I booked this hotel based on the pictures from the official website. The photos looked wonderful and created the impression of a charming and beautiful place worth staying in. Unfortunately, reality was very different.

The hotel itself feels extremely old, neglected, and more like a student dormitory than a proper hotel. The rooms were not clean — there was dust everywhere, and the housekeeping was careless. The staff were unfriendly, rarely smiled, and gave no sense of hospitality. The building smells of humidity, which makes the stay uncomfortable.

The water quality was especially disappointing. The tap water was salty, so it was not even possible to brush teeth properly, let alone drink it. Until around 6 p.m., the showers only provided cold water, and the pressure was extremely weak.

Overall, the conditions were far from what was shown in the photos. I regret booking this place and cannot recommend it.

The property was nice but our room 203 when we went to shower the drain on the outside of the shower started flooding. I went to the front desk and all they did was put towels on the floor and the bathroom floor was extremely wet. We asked for a different room and they said nothing was available and gave us even more towels for the floor. The air conditioning in the room is old and the only way to keep it somewhat cold you have to leave the flat key in and remove the actual key. But the AC was not that cold. Breakfast was decent in the morning. I believe if the room didn’t flood it would have been a better experience for the 4 of us.

The hotel is in the centre of Zakynthos town, close to excellent local family run restaurants. Parking is a challenge as the hotel does not have onsite parking. The breakfast is very good with sufficient options to eat healthily (ie high protein options - boiled eggs and fresh yogurt).

Doesn’t worth one penny . The hotel it’s completely outdated . You can’t find plugs for the phone . You can’t even use the AC if you want to enjoy the balcony . We booked a double bad and they split us up on twins and they ( front desk ) didn’t even tell us . Bottom line waist of money . There is plenty around we enjoy it at Palmyra .

My room was small and drab but very clean and satisfactory for my needs. The public areas, greeting area, dining room, pool etc. are quite nice. The breakfast buffet is wonderful. Location is excellent for shopping and even a swim in the sea. Take your swim shoes because the bottom is rocky but the water is crystal clear.

The pictures that the hotel has uploaded are heavily edited and also do not match the real condition and look of the room. The hotel bathrooms and rooms are much older than they appear online.
In addition to this, the rooms booked were not clean. This was the biggest disappointment and completely unacceptable. There is rust in the bathtub as well. The hotel did not want to provide refunds, however after much discussion at the front desk and an email to the manager we are now expecting a full refund for our rooms. Inconveniently, we also had to find another last minute nearby booking for our trip. The Expedia Team was great for support. The hotel however was a very disappointing experience and we don’t recommend this stay.

Very nice property with lovely pool at the rooftop, and amazing view from the top. We stayed in double bedroom and the hotel gave us extra foldable bed for our son (free of charge). We had a tiny balcony but at least could dry off our clothes. The room comes with nice breakfast (coffee machine &nice variety of food, eggs, vegetables, yoghurt, honey, feta cheese, cakes, pastry; could be nice to have more fruits as there were only watermelon& melon). Staff is very friendly& helpful, both in housekeeping department and at the reception. They helped us organise rented car at good price. Thank you Strada Marina Team ❤️🇬🇷🤩

Great location, helpful and friendly staff. The bathrooms could use updating and the bathroom floor didn’t seem to have been mopped for a while. Apart from that it was great. I think it’s the best hotel breakfast that we’ve had, there could be more vegan options. I bought vegan milk from a local supermarket and kept it in the room fridge for breakfast each day. Was a joy to walk on the reception door into the air con! The rooftop pool was very small, and no space for us so we were unable to use it for the 5 days we were there. Great views from the roof terrace. Shower situation could be updated.

When I took a shower, I felt the water was a little salty. But I think this is not hotel’s issue, it’s island issue.
There is a big road in front of the hotel, so it was a little noisy. It was fine for me, but not good for one of my friends.

You walk out the door and you can immediately have shopping and dinning a few steps away. The optional sea views and balcony are so worth the extra money. The downside is the morning buffet was identical every day and after 8 days was tiring and the dinner meal only had two main options.

Poor breakfast, cleanness, pool was closed on a Sunday, staff weren’t helpful, request a duvet never got it. The only advantage for this property is the location itself that is in town. However I would not recommend as a four star hotel, it is far from that.

The hotel location is great, could not be more central. Make sure to book a room with sea view, all the other rooms have balconies so small that only 1 person can sit there. The room was clean and functional but the shower cubicle was very small. The breakfast was good and the staff at reception very helpful. The best thing about the hotel is the roof garden - with a bar, a small pool and amazing views.

In the Middle of It All

If you want to stay in the middle of downtown Zakynthos, this is the best bang for your buck, but don't expect a modern hotel. That said, good breakfast buffet, clean, and helpful staff, with an incredible view of the harbor. Would probably stay at villa during next island visit, but suited our purposes this time around.

Really nice hotel, heart of town center and just next to Marina.. Classic room is good size but bathroom was really small, you can barely stand in shower cubicle.. hence we asked for upgrade to sea view room which was excellent .. Morning sunrise from balcony with a coffee mug, couldn't ask for more. Breakfast was excellent, you can make your own Greek coffee ! Parking might be an issue, Hotel got 3 spaces of their own, but street parking is free if you find one .. Roof top restaurant was closed, may be season is over but when its open, sea view would have been amazing ...Overall very pleasant stay ..

I was single when I booked but I always book a double room. By the time I was going I had a partner and phoned to add his name and was assured that as I had paid for a double room - a huge supplement - that he could be added with no problem and that just to pay additional breakfast fees on arrival.
When we arrived - they were obviously over booked and had stuck me in a single bed room and conveniently forgot about my partner. They finally 'found' a double room for us but we had to move rooms mid stay. We complained as I had paid a supplement for a double room anyway. on the last night - they watched us go out to Dinner and an hour later sent a text message offering us a free dinner... well they knew we had already gone out to dinner so could not accept this. Very bad management and bad customer service! We would never go there again.

Strada marina - October half term\n

The roof swimming pool area was closed during our stay despite of sunny weather. The pool was advertised on their website so very disappointing.
The breakfast was a bit boring staying there for 6 days and eating a scrambled eggs and sausages was something that we were not looking forward to everyday.

The bathrooms are linked to another so while taking shower you literally can hear what the neighbor next door is doing such as teeth brushing, shower or using a toilet - not nice at all

The only good thing was a view from the balcony- beautiful every day

Great looking hotel facing the marina, though situated on a busy road. We booked a superior sea view facing room which had a good sized balcony with a fab view over the marina and bay opposite, the main square to your left and cathedral to the right, but in having this room type do get get traffic noise - which can get noisy, we stayed in October I dread to think how busy it gets in high season. Bizarre bathroom layout, sink too large for the bathroom, had to shimmy a bit to get to the toilet and the weirdest shower cubicle thing I've ever seen - like a mini bath with little step, very odd. Bed for me not comfortable to this is just a personal comfort choice, my husband liked the harder mattress. Good choice at breakfast with usual cheeses and hams, eggs, bacon plus cereal and yoghurt and fruits and a vast array of pastries. Lovely rooftop pool with a huge terrace offering sunbeds and bar (sadly closed while we were there). Would we stay here again, most definately.

Luckily, we booked one of the cheaper, but spacious rooms facing the quiet, green courtyard, rather than one of the more expensive but noisier rooms with seaview. You can still enjoy the glorious panorama from the roof terrace at any time. Our room came with desk and enormous (king-size) mirror. The most enjoyable warm and cold breakfast buffet was of similar dimensions. One word of warning for the lovers of running sweet water: Be prepared to use salt water (tap, shower) in the bath room and never go to Zakynthos without mosquito repellent!

I have visited Zakynthos frequently, but never before during (Orthodox) Easter, which fell very late this year.
I remember the Strada Marina being built on the harbour-front in the early 1970s, but I have never stayed there before now.

Considering its age, it must have been very well maintained over the years, although I can't comment on the pool which was not yet open. Our room was at the front of the hotel, very spacious, and the view from the balcony was just as I'd imagined - fabulous!
Although it was a very busy time for them, the staff were always courteous and helpful, taking time to explain the island's traditional Easter celebrations, some of which are unique.

We found it easy to park our hire car (the hotel has no parking space of its own), and the town was relatively quiet, but things were on the verge of picking up by Easter Monday/early May when we spotted the first horse and carriage and tourist \"train\" rides, and of course the first charter flights arriving.

It was a great time to tour the island, as the wild flowers and herbs make such a difference to the scenery, and the air was very clear. We had much more sun than cloud, and only a few drops of rain.
The beaches were deserted (bringing back happy memories), but for maximum sea-bathing temperature, it's best to choose one of the many shallow beaches and wait till the evening.

More noticeable In the resorts, the locals were making final preparations, relaxed and friendly in the calm before the storm!

Don't stay here!

Worst experience ever! We are experienced travelers and would rate this as one of the worst. Rooms are horrible nothing like the photos on the Internet. We demanded a room change as the first one was disgusting. This hotel needs a major makeover. Leftover food trays left in hallways for over 2 days!!
The only nice part of it is the rooftop bar/pool but this is not enough to warrant a stay here. Stay elsewhere!

This hotel is really well located. Just steps to everything in the city. The sea view rooms all have a fantastic view of the port. The rest of the hotel needs to be renovated (Old carpets, old TV sets ,old elevators...) the rooftop pool and bar are very nice.Parking is not free although it is advertised as such. They mean you can find your own parking on the street(which can be quite difficult). Overall it was a pleasant stay.

My wife and I have been coming to this hotel for the last year also, we have always found it very friendly The rooms are a good standard and is a good base, if you want to travel around or go to the mainland and come back where there is always a smile from the helpful staff when you get there and when you leave The reception can advise you about good restaurants and transportation in and around the area of the town

I booked a water view room, was given side lane room, needs to pay additional 15euros per day. No compassion from management,
Wifi very weak
Noisy corridors, floating wooden floors and you here every one walking early morning
Housekeeping very loud in the morning in the corridors
Breakfast very basic and at times lattice food (run out)
