This is the second time we’ve stayed here and our stay has been brilliant. The rooms are spotless, spacious and comfortable. All of the staff we encountered, from receptionists to cleaning staff were really welcoming and great ambassadors for the hotel. The hotel facilities are great; the pool is lovely and padel court was a great surprise to us! No matter what time you go for breakfast, the selection of food is fresh and vast. One of the best things about the hotel is how quiet it is, so peaceful. Thank you again for another excellent stay

The hotel location is amazing, close to the main beaches and full of local restaurants around. The breakfast was very good!
The room was big and comfortable. The only downside of the hotel is not having a very helpful staff. They were friendly and kind, but didn’t help with information about how to get to some beaches. Me and my friends lost some precious time of the trip because we were told to go to Cala Turqueta by bus, from Ciutadella. We got there and found out that the bus ticket had to be bough in advance. We lost 1h30 of that sunny day just because we were not given the correct information. So don’t expect to get information from the hotel. Also don’t expect to get any help to carry your luggage up the stairs to your room. There were a lot of stairs, especially if your room is on the last floor. Apart from that, the experience was good and we would come back!

A decent option

Overall I found this hotel decent. The room was very clean and the terrace large. The room had a fridge, hot plates, and microwave. The area is very busy and seems to be largely British tourist dominated. Also, the hotel is up a fairly large hill from the beach area.

2 big downsides- the evening entertainment takes place directly facing many of the terraces, and in my opinion was terribly disruptive. It’s far too loud, nobody is watching, and totally ruins what’s otherwise a tranquil environment.

The breakfast was disappointing, and other guests were repeatedly touching buffet items with their hands - which the hotel can’t control but was gross nonetheless.

Great stay, super recommended!

Hotel is very well located in Cala Galdana. The room was actually an apartment, with all the kitchen elements to cook if needed and a great balcony. We combined our beach holidays with a cycling bootcamp, and the hotel was perfect for bike storage and washing/drying clothes from one day to the other. Would recommend to anyone, specially for families with small children.

Had a great stay at here. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean but the beds were quite uncomfortable and only have minimal kitchen equipment but it’s enough for basic meals. The hotel location is great - just a short walk from the beach and local super markets. We really enjoyed our visit.

An extremely clean contemporary hotel in the most beautiful coastal town. Cala Galdana is stunning. The hotel is set back a short walk down hill to the lovely beach, resturants and shops.
The pool is super and great for kids.
Downsides- music a bit loud and not to everyones taste at poolside. Dinner is served from 8.30pm and the rooms could do with a little colour - pictures, decor.
Small sea view from poolside and more of a view further up in the complex.
It is small enough to get around quickly and quiet if based furrher back.
Reasonable price in quite an expensive town.

Overall staff is friendly and nice, waiters are really kind. We enjoyed our stay. Location is perfect, easy to reach, enough parking space. Room is renovated, but we HATED the double bed, as it was just two single beds put together and they were always moving, leaving a hole in the middle. We stayed for a week, our sheets have not been replaced. It is quite clean, the swimming pool and around it could be cleaner. We think it's a good value for money.

Basic but clean apartments

Initially put into room 104, which is ground floor and balcony facing a wall. We complained about it and the lack of a kettle, and were then transferred to a room overlooking the pool on the 3rd floor, and when we got there a kettle had been put in the room too. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The rooms were basic, with very few utensils, glasses etc, but were clean and adequate. Cala Galdana as a place itself is beautiful

Great value in Cala Galdana

Wonderful setting overlooking Cala Galdana, recently renovated, clean and comfortable for a very good price. Not a high end hotel (basic functional furniture and decoration) but the rooms are very large, all of them with kitchenette living room and a private terrace. Very nice pool area and varied breakfast buffet. Free private parking on hotel grounds although in high season it’s usually full, parking nearby is not hard though.

Good place for a family stay...

Hotel overall was great, parking is a hit or miss given the lack of and how close everyone parks to each other - plus it’s a tight space to get in or out of. The property is nice and clean, family oriented and the breakfast buffet is a nice touch. Supermercat is walking distance for groceries as well as a nearby restaurant, walk further more down the hill and you can eat at the local restaurants near the pier.

Very nice hotel, cala galdana very picturesque. Hotel on top of steep hill so consider other locations if anyone has mobility issues. Restaurant is more of a canteen, food average. Go for breakfast only, loads of nice places to eat in town. Parking ok if you rent car. Would return

OK hotel but lacking in certain areas

We had half board but you were not allowed any water with the evening meal unless they charged your room and the waiters were very quick to get you to sign for this. The restaurant lacks atmosphere and is more like a canteen. The entertainment is non exhistent or pathetic. Ice-cream at 4 euros each is extortionate so no good if you have kids.

We went as a couple, who hate kids, to a family hotel.

Low expectations led to a pleasing experience at the Ilunion. Staff were friendly, rooms were really clean, the pool was clean and there was a nice vibe about the hotel. Yes, breakfast was a bit crap as to be expected. The activities for kids and adults were naf, but we didn't go for that, so whatevs.

For the price, I think this place was alright actually.

Menorca last minute

I had to find alternate accommodations last minute due to some unforeseen circumstances. Thank goodness ilunion was available. Such a relaxed setting with great breakfast!! The staff at the front desk made some great recommendations on beaches to go too. Menorca is a special place and staying here made it that much better!!

Yes,it's a nice place,nice and quite, was on b&b and the breakfast is ok enough to choose from, not exceptional but ok.Room spacious and clean.Staff helpful and friendly,entertainment was basic but watchable and shut down at 11pm.Nice 10min walk down hill to beech.I booked late and felt I paid a little bit over for a 3 star hotel,but that's my choice.But overall a nice place and I would go again

Nice clean rooms, separate bedroom for us and a sofa bed in the main space for the kids. Kitchen area a bit small but sufficient (we ate in a couple of evenings and it was fine. Pool area really nice and had a baby pool, which was great for our youngest, adjoined to the main pool which meant our eldest sight. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient. Supermarkets and restaurants nearby were all good (special mention to Sa Lluna restaurant for excellent food and really friendly staff). 10 minute walk to the beach, 15 back as the hotal is at the top of the hill. Overall a really enjoyable stay.

Last minute escape

The Ilunion Hotel was really just what we expected, some reviews are a bit harsh. It is at the top of a hill but not that bad and does walk off the holiday calories! It is a little bit 'shabby chic' needs just a little bit of tlc but doesn't really affect your stay. The bathroom, living room and bedroom were all a good size, clean and had everything we needed, beds very comfy and the shower was great loads of hot water and really powerful, and rooms cleaned and tidied for us every day. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts were fab.....really not to be missed and also served from 8.00 to 11.00 so a nice long time slot. The pool was really nice with a few large 4 posters sun beds along with the normal loungers and parasols, never a problem getting one. Car parking onsite and managed to get a spot on arrival in the afternoon.A very useful recycling box in the main reception for parasols,mats,buckets,spades, etc so you can leave yours at the end of your holiday or borrow some for the day (what a good idea). All in all a really fabulous stay and we will definitely be back.

We LOVE the Illunion, it's clean, quiet

The staff are friendly, the food for breakfast is awesome. As all the Brits will tell you, dinner at 8:30pm is late, especially if you have small children. However, they cater mainly for a European crowd who clearly eat later. So it's a case of Brits we need to get over it. The staff in the kids club worked incredibly hard to keep our son entertained and he loved the mini disco. Thanks to all for helping create a wonderful family holiday

Nice hotel but evening entertainment was poor, mainly because of lack of participants. Cala Galdana beach is superb. You can also walk to Cala Macarella and Cala Midjana beaches. It's a 30-40 min walk to get to either of them but it's worth it. It was our second holiday in Menorca and we probably will go there again but choose a different hotel.

Best Aparthotel we've visited.

I have to say that Hotel Illunion was one of the best aparthotels that we have ever stayed in. Well put together, clean, everything worked (even had plugs in both kitchen and bathroom sinks and the bath!). Staff were great. The pool was sparkling and spotless (maybe could ave done with a couple more umbrellas and some pads on the sun-loungers - bit hard to relax on!). Evening entertainment not really to our taste, but hey, we don't do that sort of thing anyway. Other guests were loving it. Breakfasts were very good - lots of fruit, cereals, breads and preserves, and a cooked selection as well. One tiny criticism - the coffee comes from a machine and each selection type seemed to come with some sort of milk product with added sweetener or vanilla stuff in it. A good straightforward pot of coffee with plain milk would have sufficed for us. Otherwise - all excellent. We'd go there again if visiting Menorca - definitely.

Hotel was located in a nice area and 15 mins walk to beach, although it is at the top of a fairly steep hill. Although the room was clean, the furniture was a bit tired - damage to chest of drawers - corner broken off etc and battered front door, but otherwise very comfortable. Breakfast was ok, with quite a good selection.

We stayed in a Premium Apartment for one week. The hotel has all facilities required and cleanliness of hotel was impeccable. We did not use the pool or restaurant but always looked clean and inviting. Beds very comfortable. I would recommend the upgrade to a Premium Apartment as they are brand new and well worth the extra for a comfortable relaxed stay. Travelled as a couple. Would be ideal also for young family.

Having to visit the island urgently for a family emergency, we could not get into the hotel we always use and this was the only option at less than £1,000 for three nights! We found it clean, very comfortable with a more than adequate buffet breakfast. Although only a three star, the hotel pool looked excellent and there were plenty of games available for younger people.

Just returned from a week at the Hotel Illuinion, lovely apartments and grounds and swimming pool, the apartments are a little dated but this did not spoil our stay, cleaned and tidied everyday. All staff extremely friendly especially the receptionist Alba lovely smile and always happy to assist, shame the reception did not have automatic doors so the air con could be used in reception for staff and guests. We went half board and would definitely recommend lovely selection at breakfast and evening meal but felt 8.30 was a little late for evening meal especially if you have young children.

Fantastic hotel at a good price. Very friendly staff and good amenities. Comprehensive buffet breakfast at very reasonable rate. Pool is great, with separate areas for small children.
Only real downside is the very steep hill down to the resort centre & beach, which can be a real leg killer after a day out.

poor security put us off

We used this hotel at the end of our holiday after we checked out of our villa. The room was clean but basic. We werent happy with the security of our room. My husband left me to take a shower while he went down to the shops. A few minutes later i thought i heard him returning to the room and on getting out of the shower and opening the bathroom door still naked, i was met by a man who has just let himself into our room. when he saw me he said sorry and left. He couldnt have been a member of staff as he wasnt wearing a uniform and he had a key. We reported it to reception but the member of staff spoke little english and said she was sorry but understand. We didnt stay the night and missed dinner and breakfast so we cant comment on the hotel food.

A nice, comfortable and peaceful hotel

We recently enjoyed a very comfortable and peaceful week at this hotel apartment complex. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The apartment we had was nicely decorated, well equipped with new furniture and a very comfortable super king size memory foam bed. We only had two English TV channels, but this didn't matter as we were out most of the time. The swimming pool is excellent with plenty of sun loungers when we were there. We were self-catering and ate out most of the time, but we tried the buffet supper one evening in the hotel restaurant and it was very good food for a good price. Just 200 metres away is a small supermarket where we got everything we needed. We needed to buy basics such as tea, coffee, milk, bread, jam, washing up liquid, clothes pegs, tea towel, etc. There are also a couple of restaurants nearby and the town centre and beach are just 600 metres down the hill. But if you don't like walking up and down the hill, then this is not a good location. The customers were mostly Spanish and British families and couples. We found some evening entertainment in the bigger hotels. The island's buses are cheap and easy to use. We walked to other local coves. A nice resort with everything you need for a nice peaceful holiday!

good location to the resort but a budget hotel

This hotel has so much potential however very basic and the beds are rock hard...not even a tea cloth in the room so if your not eating in washing up etc it wont be a drama.The neighbours all week had their tv on 24/7 at all hours and mentioning to reception made no difference.I therefore banged on their door and thet eventually got quieter.On a plus side good location,good pool area and for a budget no frills stay i can't complain.A good base from which to explore the island which is beautiful.A must return but msybe not to comfortel.

Very nice accommodation in residential area of Cala Galdana. At the top of a hill so maybe a problem for some people but not if you have a car. Clean apartments, cleaned daily. Nice pool area although sunbeds a little uncomfortable (but most are). Really enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly. Only thing I can fault is the shower which was a little slow at letting the water through. Would stay here again, great value for money.

We booked the hotel the day before leaving the UK. We had a one bed apartment which had twin beds in the bedroom and sofa/pull out bed in the living area. The room was fine but the sofa/pull out beds were a little worn and the children found them a little uncomfortable. The pillows were also the thickness of a sheet of paper. Rooms gave free air con! Almost all the guests were families, either British or Spanish, which reflects Cala Galdana. The pool is excellent with lifeguard and felt like a very safe environment for the children. The Cala Galdana resort is family orientated with excellent restaurants with friendly staff. a nice place for a family holiday.

We stayed in this hotel/apartment for a week at the beginning of July 2014. The hotel was quite basic - all the necessities but nothing fancy. Our room was very spacious, with a separate bedroom, bathroom, small balcony, then a dining/living/kitchen area, which had everything we needed for self catering (we made breakfast and lunch there, but ate out in the evenings) - we didn't try the hotel restaurant so can't comment on that, but there were plenty of decent restaurants in the area, all reasonably priced. There were plenty of supermarkets all located within a few minutes walk too, so very convenient.   The hotel was in a good location, on the top of quite a steep hill, but not a problem for a young/fit couple (maybe more problematic for someone with mobility issues). The surrounding area was beautiful - the beach (and town) about a 5-10 minute walk with perfect clear water, great for sunbathing and swimming. We split our time between the beach, and the hotel's pool, which was very well maintained - the pool crystal clear and clean, and really lovely! Some mornings they did have activities set up for children so it could get a bit noisy, but there was still plenty of room left in the pool for everyone else. Our room was on the 3rd floor, near the back of the complex, so it was completely peaceful, but also meant our view was limited to the rest of the apartment buildings. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel, and would happily come back!

Excellent Quiet Location. . . Up A Steep Hill!

We loved our first ever holiday in Menorca and thought the Confortel Hotel was very good. Not luxurious but our apartment was clean, spacious, comfortable and well organised. We faced out onto the forest to the side of the hotel and were not overlooked so we enjoyed total privacy. The staff were excellent, always friendly and helpful and luckily for us, the reception staff spoke excellent English. The pool was super too and perhaps the only criticism was a slight lack of umbrellas for my husband who prefers the shade. There may have been more, however, but we didn't ask as we only spent a couple of hours there on a couple of occasions.
The one slight drawback is the lack of soundproofing and as there were a lot of babies and small children staying at the hotel, we were occasionally woken early morning by some noise from the little darlings! One morning I came to as I had been disturbed by noise from an upstairs apartment. When I realised that it was a small child opening and closing the sliding wardrobe doors and pushing a chair across the floor (the apartment flooring is fully tiled), I went to have it out with the parents. I only had to knock on the door and the noise stopped - followed by crying! We were not bothered again by this noise, thankfully. It should also be noted that the hotel is at the top of a hill so the less physically able may have difficulty in reaching the hotel by foot.
Cala Galdana is a lovely resort with a great beach and swimming. We will return!

We stayed for two weeks at this hotel on B&B basis.

The hotel is an apartment type hotel where there is a lounge diner with small kitchen area, bathroom with over bath shower, separate bedroom and a balcony with additional patio type table and three chairs.

We found the mattresses a touch on the firm side.

The sofa in the lounge was a pullout bed as well.

There was AC in both rooms.

Breakfast was plentiful , a combination of english and continental.

We ate out all of the time except for one night when we ate at the hotel. As per breakfast, the buffet was plentiful and good quality.

There are no soft furnishings in the public areas making the dining room more refectory than restaurant!

Pool area was good even though we used the beach all the time.

The hotel is at the top of a hill , 5 mins down, 10 mins up .

This at least gave us a chance to work off the evening meal on the way back to the room with the added advantage of buns of steel!

There are plenty of restaurants in Cala Goldana and the prices are comparable to the UK.

The beach is terrific and very friendly to children and non swimmers as there is a good shelf of shallow water.

An umbrella and two sun beds on the beach for the day were 17 Euros, a bit pricy but worth it for the whole day. The hotel has a supply of umbrellas and mats that had been left behind by other guests for use for free. First come first served.

Would go back without a doubt.

\"Quite basic, but has everything I needed\"

This hotel is rather cheap compared to others in Menorca and you get to see why when you walk through the door of your room/appartment. The decoration and furniture is very very basic, not modern at all, even austere I'd say. Rooms need to undergo refurbishment.
If you're happy with the basics and are not looking for anything fancy, this is your place to stay. The staff are lovely, always ready to guide you through the island and go the extra mile for you.
The hotel has free parking and a pretty good sized swimming pool (not many sun beds though).
There's no wireless in the rooms, only in the reception of the hotel and the nearest beach is 10min walk away.

Fab holiday overall

Arrived at 11.30am and unfortunately we couldn't check in until 2pm but was offered a place to leave our luggage which was secure and a toilet and change room incase we wanted to swim etc.
the staff were very helpful and spoke good English,everyone was polite and had a smile on there faces.
The hotel was very smart and well kept including the grounds.
The only thing I would say is that the pool was freezing and the beds were hard.
Everything else was great.

Great place to stay! The complex is well maintained, the staff is friendly and the apartments adequate size. In an apartment away form the pool 'you can hear only birds singing' as we were told by the reception - which turned out to be true. Blissful! A couple of good restaurants just down the road, also a few supermarkets nearby. Cala Galdana is a beautiful resort, chilled atmosphere and rather quiet apart from the beach on a sunny day. Beware of jellyfish though!

Good value hotel

Booked through Hotels.com- definitely the cheapest deal.

This is a good, friendly hotel with very spacious apartments. The rooms are slightly tired, but completely adequate, and cleaned every day.

It is situated at the top of a hill, and roughly a 10 minute walk. We had 2 young children, both in buggies, but easily did the walk each day. It is fairly steep though, so may be a problem for people not used to walking.

There are plusher, fancier hotels down by the beach, but you will pay a lot more for the privilege.... So it depends what you are looking for. The restaurants down at the seafront are also more formal than the ones up the hill. We mostly ate at Sa Lluna- great food, friendly staff and very child friendly.

Cala Galdana has a beautiful beach. Safe swimmIng, and perfect for families.

Good value for money. No need to spend time at pool as superb beach a short walk away (slight hill but not a problem). However if you want to spend time at pool sunbeds very uncomfortable.
Hotel rooms spacious; beds and furniture uncomfortable but put up with this due to good deal from Expedia. Would stay again.
Did not eat at hotel.

Bargain at twice the price

We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this hotel. It's up a hill about 10 minutes from the beach, might be harder for older folks or families with young children but wasn't a issue for us. Plenty of free parking, good AC and a large suite type room in a great/best location in Menorca for a forth of the cost of hotels 2 blocks closer to the water- cant beat it :)

We had a great stay at the Confortel Menorca. The apartments were well maintained, the room was clean (Housekeeping visited every day) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area is great for kids as are the outdoor adventure playground (At the top end of the complex) and the kids club. I highly recommend Confortel Menorca as an excellent low cost base for a holiday in Calla Galdana -We would definitely stay there again

second time round we loved it !!!

this was our second visit we stayed here last year ,the rooms are basic and in need of updating ,the showers need replacing, but for the money we paid we couldn't complain too much,the room was clean and a maid came in every day to make the beds and to change towels.The reception,bar and pool areas were very clean,last time we were there we suggested they put kettles in the rooms and are pleased to say that they had this time. there was no entertainment but that suited us !!
we would recommend this hotel !!

Great Basic Accomodation at a very reasonable price the reception staff were really friendly and were always available to help, I didn't eat at hotel as was staying self catering, cala galdanna is a beautiful resort and there are plenty of places to eat, the hotel is about an 5 minute walk down a hill to the beach and a 5 minute walk back up alot of people on other reviews seem to complain about this walk, I found it no problem at all and will definetly be staying in hotel again

OK - could be better

The hotel is ok and staff mostly very helpful and friendly but I had a grumpy and slightly unhelpful response to a request for help in booking a transfer and when reporting a broken flush no-one came to investigate at the agreed time.

I was glad I booked room only as I only dined once at the hotel. The food was edible and adequate but there were better choices around.

The hotel plays loud Spanish radio from early morning onwards in the pool area. It wasn't my cup of tea and I'd have preferred the option for a quiter morning.

Overall it was a friendly experience and the little apartment was clean, confortable and adequate. It made an excellent base from which to explore the lovely surrounds on foot. I'd have been tempted to stay and use the pool, make more use of the bar etc had it been quieter, rather than just using it as a room to sleep and rest.

A good family hotel with excellent food at reasonable prices.

If you want a relaxing holiday in the sun, we would highly recomend this hotel.It's a10 minute walk from a beautiful beach and there are small supermarkets nearby. A 5 minute walk will lead you to (in our opinion) one of the best resturants in Cala Gadana called la Luna.The hotel is at the top of a slightly steep road, your calf muscles will get a work out, however it is not as bad as some reviews have made it out to be.
The hotel offers a friendly and enthusiastic entertainment team, made up of 3 people who offer 'fiesta games' in the day and a range of shows by night.

All’arrivo abbiamo riscontrato la presenza di formiche nella stanza. Ci hanno assegnato un’altra stanza, peraltro non idonea per tre persone, nella quale abbiamo subito riscontrato perdite di acqua dal pavimento con continuo allagamento. A quel punto, per fortuna ci hanno assegnato una terza stanza, questa volta idonea per tre persone e in linea con tutto quanto pagato per il soggiorno. Apprezziamo lo sforzo del personale per sistemarci adeguatamente.

Très bon séjour

Hotel très agréable, chambre spacieuse, très propre, climatisée. Coin cuisine que nous n'avons pas utilisé (avec kit vaisselle à disposition). Accueil très agréable du personnel, échanges faciles. Petit déjeuner buffet avec beaucoup de choix, et qualitatif. Salle de repas et zone d'accueil très agréablement décorées. Voyage entre amies pour 2 nuits.

Pelo custo benefício tivemos uma boa estadia. Para quem tem foco em fazer as praias do Sul, a localização é ótima porque fica bem pertinho das trilhas para Macarella, Macareneta, Cala Turqueta e walking distance da Cala Galdana. O quarto é grande e confortável, só não gostamos muito do chuveiro. O café da manhã em estilo buffet deixa a desejar.

Café da manhã excelente e todos os funcionários muito educados e prestativos. O ambiente do hotel é muito agradável e a localização é ótima, a praia de Cala Galdana foi uma das melhores!
Único ponto negativo é que ficamos em um quarto alto e um pouco “longe” e como não há elevador, ficou cansativo carregar as malas de escada. Mas super recomendo.

Un hôtel à conseiller !

Un hôtel très agréable où le personnel est vraiment sympathique. Les chambres sont fonctionnelles avec un petit balcon, rien à redire sur la propreté. La salle de restaurant est très moderne, le seul petit bémol il faut parfois patienter un peu pour avoir une table. Repas variés et de bonne qualité. Hôtel très bien situé, à 20 minutes de la belle plage de Cala Galdana et à côté de chemins de randonnées. Un parking est disponible à l'hôtel et il y a des places gratuites pour stationner dans la rue à côté. Hors saison, quelques magasins et un petit supermarché sont ouverts à proximité immédiate de l'hôtel.

Property is located in Cala Galdan which has few beaches around however they all are at 30/40 min walk at least, recommend having a car. Property was good overall and the staff very welcoming. Could do better on communication, waited for a call/text when the room was ready for the check in, never got it

Siamo tornate ieri dal nostro viaggio,
La struttura è molto comoda sia per i servizi che si trovano a poca distanza sia perché gli spazi comuni sono grandi e ben arredati.
Il mare di cala Galdana dista solo di una lunga discesa ma fattibile sia per distanza che ripidità.
Il personale è sempre molto gentile ma nel ristorante e nelle camere la pulizia andrebbe migliorata e anche le indicazioni delle cose da mangiare sono troppo vaghe e per le intolleranze è impensabile.
Comunque nel complesso lo consiglio come hotel, ma utilizzerei la cucina dell’appartamento.
A presto Minorca.

Hotel lobby and restaurant is really nice, they recently refurbished it. Rooms are quite nice, but they should renew bathrooms and kitchen stove is not in a good condition.
We stayed for 8 days and they did not change sheets. Towels were taken away and they did not bring new ones. Overall it is quite clean.
Pool is very nice, clean. Breakfast buffet it nice, but it gets quite busy after 9 and then they struggle to get everything clean for new guests
