We arrived before 10 but the staff told us the kitchen and room-service was closed, even though the website says it doesn’t close until 10.

It was not possible to book almost anything at the spa since staff told us there was no availability, even though we barely saw any other guest in the spa area.

The hotel is nice, but a bit overpriced.

Decent hotel in a great location.

Nice hotel with potential. The hotel is situated on the top of the city in a park which is great. Overall we had nice stay. The service was good and the rooms clean.

Why potential?
The furniture and decor is kind of old school for example they use purple lights in the evening which was cool in the 90s, now it looks a little bit cheap. The rooms lack a cozy atmosphere..
The Spa area could be a little bit warmer. Especially the pool is small therefore the temperature should be higher because its not really used to swim but rather relax in the water.
With a nice design concept the hotel has great potential.

A very pleasant hotel at a perfect and quiet location, probably the best place to stay in the area. Small oddities like the need to explicitly request bathrobe and slippers were quickly addressed by the staff. The need to bring the own bathroom towels to the spa / pool / fitness area was not welcome on our side. The A/C was not up to the task on a hot day, but is probably adequate most of the year. On the food side a nice breakfast buffet secured a good start into the day and dinner was good too.

The Schlosshotel Bad, Wilhelmshöhe is a wonderful hotel. It is situated in a beautiful park. The room was large and very clean and the breakfast was delicious. We stayed there as we were in Kassel for a family wedding and I think we were the only British people there, but we were treated very well. I would recommend this hotel.

I left my luggage for storage after check-out. Upon coming back I see it standing freely next to a counter a few steps from the sliding doors that lead outside. I could not only see my luggage but a bag from another guest, from outside the entrance. I took my stuff and left. Then, since noone stopped me or took notice I went back inside to complain. I was met with complete indifference, altough anyone could have stolen our luggage and the bag of another hotel guest. I have never witnessed anything like that in my visits to hundreds of hotels. For me this is an absolute deal breaker.

The staff are so lovely and the grounds were beautiful! We loved the garden with the pond and chair swings. We also loved the swimming pool in the spa area. We traveled with our nine year old daughter and it was very family friendly! Lots to do and see nearby! Would love to come back again!

The location of this hotel is fabulous! Right next door to the park and famous waterfalls! The meal we ate at the restaurant was also very pleasant and breakfast was exceptionally good.

My only observation was that the ladies at reception during check in could have been a little happier to see us (one in particular). Instead there was no smile and she let me translate everything. It just seemed a little frosty, no mention of the check out time or where breakfast is of parking fees, but the gentlemen during checkout were quite the opposite and were much happier.

The location was amazing. The hotel itself is nothing impressive but quite good for a stay at this outstanding location. We were given a room overlooking the gravel covered low roof but the reception refused to replace it with a better one saying that we had booked a \"classic\" room. They finally agreed to give us a room one floor higher but also overlooking the low roof. We understood that they were overbooked for a conference. Breakfast was excellent at an amazingly low price.

Great stay at this location. Staff very helpful and courteous. Arrived on 12/15 and were advised that restaurant would have a wait. We decided to go for room service, worked out well for our family. Food was delivered within 25 mins. We also got an additional bed for our son when we asked for one. Breakfast was amazing, lots of food options and live cook for omelets. After checkout we walked across the street to enjoy the Schlosspark a little bit. Had a great stay at this place and can highly recommend it.

Beautiful modern hotel set in the a castle park in the black Forrest- Schloss Whilhemshohoe. Everything is impeccable. It's remote, that's because it's located in a historic park, but it's easy to get the tram downtown to Kassel. I'm looking forward to another visit. Did I mention the spa? D

Excellent hotel - but greedy penny pinching spoils

First the good points. This is a modern hotel, fast wifi is free, the room was excellent, the area quiet for a good sleep and the breakfast buffet one of the best I have had for a long time. The hotel is located within a beautiful publicly owned park. Now to the bad things. At £ 147 per night, this is not a cheap hotel. Yet there were not enough papers available in the breakfast lounge and when I requested the reception to let me have a newspaper, I was charged Euro 1.70. Although there are acres of parking space available and the car park is secured by a barrier, they charge Euros 8.00 per night. In my experience, considering the room rate, this is greedy. On balance, the hotel is over priced, value for money it is not. Before moving to Kassel, I stayed in a hotel of equal standard in Erfurt (Linderhof), at roughly half the price, all included. I shall not return, sorry.

The fourth hotel of a road trip and by far the least impressive.
Good points
- helpful reception staff. They changed my room after having initially given me a room in the entrance corridor joining the carpark and reception which was very noisy. This is the first time that I've requested a room change in any hotel.
- Good evening buffet (albeit pricey at 40 euros each)
- Friendly, helpful staff in dining room.
- Clean room
Bad points
- thin towels, one worn through with a large hole.
- shower head would not stay in place when water pressure applied. Faced the wall and slid down the shower pole. Needed to be held throughout to direct water.
- Visably lumpy pillows, uncomfortable bed.
- Chaotic breakfast service with an unattended list of entitled room numbers at the entrance. Insuffucient tables and noone to co-ordinate seating, people were wandering around with plates trying to find somewhere to sit. No scrambled eggs or fried eggs left and large queue for omlettes. (the eggs were replenished after half an hour).

The best thing about it was its proximity to the park, but a far from relaxing experience and unfortunately I wouldnt be able to recommend it.

We came to Kassel to hike around Wilhelmshohe Bergpark and had a great time doing that. The Hotel location is absolutely perfect and the staff were great. The staff were very helpful and provided us with any and all information we needed for a comfortable stay. The only main complaint I had was the wifi was pretty poor. I could never manage to get it to work and stay working. constant drop offs. Who knows - maybe it was a higher power telling me to turn my phone off and just disconnect altogether!

We had a great one night stay at Kassel. We made a mistake with the dates in our reservation which we only discovered when checking in. The front desk staff sorted this out in a very efficient and flexible way. Besides nice and spacious rooms we loved the location. The hotel is located just across the Wilhelmshöhe Palace surrounded by the beautiful Bergpark, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We were a bit disappointed about the dinner, but the breakfast on the other hand was outstanding. Driving from Italy to Sweden this was a perfect hotel for an overnight to break the journey.

The hotel lobby and decoration is 4 stars. The room itself was pretty standard, 3 star standard with no A/C. The pool was smaller than in photos. Amenities are a bit disappointing. The dining room area for breakfast buffet was excellent though! Finally, I felt like I was in a 4 star hotel.

Major roadwork around hotel access road

Nice hotel but runs quite basic. Great location and nice garden, views but the extensive road works currently in approach road make it noisy outside. I steed in the annex - no lift - so it was a pain carrying my suitcases up and down the stairs. I should have upgraded from the comfort rooms to the deluxe rooms to avoid this.

Beautiful location, great food, lackluster service

The main attraction of the Schlosshotel is its location in the beautiful Bergpark Wilhelmshoehe. The largest of its kind, the park contains a castle, aqueduct, waterfalls, a fortress, a massive statue of Herkules and jogging trails.

Breakfast at the hotel was extensive, with fresh breads, yogurt, customized eggs, bacon, smoked salmon, and fresh fruit. The menu items were very good, from the signature salad (generous size with choice of shrimp, turkey or other toppings), to local specialties such as \"weckewerk\".

Customer service at the Schlosshotel was poor. Staff were unhelpful; inquiries were treated as bothersome. Housekeeping was disruptive, needing frequent access to the room (four times on one day - twice for cleaning, once to check the non-existent mini bar and once to check the outlets). The soap ran out, and was not refilled until we complained two days later. Staff once failed to lock the door upon leaving.

Hotel parking, for nine nights on the outskirts of the city, inexplicably cost 60 Euros. The elevator closest to our room was out of service for the duration of our stay and the mattresses in the room felt like sleeping in a hammock.

On the whole, quality of food and proximity to the Bergpark were not enough to make up for terrible housekeeping, expensive parking and uncomfortable beds. In future I will simply stop by the hotel for a meal - parking is free if you dine at the hotel, but not if you are a paying guest (even when dining daily).

Prima hotel, grenzend aan een prachtig bergpark. Zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk personeel. Comfort van de bedden is goed. Ontbijt en eetgelegenheid goed. Wij verbleven daar 4 nachten in de zomer van 2025 (met onze hond). De kamer was wel warm. Aanwezige airco funktioneert niet. Verder zeker een aanrader!

Hotel with excellent location for a visit to Schloss Wilhelmhöhe.
The room was quite dated, beds semi-comfortable, the mattress in the extra bed dipped in the middle.
Food and service at lunch was ok, but didn’t impress.
Having said all this, I should also add that breakfast was excellent and so was the outdoor pool area. We didn’t use the spa, but it looked beautiful. However, the spa staff provided great service to us at the outdoor pool as well.

Alles in allem ein tolles Hotel

Tolles Zimmer in der Remise mit wundervolle grossem Bett und sehr guten Matrazen. Insbesondere die Grösse machen einen längeren Aufenthalt doch sehr angenehm. Wir waren 5 Nächte dort über Weihnachten. Der Weg ins Haupthaus durch den Regen ist etwas ärgerlich aber nicht zu ändern. Frühstück reichhaltig.
Wellness für unseren Geschmack etwas klein und das Wasser im Pool deutlich zu kalt für einen behaglichen Aufenthalt.
Einziges echtes Ärgerniss war die Berechnung von 15EUR für eine verlorene Zimmerkarte. Das habe ich auf all meinen Reisen noch nie erlebt. Ich bin seit 6 Jahren Platin Elite bei Bonvoy, seit 10Jahren Gold bei Hotels.com und allein dieses Jahr über 70 Nächte in Hotels verbracht. Noch nie wurde mir eine Gebühr für eine Plastikkarte in Rechnung gestellt. Das ist nicht mehr zeitgemäss. Sollte die Behauptung stimmen das die Karten 13EUR im Einkauf kosten, dann wird es Zeit für ein Upgrade.

Aber Parkgebühr wurde gewaived und das ist prima gewesen. Danke

Modernes und hochwertiges Hotel. Frühstück, Resautaurant , Café alles top. Spa super mit Natursee und Blick in die Ferne. Lage - geht nicht besser, direkt im / am „Herkules“

Preise passen nicht zu denen die per App gebucht werden. Inventar mittlerweile sehr veraltet und teilweise kaputt. Frühstück mehr schlecht als recht. Rundum extrem überteuert!

Heerlijk hotel

Mooi hotel op een prachtige locatie met vriendelijk personeel. Wij maakten gebruik van het kerstdiner wat ontzettend goed verzorgd was. We hebben genoten van het verblijf en het eten.

Minpuntje was dat er geen mogelijkheid was om koffie/thee op de kamer te zetten. Iets wat je wel mag verwachten in een hotel in deze prijsklasse.

Verder was het in het hele hotel enorm warm. In het restaurant zelfs zo warm waardoor iemand onwel werd.
