This is a great conference hotel that is conveniently close to the airport.

Your choices for activities and fast food outside the hotel are very limited, and the area around the hotel is extremely quiet after sunset.

The breakfast buffet is great.

The indoor pool requires a shower cap to use.

The hotel staff was very welcoming and allowed me to check in very early in the morning for the following night because I arrived on an early flight and they had available space.

Came on our honeymoon and did not have the experience you would expect from a 4-star hotel with the ratings we read.

After moving rooms 3 times due to cleanliness issues (ripped towels, chlorine smells, dirt/debris) we were finally moved into a suite (which was nice, but of course after hours of back and fourth we were anxious and unhappy already).

The staff were okay, except for one lady who upgraded us and made a great attempt to make things right. She gave us a bottle of champagne and some snacks to celebrate along with the upgraded room.

Although these upgrades and additions were nice, the stress and anxiety caused on our honeymoon right when we landed caused by this hotel really put a damper on the beginning of our trip.

Breakfast buffet was the best on the island as far as hotels we stayed at. 5-stars to that!

The amenities (pool, hot tub etc.) were by the THE WORST. The pool smelled and we never went in once. Really dirty.

Overall would not come back and would not recommend staying here.

We had a nice big room, but air conditioning was not working properly or at all. because we were on the first floor we were not able to open windows. We called the front desk 2 times. We had options to move but it was too late in the evening and we were tired, and ended up staying in the room.

I had a 15-hour layover in Ponta Delgado, and decided to book this hotel to rest before taking off the same day. I had booked for one day from my arrival at 6 a.m. until the next day. But my check-out had to be at 7 p.m. on the same day I would check in. Basically, I would use the room for a few hours. Upon my arrival, the young guy at the reception was not accommodating at all. He said that the check-in was at 2 p.m., meaning I had to wait almost 6 hours to check in to then check out at 7 p.m. I was disappointed since it seemed to me that he didn't care at all. Then I asked if I could have breakfast that was included. He said that it was their protocol that the guest must sleep over night in order to have the breakfast included. I didn't really understand his reason, since I was leaving the same day anyway without being able to have breakfast the next day. I decided to wait until he was gone. It was a good decision. When the crew changed, there was an incredible lady who helped me to have breakfast, and she managed to check me in much earlier. This is service that you would expect from the hospitality industry. She was great and went beyond what she might have needed to. A big thanks to her. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Nice room and facilities, and great breakfast. The dinner buffet was ok, but only because the options were not necessarily my taste. I could see that other guests were enjoying their meals.
I would definitely consider going back to this place.

We liked everything about it! The outdoor pool was fantastic- so peaceful. Staff was great, especially Erica, who went above and beyond to try and connect me with a tour guide for a special request. Joao was great to talk to while we were waiting for our taxi. We will be back!

After travelling all over Europe this is one of properties I unfortunately have to leave a negative review. Let’s start with the positives - it’s in a good quiet location in Ponta Delgada close to the airport. It had ample free parking in the garage. The pool area is nice and the breakfast is sufficient. Unfortunately that’s where it ends. The staff were pleasant (there were a few that we not) but they failed to resolve an ongoing issue that I reported several (5 ) times during our stay. The showers and water in the room would not stay a consistent temperature. It continuously fluctuated between freezing cold and scalding hot. Every time we reported the issue and then checked back they said it was fixed, but every time it was not. This went on for 4 days. In addition the hotel itself is in need of major updating. Some areas (the breakfast area and pool) were nice, but other areas were very old and run down. Overall I would not recommend this hotel - there are others in the same vicinity that would probably provide a more comfortable stay.

The hotel was conveniently located near shops such as Parque Atlantico Mall and about a 20 minute walk to the shopping boutiques and cafes although a bit far from many restaurants. The popular restaurant O Galego known for their steak is a must-go but it is about a 20 minute car ride. The cool thing is, this hotel is located near the botanical garden with a delicious brunch cafe in the park, which is amazing. The bathroom and floors were not the cleanest and the staff was not friendly at all. At check-in the girl didn't say hi after we did and barely answered our questions. My mom called for room service and they told us no, that we had to go down ourselves, it was only 7pm and all we needed was water. Not a big deal, we did it ourselves. At breakfast the next day, I needed a spoon for my yogurt, so I asked one of the servers and all he did was point to the counter. I thought maybe just a language barrier. My mom on a separate occasion needed a coffee mug because there weren't any on our table, when she asked the server she said \"check your table\" and rolled her eyes. It was wild. The attitude was consistent throughout. We stayed on the 6th floor and let me tell you, those hallways are creepy. The hotel hallways lights turn off behind you when you're walking to and back to your room. I would definitely choose another hotel in Ponta Delgada.

Pros: The hotel was in a great part of town and very accessible by car. The staff was delightful and the morning breakfast was terrific.

Con: The entire property is quite dated and the hallways are stifling hot with a ceiling that looks like it is ready for imminent collapse. It is on the approach to the airport and the overhead planes can be quite loud.

All in all a nice stay but I was expecting a more upscale experience.

Fine but not for the price

The hotel is fine, but not worth the 4-star description and price.
Firstly there are at-cost extras, e.g. €9 per day car parking not included in the overnight price, and €3 swimming cap MANDATORY for using the indoor pool, hot tub, etc.
Our room service each day missed at least one thing, e.g. not replacing dirty towels and just hanging them back up messily, not replenishing the coffee pods, not changing the sheets.
The only hot drink facilities in the room was a coffee pod machine with tiny mugs, so no kettle or tea, biscuits, etc.
Buffet dinners included no vegetarian options.
The outdoor pool (the only one available if you don't have a swimming cap) closed quite early - 2 hours before the indoor facilities. And there was no one around the day I needed pool towels - no towels and no service for around 20 mins.

Azoris Royal Garden offered us exactly what we wanted for our visit to the Azores.
The rooms were a good size and very comfortable. After a long day touring the swimming pool and hot tub were a welcome sight.
We took the Breakfast option and it was excellent. Lots of different foods to chose from and a beautiful dining room.
The location was an easy walk to centre of Ponta Delgada and to many good restaurants.
The check in and check out was very smooth .

Though stayed a short day at this hotel, we absolutely loved it. The hotel was very clean, the food options were great, tasty, and overall really good choice and variety. This hotel is super clean, we never had any issues with the room. We also enjoy the very easy parking. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and I am sure I will be returning to this one again in the future. Good job and thank you Azoris Royal Garden.

Nice but noisy.

For a supposedly high-quality hotel, they do a poor job of keeping noisy guests quiet. On the inner-facing courtyard, which consists of most of the rooms, it was noisy until 3 a.m. every night. Also, the walls are thinner than should be the case in a hotel such as this. I could here everything my neighbors said and did. The pools, steam room and sauna are great. breakfast ia great, bar serves decent food late, general ambiance very good. parking free with premium room or with non-premium only with direct booking, otherwise 9 euros per day. Some noise from airplanes in the morning. If you are noise-sensitive, stay elsewhere.

I had a wonderful stay at Azoris Garden. The service was excellent, the facilities were impeccable, and the overall experience was truly five-star. The only suggestion I have is to ensure that room descriptions are more specific. For couples, it’s important that the room includes a proper double bed to avoid confusion. 1. The pool needs renovation, it’s also too small to accommodate all guests
2. As soon as there are more people at breakfast, the personnel cannot keep up anymore
3. You have to remind the cleaning staff to make up your room, otherwise their service is very random

Beautiful hotel. Perfect location with easy walking access to all. The town with restaurants you can walk to as well. The room was clean and had all the amenities we needed. the room has an air conditioning unit. Very nice balcony overlooking the beautiful garden, just outside the room. The lobby and room is Nicely updated and attractive looking. It was a quiet. It had a nice looking pool, jacuzzi, and gym although we didnt use them. The area is safe and the building is quiet as well. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Plenty parking spots in the attached covered garage, although its and extra 9 Euros a day. The staff was friendly and helpful. We also left our camera in the room by accident and they said they would mail it to us! What great service! We would definitely stay here again.

The Hotel is reasonably well located and with reasonable access to the city center. It takes about 10 minutes walking to the center. The staff was excellent and the rooms clean and modern. As a senior citizen, I would have liked rails (hand bars) for easier access and safety to the shower/bath. In particular, getting out of the shower was awkward. I found no tissues in the bathroom or sleeping area, which is nice to have and seems to me to be customary in most hotels. Finally, I was disappointed with the hotel breakfasts. Eggs were over done and juice was from a box (not fresh). In summary, we had a pleasant stay, the amenities were good, the staff was great. More attention to egress into and out of the shower could use improvement and I’m not sure I would have breakfast there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5-night stay at the Azoris Royal Gardens. The facilities are very nice and breakfast is included, which is a definite plus! The buffet has good variety, including different fruit, salad, choice of meats, eggs, cheese, and many types of bread. Juice, tea and coffee as well.

We enjoyed using the outdoor pool, which was lovely and the perfect temperature. Plenty of lawn chairs and umbrellas with your choice of sun or shade. There’s also a small garden close by and a tennis court.

The hotel is conveniently located to both the airport and the center of town, only a 10 minute drive and 10-15 minute walk, respectively. This was great for us because we didn’t rent a car. My daughter and I felt safe walking back from dinner after dark.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, arranging a taxi to the airport very quickly the morning of our early departure. Note: there is a two euro surcharge for early morning rides to the airport (otherwise 10 euros).

We would definitely recommend the Azoris Royal Gardens and hope to return soon!

The hotel smelled lovely upon arrival—spa-like. The front desk staff were knowledgeable and very pleasant. Although it is a conference center, it didn't feel overwhelming and large. Our room was cozy, although a bit of a hike from the stairs/elevator. We had a nice view, and I enjoyed the balcony. We did not eat at the hotel but had a drink at the bar—Mark-Anthony, the young bartender, was excellent. He was thoughtful and made a great mojito. If you like larger hotels, this is a lovely place to stay - not right in the action but walking distance to everything.

Hotel is located in convenient area with many restaurant options. Parking garage is a valuable asset. Breakfast options always the same and not the best quality. Coffee options also limited, no latte or cappuccino available.
Beds were very comfortable as well as room overall. Staff not as attentive as other hotels we have stayed at. Very limited gluten free options - only bread which needs to be requested and one time never received.
Main bar doesn't open until 5 pm so drinks only available at outdoor pool which is not convenient. Also, no form of entertainment. It was a very busy time with big feast being held and not to have main bar open during the day didn't seem to make any sense.
Although we didn't eat dinner at restaurant, we did hear others complain about the quality.

Overall, a good value and well situated for exploring downtown. With a few adjustments, could be great.

Very well situated and easy to access from airport and elsewhere. The Garden is simply amazing with breathtaking bird parades in the morning and evening. The food is of high quality especially the jams made by the chef. The gym is large and outdoor pool superb. A little bit more cleaning of windows and room bathtub would make it simply exceptional.

Facts during our stay:
- AC made very loud banging sound in our room and we had to move late in the evening to another room
- yoga class which was publicized in the elevator was cancelled without notice. I arranged my plans around this and ended up wasting my morning due to this.
- breakfast spread was quite nice and the dining room staffs were friendly and helpful.

Hotel rooms are worth the money but the hotel itself is a tourist trap, the restaurant is overpriced and the food quality isn’t up to snuff. They make you buy swimming caps to use the pool. 9 euros a day for parking. The bike rentals are very expensive. Even the soap in the shower seemed watered down. The sauna was not hot enough, warm at best, the hot tub literally had cold water coming out of the jets, and the Turkish bath was so stinky.

It's a lovely hotel in a good location. We booked the executive double room and it was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The hotel was very clean and we loved the outdoor pool. Staff were helpful and for the most part very friendly. We got excellent service from Miguel at the bar!
The only complaint would be the 5 EU per person charge for room service. I don't know any other hotel that does this. We only used it a couple of times for breakfast which arrived stone cold and inedible. Nobody wants to eat cold bacon and eggs. I did complain to the front desk but no effort was made to compensate or refund the charges.

Excellent surprise for a property we picked at random for a layover in Sao Miguel/PDL. We fit in a tour and still got to enjoy brunch at Koi. Would highly recommend for longer stays, very reasonable price for suites and rooms while offering high-end amenities and fantastic service!

The staff was friendly and helpful, our bartender Miguel was amazing. The breakfast was also very good. The hotel property was beautiful, and obly a short walk to city center. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!
