chemical/celery smell. The property itself is definitely getting old and it’s apparent—the elevators were not working properly the entire weekend which resulted in long wait times. Other than those issues the staff is great. The valet staff really stood out—they were VERY busy but also extremely accommodating and kind.

Disappointing from start to finish from a supposedly luxury hotel brand,

Room 1414 ocean view room booked turns out was a side view room that you had to lean over the balcony to see the ocean. Went straight down to reception and was told that is what an ocean room view was/is However I could pay extra $100 per night for suite room 1630 with ocean view. I agreed and was then allocated an accessible room with low shower and chair option. 👎 add to the fact for the entire 3 days and being on the 16th floor only 1 working/operational lift due to issues with the other lifts paying resort tax for walking the stairs or waiting 15 minutes for lift everytime was a shambles! Breakfast - Shockimg felt like a temporary set up Buffett style lacking in my normal W expectation this was set up as fruit with no yoghurt or granola options, bread was available with bagels but only a 2 slot home style toaster to use was terrible as again had to wait to use it, no options to get eggs cooked a different way scrambled in a pot was the option?? Tea and coffee out of a hot flask with no options for latte or cappuccino. I will be writing a formal complaint as this W Hotel was not a patch on my stays in the Edinburgh or Miami equivalents. Seriously avoid avoid avoid this W Hotel. My stay was 23rd June in to 26th June and only pass marks was for the pool area that was superb

This hotel was absolutely horrible! From the start, check in made us wait until 6 pm to get our room. Once we finally got our room it smelt like vomit and stale butts. They refused to give us another room. We decided to deal and wait it out and see if the smell would go away. At check out, we were charged extra fees that weren’t explained to us at check in. The hotel also charged a friend of ours for a cabana room at the pool that he never purchased. That was a mess too. We didn’t have hot water the first day. Toilet was acting up and if you travel with children or co workers etc. there is no door to shower areas. So be prepared for that if that’s something you’d prefer and would want privacy. Then after all that, I get home and get a $500 smoking charge. Keep in mind we don’t smoke. If I’d guess it was the smell of the room from the actually start. They refused to take it off the smoking charge.
I still have a charge of $415 that has not dropped off. They claim it will, but it’s been days later. Still fighting with them over this too.
Every morning I would go to lobby and it never failed that I would hear others complaining of the same issues. Be careful if you do decide to book here. Only plus side, staff there was the absolute best. So kind and friendly. Always with smiles on their faces and willing to help. It’s the front desk, building issues and the management that definitely needs to be addressed and replaced.

We really liked the open foyer in the hotel. The entrance walkway to the hotel as well as the pools and restaurants. My wife enjoyed the wonderful fresh fragrance throughout the hotel. The staff were wonderful as well.
We were very dissatisfied when it came down to the room. I booked a oceanfront king room but instead I received a room with a partial ocean view and queen bed for my wife's surprise Birthday first time in Florida. We had so many issues in room #1519. One of the hallway light bulbs were out, the know to turn the hallway light on was missing when you first walk in. The light bulb over the tub was out, the lights over the bed could not be brightened or darkened due to the knob missing to turn it up or down. The usb port next to the bed came apart after trying to take my plug out. The entire socket came apart out the base.
The rod to the curtains fell off when I tried to close it and the drapes were off the track where they usually snap in. I put it back together so I could open the drapes and it was late as well. Got out on the balcony and only had one chair which was inside the room. The sofa outside on the balcony was very dirty with stains from who knows where. The vanity mirror and arm was very rusty around the edges. The mirror on the round tables were faded and scratches all over it. The bed was not soft n comfy either.. Very disappointed overall after spending that type of money to surprise my wife. I told front desk at checkout about our concerns.

My stay at this hotel was absolutely dreadful. I will never return to this establishment.

On my first night, I was given a room without air conditioning. The second day, I was assigned a room that was filthy and not maintained to any standard. The room had an unpleasant odor, almost like old peanut butter. The carpet was coming up, and the bathroom shower was dirty. There was a wooden towel holder inside the shower that was moldy and covered in debris. The room with the toilet had no light.

The patio was infested with ants, which led to them entering the room and covering my bag. The linens were not clean, and I have photos to prove it. I have already requested a refund for my stay.

My rooms were 1122 and 1422. The pictures of this property should be updated because this was a terrible experience, especially considering that it was supposed to be a high-end hotel. It seems that the hotel is not investing in its property.

The AC was awful in the room. Called maintenance twice and they blamed the hotel for buying terrible thermostats. The maids never came to clean the room. One night they showed up at 6pm to clean and I was showing. Asked them to come back in 30 mins and they said they would, then they no showed. I had to get clean towels from front desk twice in 4 days. The AC ruined the entire trip. The hallways in the hotel were way more comfortable than the rooms. I’ll never go back.

The beach staff were phenomenal. They’re so friendly and helpful with chairs and umbrellas, towels, sunscreen, everything you need. They also serve food and drinks on the beach. The vibe is very relaxing and the chairs are more comfortable than other places I’ve stayed on the beach.

Highly recommend 10/10! The staff is so polite and professional and they make you feel important and that they’re happy you’re there. We loved the free bike rentals and definitely the beach loungers and towels. Anything we asked, the staff was happy to accommodate. We took a soft cooler to the beach every day and they filled it with ice for us daily before we left. Love this place!

we had the best long weekend here. from the moment we stepped out of the uber, every staff member we interacted with was polite and asked how they can help. we were greeted with a delicious sangria and offered bottled water at reception, which was lovely. we had an ocean front room with a balcony overlooking the pool and it was not at all loud as i anticipated it to be, given the location. our room was very clean and the bed insanely comfortable. the location is close to restaurants and of course, steps from the beach. love the service at the beach also. looking forward to returning!

My stay at the W Fort Lauderdale was wonderful overall. The service was excellent and lived up to the W brand. What kept this from being a full five‑star experience were a few inconveniences: the pool closing at 6 PM every day, the unexpected $500 nightly deposit, and valet not accepting my Slingshot, which meant parking on the street.

Still, the room was cozy, the balcony views were stunning, and while the shower pressure could’ve been stronger, the hot water came through quickly, which I appreciated.

I loved our stay. The staff is great. I loved the pool and beach. They don’t have ice machines on the floors, so you have to call room service for ice. I wish they had a coffee shop or breakfast place in the hotel other than ElVez or room service. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel and I would go back.

The property itself was great and staff was nice. Big issue though is we had no hot water to shower or wash hands. They sent someone to fix it but he just told us we needed to run the water for 20 minutes. And when we did that it still wasn't hot enough . And the AC wasn't great . I was very unhappy with the hot water . My mom is going though chemo and it's important to have have hot water for sanitary reasons

When I arrived at Check in I told them I purchased an Ocean front room with a king bed and in there system showed something else. So they wound up giving me an ocean view with two queen beds that my wife was so upset at me. Why did I rent this room? On the second day, they gave me the oceanfront room which I requested on the booking and but my first day was a total disaster.

We recently stayed at W Fort Lauderdale and unfortunately our experience did not reflect the luxury standards we expected from this property. While the location and beach access are beautiful, our stay was heavily impacted by ongoing construction, cleanliness concerns, and multiple room relocations throughout the trip.

Most concerning was finding a cockroach inside our hotel suite. After being moved again, the final floor we were placed on still had visible construction activity, rooms being worked on, and service clutter throughout the hallway, which made the atmosphere feel disruptive and unfinished rather than relaxing.

The staff members we encountered were polite and tried to assist, but overall the experience was disappointing given the cost of the stay and the expectations associated with the W brand. We truly hoped for a much better experience and were surprised by how many issues affected what was supposed to be a special vacation. We hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves the guest experience moving forward.

Got a premiere suite and the bathroom did not work. The water was leaking from around the bottom of the toilet all over the floor. Smelt like sewer in my room. Took them over 3 hours to come and check out the problem. They did not fix or try and transfer my room. The next morning more people came to try and fix the problem and I was told they would have to replace the entire toilet. Very unacceptable for a high end room like that and how expensive it was. You would think they would make sure the bathrooms are fully functional before the guest get put into the room. Very unsanitary and I was not satisfied with my stay.

love love staying at the W. this would be my 2nd time staying here, but we got a oceanfront room this time and loved it. amenities are always good. new pool was beautiful. pool staff very attentive. front desk staff and bell guys were helpful and nice. only downside or should i say upgrade they need to indulge into next would be updating their televisions in the rooms. they had “cable” but there was no good options to watch or no option to login into the most common apps (prime, netflix, etc). my toddler travels with us, otherwise i would not have cared. so all in all, great stay + hotel, the tv situation just needs to be upgraded :) would absolutely stay again and again with hopes that the upgrade is made eventually.

The brioche French toast was exceptional. The food we had for supper at the Mexican restaurant was incredible starting with the spicy crab guacamole.
Rooms were clean and the ocean view was good.

The room was mostly clean, but attention to detail was lacking. One of the beds was not properly made, with sheets hanging off one side. There was also an open, half-empty bottle of tequila left in the room, which was completely inappropriate. The bottle remained there during my whole stay, it wasn’t removed or exchange.

I had specifically requested an ocean view, but the view I received was obstructed by a large column directly in the middle, making it far from what I expected or paid for.

Overall, the resort was just okay. Unfortunately, the manager was not helpful in addressing these concerns, which made the experience more disappointing.

I would say the only 1 very small item I wish they had in the room was a full length mirror. And bathroom lighting is very dim so ladies pack a lighted mirror!! Other than that everything was perfect!

The room was not what i was expecting very small for the price being charged and on top of that there were cockroaches running in the room. Which already being disappointed that was a complete turnoff. It makes you think was it there the whole time we stayed or only today. Now i have to make sure i leave my luggage outside for a few days. When this was mentioned at the front desk at check out they just said okay will tell the managment that room should be cleaned better , they did not offer any compensation nothing.

There were only 3 working lifts for the property, at peak times you could be waiting up to 10 minutes for a space which then ran very slowly as stopping at floors en route.

I was upcharged at check in as soon as I got to the hotel. I was told I was getting a better room on the 16th floor after I requested a room on a lower level, so I took it. What I wasn't told, and later found out from a fellow guest was that the 2 of the 3 elevators haven’t been working for the past 5 days. Everytime I had to use the elevator it took 5-7 minutes and when it finally arrived it was packed with over 10 plus people. It felt like I was back at the office.
The pool was flooded and the pool bathrooms were filthy, food was basic at best.
In my room the smell of mildew was overwhelming. The sliding glass doors didn’t lock close and the water pressure was weak from a filthy shower head.
I had stayed at multiple W Hotels and this by far was the worst.
The staff was oblivious to all complaints and I left after one nights stay.

We had to ask for everything, and you have to tip individuals each time. There was no parking, and they charge $65 for valet, but it’s not explained on the website at the time of reservation.

Staff very very polite and fast with service. Very clean upscale hotel with pools for sunrise or sunset. And great beach with chairs and umbrellas. Great local shops and bars within walking distance. Recommend the water taxi for $35 takes you all over Fort Lauderdale and drops you off at bars, attractions and shops.

Front desk staff needs better training. Also room listed as ocean view was partial ocean view at best. Hotel did change us after one night to a proper ocean view after A LOT of effort on my part. It’s just simply not a 5 star hotel, almost every interaction with front desk staff was frustrating. Pool and housekeeping staff are excellent however. Location is great.
