We had an amazing holiday here at this eco friendly and sustainable hotel. From when we walked in the front door we felt so chilled. Our room was excellent with a big walk in shower, a massive bed and best of all very comfy pillows. The pool area was clean and tidy with plenty of comfy sun beds to use. We went half board and the buffet choice was extensive there was always something to choose. However what made the holiday was the attentive friendly staff who made you feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. We can’t wait until we return next year.

Artiem Audax met all our expectations and exceeded some. Modern, stylish, comfortable and luxurious. Our room had surely the best views in Cala Galdana. Views from the rooftop pool area were equally stunning. Really comfortable super-king bed and pillows (makes such a difference). Staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful. We didn’t eat there, preferring to go out, (except for an early evening diner-style meal at the pool cafe which was really good). Breakfast was decent and generous. BCorps credentials were evident throughout, from the water coolers to the recycled sea-plastic room trays. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had the most amazing time, the hotel was fantastic! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was a real highlight, both at breakfast and in the evenings. There was a great variety each day, and everything was cooked to a high standard. A special mention to the omelette chef at breakfast, he put so much care into making each one, I've missed my morning omelette since coming home!

I made use of the gym during our stay, and while hotel gyms can sometimes be quite limited, this one was fairly well-equipped and more than enough for a good workout.

We had a partial sea view room, which turned out to be perfect. We had the sun on our balcony from early afternoon through to sunset, so even on days when sunbeds were all taken, we could still relax and soak up the sunshine in peace. The room was clean, the bed was really comfy, and we had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the location was ideal - peaceful but also well-placed for getting out and exploring.

I’d highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return!

Happy with my decision with Audax over a larger resort in Cala Galdana. Easy access to the beach and restaurants. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Many places onsite to unwind. Went mid-May when it wasn’t very crowded.

The Pros

The hotel was clean, and is in a great location next to the beach. I used both the spa and gym.

The Cons
It does not feel like a 4star hotel . In the rooms there was not even a basic phone directory so that you could call the spa or the restaurants independently, so you have to waste time calling reception to put you through.

Service overall is not great, staff are not attentive. On my last day I ordered a desert and didn’t even get to eat it because staff took so long to bring it out and I had to leave . On one occasion I needed to change a spa booking, I called over five times and no one picked up . I was forced to go there in person only to find staff sitting there, I asked why they didn’t pick up and was met with an incoherent response.

The air conditioning was not working in my room and
the room did not have any usb plug ports or other niceties you would expect to see.

Great stay, excellent location, wonderful staff, beautiful beach. Practical advices: the beach is 2 minutes walk over the cutest bridge, the sunbeds are not free - $25 for two under umbrella, there are two cafes on the beach, where you can get drinks to go, ice cream , milk shakes. TO sit down, you should order food. The best restaurant is up on the cliff El Mirador - great views, good food. You can rent kayaks, paddle boards, and funny slide cars. Most importantly, across the road there is a boat rental - a must to do! You can visit all nearby coves and hidden beaches, the boats are small and easy to operate, Delightful experience.

Excellent hotel. Lovely pool and mostly clean rooms- occasionally cleaner could have done a slightly more thorough job. Pool area was lovely with quiet and good sized pool as well as fresh delicious food at lunchtime. Sunbeds could be a bit tricky, right in the middle of the day, but mostly we could find something. One slight issue for us was that the offsite restaurants you could walk to were slightly limited. We got in a cab a couple of times- quite expensive- to go to better restaurants. Quality of food in hotel itself - breakfast and lunchtime, we didn’t get dinner- was excellent though.

So close to ocean and coves. We were able to take the trail right outside the hotel to two small private quiet cove beaches. The views were stunning. A once in a lifetime adventure!! The location is amazing.

Beautiful location and surroundings. The hotel sits right near the beach, hiking routes, and local shops and restaurants. Upon entering, you're greeted by a stunning reception area and friendly staff. Our room was ready for us even though we arrived early.

Our room was clean and tidy, although nothing extraordinary. Our balcony overlooked the trees and white villas and was a good size, with chairs, a table, and drying rack (very useful). The bed was a great size and extremely comfortable. We got a great nights' sleep! Our room included a safe and mini bar. Be warned that the glass bottles of water are NOT free (which we thought they were). The bathroom was a great size and included complementary shower gel and shampoo, which was very nice.

You're provided with beach towels and we were given three tokens to exchange these during the week we were there. This is because the hotel is sustainable and encourages you to reuse towels. We found this was sufficient for the week, even though we used the towels every day, even on the beach. The pool area is lovely and you could always find a bed, even on busy days.

We really enjoyed the breakfasts, which had a wide array of foods - as a vegetarian, I found there was always something to eat.

We also ate a lot at The View bar. The cocktails were especially nice! However, there was definitely a black fly problem and could have done with something to deter them, like citronella candles. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is not a 4 star hotel, it's 3 star at best. Very basic, bare bones. The phone in my room didn't function and was never addressed by the staff even after multiple requests. I had to go to the front desk to place a room service order. There is no mini-bar, so this was the only option for a drink an snack when we checked in. They would not deliver a bottle of cava to the room; I was told to go to the bar and get it myself. The restaurant had the atmosphere of a cafeteria and the food was pretty bad. My friend liked her black cod with miso, but our appetizer and my risotto were both inedible. Although this is an adults-only hotel, there were kids screaming and playing in the water directly in front of my balcony. The pool area looked nice, but it was not enough to make up for the negatives. I had booked here for 3 nights but checked out after the first night and went to a nicer hotel.

Great hotel- service, location and facilities

Great hotel and location. The rooftop pool area was lovely with views over the sea and bay and plenty of sunbeds and a good bar area for sunset drinks and post dinner dancing. Breakfast buffet was good and staff always attentive. Otherwise mainly went out into the little resort where there were lots of good restaurants with wonderful fresh fish and seafood.
The indoor pool and spa had a good selection of massaging water jets and heat treatments and felt really new ( as did the hotel) and we had 2 very relaxing full body massages. All in all an excellent hotel with very good service.. highly recommended.

Location location location… wow on the doorstep of walkway to the beach, coastal path, jetties for boat trips, taxi ranks to go exploring, restaurants in every direction and a super supermarket for snacks and drinks across the road. Views from the pools were beautiful. Staff were fantastically friendly and attentive and the hotel is immaculately clean, well laid out and our room was great. We were on B&B basis and the variety of food at breakfast set us up for the day. Lovely hotel.

Only slight issue we had due to the time of year we visited was air conditioning was still in winter mode and reception informed us they had no control over when it was switch to summer mode we could not cool the room enough for us at night. Due to the side of the building we were on leaving the balcony door open at night partly solved this but then we noticed a little noise early in the morning by deliveries, refuse collection and traffic in the street below sometimes

We loved it! So relaxing, hotel is beautiful. Right next to the beach, boat trips nearby and local restaurants all lovely. Restaurant in hotel really great for breakfast. We had dinner there one night but preferred the local restaurants instead. Went end of April, lovely weather, but windy at times but T-shirt and shorts the entire stay. Truly a great week stay at the hotel. Professional staff at the front desk and friendly staff throughout the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and well appreciated. The chef “Carlos” was awesome and deserves special mention due to his attention to details. A great omelet technique with professionalism! The only issue as an “adult Guest” was the lack of ambiance in the lounge/bar areas of the hotel. It’s clinical and lacks the essentials of a four star hotel for “adults only” the old tv entertainment showing home shopping network peddling is inappropriate! In particular when the lounge lacks proper music or programming for adults. A Champions League Games on two nights and we had to go around the corner from the hotel to watch a game at a classless bar? If the social director for the hotel exists; they failed to realize a proper environment needs to exist for adults. Otherwise let the children be the entertainment! Thank you!

Went in late March, inside the room was 83+ degrees (28 degrees Celsius). Tried to turn on the air conditioning but staff said they don’t have it. Gave us a fan instead and asked us to open the window for the breeze. Uncomfortable. I pay for a 4+ star hotel to at least get air conditioning, especially since hotels.com and the hotel website say it provides it.
Hotel does have an incredible view at least.

My wife and I celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary with a two week trip to Spain. While we spent one week on the mainland, we also spent a week in Cala Galdana on Menorca. We selected this place primarily because it was an adults only facility. We love kids, but this was our anniversary. The room was somewhat outdated, but we had a balcony with a view of the water. The buffet breakfast, complete with champagne, was wonderful. The two people making made to order omelets were fantastic. I also had my first taste of ensaimada, which the Balearics are famous for. The staff was friendly and very helpful. While I wish the use of the spa was included in the price, $20 for 90 minutes was not bad. It was well worth the price. The pools were a nice change from the salt water of the Mediterranean. All the bars were fantastic. Our favorite was the Blue Cafe. I definitely would return to this property as it is within walking distance to so many great restaurants. We now have so many great memories from this place to add to our 37 year history. Do not miss out on this place!

This is a great location, next to one of the best beaches in the island and a stunning coastal walk from some deserted aquamarine sandy coves. Plenty of water-based activities at the hotel, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Well worth paying extra for the buffet. There are chefs on hand to cook you fresh fish every night, from John Dory to grouper to hake. Also good selection of meats. Fabulous stay altogether

Mostly this hotel is very nice.
Room was a bit small for a 2 week stay but OK for a week I suppose.
Staff are friendly, helpful and professional.
Breakfast is fantastic.
Gym is way above \"hotel standard\" and is a proper gym.
The advertised \"satellite TV\" is a complete joke and as we were there late in the season with everything closing down, the option would have been nice.
We got a reduction for dinner one night but even for 25 euro a head (although the food was very nice) I don't like the \"works canteen\" method, I find it irritating and annoying..... Just a personal observation.
Food in \"The view\" is lovely during the day and staff are helpful and amusing.
Room cleaning towels etc excellent.
Overall, the advantages massively outweigh the disadvantages and I would love to stay here again

The hotel is in a great location with lots of fun activities near by. The rooms are nice and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Food options were good each day for breakfast and dinner, though it was a bit strange that we had to pay for water at the dinner buffet.

The beach is right across the street and the water is amazing - it is crystal clear and warm with some nice fish and sting rays to observe.

Overall a great vacation, we were really happy with our stay.

Theft from room

Cash was stolen from our room right before we checked out. We had been diligent about using the in-room safe, but on our last day we had our bags packed and left the do-not-disturb sign on our door before going for breakfast just outside our room. When we got to the airport we discovered the cash from my wife's wallet was stolen. We emailed the hotel asking for a record showing when our room was accessed during our stay and sure enough, it was scanned while we were away eating breakfast. We explained the situation to the hotel and asked for security footage, but they stopped responding to us and generally did not seem to care at all. I hesitate to blame cleaning staff, but they saw us leave our room for breakfast and knew we were checking out that morning. They also would've been the only other ones who had access to our room.
Other than the theft, our stay was decent. The breakfast was quite good, but the dinner was below average. Our room was way too hot despite running the AC on full the first 2 nights - it seemed as if the system is underdesigned.
The theft was very frustrating, but even more frustrating was way the hotel dealt with it. There are other really nice hotels in the area - I recommend booking one of those instead

Great Hotel!

This is a beautiful property. It's in fantastic shape and in a great location. It's very convenient to the beach and boat trips/rentals. It's also right on the trail to the Cala Macarella and Cala Macarelleta. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

I really loved this hotel... I mostly stay at Hostels as a single traveller, however met with a friend in Menorca.
Loved the hotel for the staff always being nice, the room being a good size, and the facilities on the property.
We did need to ask a couple of times for towels (as I think the cleaner thought we were solo traveler).
Pool was always sparse, and no 'fighting' over sunbeds, however maybe due to the time of year.
the best beaches on the island are within a 30-45 minute walk from the hotel.
An easy to use rental car company around the corner (Cheaper than doing taxi's)

We stayed at the Artiem Audax hotel for a week in June/July 2019. We only had bed and breakfast, and ate out for lunch and dinners.

I didn't realise that the hotel was an eco-friendly one, but it made the stay all the better for me! There was no overuse of plastics on any of the amenities, and the aircon wasn't constantly. That being said, it also felt like a really luxurious hotel. There was a great gym, free classes like yoga, two lovely pools, and the level of service from the staff was amazing.

The breakfast had a LOT of choice, and all very good. Also a good range of timings as they have 2 restaurants.

The pool area was lovely, we spent quite a few days here just lounging around. There aren't a huge amount of sun loungers, so you may have to wait around to get one if you don't get to the pool before 11ish, but that never bothered us at all and we always managed to get 2 beds together.

There are seagulls by the pool, but there's nothing the hotel can really do about that, it's just the local wildlife, so I think it's unfair to leave bad reviews on that basis. They never really bothered us.

Each member of staff that we spoke to were superbly helpful, nothing was any trouble for them. I heard a lady complaining about the sunbeds and the staff managed that with patience and kindness. We were also able to book a courtesy room as we had a late flight which was clean and really helpful.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and I would recommend the hotel to others.

Very well situated in Cala Galdana, close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Food was excellent, staff very friendly, only small criticism was that sunbeds seemed to be reserved with towels, despite notices asking guests not to do so or to leave their sunbeds for longer than 30 mins. I know this is a difficult issue but staff should really enforce this more.

Just back from a week in Menorca and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay! Amazing rooms, restaurants, swimming pool, spa, everything you need in one place. The beach near the hotel is great too!!! I would definitely recommend the hotel for anyone that is playing to go to Menorca.

Perfect experience staying in Artiem hotel. Location excellent, employees very friendly. We realy enjoyed outside pool, inside spa, beautiful sandy beaches. We enjoyed very much in food on mornings and in evenings, impressed in variety and quality, acompanied with wine. We had to visit hotel gym because of overeating in hotel restaurants. Recommend to couples who enjoy in all sort of activities and in food as well. You can even dance in the evening. It was a brilliant week.

A fantastic view from the sea view rooms. Food was mostly good. It seemed a bit average for the first few days, but for the second half of the week we were there it was mostly excellent, although drinks are a little pricey. Service was pretty good and the whole place was clean and tidy. Room and bed were comfortable and the large walk-in shower was excellent. Nightly entertainment was pretty poor, got more enjoyment out of the English and European football (Sky and BT Sport) shown on the large TV by the bar.

Great property, very friendly staff and beautiful cove. And close to lovely national park coastal walks. Hotel breakfast first class, and hotel extremely clean throughout.
We went in early April and it is quiet, many of the restaurants and shops in Cala Galdana not yet open for the season but lovely for the lack of crowds. The hotel is very good with lovely rooms and excellent facilities, although we were disappointed to find that the basic spa facilities (spa pool and sauna) needed additional fees. Quite expensive 22 Euros/person for 90 minutes in spa pool area. This had not been made clear on the Expedia website, but believe this is being clarified. Overall fantastic and off-season, perfect for quiet, relaxing break !

Nice hotel, but...

Nice hotel, close to the beach in lovely Cala Galdana. The hotel staff was, in general, friendly and helpful. The room had the most amazing non-sea views :) we normally book sea-views, but this time was a last minute booking and we book the last room available, however, it was facing the amazing Menorcan pines and you can even see a bit the Cala... The room was not big but had a nice balcony, the bathroom was a bit too 'industrial' for my taste but fine. Food was nice in general, however, on the last night we had a bad experience when my boyfriend ate some uncooked chicken from a wok dish... he didn't feel ok the day after and it was challenging traveling back to England. I've also had a minor incident in the pool when I swam to a wall in between pools (I really think it should be more obvious that there was a separation on the upstairs pools). I just asked for ice at the bar as my nose was really painful, the staff was helpful and ask me if I needed further help which I declined as I was feeling fine soon after. I aslo requested different pillows calling from the room wich never arrived to our bedroom... on a positive note it was my birthday and I had a great bottle of cava, cake and decorations in the room :) it was a nice and which make me feel amazing, thanks again Reception team! The Reception team also gave me great recomendations to explore around. In general was a very nice trip and loved our first time in Menorca.

Surrounded by nice little shops,and sits across from a lovely beach ,but if you decide to just chill in the hotel area then you’re in for a treat,as the pool feels open yet intimate.

Incredible service, food and location!!

Incredible service at a wonderful hotel in an amazing and stunning location! We couldn’t be happier with our stay. The staff was incredible. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, the airline lost our baggage the first day so we arrived without any belongings. The staff gave us a variety of things like toiletries to help us upon arrival, even fresh t-shirts, and assisted us by calling and delivering the luggage to our room once the airline delivered it to the hotel. Upon arriving our room we found they had decorated the bed with rose petals and balloons and left champagne on ice and dessert so we could celebrate. Our last day they provided picnics for us for the day as we left too early to enjoy the incredible breakfast. The staff were always polite, gracious and friendly through all our interactions. The food at the restaurants is also amazing as well. Go for the half or full board if you can. I was very satisfied with my stay and hope to return one day.

No Wifi In Room, Staff Not Nice About It

Not a fan of this hotel. First off there was no wifi in our room, it dropped out the entire stay and we had two computers. Every time we brought it up, the staff argued and said they have the best wifi in the island. This is not true we stayed at another hotel in Menorca and LOVED it and had no issues. Also hotel is in very touristy area and the rooms look cheap. Pool is crowded. Breakfast was good though, will give them that. Won't return.

Hotel was lovely, well decked out, pool was great I do wonder how it might managed when the hotel is max capacity but my experience was great. We were in the 1st floor with a view of the bay, does mean we got to enjoy the night time entertainment in the bar below if we wanted to or not, I'd ask for a room a bit further away unless you're going to be singing along! Food was great, staff friendly and hotel pretty much A1, very good experience.
