Good breakfast offerings albeit very busy and some guests desperately hungry. Nice pool and good gym. Entrance foyer doesn’t have any real ambience although there is a coffee shop and the in house nightclub can get quite loud. Friendly staff. Room serviced each day. It’s a Hilton.

Poor location. Many closed down shops behind the hotel.
No hot water for shower and no instruction for use of coffee machine.
3 pm checkout will be charged 50% of room rate even though hotel was empty on Sunday.
Only the concierge/Bell service Team
was friendly.
Room service menu sucks.
Will not stay here again.

Great location not far from the airport as well as conveniently close to ammenities in the city, Hotel and room was well equipped with comfortable bed, spacious room and shower, pool is very well kept and presented with nice loungers and good drink/food service ( not cheap though but worth as a treat) Service was impeccable from check in , breakfast was well organised with great variety of food and beverage , i had a late check with a late flight in the evening they kindly allowed me to use the pool for the day so i could relax, chill and have a shower prior making my way to the airport. Excellent customer service!!

A very bad experience in this hotel, especially from the hotel receptionist. I paid more than double the amount to include breakfast and to change the room. 1- She claimed that breakfast was not included. 2- Booking from 9/18/2023 to 9/22/2023.

Staff were super efficient. Check in and check - out was quick and easy. They sent a text to ask if we needed anything and communicated via WhatsApp. I asked for some instructions to get to the nearby Guardian and they were very quick to send them to me.

They also kindly allowed us to get a late check out. It was really helpful as my partner was not well and needed more time to rest after our late flight in.

Only comment for improvement is the standard/quality of the food for room service could be better.

Pleasant stay at Hilton Kota Kinabalu. We used it for a short stay within the city, close to the airport before we were off our resort. Really convenient from all the markets especially to Gaya street where you can enjoy the weekend activities and mingling with the locals. The hotel is very well kept as well and the staff were very pleasant.

The stay itself was pleasant, and the beds were very comfortable. However, I would have liked to see that the hotel would be more eco-friendly. There are still plastic water bottles in the hotel room, instead of filtered water that you can fill your own water bottles with, and that the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were in small plastic bottles. Better with dispensers that they have at other five-star hotels.

Also, the hotel missed to book the cab for the airport, and we had to wait for almost 30 minutes for the cab to arrive. That is not what I expect from Hilton.

Clean and centralised location within city center. There is a large seafood reataurant behind selling fresh fish, crab and lala (we ate 3 tines there for our 5 day stay there!
Night drinks at The Club are very affordable too. It was easy to move ard using grab cab as well.

Service is unsatisfactory. We asked for our rooms to be cleaned in the morning and was told they will do so at 1.30pm. it wasn't cleaned till 4.45pm and I called for service again before it's done and only 1 room was being cleaned

The staff at the people did not stop guests who did not change to proper swimwear into the pool and there are guests going into the pool in their normal attire.

Strategic location but service need improvements

No housekeeping despite i requested twice for it. Thus no amenities and mineral water replenishment and you have to call them to get it. Breaskfast is horror. Served in set (cmco) and the same menu everyday. 4 boring choices. Dining outlet closed by 10.30pm. Staffs were good and polite though.

Overall a good hotel, well located, but feels more like a 4.5 star hotel, so loses points on value. Staff are all great, so makes up for anything lacking in the hotel quality. Room are functional but clean and comfortable. Was hoping for a roof bar, but its more of a restaurant and the main bar on the ground floor is load and smoke-filled, so don't expect to have somewhere to sit an relax with a drink. Breakfast is geared towards the Asian market, feels more like lunch in many ways, but still enough choice to be satisfied.

Hilton you did it again !!!

My trip to Malaysia was amazing mainly because of the Hilton.
From the pick up at the airport to the front desk check in.
Location was 15 minute ride from the airport the car was clean and the driver was friendly. Check in was fast and efficient.
The hotel is clean with a fresh fragrant smell all the time. It was decorated for the Christmas Holiday.
The room was a good size very modern and up to date and clean. The only problem in the room was that the si me water drained very slowly ( room 1031). Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices.
The front desk was always available to help with directions or suggestions. Location was great walking distance to Asia City with many stores and restaurants. I had the executive suite very much recommended. Be sure to bring dressier shoes because flip flops are not allowed their or in the club on site.
Walking distance to the Mall. Download grab for transportation. Visit Jesselton lots to see and do.
Check out was easy. They even held onto my luggage while we remained in the city until our red eye flight.

A return trip here after an overnight at Sandakan. Not upgraded this time. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room needs a thorough clean, especially the bathroom, particularly the sink area - it's black around the edges. Had a bizarre leak from the ceiling area and came back to a massive puddle of water in the entry way to the bathroom with water still running down the walls. Techs were sent to fix, and drained the aircon overflow tray in the ceiling which seems to fix the problem. The hotel is in a handy location for exploring the centre of town and the swimming pool is fabulous to cool off in during the heat of the middle of the day. Enjoyed the bar downstairs with live music (but forgot how much smoking is still allowed). My sister totally enjoyed the massages by the pool.

We Just have few days getaway to Sabah to celebrate our Anniversary. We asked for possibility for room upgrade and in return we asked by for additional charges for room upgrade with 2 hours meeting package. But, they upgraded us in high floor without charges finally.
Frankly speaking, we were disappointed for Hilton and felt wrongly chosen in this trip. Normal city hotel with crowds, if u are looking for a relax atmosphere, this might not a good choice.

I was asked to wait an hour and a half for check in - though the room was empty - following policy rather than going the extra mile to make us feel welcome. Was told wifi would be an extra RM15 per day, but was actually upgraded to an executive room and the wifi charge would be waved - great, what hotels charge for wifi these days? Breakfast seemed expensive RM98 per person, so we ate out - there are many places nearby where a good meal costs RM20, cheaper options are around RM8. The room was clean and modern with a great TV and many USB points to charge devices. The rooftop pool was excellent. Staff were super nice. Live music in the evening at the bar was cool, even if drinks were at western prices. Enjoyed the half price cakes after 5pm. A nice hotel - worth the price.

A must to avoid hotel.

(1) Around 3am on 5/9/2019 I called Housekeeping to order a bottle of water. No one answered my calls. I then called Room Service. No one answered my calls. I then called Front Desk. No one answered my calls. I thought that's OK as it was 3 am in the morning although I desperately needed some drinking water for taking my medication. I eventually chose to call the Emergency Number. Again no one answered my calls for a long time. That's scary and unforgivable indicating that the hotel's security and emergency systems are not working.
(2) On 6/9/2019 morning I decided to have breakfast at the hotel. When I walked into the restaurant (I couldn't remember the name) and asked for a table, the receptionist checked her computer and responded that my room package doesn't include breakfast and seriously reminded me that I would need to pay for the breakfast out of my own pocket. Her attitude was that I might not be willing to pay for the breakfast and she sounded worrying that I might walk away the restaurant without paying for it. I complained to one of the restaurant managers and he apologised.
