Hi Issue, with the parking, it was a at a very distance by a 10 minute walk and then you have to climb to the third floor with stairs with your luggage especially during the rain. It’s not very convenient other than that place was good. Would’ve been nice to have a little continental breakfast, but overall it was clean and convenient to all the restaurants

Great boutique hotel

Staff were very helpful, stayed late to let us in after our flight was delayed, called a taxi for us and gave suggestions for restaurants. They responded right away to our emails. Hotel was well located and very clean with a nice outdoor patio and common living room. We would definitely recommend it and we will stay there again.

Great service with minor annoyances

The hotel appeared clean and was well kept by the housekeeper Carlos. He was very kind and hospitable but didn’t speak English, so communicating our needs was challenging, but he made it fun. We had a couple minor annoyances during our stay that are worth mentioning for other travellers. Our A/C unit had a leak, which led to a large pool of water in our room by morning time. We raised it to the staffs attention and it was fixed the same day. We also encountered bugs/roaches in our room during our stay. Not sure if this is commonplace for hotels in the Centro, but thought it was worth a mention. Parking is available in the free city lot 5 min walk away, but not on site. Otherwise, the place was nice and central. Carlos again was amazingly hospitable, great with our kids and fun to interact with. We felt very safe and well taken care of otherwise.

Room key was bad. Don’t expect welcome gift/drink!

It was a worrisome check in as the site says only people there between 8am-8pm. Glad to know someone was in the house when we arrived. However, we were disappointed when there wasn’t any welcome gift upon arrival and welcome drinks as indicated in my booking. While that isn’t that big a deal as we were just glad that we were able to check in smoothly, the worst thing that happened was after we returned from dinner. By then the housekeeper had already left, and we had a very hard time opening the room door with the provided key. It took us at least 10 mins to turn the key every which way to get it to open. This was a nightmare. The vibe of the place was just weird all around.

Rooms were nice and spacious. Patio area was lovely. However, it said free parking was available but failed to mention it was 5 BLOCKS AWAY. The streets were not ideal for hauling luggage and the free parking filled up fast so we had to pay for parking on several occasions. Free parking was the main deciding factor to stay here so it was quite an inconvenience. Bed was comfortable and they provide orange towels specifically for the hot springs so that was a nice touch.

Good clean option very close to all amenities and the waterfront. Nice water pressure in the shower and very welcoming service. Room could do with a little more \"character\" as walls were quite bare and furnishings a little bare. But other than that a good stay.

My sister and I absolutely loved our stay at Comercial Azores Guest House. The room was spacious with such a well appointed bathroom and the comfiest bed and pillows during our travels in the Azores. The outside patio and deck was such a great spot to relax and enjoy a glass of wine...or two. Staff was friendly and helpful. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!!

No one available when we arrived (although we were early). Carlo, jack of all trades, who cannot speak english but tried very hard to communicate with us, came by to try to assist. He and other staff members were amazing. Restaurant connected to the hotel very noisy and invaded our room. Felt like we had constant company, although quiet after 11:00 p.m. if you don’t need to rest until then. We were also presented with a bill for 87 euros for our stay and there was no one available to dispute it with. We initially paid Expedia for the hotel. The night clerk (only available til 9:30 p.m.)who spoke English explained this bill to my husband but it made no sense so will be contacting Expedia upon our return to Canada.

Great: the property is very clean, in a great location, has spacious rooms and good wifi. The patio is lovely. The rooms were cleaned every day. This was a great place to stay in general.
Not great: the 3 days we were there, there was never a staff member present despite the listing saying someone would be there from 8am to 8pm. This made check in very difficult. There was one member of the cleaning staff who did not speak English, who we managed to get a key from but never actually checked in or out. There was difficulty getting into the property because no one was there to unlock it for us and no way to contact the staff.

Overall I would book it again, just make sure there is no expectation or requirement for staff to help you.

Mixed Experience

Our stay was definitely a mixed experience. When we arrived the person who checked us in spoke no English and tried to charge us even though we had prepaid. There was seldom any staff around to ask questions, and the first night a light in the ceiling of our room flashed on and off and made it very difficult to sleep. The guesthouse had overbooked, and as a result we were told we would be moved for the third night to a house about three kilometers from the city center. When checkout time at the guesthouse arrived we had not been told when we would be transferred. I emailed the manager but got no reply, and we had to ask a nice cleaning lady to set up the transportation. The house was beautiful but quite isolated, and I had to walk to a Burger King about 15 minutes away to get dinner. And I got lost coming back. Although both lodgings were good, we would not stay in the Comercial Azores Guesthouse again.

The Comercial Azores Guest house had loads of apmosphere and was very clean and comfortable and centrally located. Be warned there are stairs involved. I stayed in Rm No 7 which is up three flights. Beautiful view but be prepared to climb the stairs.

Great guest house!

Great guest house! We stayed one night with our 2 kids to catch an early flight out. The rooms are simple but clean and pleasant and the shared outdoor area, plus access to kitchen and living room, are great. Service was welcoming. And the location is amazing - centrally located and just steps from everything. Recommended!

Clean hotel, good location, poor service.

The hotel was well maintained and clean, however they have no one at the reception during the day. Only a room keeper, who doesn’t speak a world of English. There was no one to ask for calling a taxi, information or simply to leave your bags after check-in time for an hour.
They only accept cash, which was not mentioned before and had to ask 3 times for a receipt after I made the payment in cash. They have a lot to improve in terms of customer service.
I would not recommend this hotel to international travellers, it is a good facility only for Portuguese speaking people since you don’t get any of the hotel services so better of to pay cheaper and use different alternatives.

Exceptionally clean ~ wonderfully comfortable single bed (two of them). Room was a top-floor garret with no window other than in the ceiling (ventilated), but with plenty of room, closet space, and complete private bath. Lots of stairs to get there (no elevator/lift). Wi-Fi and TV both excellent including BBC News in English. No on-site food service, but plenty of markets and restaurants in this district only a short distance from the door. Courtyard sitting/garden area off the second floor is pleasant and private. Small sign in front to identify. Don't blink, or you'll miss it. Fairly-easy access to waterfront just a few blocks away.

Cozy hotel in the center

We arrived really early (8:30 am) and check in and left baggage in the reception as the room was not available. I was surprised we had to pay the room in advance. It worked out fine but a little odd.
the room was fine, only one bed was really noisy, like an old spring box. Otherwise very clean and convenient.
Also beware of no elevator to reach the room.

Overall very good. I was hoping for something a bit more social but this place was more like a hotel. For the price and the service it's a very good deal. Had a little trouble checking in initially due to a language barrier but the evening staff was more fluent. Also, bring cash to pay, don't accept card. Room was very clean and location was a block from the centro so I definitely recommend it.

Might be the best guest house I've stayed in, certainly for the price. Only issue, and maybe it was listed on the Hotels.com website and I didn't see it, was that it is not staffed so one must discuss when one is arriving. Ask for Room #7 unless you don't want to walk up 3 stories.

Nice hotel with outdoor garden areas!

Stayed here just one night, to catch our plane back to Lisbon from the Azores.
We walked along the water close to the marinas. There were many good restaurants nearby for dinner and breakfast.

Freezing cold in winter

We stayed several nights in early January. We were the only ones there, and were put in a unit far from the ocean front, which seemed a bit odd, as on ocean view would have been nice. They supplied one small heater for the apartment, and finally brought another - but it was never enough. It was very cold all the time. The power kept going off too, so we had to run down to reset it. The shower heater unit was set to 2 minutes, so we all ended up in freezing cold showers after just getting warm in the shower.

For a winter visit - I would not recommend it if you want a comfortable warm and cozy stay.

Top in Ponta Delgada

Grosses Zimmer, super Bett, dafür die Dusche unendlich klein, aber es ging. Mitten in der Stadt, top gelegen. Wir wurden nett begrüsst, wenn auch etwas Sprachbarriere ohne Portugiesisch bzw. ohne Englisch. Alles sehr unkompliziert.

Hôtel très bien situé, en plein centre et proche du port. Chambre spacieuse, état et propreté irréprochables. Cafétéria pour le petit déjeuner et commerces très proches
L'accès à notre chambre au deuxième étage avec les valises était un peu compliqué avec des escaliers assez raides. Le seul point désagréable est que l'hôtel mentionne un parking gratuit, ce qui laisse supposer qu'il s'agit du parking de l'hôtel. Il n'en est rien, même s'il existe un parking public où nous avons toujours trouvé de la place situé néanmoins un peu loin. Aucune place près de l'hôtel et tout est payant.

Boa relação preço/qualidade sobretudo para famílias, pois têm 4 camas separadas sem exigirem um quarto extra.
Para quem leva malas muito pesadas pode não ser uma boa opção porque não tem elevador
Camas muito confortáveis. Adorei a almofada. É um AL não inclui PA mas o café Central é perto e é uma boa opção
