Welcome to 4-Star Superior Hotel Holiday Inn Lubeck. Our hotel is located directly at the historic Castle Gate, not far from numerous sights, such as the Holsten Gate and the Niederegger marzipan café.

We look forward to welcoming you with sincere hospitality that is so typical for our Hanseatic city!Experience, enjoy and feel comfortable! You spend the night in modern rooms (minimum size 25 sqm, air-conditioned) with Lubeck flair, furnished with additional seating accommodations, a desk, free WLAN and 42 inch LED TV as well as coffee and tea utensils and a refillable bottle of water.

This year we arrived on a Sunday to be told that it was rest day and the restaurant was closed.moreover most restaurants in the city were also closed

We had been driving for 7 hours and were tired and hungry

Not acceptable for a hotel to leave it's guests to their own devices to search for food

Good location to the old town. Was only about a 5 minute walk. The hotel itself was nothing spectacular but it was quiet. Our balcony was really sticky when we checked in but rinsed it with water and it was fine. A really good feature is the filtered water station, both still and bubbled, that was available for free. Free onsite parking was very limited but they also have paid underground parking onsite

We loved our stay at Holiday Inn.
Reception was kind and helpful and efficient.
The rooms were clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable.
The breakfast had a lot of different options, which was nice since we were there five days. Everything was delicious.
We paid for parking. It was expensive, but we were here during the festival and we didn’t want to fight for parking-so we thought it was worth it.
Walking distance to the island which was were we did a lot of exploring, so a great location.
I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Conveniently located just outside Lübeck's north city portal, Burgtor. It's just a few minutes walk into the altstadt with churches, squares, passageways, courtyards, and a variety of beautiful gabled buildings. Loved the breakfast at the hotel and the rainwater shower head. There are a limited number of free outdoor parking spaces which I luckily obtained. Lübeck is wonderful.

Coincidentally had stayed here before several years ago but didn’t realise till arrived, and room was great, location perfect, ate in the restaurant which has great and handy and luckily we had prebooked as it was busy.

Ridiculous that you can't take the stairs

This hotel is conveniently located just outside the city walls. Our room was decently sized for a European city. It was nicely decorated and had functional AC.

We chose the place in part for the pool, but it was even more chaotic than usual bc the desk was giving away beach balls. The floor was also subway tile--horribly slippery. Some of the windows created weird privacy issues too.

Breakfast had quite a bit of variety, but good luck getting there or to the pool because of the elevator situation. There were only 2 tiny ones for the whole hotel, and the stairs were for emergencies only. COVID concerns further limit people's willingness to share a tight space with a stranger, so the lines for elevators were horrible. If you have issues with claustrophobia or similar, beware that you might feel trapped on your floor. Maybe this will clear up once they have their remodeling done, but it seems generally silly that the stairs aren't currently open for anyone willing to take them.

Varælset var ok. Vores ekstra seng dog har ingen topmadras. En ung receptionist har hjulpet os med en ekstra dyne på. Det hjalp lidt. Væggene er isoleret men vi kan høre andre fta gangen. Deres aircon blev lige pludseligt varm om natten. Vi kunne mærke det og vi har svedt. Svært at falde i søvn med det varm. Selv om vi justerede det til 12 grader. Vi har bestilt på forhånd en parkeringsplads i kælderen og det var rigtig fin.

Flinkt og meget service minded personale! Da vi vågnede om morgen var der sat en chokolade julemand uden for døren da det var jul ! Og personalet hjalp meget hjælpsomt med at finde en “ekstra” P-Plads i p kælderen.
God og fyldig morgenmadsbuffet, lidt til en hver smag.

Eneste negative var at der var meget meget lydt på værelserne. Vi kunne høre alt som forgik ude på gangen - folk åbnede lukkede døre, gik på gangen og snakkede på gangen. Desværre ærgerligt. Men ellers var opholdet i ordne!

Værelset var superfint og service generelt upåklagelig.
Men morgenmad var så kaotisk. Larm i lokalerne og manglende oprydning ved madstationerne gjorde det ikke til en god oplevelse.
Vi har fuld forståelse hvis det drejer sig om manglende personale, for dem som var der forsøgte så godt de kunne. Min mand forsøgte for eksempel forgæves begge dage at få noget bacon. Det er jo ikke rimeligt at man på en ferie skal stå til morgenmad sharp 6,30 for at få noget.

En natt på vei hjemover fra ferie. Spiste i gamlebyen. Negativt med teppe på gulvet på rommet. Greit for en natt. Lite håndsåpe igjen på badet. Bra med gratis parkering. God frokost.

Meget skuffende oplevelse. Vi havde bestilt en suit, men uden at sige noget havde de nedgraderet os til 2 standardværelser, da de havde dobbelt-booket deres suit. Ingen kommunikation eller undskyldning. Først da vi klagede fik vi en del af vores betaling retur. Værelserne var virkelig ringe og med udsigt til en parkeringplads med en masse rod. Morgenmaden var meget kaostisk med mange mennesker og ikke specielt god mad.

Har i mulighed for at finde en andet hotel i Lübeck, så gør det!

Eneste positive ting jeg kan komme på er hotellets placering, men det opvejer ikke at alt andet er dårligt.

Eneste umiddelbare “problem” for os, var at morgenbuffeten godt kunne have haft en smule typisk tyske produkter på menuen 😀

Vahva suositus

Todella kiva hotelli ja ystävällinen palvelu. Hyvät sängyt, kaikkialla on siistiä ja toimivaa. Lyhyt kävelymatka vanhaan kaupunkiin. Kaiken kaikkiaan erittäin onnistunut kokemus. Ainoa miinus on hinta, joka on korkeahko perhemajoitukselle. Mutta näin on koko alueella, ei vain tässä hotellissa.

Okay stay, but noise was an issue

Recent stay at Holiday Inn was generally okay, but there were some noticeable drawbacks that impacted the experience.

On the positive side, the hotel's location was excellent, being very close to Lübeck's charming Old Town, which made exploring easy. The pool was also a great amenity for the kids, providing a fun way for them to unwind.

However, the most significant issue was the sound insulation. Our specific room was also very close to the lifts, which contributed to the problem. Conversations, footsteps, and other activities from adjacent rooms and the hallway could be heard quite easily. This made it difficult to relax and get a good night's sleep.

While the stay was not terrible, the noise level was a consistent problem. I would recommend this hotel for short stays or for those less sensitive to noise, but it's definitely something to be aware of.

Fint ophold. Morgenmad virkelig god. Der skal betales for parkering, hvis man ønsker at bruge p-kælder. Ellers kan man holde udenfor gratis, hvis der er plads, eller for lidt billigere penge på gaden. Havde skrevet forinden og spurgt om en tremmeseng, hvor jeg fik oplyst, det kostede 40€ pr. nat, så det havde vi ikke lyst til at betale. Da vi så tjekker den digitale gæstebog efter check-in, står der, at det er gratis, hvilket jeg også fik bekræftet i receptionen, og det er jo ærgerligt, når vi så selv har slæbt en rejseseng med. Ok sted at have hund med og der er noget park lige udenfor hotellet.
