Amazing place, this is our go to hotel in Kaunas. Receptionist upon arrival gave us all the info on where to go for Užgavénés. Breakfast amazing as usual, and please thank our Ukrainian host for her attentive service yesterday. Apologies for forgetting names! Temperatures of -21C but our room was warm and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was amazing. We’ll be back soon.

The hotel is in a great position for the Town Square that is only a couple of minutes away. It is however very quiet and attractive and has been thoughtfully designed. Our room had a balcony and was very clean and comfortable although the beds weren’t made up on two occasions. The breakfasts had a reasonable choice and the staff were always efficient. This was a second visit to the hotel so I would most certainly recommend it.

Stayed two nights at the Daugirdas Hotel and it was exactly what I needed. The room was clean, comfortable, and a good size for a solo traveller. Traditional décor but everything felt well-kept and cosy.
Staff were friendly and check-in was smooth. Great location near the Old Town — easy to walk everywhere. Didn’t try the restaurant so can’t comment, but overall very good value for money. Would happily stay again for a short trip.

Superb location

Check in was fine and staff were friendly. We had to change rooms after one night but this was sorted promptly and very efficiently done. The room (with balcony) which we had for a week was very clean however the team cleaning the room didn't make up our bed particularly well on a couple of occasions (1st world problem I know!). We ate in the restaurant on one occasion and the food was ok. Waiting staff weren't the friendliest but I guess they'd had a long day and wanted to get finished. Overall, a great location if you are visiting Kaunas old town. Would we stay there again, yes.

The hotel is in an excellent position for tourists as it is in the old city and just a short walk to tourist attractions and near plenty of restaurants and bars but far enough away to not be affected by noise etc . The electronic key for room I was given didn’t work so I was given another room. The new room was huge, so it was a big upgrade . I loved my stay there.

It would be helpful to receive a communication from the hotel in advance of arrival recommending how to get to the hotel. I don’t speak Lithuanian and it was incredibly hard to find information when I arrived at the train station. Google maps didn’t show any routes. I ended up walking under I found a city bus. The driver found someone on board who confirmed that bus went to the Old Town. I had an idea where the hotel was so I followed the bus’ progress on Google Maps. When I was within a half mile or so, I left the bus and again used the Maps app to find an approximate way to the hotel’s location.

What would have been helpful is to get an email recommending the download of the Bolt (ride sharing) app. I could have saved myself all of that trouble at a very affordable price.

Really good stay. Ideal location for getting around the city and it's right near the castle and the river. Beautiful decor inside. Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is good - would be nice if they had more vegan options but it wasn't a problem to ask for the kitchen to make something like oat porridge etc. for us and to get soya milk (for cereal or just for coffee) which was great. I'd advise you to make your dietary requirements clear at reception. Hotel was very quiet. Staff were all friendly. Lolita in particular, made our breakfast time perfect, ensuring the kitchen prepped suitable food for us and we were taken care of. The bar is also great - Dalius is a very experienced bartender. Overall would recommend staying here as location is great and value for money is excellent.

This hotel is a wonderful mix of old and new right in old town. The staff was very helpful and terrace patio has great views!! Their food was also excellent!! Not a place to park but they helped me arrange to pay for parking on the street, which was right in front of the hotel. It is also right next to the Neris River with a beautiful walkway to enjoy

An exceptionally comfortable bed started the weekend off in fine style. The hotel's right in the Old Town (which might be small, but is nonetheless very attractive) and an easy walk to the castle, the main museums, the river and the town square. The staff are smiley and very helpful. Best of all is the basement restaurant - it might not be cheap but it was worth every single cent.

I checked out the top three hotels in Kaunas as I had guests coming with me. The Daugirdas was very friendly, large well air conditioned rooms and in a superb location. Breakfast ok, but not great. I would definitely return to this user friendly hotel.

Kaunas / December Christmas Trip

We went for a pre-Christmas trip to Kaunas, seduced by the advertising of Kaunas as the Christmas Capital of the Baltics. It wasn't, the market had seven stalls our trip was only saved by a train trip (lovely trains, cheap and on time) to Vilnius where the market was much better.
However, Kaunas is not really geared up to be a tourist destination. The old town was OK and the castle (rebuilt in 2010) quite pretty, the Daugirdas Hotel was well placed for these being just a few minutes walk from the centre of the old town and the castle. If I returned to Kaunas (unlikely) I would be happy to stay at the Daugirdas again.
Check in was good, quick and efficient. The hotel is a strange mixture of old and new, certainly the rooms could be spruced up a little and the bed was a bit old and lumpy but surprisingly comfortable. The room and bathroom were both of a good size, there was a mini bar but a kettle in the room (I brought my own) would have been good.
There was a good choice at breakfast but it seemed to be brought out at the start of service and then just left, so arriving a few hours later meant the eggs had congealed and were really not very pleasant. The fresh fruit was good, and a nice selection of cold buffet and pastries. Croissants ran out one morning and were not replenished which upset one of our party.
We didn't have an evening meal in the hotel as it seemed a little pricey compared to other restaurants, so I cannot comment on the food apart from breakfast.

Breakfast just ok in basement dining room. But overall very good value. Pleasant and attractive front staff. Better than another top Kaunas hotel in which I have stayed. Location is just off city hall and close to the best sights in old town.

The Hotel is ideally situated very close to the square and within easy walking distance of lots of bars and restaurants. The staff were very friendly, polite and welcoming. The only area where I think the hotel needs to look at at is the breakfast. Whilst there is a wide range of items the hot food was just warm at times and some items not the best quality (scrambled eggs and sausages were poor , orange juice not fresh, croissants were poor).This may seem a little picky but breakfast is the most important meal of the day for tourists and any business people as it sets you up for the day.I do stress though I liked the hotel and staff this is a view on improving the hotel's image further,

Quaint hotel in historic old town

Very nice hotel with historical architecture blending with newly added modern style section. Part of the old building is incorporated into the the new building with the old street forming an alley of the hotel lobby. Highly recommended. Very nice staff and excellent breakfast buffet included in room price.

Nice hotel, well appointed but clueless staff. The room was nice, and roomy but the day was hot and sunny. It appeared a/c was not working and room temp was 27! So I requested maintenance. The front desk said they controlled a/c from their location and they turned it on for us. Great, except it did not work. An hour later I again requested help. Now the room was 28 and rising! The manager said she would send up cold water and juice. Nice idea but hardly a fix. Turns out that in order for the a/c to work all windows and doors must be sealed closed. We should know this how? Eventually this solved the problem. It would have been better to have a staff member check it out and inform us immediately of the issue. Instead they rely on remote information.

Couldn'the ask for better

We had a fabulous stay in the Daugirdas Hotel. Our room was spacious, extremely quiet (even with a lively celebration in the lobby), and had a rather quirky, but very luxurious bathroom with soaker tub and shower. The weather had been warm for May, and we had stayed in a few places where we were too warm to sleep comfortably, but Daugirdas had air conditioning. That, plus black-out curtains, and a very comfortable bed made for an excellent night'so sleep. We loved the elegand, old world feel of the decor, and appreciated the room safe. We ate in the hotel's restaurant and had an excellent meal, with a superb waiter. The breakfast buffet was also quite good. The only reason we did not give the hotel a perfect score is that our check-in desk clerk was not particularly welcoming...we'll give her the benefit of the doubt and attribute that to the rather lively party in the lobby. Next morning, all service people were quite friendly.

This is a wonderful hotel in heart of the Kaunas old town. A short walk to the Nemunas and Neris rivers' confluence and the old fort. The hotel blends in with the old town style, but is new and modern inside, with a roof top bar/restaurant that is a perfect retreat.

Very happy we stayed here.

Essentially on the side of the old town near the river, it was perfectly situated (close, yet quiet). A bonus was the hotel has its own free parking lot across the quiet little street. We found the staff to be friendly and competent. The room was clean, comfortable and of adequate size, although it couldn’t be described as spacious. We would certainly stay here again if in Kaunas.

We arrived as newlyweds were having their photographs taken, which was a lovely beginning to the holiday. The receptionist seemed tired but was very kind, spoke English, humoured my attempts at Lithuanian, and had our room changed from a double to two singles within ten minutes. She seemed very over-worked, for we asked for a taxi at 6:40 the next morning and she said she gets in at 5 anyway. the time was nearing midnight! I hope she gets paid well.

Anyway, the location was perfect. Although Kaunas is a small city, the Daugirdas is in the perfect spot - walking distance to everything worth visiting.

Our room was very clean, complete with a seating area, too, and had silky mosquito nets so we could have the windows open at night with no creepy crawlies getting in.

Breakfast (on the day we were in for one!) was delicious - very Lithuanian, very varied, and there was a bar but we didn't try that. It looked good though!

The only complaint I could possibly have was, on one night a concert was going on nearby and the bass was pretty loud in our room, but I assume it was because we were on the ground floor. Definitely not the hotel's fault a concert was going on, and if I come back to Kaunas I would 100% stay here again!

Great Hotel - Great Value

The Daugirdas Hotel was a fabulous place to stay. Lovely large CLEAN room (with a lounge suite) and a BIG bathroom to boot. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is just a short stroll to the 'Old' Town Centre with beautiful restaurants around the Town Centre. Definitely recommend this hotel!

I enjoyed my stay at the Daugirdas hotel. It is right by the town square. The room was basic but nice and spacious. The bed was very large. The breakfast was quite good. I don't really have any complaints about the hotel although it may be possible to find a comparable hotel for less expensive.

High quality for reasonable price

We stayed one night in this ultra-modern hotel in the old town of Kaunus. Quality of berdrooms and catering was very good and the price through the hotels.co.uk website was fantastic for what we were getting. Service in the sky bar was poor, but otherwise the quality and firendliness of the staff was very good. Rooms were spacious, modern, clean and quiet.
