Very quiet, clean, and comfortable stay. The location was convenient and made it easy to visit the old town. The parking lot felt a bit open and could have used a bit more security, but overall, everything was great. Would definitely stay here again!

We had payed for 2 adults and a child at 10 years old. There was no bed for the child and the receptionist said that the child could sleep in the bed with us. She said that it was Hotels.com that made and mistake and not the hotel- it was a vary bad experience

Area outside of the property looks super sketchy and run down but ill say its normal since the main train station is a short walk away and theres tons of foot traffic. This place has free parking which is obviously great! Here are some of the not so great things: the building faces the sun so it was super hot in our room, the AC unit does not do the bare minimum so we had to open up the window which if you're ok with outside noises you'll be good otherwise you'll have an uncomfortable night. The police station is right next door so be prepared for random loud sirens throughout the night (extra loud if the window is opened). The shades in the room are not the widest so don't expect a super dark room, it was super hard falling asleep since there was still tons of light out. The amenities are also not the greatest, they had a vending machine but it was out of order which sucked because the drinks at reception were more expensive. I dont think I would come back to stay here again.

We stayed in the hotel two nights, the second time, in a few years. The room was very comfortable and large (we had the suite). The hotel is centrally located, right next to the central station and within walking distance from the center. There is free parking nearby. The price relative to the room we received was excellent.

Room wasn’t cleaned; garbage bin was still full from previous guests and one of the bath towels had a massive hair ball attached to it.
When we informed the front desk, we got a halfhearted „oh, that is bad“ and we were sent off. No real apology, no „can we help/do something for you“, nothing!

Had a really night one night stay at Grand Tulip. Rooms are clean, bed is large and very comfortable, bathroom is nice. I used the small gym facility downstairs and the sauna, which were so nice! Located directly off the Kassel Hbf, one minute walk which was really convenient since I arrived late in the evening. The front desk staff helped me find my bus transportation to my next location after I checked out and printed out directions, very helpful. Great experience overall and would stay there again.

Th hotel is situated very near the old town. We had a room with a balcony that looked over the park and some lovely Hills nearby. The breakfast was outstanding. There were no toiletries in the bathroom, which appears to be the case in most four star German hotels.

It is located in very convenient and safe area. Room itself is impeccable, clean and quiet. Bedding is comfortable. Staffs are friendly. I can't expect more. I really enjoyed staying here and definitely use it again when I visit Kassel for next Documenta.

Perfect location and large rooms

I had a great stay at the Golden Tulip Kassel. I was there for documenta, and the hotel was ideally located and very comfortable. The room was large, and the bathroom was recently updated with a fantastic shower--perfect after a long day of art viewing. I'd definitely stay here again!

Nice modern design and very clean room in a location (near the train station) where you don't always find these qualities. The air conditioning for the hotel as a whole was not functioning during my stay, but the staff were apologetic and provided electric fans that were an adequate substitute, given the mild weather.

Good stay for the Documenta 14 & Station

At 8.30am, suddenly a cleaning person came in as she was knocking i.e. we could not ask her not to come in or no requirement of room service on our day 2 of staying. It is only shower in the bathroom, but if you are not bothered by this, it is great for access to the town centre, station, bus, tram (with a bit of walk) and Documenta venues.

We were just passing through, so location wasn't that important. This hotel is close to train station and some streets not so attractive. Also hotel parking is behind the hotel and has bad paving. Unloading luggage is also problematic since the entrance is one story above steers level with stairs, so need to walk further to use side street access.

A refreshing exception to the norm. The hotel looked average until entering then it became evident it was ultra modern with quality fittings everywhere. The type of hotel you do not want to be leaving when the time comes to go. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The dining room was delightful and sadly only for breakfast. The breakfast was one of the best you could find anywhere as everything was thought about and provided.

Nice hotel close to the train station in Kassel

The hotel is not easy to spot from the outside. No clear sign. Also difficult to locate the parking lot for the same reason. Exterior appearance is very plain. But once you step inside the modern design is quite apparent. The suite we had on the top floor was well designed: very modern bathroom, nice bedroom and a small living room with desk and sofa to relax.
For international people TV had a very limited choice of,options and nothing international. there is also no restaurant in the hotel but they do serve breakfast (buffet).
Quite a range of restaurants within walking distance.
For the famous Kassel park it is about 10 min away by car. Or by tram.

Totally recommended

This is a surprisingly good hotel. I was expecting something more simple, but was pleasantly surprised when I got here. The hotel is modern and very well appointed. The room is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is of high variety and quality. Its location was not the reason I chose this hotel, but I have to say that it is unbeatable, just across the square from the train station and right downtown.

Everything about the hotel was very nice. I actually use to live here in Kassel seven(7)years ago. I lived here for three(3)years. The area of town is not the best, but it's not bad either. Right across the street is the main train station. (if you didn't rent a car) Lot's of places to eat, that are close by the hotel. If you want to get a cold one and be around people that speak English then go to the Shamrock Pub. Those boys from Ireland will take good care of you! The hotel is very clean and very nice. The people that work there are friendly and helpful.

The actual hotel and the website represented hotel are two different things. That doesn't mean the hotel is a bad place to stay, just that they had a really good marketing firm take the pictures from just the right angles.
The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and it's right in the center of town across from the train station. If I was traveling by train this is where I would stay.
The hotel parking lot is not very nice (being kind), very spacious, just not someplace I'd be late at night. The restaurant is only open for breakfast, so you're walking to the pedestrian area for dinner (about five minute walk). The breakfast is very nice and has about twice what you get at other hotels.

Great Parks in Kassel Rent a car, driving in Germany is easy and finding your way using a GPS makes driving very easy.

Wir wäre äußerst Zufrieden. Die Betten waren gemütlich, das Zimmer schön sauber und die Gegend perfekt um auch zu Fuß alles zu erreichen. Kostenlose Parkplätze standen zur Verfügung und das Personal war sehr freundlich.
