Nearly all good and definitely loved our room overlooking the street cafe.

Just feel that a 4* should have a little more personal interaction e.g. have a reception and a representative to talk to if required, not just emailed a bunch of codes to get access.

Remote check in….means really remote!!!!

Really hard work to check in! Despite trying to call them, using the intercom, emails, WhatsApp’s etc etc it was really hard work to get any information! No one present on site at all to communicate at all. Overall position of hotel is excellent but be aware a lot of improvements to the surrounding area are occurring around it.

The remote check-in was easier than I expected. The parking was free if you can get a spot and just stay there for the duration of your stay. Kaunas is a beautiful city! And this property was in the perfect spot for restaurants, shopping, churches and museums. Nice big rooms and bathrooms. Bed was very comfortable! We would stay here again.

Booked it for convenience to explore Kaunas. The location is fantastic - one block from the City Hall Square (Rotuses Aikste). There are no people working there, you have to call to check in or pay through the link to check in, even though we prepaid for the room. Based on pictures, the room was supposed to be larger and on the upper floor, we paid extra for it, but got the basic room on the ground floor. After 40 min spent trying to check in while messaging with the hotel through the WhatsApp, we finally got room info and code to get in via WhatsApp again. No forewarning about this and not very efficient. The room was not decorated and dark, no artwork on the walls, just gray everywhere. The room was cold (15°). No water provided in the room (except paid one), and a mini fridge with a paid mini bar inside. One of the most uncomfortable and hard mattresses we ever slept on while travelling.
We paid for breakfast, selection, quality of options and the variety were good. Some dilapidation (broken tile in the bathroom, pealing caulk), overall did not feel like a four star hotel, eapecially for twice as much as most other places in the area.

didn’t get email or sms about the checkin code, a phone call just barely helped but the helper barely spoke any English. We only had a half roll of toilet paper so we requested cleaning service the first day so they would fix that, but when we came back the room was untouched, and we had to ration the TP and survived the stay with one square left on the roll.

We specifically booked this hotel because of the location and air conditioning in the rooms. However during our 2 night stay the AC was not functional. We asked for a fan - none were available. Our window barely opened and there was no air flow in the room. It was a miserable 2 nights.

This was a big dissapointment the hotel claims to be a 4 star but was really a two star at best. Our bedsheets weren't changed for three days during our 5 day stay. We had no clean towels for two days. The shower was a joke it had no pressure and would cut out for first three days so my gf couldn't shower. It also lost heating and changed temperature for three days was unacceptable considering it was minus numbers outside. The room it self was showing a lack of maintenance the door handle was broken and the bathroom Tao produced bad smells when used and the bath didn't work despite me asking to to get it fixed it never was. Not worth the money in the slightest I have stayed all over the world in 4 stars this is a poor hotel really. Would not recommend at all.

Dirty bathroom but close to town hall

Hotel itself is near the town hall and old town kaunas. 45minutes by bus from kaunas airport to the city center and you pay 1 euro or 12 euro taxi and 30mins ride. The hotel location is superb, breakfast is ok, assortment of cheese, cold cuts, fruits, cereals, cakes and each person get 1 hot breakfast, tea and regular coffee and juices are included and if you.want capucino or latte thats extra. The hotel doesn't have elevator and they gave me room 303 which is in the 3rd floor. Then shower is clogged and nkt draining properly! I called the reception and told them about it and i waited 15minutes for the solution and they told me there is no room avail so they will fix it the next day but i told them i need to take a shower and the shower is not draining and flooded and i told them that i will call hotel.com and then after 15 minutes they called mw back saying there is a splution and they will transfer me to another room, well it's not clogged but the toilet is dirty so it looks like they just changed the sheets and did not clean the bathroom, no shampoo or anything and only 1 big towel and small towel so i have to ask thwm for extra big towel. They transfered me to 3rd floor in the other side of the building.The shower is not good sprinkling everywhere! Also problem at night. On our first day i dont hear anything but on our 2nd and 3rd night i cant sleep because its too noisy and i can hear all the people talking from outside even until 3am!. I am not happy with my stay.

We arrived at our hotel to be told that they had over booked and that they had arranged that we stay at another hotel. They organised a taxi to bring us to our hotel. I have to say the hotel we stayed in was very nice and the staff were excellent. I was disappointing that we were not told of the mix up in advance by Expedia.

The clerk at the desk didn't even pretend to look to see if my room was ready because I arrived at 2 PM (before official check-in time). But it wasn't a problem to leave my bag and then just explore the area.

And the location was superb, located right in Old Town and an easy walk to Kaunas Castle.

The room was a good size with a small sitting area. Quiet at night.

Didn't seem to be a lift, so I was glad I had packed light as my room was on the third floor. A bit off-putting that they charged for in-room tea.

Wish I could have stayed there

When I arrived at the hotel to check in, the attendant told me that this hotel cancelled my reservation due to an issue with the room and moved me to another hotel about 4 kilometres away, outside the old city. While the Hotel claims to have contacted Expedia to notify them of the situation, neither the hotel, nor Expedia, nor hotels.com notified me personally of the change by phone text or email. I called hotels.com and they offered me a credit due to the inconvenience that was caused. I have no experience of the hotel other than the lobby which looks very nice and the central location in the old city which would have been very convenient for my stay.

The hotel is fine and it is the only hotel I was in Lithuania but I have to mention a few things. Shower in our room was really weak, no pressure at all and water was changing cold and hot. There was just one electrical heating in our room (it was enough but still), TV was not working (who cares but still) and when we asked for one more duvet the hotel staff said she'll bring it to us but she never did. But I can't just complain. Just expected a little bit more for the price.

Enivironmnet of Hotel is quite silence and has very good possibility to check churches, museums around main square of Old Town in Kaunas.

No heating in the room

The delux room was big, but there were unpainted areas on the walls. The electric heater was disconnected and the room was cold - I did not realize what was wrong and we went to bed. The next day we were out most of the day but when we returned I started to search for the heating problem and found out that the electric heating panel had fallen off the wall and the hotel han not cared to fix it. I complained to the front desk but he only found a plastic strip and helped me hang it on two screws on the wall. We got heating but it was ridiculous that I had to do it myself.

I have chosen this hotel cause of its location . The hotel condition in overall is fine. Its a small, boutique design hotel in a great location , close to everything you need to see in Kaunas. As hotel is only 28 rooms you can still have your privacy and quiet stay if you are a light sleeper. The staff of the hotel is hospitable and helpful. Being in the center of old town gives you easy access to all great restaurants and pubs within 2 min walking distance. I would definetely recommend to book this hotel if you want to experience kaunas in its best.

Its second time we were staying here just for a change from Daugirdas. First time stay was fine but not this one.
Double deluxe room. Double bed is actually 2 singles joined together so you can imagine quality of sleep and mattress topers are 2 singles and smaller than actual mattresses. Cigaret smell in the room probably coming through vents as we were told there are 2 smoking allowed rooms in the hotel.
Heating had to be kep off due to odd noise in the thermostat control. All of these notes were made and receptionist advised for a room change next day but due to busy schedule at the wedding etc we had no time to move between rooms. No apologies or anything given. It was the last time and wont be giving another chance. Just as advice, stay at Daugirdas, it always delivers.

Room was 33 degrees celsius when we checked in. They moved us to one that was 30 (that's still 90). It got a little better as they cranked the AC, but the surroundings in this hotel are nothing more than dumpy and outdated. Looks good from the outside, but the room is 70s and worn out. They say they have free parking, but that's if you get there and the spaces in front of the hotel, which are not signed as theirs, are open. Overall, a mediocre hotel in a nice location.

What a hotel! The staff was exceptional--very helpful, friendly, and focused on customer comfort and satisfaction. The location could not be better--in the heart of Old Town, but tucked away so that it was quiet. Adequate breakfast with delicious coffee. The rooms were equipped with a television and minibar, and Internet was free. The only minor complaint is that the rooms were a bit too warm, even with the windows open. However, this is probably only a slight problem in July. I highly recommend this hotel!

May have been a bad experience

The Hotel location was great and the rooms were nice. When we arrived we checked in and came to find we were placed in a smoking room. the room reeked of smoke. We asked to be moved and were told there were no other rooms. The front desk gave us air freshener but that did not get the smell out of the bed. There were some kind of stains on the floor, may have been bleach stains. Positive notes location is right in old town, good price, small parking lot for you vehicle.

Cozy is a name that fits!

The Amberton Hotel in Kaunas is a great base for visiting this town. It is located in Old Town close to the town square and all of the sites. The staff is very helpful recommending a great restaurant and calling taxis. They upgraded our room to a suite for the night and gave us complimentary glasses of wine when we arrived. The manager even sent a thank you email after we returned home. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great little hotel in Kaunas

I went to Kaunas for business, to interview a group of students. My first search on Expedia revealed that the city isn't endowed with a fine collection of five star hotels. The Cozy hotel looked the best of what was available and so I booked.

It's actually a great little boutique hotel and the staff are fantastic, really friendly, intelligent and helpful. I needed to interview ten people, and they managed the process for me, showing new arrivals where to wait while I interviewed other candidates.

If you visit in the winter then I'd recommend that you work out the bedroom heating fairly early on.. I only realised that the radiator needed to be plugged in hours after the wall controls failed to have any effect. And there was no iron and board available, nor an evening laundry service, so I faced the next day's meetings slightly unkempt. But overall, my impression of the hotel was very positive and I'd have no hesitation in recommending it as probably the best in Kaunas.

Excellently situated in a small, quiet square only a minute or two's stroll from the Old Town square - I don't think the location could be any better! Our room was better appointed and more comfortable than expected - it was tastefully designed and even had space for a large couch.

On the night we stayed there was a king-hell storm that apparently flooded the kitchen - but they were still able to lay on a tasty and varied cold breakfast table the following morning. Top marks there.

Friendly and helpful staff too.

We've no hesitation in recommending the hotel, and if we're ever in Kaunas again (a distinct possibility, it was our first visit to Lithuania and we loved it) this is where we'll stay.

Arrived in Lithuania for the first time late at night, speaking only English. Front desk was extremely pleasant and recommended restaurants. I loved my room. Leather sofa, comfortable beds and a beautiful bathroom with a big window. Nice bathroom fixtures and a big wooden ledge to store stuff on. The breakfast was very good - everything you would expect. Very convenient location in the heart of old town. Kind of cool decor, but an understated cool. After a side trip to Vilnius I returned to Kaunas for a final night. At my prior request, the front desk gave me my same room back again. All with a smile. It felt like home.

Check in automatico con mail per istruzioni richiesta ripetutamente prima e dopo l'arrivo. Assenza di personale alla reception. Abbiamo chiamato e il telefono squillava a vuoto. Perso molto tempo prima di ricevere una risposta. Condizioni fatiscenti considerata la categoria. Assenza di ascensore. Pulizia appena sufficiente. Colazione ok.

3 friends visiting kaunas for the weekend

We had a Bad Overall experience.
The Room wasn't at all as shown in the pictures.
The air inside the room was stale, kind of musty.
Breakfast and cleaning were ok.
The only pro was the location
Price definitely not in line for a 4 star hotel offer

In en uitchecken gaat heel makkelijk dmv een toegangscode.

Parkeren is niet heel makkelijk. Weinig parkeergelegenheid in de directe omgeving van het hotel. Parkeren is betaald van 0800-2000 en kost €20,- voor de gehele dag.

Das Hotel war überraschend enttäuschend und mir fehlen ehrlich gesagt die Worte. Während des Aufenthalts war die einzige Person, die in Hotel aktiv gearbeitet hat, eine Angestellte bei Frühstück, welche nur zur Kontrolle vor Ort war. Die Klimaanlage war im Frühstücksbereich auf 16°C eingestellt und das bei Außentemperaturen von 6°C. Das Frühstück, welches warm sein sollte, war kalt und schwamm teilweise in der eigenen Suppe.
Der Check-In läuft anscheinend per Mail, allerdings ist es ungünstig wenn man keine Mail mit den Zugängen erhält und sich dann beim Check-In per Wandtelefon mit einem Servicemitarbeiter unterhalten muss, um seine Zugänge zu erhalten.
Das Zimmer war halb leer und wirkte dadurch sehr verloren. Das Fenster im Raum hatte einen Sprung und die Heizung ist nachts einfach ausgegangen obwohl die Zieltemperatur nicht erreicht war. Das Bad hat den gesamten Aufenthalt nach Gülle gerochen, vermutlich weil die Abflüsse zugesetzt sind. Einige Dichtungen an Türen und Fenstern waren abgerissen und hingen teilweise an diesen.
Die Lage des Hotels ist der einzige Pluspunkt, denn dieses liegt quasi im Altstadt Zentrum, worduch sehr vieles zu Fuß erreichbar ist.
Der Preis ist absolut ungerechtfertigt und die angeblichen 4-Sterne waren nirgends zu erkennen.
Das Hotel ist absolut nicht zu empfehlen, denn selbst die Lage macht den Rest nicht wett.

Old hotel with no elevator and no reception. Need an upgrade. The price does absolutely not match what you get, not value for money ☹️
The cleaning girls were very kind and helpful though.

No front desk personel - only online check in :(

Impossible to check in, as no front desk!!
All only online, and with no computer and very poor english by the guy on the phone, it was impossible to check in.
After nearly 1 hour, and the help from one that could speak Lithuanian, we finally managed to be checked in.
Until there is front desk personel at the hotel, we will not come back!

Veldig dårlig frokost/mat, tv ødelagt, toalettring knekt, veldig dårlig trykk i dusjen så vanskelig å få tatt seg en ordentlig dusj, nesten umulig å få vasket håret.. Renhold på rommet var veldig varierende, enkelte ganger kom de ikke i det hele tatt..

Saknades reception i hotellet, sk. själv check-in som var rätt krånglig. Hotellet rätt slitet och saknar hiss, trots att det har många våningar.
