The property is beautiful, great location, decor, amenities, it really is the best place to stay in Ushuaia. The staff is realty nice, polite, very helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable, the only problem we had the first night was to figure out that there was a blackout curtain behind two other curtains, I wish we were informed as it was a little uncomfortable to sleep with the windows uncovered when it gets dark at midnight and light at 5 am. One other suggestion to make the stay perfect is for the restaurant to serve the food faster as it took quite a long time after ordering for the food to arrive.

This is an amazing property that is located about 15 minutes from the airport and downtown. It is in a gated community directly on the waterfront and it was fabulous. We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the restaurant and the food was amazing. The pool and hot tubs overlook the water and they were included. Staff was so attentive and friendly. The gift store in the hotel had all Argentinian items. The hotel has a shuttle that will take you to the cruise port, airport or to the downtown area. There is a small beach that you can walk on right in front of the hotel and lots of walking areas. We would definitely stay here again and our stay was too short.

I have traveled to some of the most sort after destination from Dubai, New York, Miami, Las Vegas, Paris , Thailand etc and stayed in many 5 Star Hotels. I felt so much at home at Los Cauquenes Resort Spa, the staff very professional and management was excellent. I apologize for not having more pesos and cash on hand for the staff. I am looking forward to my next visit and I will come prepared. I was treated like a VIP , wine, sweet treats in the room and on my bed. This experience made my stay in Ushuaia very special. Incredible team behind this operation.

What a wonderful hotel this is! Their biggest asset? You might think the view, the incredible spa, the delicious breakfast… well all those things are indeed worth the stay alone but their biggest asset is the crew. Everyone from the front desk to the cleaning team I just absolutely lovely.
May is low season so they remodel parts of the hotel while being partially opened, this is so hard to balance but this team managed to do a fantastic job any problem was acknowledge and solved with a smile.
The hotel is NOT too far away and Ubers are very quick and reliable in Ushuaia so do not hesitate to satay here.

Hotel and service is amazing; however, they decided to fix the carpet and there were a terrible/strong smell of a chemical that caused a headache and nausea. We were not notified of this work. We got there from our tour and all windows were open because of the smell, not to mention that there was a heavy rain/air and we needed to be in our coats/jackets because of this. We reported our concern to the front office and the answer was that they needed to repair the carpet and didn't expect that smell. There were cero communication to the guests and not an apology at all.

Nice staff, good food and not in the center of Ushaia. Bed was comfortable. Shuttle downtown or to the dock was good although not necessarily on time. Pool and hot tubs/sauna were nice to have handy, and fitness room had everything necessary right down to a TRX. One problem is that explanations of excursions are not very clear unless you speak fluent Spanish and the concierge knows the timing and length. We were told that a boat trip to the penguins was 4.5 hours, but it turned out that to get to the penguins was 4.5 hours. In rough seas it was an very long unexpected day. Even with threse problems, I recommend it.

The tours the hotel offers are a must, specially the pingüinera tour (not offered year round since penguins migrate). The hotel uses its own transportation and even own boat. The well appointed hotel is wonderful and delightfully restful with its spa and pool facilities. Refreshment at the spa include delicious apples and cool lemon and cucumber water, very refreshing and welcoming.
We got an upgrade for free and had the mountain and water views that has sunlight from morning till sunset, blissful!
The breakfast with various fruits are excellent as well. A very good stay indeed! Highly recommend anyone who want some quietness and stunning views and food.

it was not worth the money I paid for it. it's not a 5 start hotel which is what I thought I was paying for. the room furniture is outdated and very simple. there was a group of 90 staying at this hotel and it was loud, wi-fi was not working. Overall, the value is not there.

Great place to relax

I spent six days in a room with a magnificent view of mountains and Beagle Canal.
Very clean, quiet and far away from the city.
The hotel staff was great. No complaints at all. Food was great also the breakfast.
All the excursión the hotel offers are a must do. The spa is something to enjoy everyday. The jacuzzi on the deck looking the white mountains. It’s a dream....
I would go back again to this hotel !!

Too far to walk, and no shuttle service at dinner

The only issue we had is that this hotel is quite a distance out of town. Although the hotel provided a shuttle service most of the time, it did not provide the service durning evening dinner hours. This then required you to either eat in the hotel ( likely why there is no shuttle service) or take a taxi in and back for dinner, which adds to the cost of your evening.

Wonderful stay at the end of the world

We checked into Los Cauquenes Resort & Spa after completing the W Trek in Chile and hiking to Fitz Roy in Chalten. After lots of camping and shared rooms/bathrooms, staying here was absolute bliss. We were greeted with hot chocolate and upgraded to a room with a view of the Beagle Channel (absolutely stunning). The room was clean and comfortable, and we spent several hours in the spa which has an indoor/outdoor pool and both indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Concierge and staff were helpful and attentive. Wi-fi was the fasted we had encountered since leaving Santiago. The only con of this hotel is that it is at least 5 km removed from downtown Ushuaia. The free shuttle service hours didn't always mesh with our schedule, so we ended paying more for taxis/remis than we would have had we stayed closer to the city center. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice Pace but Loses Out to Arakur

We recently stayed both at Los Cauquenes as well as Arakur - apparently the two best hotels in Ushuaia. While the hotel is fine, unfortunately in direct comparison Los Cauquenes loses out to Arakur: The mini bar in the room at Arakur is free - had to pay for drinks from the mini bar at Los Cauquenes. The staff happily arranged for free transport to either the airport or our cruise departure at Arakur - at Los Cauquenes they gave us confusing messages that either airport transfer but also pickup downtown would cost extra. It's those small things that in the end make a difference. Los Cauquenes overall also seems a bit more dated with a more log cabin feel whereas Arakur is very modern with a huge lobby and inviting bar on the main floor. Another odd thing at Los Cauquenes: The head board of our bed was made with what seemed to be a grid of stretched animal hides/leather. Even as a non-vegetarian I found this odd and unappealing. I don't want my head to be touching old animal skin in the middle of the night. Lastly: the pizza we had for lunch at the restaurant at Los Cauquenes was without exaggeration the worst pizza both my partner and I had in our entire life: pre-made from frozen dough, drowned in cheese so I couldn't even make out any other toppings and undercooked.

Don't get me wrong: The hotel overall is nice and has amazing views. Just in direct comparison I'd go to Arakur again next time. It was an overall more pleasant experience.

The suite is highly recommended. Good price and a private balcony to an amazing lake and mountains view for an affordable price. The best view of the city is in that room. The staff is very polite and the hotel is beatiful. The food is great and the spa is nice. I would’ve stayed for a couple of days more, not for the city but for the hotel. In my experience, El calafate is a much better town but this hotel is the best considering both places.

Zero sound control and disinterested staff

The positive: the view from the rooms is nice and the rooms are large, nice shower and amenities.
The negative: The walls are thin as paper. Every footstep, zipper being pulled, closet door being opened/closed, shower, TV, lovemaking, and word from the room next door can be heard as if your neighbors are in the room with you. The staff seemed uninterested in supporting us, telling us simply to call the room and ask them to be quiet otherwise they couldn't help us. The staff otherwise is very disinterested, they did not seem to care whether we enjoyed Ushuaia or not (other than pushing the hotel-organized tours). It was clear that if we weren't reserving one of their tours, they did not care about answering our questions about things to do and places to eat (speaking of - restaurant staff is just as lazy). When we reserved a taxi ahead of time, they gave it away to other guests that came by before we got to the lobby forcing us to wait another 15 minutes for another taxi to arrive. If you ask 5 different staff members the same question, you will get 5 different answers (such as estimated taxi costs, park opening ties, shuttle schedule, etc.) If you do make the mistake of staying here, my tip would be to talk to the shuttle bus drivers - they were the only ones who seemed genuinely caring, helpful and informed.

PRO: Breathtaking views of the Beagle Channel from the common areas and our hotel room. Good service and impeccable condition of the facilities. Good breakfast. Fantastic outdoor hot tub.
CONS: Getting to the hotel on your own is very difficult. There are no signals AT ALL and GPS/Google Maps are useless because the hotel is in a private urbanization, so the inner streets are not identified by smartphone apps. The mattress of our queen bed was not comfortable (too hard; not fluffy at all). L'Occitane amenities were announced in the room description but not offered in our bedroom. The quality of the shampoo and conditioner in the Spa was bad and not properly labeled. The pool area does not have anti-skid floor.

We spent 3 nights at the lovely hotel, including one wonderful dinner. The views of The Beagle Channel are amazing, from the lobby to the spa to our room, which was water-facing. The staff was very helpful. The food was excellent - both breakfast buffet, and dinner. The spa was nice. The indoor/outdoor pool, and the indoor and outdoor hot tubs were really nice. The view of the channel from the pools is fantastic. The hotel provides a shuttle into town - which would be nice if it ran a little more often (than once an hour).

The resort is a tad worn, looks sort of like its a ski resort that has been through a rough winter. The staff is gracious and helpful. There is a nice walk up a nearby hill that has great views over the Beagle Channel. I had a suite for two nights. The room doesn't have a temperature control and was too warm for my liking, but that wasn't really a problem, I just opened the windows. Loved sleeping with the curtains and windows open looking out over the darkness of the Channel and the stars. Its easy to get a taxi to get into town and to and from the airport. The resort is located in a restricted access \"exclusive\" neighborhood in Ushuaia.

The other option for a 5* hotel in Ushuaia is the Arakur. I stayed in both. They are sort of apples and oranges, I don't recommend one over the other. If anything, I recommend a stay at both because both are wonderful hotels.

Absolutely immaculate facility situated on the edge of the beach with the mountains of Chile visible across the channel. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The breakfast service was impeccable. Nice spa, too. Can't wait to go back.
