Great place to stay in the center of Ponta Delgaga. Close to a cafe and bakery all within feet of the hotel. Parking is onsite and free! Best perk of the trip. Free breakfast was great as well and the staff were excellent and very accommodating. Have zero complaints. Rooms could have some updates, but everything was spotless.

The hotel is in a short walking distance to the market, shopping centre as well as the centre of town. Staff are very friendly, smiley and they do try their best to help you out.
The hotel definitely needs a bathroom update. It was also very noisy (no insulation as old hotel) at night with the bakery next door baking as well as the hotel located on the main road so traffic noise.
Not a huge breakfast but it will fill you up; the range is just enough. Coffee, even though from the machine, was not great at all.

Great location, great price, the staff was wonderful and the room and property were very clean. The rooms were a good size for an innercity our only complaint was that the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The beds were as hard as laying on a board. In addition please note that there is no AC.

This is a simple and old fashioned hotel, but room was very clean, bed was comfortable (though 2 singles, but that's common in Portugal), shower was fine. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and there was even a decent breakfast. All in all, for the amount you pay you couldn't ask for more.

Charming hotel. The staff can't be more helpful,noting is too much trouble. Great breackfast . room was cleaned every day fresh towels, bed linens every 3days. Lovely sea view from my balcony and roof terrace. I'll certainly will be back and promote this hotel.

decent hotel in the city; no aircon

great location; kind staff allowed us to check in at 7am (we had an early flight arrival). The room does not have air-con, so can be stifling in the summer. We kept the window open at night (with the shutters closed) and the street was quiet ... the property is a bit old, but the floors (tile and laminate) looked new. Basic breakfast. There is a lift after going up a half flight of stairs. Wifi spotty at best, esp once everyone turned on their phones ...

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Called restaurants for reservations and tour companies to help us organize tours.

We arrived early morning before our check in and they gave us a room to nap in till our room was ready and even gave us breakfast.

Only criticism was that the mattress was a bit lumpy. Noisy as on a main street with the cars going by but the back of the building is quieter. Staff did everything to make sure your stay was comfortable.

Breakfast consisted of fruit salad, breads, cheese, ham, yogurt, muffins, orange juice, water, tea and flavoured coffee machine.

Amazing holiday great hotel staff

I had an amazing time. The staff were great handled all my tours and every thing. The rooms were clean and sheets change everyday with clean toilets.

It was great that they speak English too as it helps a lot.

Spent few nights there. Ladies at the desk were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean but a bit old, and you could feel it. The worst was when someone from the staff woke me up at 6:00 AM regarding the emergency alarm. (I was sleeping all night...) Perhaps I did press the button at the first night, but it was 3rd night.... So it wasn't very good experience. Anyway it wasn't bad hotel for the price you're paying.

A very pleasant week

Basic but v. good older-style hotel near centre of town. Clean good-sized room with comfortable twin beds and nice bathroom. Good ample cold buffet breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Wifi (free) worked in the public area on the 1st floor but not in our 3rd floor room; however, rooms on the 3rd floor do get good views over Ponta Delgada. Restaurant tip: O Corisco (Rua Manoel da Ponte 28) has v. good quality international food and its 15 euro tourist menu (3 courses + drink + welcoming bubbly) had us returning night after night.

Very good location and very friendly staff!! The hotel can certainly improve with some new features... but then again, it is clean and comfortable. If you want to stay in your hotel room instead of visiting you might find the décor is not exactly the best :)
I had a full speed free internet with no interruptions and the breakfast was just about \"ok\".

So, considering the price I would certainly return.

While this was a clean room/hotel it was incredible small compared to US standards. No central heat/AC might put people off...no amenities for eating/drinking except for a vending machine and a bar/restaurant that opens at 8pm...the menu consisted of a cheese sandwich...a ham sandwich or a ham and cheese sandwich.
Front desk staff very friendly and helpful.
Do not agree that this is a 3star hotel!

They staff were incredibly nice. The breakfast was okay, typical bread, cheese, meat but they had fruit salad which was very nice. The beds are pretty uncomfortable but we stayed in other hotels and found the same. The rooms are clean although dated and never actually look clean. Great location next to a bakery. Just beware this hotel does not have A/C and it gets HOT on one side of the hotel. Ask for the side with the balconies if you stay here. All in all we actually decided to go back for a second stay since Ponta Delgada is so centrally located. Cant go wrong for the price.

Perfect if you don't spend a lot of time there

We were greeted by a cheery lady at the front desk and had no trouble checking in. Once we got to our room we realized we were given a room with two twins instead of the double we requested. After asking the front desk, we were informed that a double bed would only be available the following day, so we could get it then. Not a huge deal but just know that your bed requests are not guaranteed. The hotel itself is just fine, nothing fancy, not modern, but if you aren't planning on spending a lot of time in the room it shouldn't matter. We didn't have AC which might have been nice, but with a fan and the window open it wasn't too bad (we went in July). Wifi is only in public parts of the hotel and breakfast is okay. Overall it was worth the money, just don't expect a super nice place.

Great value for money

Great location with all you could hope for given the price. Large room with private bathroon and good set of TV channels. Room cleaned daily, plenty of drawers and hangers, bed comfortable with extra pillows/blankets supplied. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of paking in private car park which was suprising given the narrow streets and general problems parking in the surrounding narrow streets. Breakfast food was fine with nice rolls, cheese, cold meats yoghurts etc but the juice was just sweet water and the coffee pretty aweful ... but given the price of the hotel maybe this is being a bit picky. Location of hotel was great with a very short walk to cafes and restaurants and about 5 mins to the harbour. The hotel in amongst narrow one way streets so while parking is fine it may take a few minutes/attempts to work out how to get to it.

Nice centrally located hotel with friendly english speaking staff. I arrived at about 8.00 AM from the airport after my overnight flight to Ponta Delgada and checking in this early was no problem. Breakfast is basic but satisfactory. Spacious rooftop terrace gives a good view of the surroundings and a quiet spot to read or sit in the sun.
Location is about 5 - 10 minute walk to city centre and waterfront along narrow sidewalks! There is a small bakery next door that bakes cakes on site if you need a quick snack.

not what I was expecting

one thing that you must remember when booking a hotel in europe is that the star system is very different from north american standard. I cannot say any thing bad about this hotel because I should have known better.The location is not bad , very easy walk to the center of town and very close to the big mall. The staff was super friendly and very helpfull. The room,furniture,bathroom,and television is all very old not the type of room one from north america would feel very comfortable in.I would not recommend this room to canadians or americans even though it was very clean and the people were great. We ended canceling our reservation and moved to another hotel.besides the hotel issue the holiday was wonderful.This is a very beautiful pristine place that must be seen. If you are a nature lover this is the place.Go before it gets spoiled by the big cruise ships and hordes of tourists.

Siamo tornati qui per la seconda volta,ci siamo trovati bene come allora!! il personale è sempre al top della gentilezza,sempre col sorriso e pronto a darti consigli su tutto. Hanno rinnovato un po l'hotel,guadagnando punti a favore,stanza delle colazioni è piu grande,colazione buona,la signora della reception,visto che siamo tornati,ci ha assegnato una suite al prezzo della stanza normale,meravigliosa!!! Poi un giorno era il compleanno di mia moglie e la signora Teresa della reception se ne è accorta quando abbiamo fatto il check in,e la mattina del compleanno le ha fatto una sorpresa,regalandole una scatolina dorata,con dentro dei cioccolatini,un gesto bellissimo e molto apprezzato!! l'hotel è centrale,pulito,con grande parcheggio privato gratuito, sotto c'è un panificio che apre alle 22 di sera,tutto buonissimo,un profumo di pane e di dolci a tutte le ore.....Hotel assolutamente da consigliare,specialmente per la gentilezza di tutto il personale che ci lavora!!!

Abbiamo alloggiato una sola notte in una suite questo hotel a causa della cancellazione del volo, quindi prenotato al volo.
La struttura si trova vicino al giardino botanico, in una zona abbastanza tranquilla, per quello che ci è sembrato.
La camera era spaziosa e comprendeva un ampio balcone sulla strada principale. L'arredamento un po' spoglio, ma dovendoci solo dormire non ritengo sia fondamentale.
Colazione completa di tutto e personale cortese e simpatico.

hotel tres bien situé à 10 minutes à pied du front de mer.
Parking à l' arriere de l' hotel (tres appreciable car les rues sont à sens unique et tres etroites....)
nous avions une suite avec lit 160, literie tres bonne et un salon avec canapé, fauteuil et télé avec tv5 monde et BFM
le balcon est tres grand mais on ne peux en profiter car il ni a pas de chaises pour s' asseoir. Aspect année 70 mais salle de bain avec douche refaite. Petit dejeuner classique à volonté

Das Hotel liegt direkt an der Straße und ist durch den Verkehrslärm recht laut. Die Ausstattung hat ihre besten Tage schon gesehen und offen verlegte Wasser- und Heizungsrohre oder Badewannen, bei denen sich schon die Beschichtung löst gehören eigentlich heute nicht mehr zu dem was man bei einem Preis von 90 €/Nacht für ein Doppelzimmer erwarten kann. Es gibt zudem kein Restaurant, nur eine \"Bar\" wenn man den Tresen und ein paar Holztische so nennen kann bietet Getränke und ein paar Snacks. Diese allerdings zu vergleichsweise günstigen Preisen.

Il locale, comodo al centro di Ponta Delgada è datato ma le camere sono grandi il bagno è comodo e la pulizia buona.
La colazione è abbastanza varia...la macchinetta per caffè ...Non è il massimo ma ci sono spremute e macedonia fresca.
Formaggio prosciutto cotto e pane fresco di giornata.
Comodissimo il parcheggio e la macchina a noleggio per i clienti è con lo sconto del 20.
Gentile il personale della reception e disponibile per prenotazioni .

Bien pour une ou deux nuits.

Hôtel au caractère très simple, vieillot mais correct. Une entrée difficile cependant, le réceptionniste peu engageant (c'est peu de le dire) n'ayant pas trace dans son registre de notre réservation pourtant bien en règle a un peu mis la pression, conservé nos passeports jusqu'au lendemain... tout en étant fortement désagréable. L'autre réceptionniste le lendemain s'est montrée bien plus charmante et arrangeante.

A really good experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The position is not so far from centre and there is near the hotel a bakery open almost all the night with a very good and cheap sweets and buns. The only thing not so good is, for the people higher than 1.75, the bed: is short and you must sleep with the feet outside...but the climate is not so bad.

Bon qualité prix. Situation centrale

Certaines chambres ont une terrasse d'autres pas. Pas de climatisation c est dommage car nous avons eu chaud les 2 nuits et ni le ventilateur ni le fait d aérer n ont suffit à raffraichir la pièce. Personnel sympa, bon accueil, chambres vieillottes mais propres et proches du centre ville etu parking privé gratuit.

Lidt slidt hotel centrum.
Værelserne er rene og pæne med terrasse til gaden.
Baren er dårlig og der er ikke køleskab på værelset.men prisen taget i betragtning får man god valuta for pengene.
De ansatte er hjælpsomme og venlige.

Nagyon hangos,forgalmas az utca, éjszaka a pékség miatt borzasztó zaj van. Elhelyezkedése viszont nagyon jó. A reggeli mindig ugyanaz.
