The hotel's website needs to update what amentities they have as they say they provide slippers and robes, which I asked for and they don't anymore.
Before arrival I asked if there was a kettle and a mini fridge, they said there wasn't a fridge but they could offer a spare kettle. I decided to take my own travel kettle in case as I would rely on it a lot. They provided me with a kettle though even though they couldn't guarantee it.
I asked if I could have a room near the lift and they did give me a room however it was an accessible room. It was spacious and the bathroom was basically a wet room. While there are handrails to hold on to, there was no seat or ledge built in to sit on and the floor had no anti-slip feature meaning that I almost slipped and fell when having a shower. I had to keep one of the towels on the floor to stand on to prevent slipping. There is a good hairdryer though. Also the bathroom products are 3-in-1 bottles; hair, body and handwash. One placed at the shower and one at the sink.
Overall it's a nice place to stay short term.

Failed to deliver promised facilities

When selecting a hotel to stay in whilst visiting a city you have never visited before you rely on the facilities the hotel promises. The Ibis Kaunas Centre failed to deliver on many counts. The promised bar didn't exist, the promised restaurant was never opened.
This is despite adverts for their tasty food in their lifts only breakfast was served.
My room was never cleaned during my 5 day stay; indeed my waste bucket wasn't even emptied.
Perhaps most disappointing was that despite pre-arrival requests for check in information, no mention was made by the hotel about the promised facilities being unavailable; nor indeed were we given the option of cancelling our reservation with a full refund so we could go somewhere that did offer the facilities we required. Staff were completely disinterested in my complaints. Poor customer service and a hotel that simply did not provide what it advertised. Very poor.

Get what you pay for…

Was decent enough for what I paid. Shower tiles showed signs of mould. No electrical sockets next to bed or next to mirror as wanted to dry hair after shower. (Luckily the wire reached closest to it). Breakfast was nice with plenty to choose from. Staff need to crack a smile from time to time.

Clean + pleasant hotel in Kaunas

Ibis Kaunas Centre is a good basic hotel. It is adjacent to the bus station, so convenient if you are arriving by bus. The walk to Freedom Alley and then on to the Old Town is not long and the hotel is close to a nice park and to the very interesting Sugihara House museum. I might recommend asking for a room facing the back because the street in front of the hotel is noisy. The breakfast was modest but good and the staff is professional and pleasant.

I would like to complain about the hotel in the booking I paid for, it says double room and double bed..the room I received was not double as it says on your website when I asked why I was told that the reference is to the size of the bed and not the size of the room .....This is a serious deception of the public and I demand to get the money I extracted back and I will not sue Expedia for misleading advertising

Very convenient location close to supermarket & restaurants etc, good menu selection in hotel restaurant, clean & tidy hotel with friendly staff. Staff very accommodating when requesting extra pillows due to surgery. The only downside was the size of the tv the fact it didn’t have smart tv facilities so you can log into Netflix etc as this would of been greatly appreciated due to being unable to do a lot after surgery.

Very good hotel in an average area.

Modern hotel, clean, roomy and next to the coach station and a short walk to the train station. Super nice and friendly staff that helped greatly. The only negative was the neighborhood was not vibrant. Safe but not convenient. Not a lot of dining choices nearby. However, you can take the local bus from right out front to old town where all the food, drink and site seeing is located.

The 29 bus from the airport stops just across the street from the hotel. The room was modern and comfortable, breakfast buffet very good. I also had an evening meal which was excellent as well. The city centre, river and parks are all short walks away. Leaving my luggage for a few hours when I checked out was no problem, and the train station is just down the road. Would definitely recommend.

A clean, comfortable hotel right next to the Central Bus Station and only a couple of hundred meters from the Railway Station. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. While too far to walk to the old city center, there are numerous buses leaving from the Bus Station.
There is also a large super market in the Bus Station. Very handy if you booked without breakfast.

The hotel is located an easy 5-10 minute walk from the train station, which is why I chose it. It's about a 30-40 minute walk to the old town castle, but there's plenty to see along the way so that's really not an issue. Staff was helpful, place was clean, and the WiFi was fast. No complaints!

Only had one night in Kaunas so wanted a base to explore the city from - esp the old town. Hotel is easily reached by the 29 bus from the airport which stops right outside BUT is a long walk to the Old Town which takes at least forty minutes. Shame as the hotel itself is perfect.

We booked through Expedia because the web page offered breakfast. The confirmation document did not confirm breakfast was included and sure enough there was a glitch. Hotel staff could see no record of my booking with brealfast!
They were great - they accepted my word and included breakfast. Not only that but breakfast was the highlight of our stay.
A truly magnificent start to the day.

This is a functional hotel, a few yards from the train station - which suited us as we arrived by train with a heavy rucksack. It has clearly recently been renovated and there is a big building project next door. The room was clean, warm and well designed. It is a bit of a walk to the old town.

i originally planned to stay at the hotel for one night, since it was very nice and clean i extended for another.
the most valuable asset is their friendly service, especially the staff at the front desk, they helped me to print out bus and train schedules going back to Vilnius, and allowed me to put things in safety deposit box after i had already checked out. without carrying valuables walking around the city was great for me.
the hotel is typical ibis, basic room but clean and functional. comfortable mattress.
this hotel is not in downtown location but in between the bus station and train station, within comfortable walking distance. bus 23, 35 and trolley 6A stop is just in front of the hotel which takes about 5, 6 stops to the old town, for 70cents Euro!
The only thing i would complain is the quilt, way too thick, and the air conditioning only works to about 22c, so it got very hot for me at night. I wish they could have thinner quilts for people not used to covering a lot.
but all in all, highly recommended! if i ever come back to kaunus, this will be the place i will stay for sure.

A lively hotel in Kaunas

Stayed here for three nights. For location, it is just next to the main coach station. However it could take you about 30-min walk to the old town.

For services, the staff was nice. The staff had given me a lively impression to this hotel. Very helpful too.

For room condition, it was similar to other ibis hotels. You could find all the basic amenities and facilities in the room. The room looked new and cozy.

Recommend this hotel if you don't mind to have a bit of walking between the hotel and the old town.

Ibis is a decent hotel, although it seemed to be rather cheaply built and some parts are already wearing off (e.g., yellowing at the edges of the shower stall). The shower gel dispenser was empty in our (though not others') bathroom, but granted they do promise to fix any issues like this immediately and we were just too tired to ask, so we ended up using our own toiletries. The location by the bus station is convenient for bus travelers as mentioned by others, but it will take ~30 min to walk to the old town, so people with cars (like us) may want to stay at a more central location. The hotel does have street parking spots right in front of the entrance that are monitored by cameras, which is a great feature. The breakfast buffet (included) was huge, but the eggs, the sausage and a few other items I tried somehow tasted off. Overall, we had a comfortable stay for the price we paid, but I wasn't too enthusiastic about this hotel. 3-4 star hotels in Vilnius that were only slightly more expensive had so much more character, as subjective as this criterion is.

A comfortable couple of nights in Kaunas

A couple of nights while in transit to Warsaw. Arrived via bus and there was the hotel, no troubles finding it. Very convenient location but a fair walk to the old town - catching a bus is recommended. The room was clean and comfortable although spoiled by the fact we appeared to have the corridors used as a runway by a noisy junior sports team :( Breakfast was excellent with fresh bread and a good variety of cheeses, cold meats, pastries, cereals etc- all you could eat. Breakfast was spoiled a bit by lack of space - again due to a sporting carnival held in Kaunas and the sports team staying at the hotel.

This is a wonderful hotel right next to the bus station, which was perfect for us. We stayed at the hotel both upon our arrival in Kaunas and a week later, before departing Kaunas by bus, after touring Lithuania. The hotel staff was terrific: upon our first arrival, they were ready for us even though we arrived early, letting us check in a few hours prior to check in time; they were friendly, efficient and helpful, answering all of our questions and giving us useful and important information. When a band of about 8 teen-agers parked themselves in the hallway right next to our room on our floor and were generally loud and annoying, the staff very quickly had them leave, before we even had the chance to make a complaint. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There were four of us traveling together, and the staff gave us rooms very close to each other. The breakfast was delicious. The restaurant in this hotel is excellent, and we enjoyed at least three wonderful meals there.

Arrived at the hotel at 12:00, had no issues with checking-in and the receptionist was very friendly, even going so far as to teach me a few words of the native language.

The room, a double, was very pleasant. The room was bright and clean, the bed was very soft, and the bathroom was tidy.

Breakfast the next morning was very good, a large platter was available, even with a number of other guests eating at the same time. The staff at the Oopen, bar and restaurant, were easy to talk to, and very welcoming. We chatted quite a lot and discussed numerous things. The food in the restaurant was delicious, and well priced.
