We stayed at Hotel Vale Do Navio for 7 nights. We enjoyed our stay however there were a few things we wish we had of known before booking. Firstly the location, the hotel is a 20 minute walk to Poços where there are a few dining options however the walk to/from the town isn’t great. There are areas without sidewalks and the quickest route walking on a main road. Secondly, the only option for dining at the hotel for dinner is a buffet.
As for the positives, the pool area of the hotel was great! The rooms were older but in good condition and there is lots of parking.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was very beautiful, everything was clean, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Parking was available on site but there were also plenty of parking available right outside the hotel. There were a few bars and restaurants nearby and you could also walk to some cliffs with a beautiful view. Definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It's a great location for exploring the northwest corner of San Miguel (with a car) and is walking distance to the start of a good coastal walk. The breakfasts were great with a good variety of hot and cold food. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable.

Hotel Vale do Navio was closed…off season I’m sure so they put us up in Hotel Verde de Mar. Everything was amazing, the staff was wonderful, the property was gorgeous and the food was delicious! The employees were so kind, helpful and so kind. The view of the ocean and the pool was right out side my porch. The spa and heated pool was a super nice treat and I never use public pools…it was so clean, warm and the massaging jets were suck a treat. The only negative was the bed was pretty hard and not comfortable for me at all. I have back issues so I am sure it was definitely on me…and not the property! I would stay here many times over!! BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!

I would totally recommend the hotel to anyone, with one important caveat: the Internet was slow. I found this to be an annoyance, but for some, it may be the deal breaker.

The room was clean and comfortable.
Beach towels were provided for use in and out of the hotel (a local swim area is about 15 minutes by foot).
The breakfast buffet was good (if not very imaginative), but do NOT try to take anything extra, EVEN A GLASS of HOT WATER. Yes, we were stopped, and my wife felt embarrassed. Not even food.
As the island is small, this could be a good base to explore from.
We did not eat dinner in the hotel (they had a buffet for €21), but we found other nice places to eat at close by.
The pool and gym looked nice, but we only used the jacuzzi!

Vale do Navio is nice hotel, it is not very big and done in a good way. I really liked our room, the size is big enough for 2 people, comfortable big double bad and a small balcony with 2 chairs and a small round table with the super sea view.
It has an outside swimming pool where you always an find a place.There is also inside pool, Jacuzzi, and Turkish bath, also sauna, that wasn't working and gym, in which a lot of things were not functioning correctly. WiFi was not very good, but it didn't bother me a lot.
The breakfast was super, a lot of choice, everything is tasty and good quality.
All the stuff n the hotel is nice and friendly, try to help with any request and make your stay as pleasant as possible.
I really enjoyed our stay :)

This is the worst review I have ever given a hotel. When we arrived at check in, the hotel was overbooked and they had to find us a different room for the night. So the next day we had to check out and recheck in and had no room for over 3 hours. My travel partner and I decided to have lunch at the restaurant located in the hotel. When we had finished eating, no staff was to be found. We were left to sit there for over 15 minutes while we watched a cockroach crawl across the ceiling until we decided to go to the front desk to ask for assistance. The hotel lists their amenities as a Turkish spa, which was broken, free parking, which fills up each night leaving you to find your own parking, and free WiFi, which is so bad you have to stand by your room door to get any signal. The walls are paper thin. We could hear people playing in the game room, taking showers, walking around, and slamming doors late into the night. We were unable to get into our hotel room at one point and when we asked reception, they were very rude until they discovered it was because the door battery was dead. The only thing we enjoyed was the friendly neighborhood cat who showed us more attentiveness than the staff. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

The hotel is very well located for visiting the island. The room is spacious and comfortable, only downside, it overlooked a straight road between two walls and it resonated a lot. Prefer a room overlooking the pool.

We enjoyed the fact that this hotel was NOT in the capital- it was in a laid back and authentic neighborhood if you wanted to walk around. There were 2 pools and a weight room, which we used and appreciated. The entire staff, especially Racquel and Claudia, were extremely helpful.

My otherwise-comfortable and relaxed two-night stayed was spoiled by an unnecessarily-rigid, if not also rude, second-day attempt at the \"complimentary\" breakfast service in the hotel's main dining room. Although still \"set-up\" with food & drink on entering, I was apparently 5 minutes past the close-down. Grudgingly seated on a second attempt and then wanting to assist staff who were re-setting for later services by my leaving, I was demanded to discard my bowl of assorted cold fruit slices by an officious \"you can't take food to your room\" order from staff. The area was otherwise empty of any guests and nowhere near the required check-out time for-and-from the hotel. At the time, the dining room, bar, hotel lobby, elevator, and hallways were empty of any other guests. Who were they trying to impress absent any sense of personal service?

Food very good. Nice pools, lovely gardens and friendly staff. Rooms lacked some facilities such as tea/coffee and fridge did not work but did not spool the holiday. Gorgeous views from our second floor balcony. The Azores are the big secret holiday destination.

Great for families with small kids.

Very good hotel for families. My 4yo son loved the heated pool. The location is great for visiting the whole island. For small kids, there is a great natural pool in Capelas, which is 1km from the hotel. For the negative, I found some of the tableware for breakfast was dirty (with batom marks), fortunately this only happened in our last day there. The wifi is also terrible.

It's next to the pool. Turned up on Sunday to find the Vibro plate covered in Water!

We were there 6 nights in April. The main issue we had werethe beds! It was two twins pushed together, so there was a big hard ridge right down the centre of the bed. You could not sleep in this area as it was quite noticeable. Also the mattresses were very uncomfortable! The only other issue was the noice in the day time in our room. I belive the laundry was next to us, so you could hear the washers all day. It was quite in the night though.
Staff were great, rooms were modern and clean, good location. overall 4 stars
We did not eat in the restaurant on site as it was very pricey and only served buffet

Nice staff but management needs to think ...

Our room has many cracks. I was in doubt if it was due to earthquake and the building is safe. They said the cracks are caused by renovation next door and emphasis it is safe.
The steam room has no steam. I do not like its plastic chair anyway.
Receptionists and waitress are in good manner and willing to help.
I guess it is the management who needs to think about the service:-
1. Health Club-closed at 8pm!
2. Breakfast-scramble eggs are weird. Sausages are not healthy kind. ( Except the egg, all is good, including fresh green vegetables, bread and coffee choices )
3. The A/C in room is troublesome. There is a remote but unable to control the temperature of air-condition unit on the wall. We spent quite a few times and it was annoying that you felt so hot in the mid-night. After two nights of nightmare, we called the Reception and found out it is controlled by their Control Room only. They said they can only set one temperature for whole floor. It was appeared on the machine we had got 28C degrees! Luckily, they finally decreased that I believed, I was able to have a better sleep the 3rd night.
4. You cannot bring towel out of the room, including their swimming pool. You need to pay extra!
5. There is also no kettle in room. In England, even B&B provide that.
6. The bedsheet which just act as a under-liner of a public duvet.
7. The area - a noisy car - selling something or whatever, keeps on pressing the horn/speaker.

I chose this hotel for the activities it offered for my ten year old. It was kind of far from things but we rented a car at the hotel for a descent price and was able to travel. the indoor pool was hot and heated, a few things didn't work that well like the jacuzee, sauna , fridge, and ac. Had to ask it to be fixed. The mini golf was raggedy and small, and extra cost. Along with pool table that was extra too. I did not expect that. That was the whole reason I booked it and the pool table sticks were in bad shape, no chalk and the ends were almost bald, so even though we paid for it, it was in very bad condition. My daughter loved the pool though. breakfast was ok. Descent for the pay. should get a car.

La struttura è situata a Capelas, cittadina puccola in posizione centrale dell'isola di São Miguel. A 10 minuti dall'aeroporto in auto. Baricentrica per visitare ogni angolo dell'isola in al massimo 1.30h. Supermercato a prezzi convenienti comodo ma raggiungibile in auto. Pompa di rifornimento 24/7 molto vicina e utile per rifornire l'auto prima drlla consegna al car rental. Colazione buona.

Nel complesso un ottimo soggiorno: hotel moderno a Capelas, non lontano da Ponta Delgada, dotato di grande e comodo parcheggio (anche all’esterno della struttura), di piscina coperta riscaldata e spa inclusa nel prezzo della camera. La mia camera era ampia, comoda e pulita, con acqua minerale, tè e caffè rimpiazzati ogni giorno (molti pari stelle non lo fanno). Gentili ed efficienti i ragazzi alla reception. Unici nei il mancato riempimento dei vassoi per la colazione (bastava arrivare dopo le 9 per non trovare più alcune pietanze) e l’odore sgradevole del detergente nelle scale interne, ma sono dettagli.

Mon séjour à l'Hôtel Vale Do Navio a été tout simplement exceptionnel. Dès mon arrivée, j'ai été chaleureusement accueilli par le personnel, dont la gentillesse et le professionnalisme m'ont immédiatement mis à l'aise. L'ambiance de l'hôtel est apaisante, avec un décor élégant qui allie modernité et charme local.

La chambre dans laquelle j'ai séjourné était spacieuse, impeccablement propre et offrait une vue imprenable sur la nature environnante. Chaque matin, j'ai pu savourer un petit-déjeuner copieux, composé de produits frais et locaux, ce qui a été un véritable régal pour mes papilles.

Les installations de l'hôtel, notamment la piscine et le spa, sont un véritable havre de paix. J'ai particulièrement apprécié les soins relaxants au spa, qui m'ont permis de décompresser après une journée d'exploration des magnifiques paysages environnants.

la salle de bain a un équipement un peu vieillissant mais dans l'ensemble c'est très correct .Le restaurant est très très bon par contre il faut être treeeeeees patient ..... Dommage
j'y reviendrai quand même .

Das Hotel war super, wir hätten ein Zimmer im Erdgeschoss mit kleiner Terrasse nach vorne, leider etwas laut mit den Autos. Die Zimmer waren sauber nur würden in acht Tagen nicht ein mal die Bettwäsche gewechselt... im großen und ganzen waren wir sehr zufrieden.

Fiquei num quarto em frente ao elevador, onde se ouvia perfeitamente as conversas do corredor e a porta do elevador a abrir e a fechar.
Quarto tamanho pequeno/médio.
WC remodelado com secador de cabelo.
Estacionamento gratuito (grande oferta).
Pequeno almoço com muita variedade.
Não experimentei a piscina exterior nem a interior (onde é banho turco e sauna) apesar de estar incluido no preço inicial.

Le personnel au top très gentil et serviable. L hotel aurait besoin d être un peu rénovée. Les draps et les verres de la chambre pas changer en9 nuits 2 jour de Wi-Fi sur 9 pas de chaine télé françaises et pas possible de traduire en français. nous avons pas eu de Sonna (panne) le jacuzzi défectueux pas d éclairage dans l aspace picine les extérieurs aurais besoin d un coup de propreté et d etres entretenu

Bom, mas podia ser melhor tendo em conta o preço

Como foi na passagem de ano, houve festa até as 4h da manhã, o que é normal, mas dos quartos conseguia ouvir-se as pessoas que passavam pelo corredor. A piscina interior apesar de ter água aquecida, não estava limpa. Haviam baratas pequenas na água e uma grande perto dos chuveiros. Já no quarto, o quarto de banho mostrava já algum desgaste e alguns acessórios mais pareciam que estavam prestes a partir. A cama era confortável e o quarto tinha uma boa Smart TV. A rede Wi-Fi também não era muito forte no quarto. O pequeno almoço foi bom, provavelmente dos mais saborosos na ilha, no entanto, havia pouca variedade de queijo. No geral foi uma boa estadia, mas podia ter sido melhor se a piscina interior fosse mais limpa e se a Sauna e Banho turco estivessem disponíveis durante o horário de funcionamento da piscina, em vez de ter que se pedir aos funcionários da recepção.

O atendimento é 5 estrelas, porém as instalações não condizem com 4 estrelas. As casas de banho são ruins, mofadas, e a duche não tem pressão de água.
Na última diária o ar condicionado do quarto não funcionou e avisamos antes de passear. Chegamos de volta ao hotel e o ar não havia sido arranjado. Perguntaram nos se podiam fazer no dia seguinte, mas estávamos com bebe e impossível dormir com janelas abertas ou no abafado. Nos trocaram de quarto, porém a casa de banho era pior ainda.

Es un hotel con muy poco mantenimiento y limpieza

Es un hotel con muy poco mantenimiento y muy poca limpieza en general.
La deficiencia de limpieza y mantenimiento nos impidieron podernos bañar en la piscina interior y en la exterior en agua estaba muy sucia y llena de cosas en el agua.
Al igual que tampoco pudimos utilizar el jacuzzi interior, que parecencia que nunca le hubieran cambiado el agua.

Séjour très satisfaisant, je regrette que nous ayons été logé dans une chambre coté rue, car très bruyant (route passante mais vue mer) heureusement pas de bruit quand la vitre était fermée.
Hôtel bien situé, petit déjeuner varié, propreté de la chambre, commodités agréables (piscine extérieure, intérieure chauffée, sauna, bain turc, salle de gym..). Dommage que pour un 4 étoiles il n'y ai pas de plateau dans la chambre (bouilloire, thé, café).

Pas d'un niveau 4*

chambre correcte avec une bonne literie, wifi sans mot de passe, douchette en plastique, distributeur de produit défectueux dans la baignoire, vue sur route ( avec double vitrage donc bien insonorisée), la climatisation fonctionne en continu sans tenir compte de la température, buffet au diner bof avec pates à la carbonara le 1er soir, carte pas attrayante et chère, petit déjeuner banal et identique pendant 4 jours,pas assez de parking donc obligés de se garer à l'extérieur, pas de vue sur océan du restaurant
