When walking from the nice lobby into the room, I was quite shocked - the rooms are very dated and smell old too. However, on inspection, it was clean (apart from the carpet) and I slept very well.

I liked this place! They have a big gym, and the equipment is ok. I worked out every day. It is also a nice area for running, close to the seaside but also the Parque Urbano up the hill. I ate at the breakfast buffet every day. They could use better cereal, like Alpen Muesli, but it was great they had soy milk. Lots of fruits and other options for carnivores. The evening dinner buffet was also super convenient on bad weather days or if you already walked enough. They have a parking garage that is steep to get into and out of, but it is also easy to find parking on the street weekends and mornings/evenings.

Excellent staff, reception very efficient and helpful. Room carpet had stains and woodwork of the cabinets/ fridge was old and chipped. Air conditioning not effective at cooling room.Fridge barely cold. Shower above bath very weak water pressure ,barely enough water came out. Room serviced daily and was good. A nice stay despite the small highlighted issues. I would return to a different room as i understand showers and aircon were better in them. Well done team!

It was a clean hotel, I would recommend it to family and friends, the only thing was their pillows aren’t the best compared to other hotels. The carpet in our room was full of stains. Other than that I can’t complain, staff were nice and especially the gentleman at the bar he went out of his way to serve us coffee after hours.

The hotel is OK. Reception area, bar and restaurant are all nice with a modern feel. The gym is also good with big spaces and lots of equipment. The rooms though are very tired and feel more like an old travel lodge. Air con was ancient and didn’t work properly so it was an awful nights sleep with poor pillows too.

Although this was more than walking distance from city of Ponta Delgada it still was close enough to drive, bus, etc.
There were shopping and dining options in and near the hotel. Staff at front desk and bar were great, and we enjoyed it here for our last day before our flight, and drove to city after check out before we flew home in the afternoon.

Overall nice place. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We got there in the morning and they didn't have any early check in but did hold our luggage so we could go out until the room was ready. We had breakfast included and the food was average. Housekeeping took our extra keycard that we left in the light switch every time they came in. It is an extra cost to use the jacuzzi and sauna area. Not all the jets worked in one of the jacuzzi's. On our 2nd to last night we noticed the a/c was leaking. They promptly came up and did something but the next day it was leaking again. They offered to change our room but we declined since it was our last night. Henrique was absolutely amazing. Always smiling and quick to help with anything you would need or any questions. The staff at the bar and restaurant were not very friendly.
If you are walking the city is down a hill but a quick walk. Just be aware you need to walk up the hill to return. Lots of food options close by. Safe area.

Large room size and great balcony view…

The hotel is not city center. It is a bit of a walk or an inexpensive Uber. The carpets need shampooing cleaning or replacing. The rooms are. A nice size as well as thr bathrooms, lots of space. Deep tubs and good body lotion. The balcony had a nice view of the rolling and if the water. The front staff were very friendly.

Avoid the breakfast, better places to eat in the city and front host was over officious and rude. I decided not to complain because there was a line to see the manager. The hosts English and manners could use some improvement.

Rio was very friendly as was their porter Ruben and a woman with bright eyes and dark hair. The manager on staff was young and had a similar surliness to the breakfast host, the attitude seemed all about money instead hosting and comfort. Hire more people like Rio and Ruben and the woman who’s name I didn’t get.

Over all for a good price k would stay again because of the room sizes. Otherwise find something more city center The pool is small.

This property was in a great location. Everything was walkable but at the same time at a decent distance from the city. Walking distance also to the pineapple plantation which is a must see. Only a 10 minute drive from the airport so very quick and easy to and from there.

Nice hotel. Was able to check in early which was amazing after a red eye flight. Staff was super friendly. Rooftop view was amazing. Rooms were clean and comfortable, albeit a bit small. About a 15 minute walk to the water. Overall, we had a great stay here and would highly recommend it.

PARADISE in PUNTA DELGADA

OMG, this was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. The first impression of this luxury hotel is that it's way beyond your pay grade! It's a large, modern luxury hotel with a great location. When the airport shuttle dropped me off down the street I actually walked past this hotel, assuming that the inexpensive hotel I booked would be smaller and more modest. Wow, did this hotel have all the bells and whistles! The front desk staff was friendly and professional (and all spoke excellent English). The hotel is clean and quiet and has all sorts of amenities. I never checked out the pool, sauna or rooftop deck (it was February, after all). Splurge for the optional continental breakfast--you'll be glad you did. There are many expensive hotels here but booking here was like getting a five star hotel for a much lower price point. There's a gigantic supermarket 2 blocks away, and two of the four public bus lines stop in front of/behind the hotel. It's a quick 20 minute walk down to the harbor (all downhill) if you're so inclined. The front desk was so helpful photocopying the public bus schedule for me (a great way to get the lay of the land). They were also incredibly patient finding me two full-day guided tours. No question about it--I know where I'm staying on my next trip to Punta Delgada!

The hotel has a lot of amenities and is priced very well! But it was the front desk people especially Racquel who great and made me feel very comfortable. Rui was also really good. This will be my regular choice of hotel in Ponta Delgada mostly because of the staff.

We stayed at this property twice within a month snd the location is excellent, rooms are spacious, staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet and dinner are good. If you have forgotten anything there is a huge grocery store within feet from the hotel. To go downtown to the waterfront and nearby restaurants, that too is an easy walk.

A little luxury to start my holiday

Room was clean & comfortable, but shame all rooms seem to look out onto a busy roundabout.
Buffet breakfast was excellent lots of choice & plenty of food being supplied.
Didnt eat at the restaurant at night but the bar food was tasty.
Staff were very helpful and friendly from reception to the bar.
Would highly recommended the tour agency in the lobby, lots of choice at reasonable prices. Plus good guides.
Maybe room service could be a bit later, sometimes they were calling before breakfast!!
The indoor pool is great, didn't use the outdoor one though. There is a huge well equipped gym (better than some public gyms)
Only a 10min walk to the waterfront.
Would highly recommend.

Smelled like perfume in the lobby (it was really strong, like trying to cover up musty smell)
I asked the front desk to make a reservation for dinner but they never ending up doing this even though they said they would call for me
The mini bar had half a coke a cola drank and cap put back on, I called front desk and they didn’t seem to care
The front desk could only take my reservation number when I booked and wasn’t able to look up my reservation by name or any other identification, thank goodness I printed it prior.

NO COFFEE!!!!! The staff were excellent and the room was very clean and comfortable. We had an early flight, and getting coffee was impossible. Most hotel rooms offer a coffee maker in their rooms....not this one.

The area around the hotel is run down, dirty and scary. Not the hotels fault, but a sad fact.

They make you buy a cap to use the pool. And they make you rent the towels. Not good.

Good location if you will be driving to other towns/attractions, as it is right on the highway and not a long walk to the marina. The beds and pillows were not really comfortable and the carpets did not seem really clean. The restaurant was buffet style only and not worth the price and the bar prices were really high. The underground parking was awesome. There are certainly more charming places to stay, but it was fine.

This property isn’t in the best location but you can walk to what you need to get to.
The property is however dirty and I found several bugs in my room. It’s disgusting. The carpet was filthy.
I would NOT recommend staying here.

It was our second time in this property. A coffee maker in the room would be great, because a sample regular coffee is VERY EXPENSIVE, Euro$1.90. We did order a 8 inch Baggett with cheese and butter and ham, $4.50 euros.....That is a \"Rip-off\". Breakfast is NOT word EU$9.00 per person, etc.....To dine would be EU$22.00 ?!?!....It is a lot of money, comparing with restaurants out side, in Ponta Delgada. I better do not say more..

I really love how this property is unique. The shape and structure give it character and a sharp look. What I did not like it that a lot of the carpeting is very outdated and it takes away from the elegance of this beautiful hotel. I am not trying to be mean, I’ve just noticed in my room alone there were many marks and even in the hall ways there were. It may seem like a small detail, but I think guests pick up on these things.

This is a business type of hotel with meeting rooms and full facilities. It just seems a little dreary/dated and lacks any real charm. We wanted a place near the airport for the last night on San Miquel and this was suitable. It's a bit of a walk to restaurants and the waterfront. I wouldn't want to stay here for more than a night or two. There are better place for similar money.

We were underwhelmed. Faded, shabby, hotel with stained carpets and no porters for support with luggage. Desk staff courteous and helpful when asked. Rooms kept clean and tidy despite worn carpets and curtains. Dining expensive and not value for money. Front windows to the hotel huge and dramatic but dirty. So sad to see. They could do better. Plenty, though tight, underground parking a definite plus and when the workmen have finished on the roof with the new decking around the pool this will probably be the best feature in the hotel (we did not try the gym).
Overall we enjoyed our stay in the Azores touring around the island. Oh yes, no room service.....

Great facilities. Massive gym, spa, pool, extremely clean and inviting. This was an overnight stop prior to flying out of Ponta Delgada the next day. Location is not in historic old town, but close enough. 30 min walk to Parque Atlantico and a 20 min walk to the Marina and boardwalk towards old town. Lots of little bakeries and grocery stores nearby, all well priced.

Hotel was very clean and staff at front desk and bar were amazing. Rooms a bit dated, carpets could be updated, but overall will stay again.

Hotel VIP were amazing, as soon as we arrived and checked in we were greeted by a lovely clean room with all essentials provided. The rooms were cleaned daily and toiletries updated accordingly, the staff were very accommodating of our extra requests such as hot water for making tea/ extra plates etc. Unfortunately there were no tea making facilities but they were more than happy to provide us with hot water and mugs for our own tea :) Very friendly staff and having a 24 hr reception was very useful! The location is very good as a few bus stops are nearby and it's just 50 cents into town on the autobus :) Thank you so much to all the staff for ensuring we had a wonderful stay!

My boyfriend and I had a 24 hour layover, we chose this hotel as our stay. The staff was not too friendly. Made us feel like an inconvenience. Good food in the hotel, however they are not to familiar with the area. Staff seemed confused when we asked for a currency exchange or for a breakfast place...
