The guy at the reception during check-in was quite strange and came across as somewhat xenophobic, very old-fashioned. However, the younger staff working during the daytime were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located close to the center.

The hotel is in a market area in downtown Athens, which makes it a little challenging to get there quickly from a taxi, but it is located within easy walking distance from shops and restaurants and the sightseeing buses.

The highlight was the professional and friendly staff who assisted in getting myself and my old dad to Athens airport after a taxi strike was announced without warning. Everything else was good: nice breakfast, clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows! My room was a bit small, but not a deal breaker. Location was great.

I liked the hotel. The staff was just great. The breakfast was very nice. And I did feel safe in the area though it is an area with many businesses. I didn’t like that there's no driveway to the property. Was dropped off and had to walk about 150 feet tp and from the hotel for a cab. That really wasn't an issue but inconvenient with heavy luggage.

Clean, helpful staff, rooftop terrace/bar with views of the Acropolis and city. Generous breakfast buffet. Set in an area of street markets. It would be challenging to drive the tiny crowded maze of streets, so take a taxi. Very good value for money.

We where offered free coffee for our stay but if the roof top patio opens you have to pay for coffe because coffee in the lobby not available and the older man behind the counter wanted to use the coffe in our room. When the cab dropped us off it looked like the ghetto with graffiti everywhere. Our twin beds put together very uncomfortable. Pictures very misleading of the outside of hotel.

Great Stay in Athens!

This hotel was great! The room and bathroom was clean, comfortable, well organized. The bed was comfortable. The included breakfast was excellent, and included hand made sweets, meats and eggs, fresh fruit... just lovely, in addition to all coffee, teas, juices etc. The staff at the front desk were extraordinarily nice and helpful in registering, giving good advice about sites to see, transportation, and general help! Maria was especially lovely and the evening personnel also very helpful. the view from the rooftop of the Acropolis/Parthenon at night was spectacular, and the bartender was warm and friendly. This stay was in a convenient location, but the people made this stay exceptinal. Highly recommend!

My initial reaction when the cab pulled up was \"uh-oh\" but I quickly learned this hotel was perfect for us. The street it is located on has a food market on one side of the hotel and a flea market on the other side. The hotel is located alongside a main street with stores and restaurants which lead you directly to Monastraki Square which is a convenient location for anywhere you want to go in Athens. The hotel was clean, the staff very helpful, and had a nice roof deck to enjoy the Acropolis view. An affordable hotel close and walkable to many Athens' sites.

Toque hotel is easy to find and close to the metro , as you exit the metro look right and. You will. See the acropolis, the hotel is good rooms. Are spacious breakfast is excellent and the rooftop terrace with views of Athens And acropolis is a beautiful bonus, there are many restaurants and a supermarket within 100 metres of the hotel , all staff are happy and very helpful a very nice hotel😊.

Stay for 6 nights. Very comfortable room . Great house keeping and the breakfast was excellent . The breakfast ladies were the best , keeping all of the breakfast foods topped up and fresh.The front house are super helpful and friendly. .The hotel is walking distances to all tourist sites,shopping and restaurants.

Neighborhood somewhat of a negative, location in the food market area unattractive, but I was already aware of that from Trip Advisor reviews, and accepted it. Location very convenient to a major Metro station, and an easy walk to really get a good feel for the Athens city.

This is a well located 3 star hotel. It's clean, quiet and comfortable.

The rooms are small and the bathroom is tiny - our shower was a half size bath that you stepped into, there was basically no bench space for personal items and the woodwork was suffering from water damage.

It is walking distance from the Monastiraki Metro (direct line from the airport), there are fresh fruit stalls opposite and a delightful Greek food outdoor restaurant a few metres away. Syntagma Square is walking distance, albeit, further than Monastiraki.

A buffet breakfast is included in the price and it has plenty of variety. We found all the staff extremely helpful.

The best thing about this hotel is definitely the location and it also has a residents-only rooftop bar with direct line of sight to the Acropolis. Stunning.

This 3 star hotel is conveniently located between Syntagma Square and Monastiraki Square - walkable distance to both. It is serviced by Metro, direct line from the airport to Monastiraki.
It is clean, quiet, comfortable and has the most amazing view of the Acropolis from its private roof top bar.
Buffet breakfast has plenty of variety.
While the bathroom is tiny and the bedroom quite small, it makes up for it with the location - a pedestrian only area with many fruit stalls, olive and cheese sellers too.
There is a fabulous Greek food restaurant just a minute walk away.

The property is very centrally located in the heart of town just next to the Plaka area. You have easy access to everything. There is a fruit and vegetable market selling wonderful dried fruits and nuts right on the side walk of the hotel doors which is very convenient.

Nice hotel located a really short walk from to Monastiraki square and only 20 minutes walk from the acropolis. Essentially this is a great location for sightseeing. Staff are friendly an helpful and the view of the Parthenon from the top of the hotel is great. We paid a little more for a window view and it was worth it.

Staff at the property are outstanding. View from the room was amazing. Rooftop was chilly but the view was worth it. Would be wonderful in warmer weather. Breakfast was good. Lots of choices and I liked the Greek options. They had lots of seats but it did get full. good wifi. Room was smaller but fine for our needs. We enjoyed the area around the hotel and felt mostly safe but others may not.
Lift is extremely small. Busy times were a wait. Temperature control in room was bad. Often times it was too hot. Room had street noise.
Price/performance was good.

This hotel is basic so if you’re looking for luxury this isn’t the right fit.
Rooms are clean, showers are powerful and there’s a fridge in the room.
Just off the Main Street so reasonably quiet (Saturday night was quite loud but you’re in a big city so no complaints)
Tea and coffee facilities are currently not in the rooms however this is meant to be happening by the end of the month (March 2024)
Breakfast is decent, orange grapefruit juice or water, variety of tea, coffee machine (cappuccino espresso hot chocolate) bread, cold meats and cheese, yoghurt, fruit pastries and cakes. Alternate days offer sausage or bacon and beans are always available as well as scrambled and boiled egg.
Great stay in a superb location for a few days in Athens.

The hotel is next to the market and this gives a first impression of being in a run down area but it feels safe However the minute you walk through the door everything is clean, fresh and tidy. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. The bedroom was not large however it was very clean . The only downside is there was no hairdryer.. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety to suit all tastes. The hotel is situated close to all the major attractions and the view from the roof terrace to the Acropolis is spectacular

Tbis hotel was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. You can get free coffee or tea at the self serve coffee bar until 530 pm everyday. One downside is roof bar was noisy and lights on the side of the building were hard for me to sleep. Thank goodness for sleep pills and earplugs you may need both. Will stay here again next time in Athens;)

4 night guest Nov 27th. I am a world traveler .....this hotel will always have a special place in my heart and mind about how exceptional customer service is to be delivered without paying the price of a 5 star hotel. Every staff member spoke English to this Atlanta customer, and every staff was sincerely passionate about making my trip the best it could be. Hotel location: excellent ! , take the metro (subway) from the airport to Monastiraki Station. Walk up (north) Athinas for about 10 minutes to the hotel located on a side street across from the very popular Athens Central Market . Great Location! Pick up some groceries in one of many shops along the way . Hotel: very clean. Room: very comfortable, free safe in room, rapid daily cleaning, fridge in room, Excellent Wifi (the best I have ever experienced abroad!!). Free breakfast: Unbelievable! ...Scrambled Eggs, bacon, fresh pastries, cappuccino, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit,cold cuts (meat)... and so much more.... I cannot think of a more complete breakfast I have had abroad that was included in the price than at this hotel! Huge Bonus: Every morning during breakfast, a multilingual concierge chatted briefly with EVERY breakfast guest asking if she can assist with each guest's daily upcoming events/travels. Her daily advice was sage, and tailored to each guest. VERY CLASSY! If I owned a hotel, I would recruit all the staff. Truly, exception customer service, and all of this on a budget! I hope to be back soon!

At first blush the property is older and seems out of date. Any of that was more than made up for in location, staff, service and breakfast. Every suggestion for a dinner spot or what ever was a great find. Hit that roof top bar first thing. The view did not disappoint.
They were very helpful with the tours and shuttle services also. The elevators are small but the cool older kind. We were on the 8th floor and had no issue walking up and down as needed.

The service was better with the afternoon shift versus the morning staff. I found that the ladies, one in particular was not very helpful nor kind. The location was mediocre as it is in the middle of the fruit market however not far from the main attractions. There is no restaurant and most rooms dont have a balcony which I find inconvenient. When asked if I had a balcony the one lady said I had one and then when I discovered my room to not have one the other lady told me I had to pay 49 euro more for one. If i had known this i would have booked the Wyndham which had one as well as a pool.

This was a nice place to stay, but it is a little complicated to find being in the market. The area isn't the nicest but I by no means felt unsafe walking around at night. There is a fridge, and tea/coffee in the lobby and breakfast was okay, not fabulous but a nice enough range of stuff. The winner was the 'handy' mobile to use during your stay which was a life saver in using google maps as a navigator. Staff were pleasant and friendly at the front desk and dining room as was the cleaning staff. The rooftop bar leaves something to be desired but there are loads over the city so didn't bother me

Great hotel, roof top bar with view is amazing. However, if you are on the opposite side of the acropolis (cheaper rooms) you will be overlooking the roof of the market where there is constant drug deals going on. Didn’t feel safe walking back at night.

The hotel is good, clean and good size room. My only issue was the park across the street. The room looks at the park and it was a lot people doing drugs, it felt unsafe, but I was told by locals that I shouldn't feel unsafe even with all the crazy action in that area. The location is very close to everything and public transportation.

Do not be fooled by great reviews...

The hotel alone is on good condition, but what made us regret our stay and change it, was it’s location. The sorroundings can be described as a ghetto. My son first hand saw locals ingest drugs in front of the entrance. Our rooms had windows which only portrait an abandoned plaza, with lacking illumination. In summary, the location alone was sufficient enough to shadow what could have bean a good hotel in another area of Athens. Safety is clearly an issue during late hours in this hotel, specially if you bring your family. After this experience I highly recommend to look for another hotel.

The pictures on the website make the property look nicer than it really is, however the price is what you are paying for! There is so many homeless people outside, and borders not the best area. the staff were nice, and the breakfast was great for the cost. This fit our purpose of staying in Athens cheap to see the sites before we head off to Greek Islands.

The hotel staff were great. Friendly, warm, and helpful. Getting in on a Sunday, things were uncharacteristically slow, giving the area an eery sort of feel. However, once the work week started, we knew we were in the heart of Athens. Location of hotel was good for getting around. We wish we had more time to explore the Psirri section of town. Right there, and a very cool vibe. The breakfast buffet was fabulous too.

Our stay was comfortable, the staff was helpful and pleasant. I would say that the location is kind of sketchy. The main entrance to the hotel is in a very dark alley with almost no lighting at night. Once you get out of the alley, the area is fine. The hotel is fairly close to lots of shopping and restaurants. The room was very small as are most rooms in Greece. I was a little thrown by the beds pushed together and the bright orange walls, but it was fairly clean except for the stains on the walls. View was awesome and we loved the rooftop area-it was like our own private rooftop terrace. Breakfast buffet was ok, but wished they had more breakfast options like pancakes.

I stayed only for a night but probably i will choose again that hotel during my next visit to Athens. Personnel was very helpful and kind. The room was beautiful and clean. Breakfast had many options and they also have a place at the reception area where you can make a tea or a coffee at any time you wish. The area is a bit busy so it is not the best option if you plan to have your own car during your visit. Metro is less than 10 minutes on foot and you will not need a car or taxi anyway if you plan to visit the historic center of Athens

Rooftop View of Acropolis, Market Downstairs

The cab driver could not find the hotel even with his GPS. It turns out that it was in a small alley and because we arrived at night, it was dark. He was trying to get us out of the cab but I insisted we have to find the hotel. When I called earlier, the night desk attendant said that it was better to take get off the train at Syntagma Square and take the cab from there as walking from Monastiraki with luggage may be too difficult and since it would be to near, the cabs will not take us.

In the morning, after we have rested and oriented ourselves, we find that we are in the middle of two (2) train stations, Omonia and Monastiraki. Also, it's not that far a walk to the Acropolis where the Parthenon is.

Indeed, other than the difficulty finding the hotel, we have had no problems and we even extended our stay, the service was friendly and efficient. When I asked for hot water, they brought in a kettle for the room. The breakfast is substantial with choice of hot and cold items, and enough protein, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausage, bacon, beans. They have a rooftop which during warmer months has a bar and serve drinks. The lobby has two (2) computer terminals with a printer which guests can use. There is a local restaurant serving kebabs, grilled chicken and gyros right at the corner. Oh, right downstairs is the market, so if you're sensitive to the smell of the market, this hotel is not for you.

Our first impression of the location was unfavourable because it’s in the central market. But that turned out a plus, with lots of eating places and an easy walk to everywhere. We also had a view of the Acropolis from our room, and sunbathed on the Acropolis view roof (bar in summer?). The tea and coffee in the foyer was appreciated after a day of tourism. And all the staff went the extra mile, especially Paola, who met everyone at breakfast and gave advice on where to go and how to get there.

Hotel close to city centre

Overall we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is very close to Monastiraki as well as to Omonia square and to Psyri area with all the restaurants and nightlife. The staff was really friendly. There was a free coffee at anytime at the lobby area. Good wifi in the hotel.

The hotel is located in the center of Athens, close to the taverns, close to the Acropolis and the Agora,
It is in the middle of a vegetable and fruit market, and a small flea market. Just a cute and wonderful place.
Its rooftop floor overlooks the entire city and in summer they sit for coffee on the roof with a direct view of the Acropolis

8 story hotel, clean with new furnishings, nice view of Accropolis from room & better from rooftop Patio. Lobby opens to the city market square. Plenty of fruit & vegetables, olives, cheese etc also at market

Had a couple days off and decided to visit Athens. Athens Center Square was the perfect location to stay. To is centrally locates with all the major sights within a 20 minute walk. The neighborhood had a wide variety of restaurants to pick from and there was plenty of places to shop at every turn. The hotel itself was well maintained with a professional and helpful staff. They also served an outstanding breakfast every morning. Definitely recommend staying here.

Pros:
-Breakfast is decent. Fresh fruit and breads are available.
-Room was clean and had a nice view of acropolis (5th floor)
-Coffee and water in lobby area available to guests since the room doesnt have either

Cons:
-Hotel is located in a very undesirable and possibly dangerous part of town. There are random people at all times walking around and there is a overflowing dumpster at the corner of the street maybe 50ft from front entrance. At night there are no lights and you have to buzz yourself to get into hotel.
-Room has no AC and if you open up a window you will not sleep because the endless noise of car alarms and breaking bottles will keep you awake.
-The main elevator is incredibly small and maybe fits 2 people with 1 luggage tote. There is a smaller service elevator but both are in use at all times.
-The rooftop terrace is small and no lounge just outdoor deck furniture.
-Warning: They have a 25% surcharge for each extra guest (approx 16 euros) for each night you stay. Other hotels I have stayed at the cost is 10 euros.

nice hotel close to monastiraki square and restaurants (on the back side of the hotel), good hotel for the price and includes breakfast that is open for real early travelers. the front part of the hotel is on a market street and at the end of the street is the large fish and vegetable market (great for a visit)

True to it’s name..it truly is in the Center Square..right in the middle of the Market area. Quite bustling during the day but the room was quiet. Not much open in the area in the evening but the most amazing view of the Acropolis from the rooftop bar. A lovely welcome drink and treats. The room was spotless and the bed provided the best night’s sleep during our entire trip. I would love to return.
