I like the studio, which has an good view of the sea, and the hotel is close to the amenities and eating places.

Being a studio room, I would have love a worktable so that those on business trips can work in the room. Presently, we have to work on the bar counter will is not good as it strain the back.

The location is very good for the event that I attended. I can just walk for 5-7 minutes from the hotel to All Saints Cathedral, and it's was help me cut the transportation cost. 1st night I can't sleep well because of the itchy on my body, and I believe the bedsheets was not clean. But thanks for the cleaners that the next day after I informed the cleaners and asked them to change my bedsheets, they responded well and I have a good rest well.

Very nice hotel conveniently located in center of downtown KK. Walking distance from street markets, malls, beaches, mosques, and waterfront port areas. Room was clean and everything from water bottles, towels, and sheets were changed daily. TV had many channels in English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Malay, etc. Breakfast buffet was different everyday and served delicious local dishes including freshly brewed coffee from the cafe. Security and front desk 24/7 made us feel safe during our entire stay. Lobby staff member Mr.Genesis was extremely helpful and kind who paid the highest attention to hotel guest needs and questions about Kota Kinabalu. Thank You Cititel! Looking forward to staying again in my next visit.

Love the Strictly Non-Smoking policy!

The entire hotel is strictly no smoking. They are really strict on that even asked the guess to sign a non smoking policy! I love that! If you hate cigarrette smell, this is the hotel wont dissappoint you!

Super convenient, clean and comfortable.

Booked the single room with a window. View was okay and bed very comfortable. The good: clean, convenient, sufficient for a few nights, fuss free. Shower was powerful. Couldn't fault anything in the room.
There's no fridge, kettle, ironing board but the hot water and ironing station is next to the evelators. 3in1 coffee provided as well as a small hairdryer. TV reception was a bit wonky. The room was small but that's all I needed for a night stay. Met all my expectations. You would be able to hear people talking outside as they walk by but generally quiet enough. Some construction work may be heard occasionally, but minimal. Restaurants are just outside and plenty of massage centres. I had a very good massage at Zen Borneo Reflexology at Asia City complex next door. Walking distance to the markets and everything else. Definitely recommended for a fuss free, afforable stay.

The actual room does not match with decription

The description of the room was city view and the photos also with window but in fact, all 3 rooms booked were without window, it should be stated clearly, the description is misleading and the photos do not reflect the actual condition, I truly felt being cheated.

Fast check in & check out. Friendly staff. Comfortable room. Great location. Many restaurants around including Welcome Seafood and Borenos Fried Chicken (24 hrs). Coin operated laundry and 24 hours shop nearby. Ample parking space.

Only the price and location is fine.

Property is old, we booked three rooms, one of the room’s door is broken, request to change room, being rejected. The reason is full house while we can see clearly that Expedia are still selling the rooms. Even we ask for upgrade with supplement,they said full.

One night, we have no free water provided in two rooms and we call to front desk, the staff asked us to get next to the lift(there are water machine). The main point is they forgot to provide.And we asked to send the bottled water back, they said if you request, i can provide(bad attitude). Finally come with two bottles only which two rooms have no water.

It is very noisy which we can clearly hear outside voice like the airplane sounds and the shops selling sounds, even we can hear our next rooms voice.

my experience in cititel

to share my experience in cititel i hope other people will not experience like i am last week. Cititel receptionist trying to ask me extra room charge because of im asking to change room (air condition are not working and stuffy). Bad experience as well during check out as well as they wanted to penalty by charging extra day because of late check out. I do not recommend this hotel again since they look like wanted to take advance of me and their customer service is really bad.

The locations is great, almost central to everything, if not the walk isn't long. Uber ride from airport to this hotel is about 12-15 MYR around 4pm and depends on traffic.

The only bad thing about this is the small size rooms. I got the standard room with city view, It's really small, about 100 sqft and bathroom.

Fine hotel but too many door bangings

In the three days I stayed there I was awaken no less than 15-16 times by a guest slamming his/her door. I have experienced this before, especially on hotels with too many room close-by, but never to this extend. The apparent reason is that guests do not trust the locking system (indeed many locks seem a bit old) but also many of them seem to be first time traveller and have not a lot of consideration for others. There also are renovations going on (on the 6th and 7th floors I was told) so all in all this was NOT a restful stay. Rooms are modern enough and air conditioning (with climate control) is simply fantastic. But there is no small fridge (nor minibar) and the cable tv system is very limited. But wifi worked great.

Not a leisure worthy place to stay !

Check-in was fast and we were looking forward for a comfortable rest in the room after the long journey. Read the hotel review and viewed the room images before booking, we thought its a perfect place for a good leisure; since there are quite a number of eateries and shops nearby the hotel. In less than an hour upon check-in, we decided to check-out ! Room was too cramped up ! Me and my hubby were basically bumping on to each other even to move around in the room. Felt like trapped in a mini-box. Since we booked upfront online, refund was not possible. Wasted $$$ paid for 3 nights stay at Cititel.
