Stayed one night but the rooms were comfortable and well sized for a queen room. everything was clean and the hotel was quiet. front desk staff was very friendly. the price was fantastic and included a typical argentinian breakfast buffet. the hotel is up the hill, and a little outside the main downtown area. it is a short walk into the \"downtown\" as the city is quite small, otherwise ubers are very inexpensive.

The place was very nice, especially for the price. A little away from the centre of town and up a bit of a hill, but not hard to get to and still walkable. We liked their nod to the indigenous peoples of the area and hope it was in a respectful way (felt like it). Nice breakfast included and room was quiet.

Good, but Hot!

The room was very nice and clean with a lot of space. It’s a little outside of the main area of town, but was still a good location.

My only real issue was the room was soooo HOT and we could not get the heat down. The shower had a very strong pressure which at the wrong angle, got water all over the bathroom floor.

They had luggage storage for our check out time and breakfast until 10am that was okay

Nice hotel with a unique “quadruple“ room that was perfect for us, two room “suite“ with a queen bed in one room, and two twin beds, in the other, and one bathroom.

Nice and helpful staff, free breakfast in the morning, which was delicious.

Loved the apartment \"room\"

Our family of 5 stayed in the apartment with 3 bedrooms and loved it. Very clean and cozy, beds were super comfy. The apartment felt secluded from rest of hotel so didn't hear any other guests when trying to sleep. Could hear traffic a bit, but playing white noise covered that noise right up.

Staff was hugely helpful, and even tidied our apartment. It had all the benefits of an Airbnb and hotel at the same time.

Very helpful they changed dollars to pesos at a good rate too.

The place is ok, the beds are comfy, the staff is friendly. Its super noisy, like i could hear the cars next to mr from outside and i was on a third level. There is a restaurant on the property only open for breakfast until 10 and dinner. You cant bring food from outside, so if you are tired and its lunch time, no one cares you gotta get up and find a restaurant. Water you had to pay for. It just seemed a little inconvenient for us (we are a family of 5)

The sink in the bathroom is so tiny you end up spilling water all over the floor when you wash your hands or your face. Quite a walk to the center of town. It’s down the hill so you have to walk up the hill to get back. Breakfast is mediocre.

Mixed experience. Probably 50/50.

The main good thing is all staff that I spoke to, including the housekeeper, were nice and friendly. The room looks modern and the bed was very comfortable. The bedsheet feels and smells fresh. The housekeeper did a great job to keep the room clean and tidy everyday.

The main bad thing is about the level of noise you can hear in the room, and I’m not talking about the noise from the outside. It was like I could hear everything that the room next door was talking word-by-word. I could also hear the mobile phone vibrating on the table, let alone the ringtone. I checked the wall, and it seemed to be just a plasterboard which may not have been insulated at all - and god knows how thin it is between rooms. The breakfast was average, but at least it keeps me going until lunchtime.

During my visit (Apr’19) there was some construction work going on, but the work itself didn’t take place when I was at the property.

Good option for hotel near center of town

Hosteria America is located near the center of the city, about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the center of the business district. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast, included in room rates, is mostly made up of cookies, cakes, and bread with some fresh fruit and yogurt available also. Rooms were a good size, bed was comfortable, and bathroom was modern. An electric kettle is provided for boiling water for tea or coffee, but the tea/coffee were not provided. We were happy with our stay.

Pleasant stay in Ushuaia

This hotel is a fine choice for a few nights' stay in Ushuaia. It is clean, cozy, and comfortable. Nothing jaw-dropping or astounding, room-wise, but the rooms are more modern than the exterior and the lobby of the hotel would have you think. The entire place feels homey and welcoming, and staff is wonderful and warm. Great views of the channel and mountains. Water pressure in the shower was fantastic! Breakfast is modest but sufficient, and the dinner we had one night in the hotel restaurant was lovely. The location is about a few blocks from the main drag; we had a car, but it's easy enough to walk (though the entire city is built up a hill, so be warned if your knees aren't the greatest). Highly recommend!

You do have to walk up a hill to get there but it's quite manageable and good exercise and this hosteria is about half the price of something along the waterfront. It only takes five minutes to walk to town.

This is an OK hotel on a hill about 15 minutes from the harbor and city center. The people who liked it all seem to have stayed in the penthouse room. Or room on the second floor was badly in need of a makeover. The sheets were dingy, the bed was two mattresses shoved together. Basic things like a place to hang towels were missing and the whole place reeked with an overwhelming amount of air freshener. Although the room was clean, the furniture and carpet are so worn that they seemed as though they could never be clean. The breakfast was adequate, but no espresso/coffee machine like in many hotels. The bar/restaurant is cozy and nice, with a good music selection, but most of the bottles of liquor on display are empty. This is a beer/wine kind of place.

The biggest bright spot was that the staff were super helpful and gracious.

We had 2 different stays (before and after a trip to Antarctica). We were in a small double room for our first stay and a large suite with a small whirlpool bath for our 2nd stay. They price difference between the two rooms was not great and the larger suite was well worth the difference. This is basically a family run hotel & restaurant and the service could not have been better. Front desk was very helpful and the restaurant food was very good. Excellent location - not far from either the airport or port and a short walk (10 minutes) to town.

Hostería America's location offers an easy walk to downtown Ushuaia restaurants and sites of interest. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. They made numerous special accommodations and were always glad to offer advice. While more modest than some alternatives, the rooms were clean and the staff friendly. We greatly enjoyed our stay.

Exactly what was needed in Ushuaia

This accommodation - at the most southern city on earth - is just what we needed - a comfortable place to explore the city and from which to pursue excursions. The staff was very responsive, allowing us to store a couple of bags while we went on an excursion to Punta Arenas, via the Via Australis and returning back via the bus. Minor maintenance requests were addressed by the staff. The city is built on a hill - and the hotel is on a quiet street above the main activity center - therefore - we could go to the grocery store, ATM, etc. and return to a quiet place up on the hill.

In ne faisait que 8° dehors, les radiateurs de la chambre étaient éteints et malgré tout il faisait très chaud dans la chambre. C'était un peu inconfortable pour le sommeil.

Great hotel to stay before our trip to Antarctica

Hotel is clean and comfortable, the only remark is that the heating was super high the entire time and we heard several other people at reception complaining that it feels like 45 degrees in the room. We opened the windows and that mainly solved the issue.
The location is good, walking distance to the port and many restaurants and the staff was helpful
