There are three aspects that make this property absolutely outstanding:
1. The view from the room is simply sensational. Sitting on the balcony taking in the beach and the sea is sublime.
2. The spa. Where do you get three large saunas and a pool? Very enjoyable.
3. The breakfast is top notch. It might feel a bit busy, but once you sit next to the window overlooking there beach, all is forgotten. The buffet offers all the trimmings and the omelette was just right.

Great location right next to the promenade, great views from most of the rooms. Great breakfast buffet. A place that seems to be preferred by older generations. If travelling by car avoid parking in the underground car park, it's expensive and there are other options close by.

Stay at the Maritim

I stayed for business, but the local area is very pretty and relaxing.
The building works every morning at 8am weren't so great and the lack of air conditioning was a little troublesome, but luckily it wasn't too hot. Better pillows are definitely needed as I woke with a stiff neck most mornings.The decor is quite dated, but it does the job and is clean.
The wifi is terrible, but the general area has pretty bad mobile service.
Breakfast is great, the shower was always warm and powerful and service was always with a smile.

Great hotel and location - would stay again!

This hotel was great! Perfect location - right on the beach and close to shops and restaurants. Service was very kind and helpful. Wonderful complimentary breakfast. The room could use a few updates, but overall very clean and comfortable. The only real downside was construction is going on next to the hotel, so we woke early to sounds from the workers, but that's out of the hotel's control. I would definitely stay here again.

Staying there after the boat trip from Helsinki was comfortable for me and my pets.

I was on my way to southern Europe and wanted to start with a restful night on my arrival at Travemúnde, which I like so much. My pets enjoyed the outdoor walks but there was almost too much animal traffic so they got really excited. Anyway, we slept well and I had a substantial breakfast. Thank you for the service you offered.

great Palace to relax with a wonderful view

I wanted to relax, and this worked out very well. The Massage at the spa was great and the view in the morning fantastic. Everybody was very friendly. It was nice to have a Restaurant inside with good food.the Hotel is little old, so the inferior Kind of old fashioned and the bathroom not too nice anymore.

The Hotel that Overbooked their Rooms

Our reason for booking the Maritim Hotel was strictly for the view of the Baltic from the room's balcony, with all its ship and boating activity. When we arrived at the hotel we were told there was no room for us although we had booked and PAID for the hotel several months prior to our stay. They were expecting our arrival and had booked us into a hotel in the area. The hotel was a three story (5-star) hotel. Our room had a small semi-circle window that was too high to see out of and it faced away from the water, so no view. We feel strongly that we did not receive a fair trade based on our reasons for being there in the first place. We are from Canada and will not get the opportunity to go back to the area again. The Maritim did offer us a free supper at their hotel and a free trip to their 35th floor for the view and some beer/wine but none of this made up for the disappointment we felt. I am angry that this could happen when booking through hotels.com.

Nice but older hotel

The Maritim is in a beautiful location and the staff was excellent. The views were fabulous, the food was very good, the room was comfortable, but over all, the hotel was very outdated.There was not real useable wifi, no air condition. The televisions were very old. The chairs in the room seemed rather old, and somewhat dirty and smelly. It was like a flashback to the 80's. I know that Maritim is an excellent brand hotel in Germany, but this did not meet our expectations from other Maritim Hotels where we stayed. It was ok, but not the quality or class of accommodations that we expected.

You can't miss the hotel! Friendly staff, nice restaurant with brilliant buffet breakfast.
Pool area's just been refurbished and really good. Not sure if you have to pay for sauna as
It's in a different part of the spa. Hotel gave us an Oyster card so we didn't have to pay to go on beach and received a discount to visit the sailing ship.
There wasn't tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was a shame, but overall a good hotel.

Travemunde is the gateway to Scandanavia on the Baltic Sea. This town is very cute with alot of history and just 20 mins by Train from the Unesco listed Lubeck and 1 hour from Hamburg.
If in the warmer months you are after some time to relax with sea, surf and sand and many cafes and restuarants then this is the place to be.
Maritim Strandhotel Travemuende is every bit the 4 stars it is rated. From customer service, room facilities and hotel services nothing is questionable.
The port is very busy with many ships coming and going. The only concern is that you need to pay to use the beach which is not friendly to me as a tourist.

Great views though a little tired!

Stayed here for a weekend in December - booked very early and got a stunning rate through Expedia. I had a corner bedroom, almost a suite with views over the river and towards the Baltic. With snow on the ground it was very picturesque.
Hotel is very luxurious but if I was to be picky, I would say the room needed updating (my hand basin was cracked and the shower was difficult to point where I wanted it). That said, the room was enormous, comfortable and with extras like robes and some fruit. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it.

Great Location, Restaurant not kid friendly

Nice hotel, right on the beach with walking areas, shopping, etc. at the doorstep. We arrived after area services had closed and tried to eat at the restaurant in the hotel. The restaurant is not well set up for eating with kids and the restaurant wait staff even gave us the cold shoulder by not taking our order, so we left after about 15 minutes of waiting. We ordered Room Service, which was good, but I would stick to the simple dishes, as the \"fancy\" fish platter was over-cooked and dry.

If you are only staying one night you can park in a public parking lot right next door that is almost as convenient as the hotel parking lot for free from 6pm to 10 am.

Rundum ein tolles Hotel. Zimmer war sauber, Personal sehr freundlich. Tiefgarage vorhanden oder vor dem Haus ein großer kostenpflichtiger Parkplatz. Frühstücksbuffett sehr reichhaltig gibt alles was das Herz begehrt. Direkt am Strand gelegen. Einzige Nachteil es gibt keine Klimaanlage und empfand es bei 24 Grad sehr warm im Zimmer. Ich komme nächstes Jahr wieder 😁

Das Hotel ist mir schon von früheren Besuchen bekannt. Letzter Termin im Jahr 2021 oder 2022.
Jedes Mal wurde mir erwähnt, dass die Modernisierung der Zimmer etc. jetzt umgehend stattfinden würde.
Aber auf der Etage wo ich untergebracht war: Nichts...
Vielmehr war der Kühlschrank/Minibar aus der vorgesehenen Stelle \"herausgenommen\".... und stand neben dem Zugang zum Balkon. Für ein 4 **** Hotel unmöglich. Zimmer - Safe war auch nicht in Ordnung. Teppichboden hat auch auch schon bessere Zeiten erlebt. Die \"Ausstattung\" auf der Etage, wo ich auch 2021/2022 unterbracht war (4. Etage) war m.E. unzumutbar.

Ok place for an overnight stay

We were probably a bit unlucky with our stay, as we happened to arrive during Travemünde Woche, with lots of activities and concerts right outside the hotel. Loud music and heavy bass went on late into the night. That was a bit of a disappointment, especially since we had paid extra for a nice room with a balcony and sea view.

The room itself was comfortable, and the view was fantastic. However, the air conditioning was either absent or not working properly, so it turned into a warm night. In the end, we had to air out the room through the balcony, even though it was discouraged.

Otherwise, there were few amenities. Room service closed early, and the bar—which was supposed to stay open late—was closed before 9 p.m.

Beautiful beaches. The surrounding area is a bit worn, but still charming. A decent place to stop for a night.

Ausgezeichnetes Frühstücksbuffett, ebenso das abendliche Dinnerbuffett.
Das Restaurant bietet auch ein gute Küche und zu normalen Preisen. Guter Service.
Unser Zimmer (12. Stock) mit tollem Blick war groß und mit dem Eckbalkon wunderbar. Betten seht gut!
Das Mobiliar leider schon sehr veraltet, genauso das kleine Bad - duschen in der Badewanne ohne Haltemöglichkeit beim Ein- und Aussteigen - nichts für Knieprobelme. Wie machen das die älteren Menschen, die es reichlich im Haus gab?
Schade!
Das jüngere Personal am Empfang war teilweise leider nicht sehr motiviert bis desinteressiert. Hatten auch wenig Ahnung, wenn man etwas wissen wollte z.B. zu der \"Ostseecard\", auf die wir beim einchecken nicht mal hingewiesen wurden... die steckte einfach bei der Zimmercodekarte, wo wir sie zufällig entdeckten.
Auch schade.
Speisesaal mit Blick zur Ostsee ist sehr schön, klassisch möbliert mit guten Stühlen.
Lage sehr gut, Strandpromenade und Sandstrand direkt hinter dem Hotel, ohne Straße dazwischen.
Alles ist fußläufig leicht erreichbar, selbst der Bahnhof \"Strand\".
Grundsätzlich empfehlenswert, von den o.g. Dingen abgesehen.

Aber der Zustand der Möbel, Fenster und Bad meines Zimmers im 6.OG hat mich sehr entsetzt. Absolut sanierungsbedürftig.

Der Wohlfühlfaktor im Maritim Travemünde ist bestens.
Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, hell und geräumig.
Es fehlt an nichts, und falls man einen Wunsch hat wird versucht diesen schnellstmöglich zu erfüllen.
Das gesamte Hotel-Team ist sehr freundlich und professionell.
Meine Erwartungen wurden in jeder Hinsicht übertroffen.
Ich werde hier so oft wie möglich ein Zimmer buchen.

Die Zimmer im 4. Stock sind in die Jahre gekommen, aber die Aussicht vom Balkon war fantastisch.
Nach Auskunft des wirklich sehr freundlichen Rezeptionisten steht dieser Bereich des Hotels unter Denkmalschutz und kann nur mit großem Aufwand renoviert werden.
Frühstücksbüffet war nicht außergewöhnlich, aber abwechslungsreich und lecker mit Blick aufs Wasser.
Für den gezahlten Preis eine absolute Empfehlung!
