Room was very clean and comfortable. Futons on elevated platform provided a warm, soft and cozy sleeping space.

All employees were polite, helpful and courteous. Public bath was well-maintained, clean and had subdued lighting for a peaceful soak. Pajamas and slippers provided.

Family Mart 24 hours next door, old town very close and fun to shop for souvenirs.

Can't wait to come back in springtime.

Good size room. Like the free flow of drinks (local sake, Asahi beer, coffee/tea) provided from 5pm till midnight at the lobby. Cosy lounge area. Very helpful and friendly staff. Top marks to all of them. Hotel very conveniently located near the old town. I would recommend trying at least once the Japanese breakfast provided by the hotel.

The location of this hotel is brilliant, right in the old town. And the onsen was a welcome relax at the end of a busy day. The staff were friendly and so helpful. The bed area was not that comfortable, a steep shelf to climb up is difficult for those with walking difficulties. And the bed was the hardest we slept on during our entire stay in Japan.

A nice hotel, very conveniently located, but very busy when we stayed and not as “mindful” as it markets itself. Room was large, but futon beds were rock solid and uncomfortable (even for someone who is happy sleeping directly on tatami). The breakfast was very generous, tasty and beautifully presented, but the dining room/lounge is very loud.

Very clean! Staff were nice, helpful & spoke good English! I arrived a couple of hours before my check-in & was allowed to use the laundry facilities while I waited for my room to be ready. They even provided me with free laundry detergent! They also provided free drinks in the evening. My only complaint was that the bed was rather stiff. Other than that, everything was great!

We loved this hotel! Beautiful! Room was great. Free saki bar at night was fun. Right in the middle of the charming old town. Also, walk over and make reservations at the burger place right behind the hotel - delicious!! We would do a little shopping then swing back to the hotel, then head back out. Family Mart was right next door for snacks and drinks. It was a great stay.

The hotel is nicely decorated. Our stay there was comfy and quiet at night. Furniture and room gives a warm and homely feel. Hotel provide Onsen, free drinks and carpark can be arranged. Location is convenient with morning market, shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Only negative part of our stay, was that we were made to wait for 25mins to get someone to send us out to get our car which was parked elsewhere. We checked a few times while waiting at reception and finally someone came out from behind the reception and send my husband to pick up our car. Will stay again if we are going back to Takayama.

A beautiful hotel! We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is in the middle of the historic area of Takayama. It’s walking distance to everything you’d like to see. The hotel is clean, staff were super kind. They have free drinks each evening in the lounge and offer both western or Japanese breakfast for a fee. The hotel isn’t the most sound proof however it’s a quiet area where shops and restaurants close at a reasonable time so we had no trouble sleeping. Our room was very spacious and clean. We found the beds to be comfy. It was about a 15 minute walk from the train station.

The hotel is in a great location for the old town, but when you read ‘Zen’, think very hard mattresses, minimal storage / hanging space and a sink in the main room instead of the bathroom. The main communal area where the free beer and sake is served reminded me of my old school canteen - very little atmosphere!

Excellent hotel for a few nights in Takayama. Very friendly and efficient staff. Great breakfast with a choice of Japanese or Western. Free drinks 1700- 2300hrs. Lovely spa. Good location. BE WARNED....when you arrive, you are advised to book restaurants for evening meals, of which the hotel offers you a good choice. However, these are the most EXPENSIVE restaurants in Takayama. There are plenty of cheaper (and superb) restaurants in the town, some of which don't accept reservations and may require a 10-20 minute wait ( but well worth it).

Fantastic hotel, about a 15 minute walk from train & bus station. Right in the heart of Takayama. Walkable to everywhere within 15 mins. Breakfast fantastic, it alternates between Japanese one day and western style the next. Beautifully presented food. There is a free drink every night in the restaurant/bar area where you can have a sake tasting of 3 different sakes. The onsen is lovely and relaxing. The room was spacious and clean and very comfortable, we slept really well. Bathroom small, but great shower and lots of hot water. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic staff who were always helpful and cheerful. The nightly open bar from 5-11 pm in the lounge was incredible and amazingly subdued: tastings of local sakes or the ubiquitous Japanese lagers. Breakfast alternated between Japanese and Western bento boxes, and were filling. The futon beds are very firm, but that was ok with us.

Bonus: we left some important medication behind and the staff overnighted it to us in Kyoto for $8.00US!

I want to give a review of this property but I know everyone's experience may be different(I hope not). This property was just outstanding! I have never been to a hotel property like this, ever! The building itself is beautiful, built with what I suspect to be local wood accents. The rooms are lovely! Beautifully set up and very clean.
After all that, it now turns to the service that was given to me by the staff.... Which was absolutely astonishing! The staff managing the hotel itself were the kindest ive experienced here in Japan. Words could not discribe how pleased I was with they're service. To be fair, it could have been that not very many people were staying at the same time I was, I think about 4-6 other rooms were booked, by what I was told by the staff. But through my experience, we were blessed to have been treated the way they treated us. They made several reservations for us with out even asking, we just told them what we had planned for the day or the next day and they would go out of their way to accommodate us and assist us with those plans. They even assisted us by planning the best route to see the town of Takayama. We never abused them by having them do everything for us but they took upon themselves to treat us the way they did. Offered to bring us drinks, snacks to our room.
Which brings me to the amenities of the property. Great hot public bath, free sake tasting, and free beer and other drinks
It was just a truly great experience.

Terrific hotel, super-friendly staff

This was the best place we stayed in 2+ weeks in Japan. The staff was the nicest, friendliest staff of all the places we stayed. As just one example, when we went up to Kamikochi Park, Mayuki gave us a guidebook she had bought there (for her own use) on a previous visit. Several spoke good English, and Ai was able to explain some local customs. The location is also great, as it’s one of the very few hotels actually in the Old Town and only a 12-minute walk from the train station.

The hotel is quite new and is spotless. Rooms are large by Japanese standards. Ours (“Two Twin Beds”) had western-style mattresses on a raised platform. Since the mattresses are very firm, they gave us several pads to put on top of them, which made them quite comfortable. There’s a large common room (much brighter than in the photo) with games and free drinks, where guests mingle. There are also men’s and women’s spas (baths).

All in all, a delightful place.

Due to the a typhoon we spent 6 nights at this hotel and stayed in each type of room. The hotel is modern, Japanese edge designer hotel in a great location the very best part of Takayama.

It took us a few nights before we really understood the philosophy of the hotel owners and management team. It is designed to immerse you in a unique Takayama local experience. So no TVs, free drinks in the main lobby, with its furniture etc made by local craftsmen and a great onsen, you are encouraged to engage talk to the local staff, enjoy free sake tasting, art and a very Japanese breakfast featuring local ingredients. If you understand and accept this you will be in for one amazing and special time. It is so much more than a hotel!

室内も清潔で静か、ベッドも枕もちょうど良く年よりな私たちでも腰が痛くなるようなことはありませんでした。ビール、日本酒、ソフトドリンクも満足できるだけいただけ、飲み比べもスタッフさんが、詳しく説明していただけます。
駐車場は遠いですが、送迎があり問題ありません。
ただ、間接照明が暗く私には物や字が見えず難儀しました。

スタンダードなツインのお部屋に宿泊しました。広くはないですが天井が高く清潔感があり、テレビがないこともありますが周りの音が気にならずとても静かに過ごせました。
高山の古い街並みの中にあり、コンビニも隣という好立地。
お部屋には浴槽がなく狭いシャワー室のみ。大浴場もありますが、長方形の浴槽１つと洗い場が4つしかなく裸のまま少し待ちました。
しかもシャワーは激弱で、窓もなくモダン過ぎる作りで暗いです。お風呂を楽しみたい方には適していないと思います。
一階のラウンジは開放感があり、木の家具でとても落ち着きます。
しかも地酒や生ビールも無料で飲み放題。
ビールもスタッフの方が冷えたグラスにサーバーで注いでくれるので美味しく頂けました。
皆さん静かに過ごしておられて、大変心地よかったです。
インバウンド向けで外国人も多いですが、お値打ちに宿泊できると思います。ビジネスの宿泊にも良いかと。

環境氣氛很棒，地點極佳，歐美人士居多
各種清酒招待和生啤招待極好
唯一缺點只有床偏硬睡完覺得不太舒適
其他都很棒！

アジア系の男性スタッフの対応が凄く良かった。
お酒飲み放題「久寿玉」美味しいので、平瀬酒造で買って帰りました。

大浴場の水圧がかなり弱いのが残念でした。
