Shuttle from marina and to airport was well organized and handy. Luggage storage available. Great view of reef and short walk to beach and golf buggy pickup. Hotel pool was large good. Some aspects of room and loungers etc slightly dated. Small issues like no socket on one side of bed for charging. Overall great and would recommend.

Wonderful hotel, lovely view of the ocean, greeted by cockatoos on the balcony, staff all friendly, great entertainment in the evening in the bar. Only thing I'd say is be careful what you charge to your room, better to pay as you go as we had someone else's meal on our room when we checked out! Did not have time to check the rest as had to get the transfer, but I doubt all charges we had were accurate after that.

Great location on the island. Convenient shuttle stop right out front. Friendly staff; good food and cocktails by the lovely pool. Ping pong tables and air hockey in the nearby community room, but equipment wasn't available if the desk wasn't staffed (which it often wasn't.) Pool table in the bar, though the sticks were warped. And not the fault of the resort, but the wild cockatoos on the island scream day and night - ear plugs will help you sleep.

Island’s workforce is mainly 20-somethings. Service was hit/miss, and they don’t know that details matter.
It’s Reef hotel was clean(ish), checkin wasn’t quite smooth, some food/bev were happy, others weren’t approachable.
Great location, food was fine, ample to do.

Our room had a cockroach the first night. (We travel a lot and understand this is possible in the tropics) however I called housekeeping and the front desk everyday to get the room fogged or sprayed. They promised each day but were non responsive. Never showed up. Water was turned off 11-3 in our room one day. We got the paper notification under our door saying it would happen ( received the day after the fact) Asked to have rooms cleaned anytime before 1 each day. The only day they were there was checkout day. There was same garbage in the hall for the first 3 days. Property is dated. The guest services were polite and good with the bags at check in and out and the beds were well made each day.
People were pleasant however, it seemed like lip service so we just stopped asking. I even sent an email. Hotel view is spectacular. Beach is lovely. With the exception of the bell boys the service was underwhelming

Our view was spectacular but the room did not meet expectations unfortunately. There was a smell of mold and few stains on the bathtub and bird poop on the wall near the bed. Despite this, the food was great and staff were lovely, we went out majority of the time and still enjoyed our stay on the island. Rooms may need an upgrade for the price you pay per night

The room was dirty, I actually had to get a mop and clean the floor because it was full of dirt and sand. I was here last year and actually got the cleaners to clean the floor full of sand. The room was great but it seems that it hasn't been cleaned for a while. all that the cleaners do is change the bed sheets and nothing else...

I stayed with friends and we loved the view from the room and how spacious it was. The only area for improvement would be that the beds had a slight damp smell.

On the other hand, the buffet breakfast definitely deserves all the credit, it was amazing, with fresh options and something for everyone. It was our favorite part of the stay.

Overall, I’m very happy with our room. The bedroom and bathroom are both very spacious. There was a slight damp smell when we first walked in, but no other unpleasant odours at all.

The only issue was that we called housekeeping before heading out and no one answered. We then asked reception to pass on the message that we needed housekeeping, but when we came back, no one had attended the room.

Other than that, we’re very happy with our stay. The Asian staff at reception were especially friendly and more than willing to have a chat with my wife, which we really appreciated.

Reef View Hotel + Wotif.com We booked RVH from Feb 8 to Feb 12. If it was possible, we would like to check out IMMEDIATELY ( Feb 10 ). When we walked into the room there was water leaking from the refrigerator and had seeped all over the fully carpeted room. Over the last 2 days the smell of the soaked carpet become unbearable.
Today we spoke to Sam at the Guest Services, who promised to change our room. We returned after a tiring afternoon to check at the reception if anything had been done. A non English speaking person ( possibly Japanese ) failed to understand a word, while the other 2 locals preferred to ignore us. Now we're back in the room and after reaching out on the phone which is normally not answered before 10 minutes or not at a5. Out of the 4 odd in house restaurants, hospitality, service...and other basic services are non-existent, not to mention inedible food. We're paying almost $ 400 ++ per night, breakfast is an
additional $ 50 per person. Our return flight to Brisbane isn't till the 12th.
It seems most of the restaurants and the hotels are under staffed, and the majority of them are non English speaking residents. A lowly staff I spoke to casually in the lobby, said that this place has managers managing managers but very few people who do the actual work. I'm 75 year old and have been around the world several times and am close to have been to almost 100 countries.

The view was the best thing a long with the cockatoos. The food was under average and over priced. On Sunday $118 for 2 people to eat brekky and they dare to serve CANOLA spread. What is this? Poison that boomers eat. Seriously, the pastries were old and I think again made for boomers that have lost all of their taste buds. The bread choices is what...wonder white...and multi grain...again this isn't even real food. Cage eggs...okay they had avocado but it wasn't seasoned properly. Anything baked was inedible.

The room itself..basic and feels dated. The design of the bathroom is classic early 2000s or even late 90s. Staff were friendly which is a plus but other than that I wouldn't really rate it, other than it was clean. I slept well despite the slamming doors from other rooms is quite loud.

4 starts is mainly for the view, cleanliness and staff friendliness. Otherwise, next time I'll try somewhere else.

While the location is beautiful, the hotel itself shows significant signs of age, particularly in the bathrooms which are outdated and in need of renovation.
The housekeeping service was inconsisten, they made the bed daily but didn't vacuum the floors, leaving the room feeling less than fresh throughout our stay.I was surprised to find that bottled water isn't complimentary and must be purchased separately, which felt like an unnecessary extra cost for a hotel at this price point.
The dining options on the island are limited, with only a handful of restaurants available. Most offer standard fare that's adequate but unremarkable. If you're a food enthusiast or enjoy exploring diverse culinary experiences, this destination may not meet your expectations.

Callum (reception) was the only saving grace - other than this I can’t say very much good. Overpriced - definitely not 4-5 star! I stayed at the hotel rather than an apartment for services of which there were none. All I experienced staff that were never there. Told I could use the phone locally for free and then they billed over $100! I had to set up my own excursions. Hard to get housekeeping and didn’t really clean. The room smelled of mildew. Way overpriced for what I didn’t get. I could’ve enjoyed he beach club just the same for much less elsewhere and amenities at the actual hotel were next to nothing. Tried to charge $250 for Christmas dinner which was anything but gourmet! They need to do better or will suffer many more 1 star reviews. Beware to those thinking of booking!!!!

Staff were friendly but the room is quite dated and rundown. Bathroom was huge but needed deep cleaning. The shower glass panels are dirty, the shampoo/body wash pumps are not working properly. Definitely needs a refresh. Variety at the buffet breakfast was okay, but quality not so great. Soup was cold and sausages were hard as rocks. Seafood / salmon had bad fishy taste - not fresh at all. I felt bad wasting food but some were literally inedible and I gave feedback to one of the wait staff when he was collecting half eaten plates from our table.

The check in and out was super easy. The air port transfers were great!
Our room was nice, newly renovated.
However.
If we used up amenities they were never replaced. We had to ask for top ups on things like toilet paper. Which isn’t nice when you are away. Not something you want to think about.

Overall, a nice stay. Accomodation is close to everything
We were able to walk with ease to most places but if that’s not an option there were many useful transportation services around.

I had cleanliness issues with our room and I had to ask for our sheets to be changed on our 5th night when I could see they had not been changed in line with their policy (3 days).

Also, on the first day, I wiped the bathroom floor when we spilled some water and the white cloth I used came up black. I informed reception and said I did not believe the floor was clean. On our second and third days I did different parts of the floor with the same result. I took the face cloth down to reception to show them.

I also left a coffee stain on the side of the sink and that was still there after three days too!

The hotel pool is large and nice but there are only a few sunbeds and any that aren’t under umbrellas get covered in cockatoo poo.

On the positive side, the rooms are large, and if you go for a coral sea view you are on a higher floor and the views are great. You are also only a short walk over the hill to the marina.
