The stylish luxury hotel is situated directly on the promenade by the Baltic Sea. The Lübeck-Travemünde train station is situated only 200 m away from the family-friendly beach hotel.
The centre of Travemünde is approximately 1. 5 km from the spa complex and guests will find restaurants, shops, the beach, a park and links to the public transport network all within a 2-minute walk from the hotel.
The lake Hemmelsdorfer See is roughly 10 km from the golf hotel and Lübeck is around 18 km away. Built in 1914 and renovated in 2009, this superior hotel offers a classic, luxurious ambience, where clients can enjoy top residential comfort, exquisite gourmet cuisine, and service which is both friendly and efficient.
The air-conditioned historical hotel offers 72 rooms in total and welcomes guests in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services, a hotel safe, a cloakroom and lift access. Further facilities include a casino, a café, a bar, a restaurant, conference facilities and WLAN Internet access.
For an additional fee, guests may also make use of the room and laundry services, a car park and a bicycle hire service. Fancy pants hotel but disappointing outcome
We booked 2 rooms. If I was rating room 222, it would be 5 stars. Cold AC room on some of the hottest days in Germany and wifi worked great! But the other room, 223 was the hottest most ridiculous room a person could stay in. Not even the fridge was cold. Wifi worked half the time. Staff were zero help and no intention of fixing.
Half the staff were friendly. Half were not. Procedures for beach card, pool, and breakfast were not explained. Pool was refreshing and never packed even with 6 peraon rule. Close walk to splash pad and beach. Be prepared for many locals to not speak English. Breakfast was ok but did serve sect!

This hotel was not willing to work with me concerning my travel plans. I was stranded in a foreign country with different reservations for their sister hotel, also \"Atlantic Hotel Luebeck\", a mistake that ended up with me paying for 2 rooms with the Atlantic Hotel when I only stayed in one. They solidly told me that they could not help me even though I paid for the room. I am a single female traveler that arrived late at night, and they even refused to discuss the matter with me, even though all of my friends were paying customers as well. We will not be returning.

Good place for a short stay in Travemunde area
Hotel looks great from outside and lobby is very nice, the room was a disappointment. We had booked a \"maisonnette\" unaware that this was a two level room, where only the bathroom and a very small area is on the first level and the room with everything else on the upper level. Very unpractical, unless you are only there for a week-end with a small bag you can easily carry between the two levels...so we asked to change rooms and were given a room with the front door giving in the stairwell (!).... With no view and awkward design with pillars ( hazardous)....all around the room...breakfast buffet was extensive and very good. Easy parking and great location to visit surrounding great cities like Lubeck and Schwerin..

Columbia Hotel Travemuende - a true 5 stars!
This hotel exceeds all expectations and then some! Ideally located close to the boardwalk and train station, the rooms are a delight, with every small thoughtful detail placed to bring contentment - right down to your choice of pillows. The staff are courteous and extremely knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast buffet is a little piece of heaven, especially when taken outside on the patio on a glorious sunny morning. For those who need to sneak in a little bit of work, the internet connection is fully reliable. And the spa facilities deliver a high-end experience. For those who prefer to ride a bicycle than walk, these are also available to guests. All in all, a wonderful experience of this exceptional region.

Altes Hotel in bester Lage. Wer ein Zimmer mit Meerblick möchte, sollte Details erfragen. Wir wurden für über 300 Euro die Nacht im Dachgeschoss untergebracht (warm). Den Meerblick konnten wir nur im Stehen genießen (eine Art Oberlicht). Die Minibar war inklusive. Zu meiner Verwunderung war sie aber nur mit zwei kleinen Flaschen Wasser ausgestattet, die nicht einmal regelmäßig nachgefüllt wurden.
Die weiblichen Mitarbeiter der Rezeption waren tendenziell arrogant, aber freundlich. Wir sind um 10.30 Uhr mit Jetlag angereist, haben dies zum Ausdruck gebracht und mussten bis nach 14 Uhr warten (Check-in Zeit 15 Uhr). Rechtlich ok.
Das Zimmer war geräumig. Im ansonsten schönen Badezimmer gab es in einer schönen begehbaren Dusche nur eine Handbrause (Premiere für mich in sehr guten und auch schlechten Hotels).
Das wahre Plus ist die Frühstücksterrasse und ein phantastisches Personal, das an der Ostsee seines Gleichen sucht. Auch das Personal der Bar hat Freude gemacht.
Der Fitnessraum ist sehr gut ausgestattet, leider isr er zu warm, da er direkt an den Wellnessbereich angrenzt.
Fazit: Es gibt deutlich bessere Alternativen an der Ostsee in diesem Preisseqment (Hohe Düne, Steigenberger Grand Hotel in Heringsdorf). Nächste Woche mache ich den nächsten Test.

Am besten haben mir die Zimmer und der Ausblick gefallen. Leider wirkt das große, in die Jahre gekommene Hotel etwas marode und aus der Zeit gefallen. Es müsste belebter und fröhlicher gestaltet werden, vielleicht könnte man mit tollen Veranstaltungen ein wenig mehr Leben in das alte Gemäuer hauchen.

Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Morgens beim Frühstück schon gleich das freundliche Personal , so aufmerksam und immer nah am Menschen. Toll ! Das Haus selbst ist schön und bietet einiges, allein der Tee in der Eingangshalle , sehr lobenswert. Die Bar ist auch super. Schön hell. Nächstes Mal testen wir auch die Zigarren Lounge aus.

Der Service war zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich.
Das einzige Manko war unser Badezimmer, da dieses stellenweise staubig, mit Spinnenweben und in der Dusche mit Grünspan und Schimmel war.

Perfekte Lage, leider keine Tiefgaragenplätze, für einfache Stellpätze im Freien € 13,— zu nehmen, kann man, passt aber nicht zu den Zimmerpreisen. Begrüßung am Empfang ging überhaupt nicht. Die Startfrage „wenn darf ich begrüßen“. Das zugewiesene Zimmer, war extrem dunkel mit einer niedrigen Deckenhöhe. Wir haben nach einem anderem Zimmer gefragt. Es würden uns 2 Zimmer angeboten (auf den Aufpreis für die Terrasse in Höhe von € 10 hätte man aus Kulanz sicherlich verzichten können, da die Anreise um 19:30 erfolgte und wir für eine Nacht nur gebucht hatten und somit die Nutzung eher nicht gegeben war). Service im Restaurant am Abend soweit ok.

Wenn man mal ein 5 Sterne Grand Hotel auswählt und dafür mehr als das Zweieinhalbfache eines 4 Sterne Hotels bezahlt, hat man natürlich auch Erwartungen. Die erste, sein Zimmer um 14 Uhr auch beziehen zu können, wurde enttäuscht, auch kein Angebot an der Bar zB ein Freigetränk zu bekommen. So beschäftigten wir uns mit dem WLAN, das übrigens (neues Einloggen) etwas kompliziert ist. Das \"Comfort\" Doppelzimmer, das wir dann später bezogen, war leider nicht besonders groß! Dies gilt leider auch für den Wellnessbereich, der darüberhinaus noch völlig ohne Tageslicht auskommen muss. Beim Frühstück musste meine Freundin erst mal darum bitten, die etwas altmodisch wirkenden Vitrinen auch aufzufüllen, von alleine passierte da nichts. Ein Highlight immerhin: der frische helle Matjes gehörte zu den besten seiner Art! Insgesamt aber hatten wir mehr erwartet von diesem Grand Hotel vergangener Tage. . .

Wir haben ein Wochenende in diesem tollen Hotel verbracht und waren begeistert. Das gastronomische Angebot ist hervorragend, insbesondere Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr gut.
Uns ist leider nicht aufgefallen, dass es sich bei den Betten in einem Doppelzimmer um zwei einzelne Betten handelt. Das war ein kleiner Wermutstropfen.

Es ist immer noch ein gutes Hotel. Der \"Star\" dieses Hotels ist das traditionelle Haus selber. Gegenüber unserem letzten Besuch wurden jedoch leider einige negative Abstriche gemacht. Evtl. hat dies mit der neuerlichen Übernahme durch eine Hotel-Kette zu tun. Der Empfang ist nicht mehr so herzlich, eher kühl. Auch der Concierge-Bereich war etwas \"verwahrlost\". Das Frühstück-Buffet, welches vorher enorm reichhaltig war, wurde spürbar auf Normal-Niveau gekürzt. Draussen sitzen am Abend ist nicht so gemütlich: Die Strandkörbe sind weg, es hat wenige Lounge-Garnituren, die gemütlichen Fackeln sind noch. Sehr schlecht für ein 5-Sterne-Hotel finde ich die sehr einfachen, billigen Matratzen und die sehr dünnen, kleinen Badetücher. Zudem sieht man, dass in einigen Bereichen eine Auffrischung/Pflege nötig wäre. Angenehm ist es, dass das Hotel eher wenige Zimmer hat und somit weniger Gäste.

Först gick jag till fel hotell, det finns ett Atlantic Hotel på Kaiseralle 2A... Nej Grand Atlantic Hotel var rätt och det är ett pampigt hotell med imponerande rum. Jag fick rum mot gatan, en etagevåning med säng och kontorsbord på övervåningen, badrum och stol och bord på nedervåningen. Bra läge på hotellet och en fantastisk utsikt mot havet om man är på den sidan, restaurangen är där förstås och frukosten vill man gärna dröja kvar vid. Väldigt bra, väldigt trevligt.

schon bei der Ankunft stand zwar ein Portier vor der Türe, bot nicht einmal an die Koffer zu tragen, Empfangsdame sehr freundlich u. hat sogar das Zimmer gezeigt, dies allerdings mit Röhrenfernseher u. schlechtes Bild. Haare waren auch vom Vorgänger/in im Bad - hatte ein Maisonette Zimmer - bei einem Preis von Euro ca. 200.- hätte ich mir etwas anderes gewünscht. Frühstück war prima, entspannend auf der Terrasse zu sitzen und den Blick aufs Meer genießen.
Das Hallenschwimmbad ist sehr schmal und im hinteren Bereich war alles dunkel kein Licht um 7.30 Uhr, auch die Duschen im SPA - Bereich funktionierten nicht richtig.
