Absolutely amazing hotel. Wish we could have stayed longer. We had a G7 suite which was huge for the 5 of us. Large supply of amenities and the view was to die for. Access to the club lounge was a lovely bonus where we had complimentary food and drink until 10pm. The wharf behind the hotel took us straight to Miyajima which was a wonderful experience. The local bus runs from outside the hotel very regularly to transport you to and from the city. Loved everything about our stay. Highly recommended.

A wonderful hotel, welcoming, surrounded by great views and a lovely circular walk, small beaches and woods. The ferry went from the door, as did the free shuttle bus, all run like clockwork. Large room with a glass wall looking onto the bay and sofa. Nice cafe and lots of other facilities we didnt use.

We were slightly apprehensive of the distance of the hotel from the station and city centre however, we were so pleased to have booked this hotel. This hotel is at a beautiful location with wonderful seaside walks nearby. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite room which gave us ample space, a bath with a view and a beautiful room. The onsen was clean and well organised. The breakfast buffet provided multiple options of western and Japanese food. The staff were friendly and courteous. The boat to miyajima was extremely convenient as well as the bus from and to the station. This stay was by far one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.

The hotel offers a fantastic view on the bay. There are 3 restaurants, but none of them were appealing to us. There was nothing at walking distance. The breakfast was good, but we couldn't find good coffee. We were pleased with the staff, but many of them seem to be very stressed, and under a lot of pressure. I witnessed staff being reprimanded twice. The staff all spoke good English, and the hotel was clean, but it could use a bit of a refresh.

From check in to check out the staff was pleasant, welcoming, and hospitable. Our room was super spacious with lots of room to move around in addition to a large shower, separate tub, with an additional area with sink mirror and stool. Beds were comfortable, however, my twin bed was softer and lower in the middle resulting in me always ending up in the middle. Top floors have restaurants with excellent views and slightly inflated prices for drinks. There is a sea wall surrounding most of the property that allows for a safe and tranquil stroll along the bay. The free shuttle to and from Hiroshima Station is beneficial and convenient as the hotel is located at the end of a small peninsula which means you need to walk at least 20 mins to get to the edge if the city, main streets, or trains.
We really enjoyed our two night stay with the room size being the biggest plus right along with the staff and their welcoming, helpful pleasant presence.

Fancy looking hotel and good value, but the onsite dining is very expensive. Breakfast is good if you include in room rate. Best to eat in town and then get bus to hotel. City bus is every 20-30 mins to hotel (21-2 line) which is easy for station , shops etc. last one is about 2030 so take care of that.
Beach and seaside looks good but very polluted with polystyrene from fishing floats so not nice for swimming.

Family trip in Hiroshima and Miyajima

Very nice hotel, slightly far away from the city Center, but with a beautiful quiet location and amazing vistas especially at sunset. It’s rather pricey and dinning nearby is limited to hotel restaurants only, which were quite expensive. Nevertheless, we had a great 2-nights stay, in a spacious family room with great sea view, large bathroom with bathtub looking at the bay, very clean, comfortable beds, the room furniture was a little outdated. The hotel has direct boats to Miyajima which was very convenient for our planned 1-day trip to the island.

They charge you extra for the onsen and the pool (2000/3000 yen) and the pool is not open any more at the beginning of September.

We chose this hotel for what appeared to be good value for money with nice views out over the sea and the convenient port for going straight to Miyajima. We would NOT recommend it though.
Although convenient for the port, the hotel is a long bus ride from the city centre (with no options to return in the evening after 9pm) and there are really no other restaurants in the close vicinity hence the hotel can charge high prices for its own restaurants. We did make use of the fast boat to Miyajima but note that the one-way trip is 2300 yen - worth it for a nice, scenic boat ride but if you take the train from Hiroshima to Miyjimaguchi and then the short ferry across from there, it is substantially cheaper (though a longer journey).
Most disappointing was our room - tiny for three people with hardly room to move, nevermind store 3 cases, and with a serious need for renovation. The bathroom smelled really badly and was a simple bathtub with shower behind a nylon shower curtain. Not 4 star hotel quality. The water didn’t drain properly either. On the positive side, the views out over the water are fantastic.
Breakfast options were limited for non-Japanese food and it was rather busy on both mornings we were there.
We would recommend staying in the city centre.

Whilst first impressions standing in the entrance lobby were positive, sadly the Grand Prince Hotel is clearly still living on the past glory of having once hosted the G7 summit. Something it still promotes everywhere you look!

Our two rooms were tiny, sparcely decorated, dirty and had very limited storage space. The \"sea view\" we'd been promised (and paid a supplement for) mainly overlooked the industrial harbour.

Adding to the frustration, every facility carries a significant extra charge: the mediocre swimming pool, the gym, the spa, even the ping-pong table! And with no reduced price for children over the age of 11.

The front desk staff were sympathetic to our disappointment and kindly offered to remove the sea view charge. However it's clear that this hotel has seen better days and needs a serious overhaul of its decor and charging policies!

The Grand Prince is a gem! What luxury at affordable prices! My only complaint is about the hotel shuttle to and from the train station. The times are not convenient for travelers arriving in the early afternoon (1 pm) or leaving in the early morning (7 am). The shuttle bus doesn't start it's schedule until 9:30 am or so and then stops before starting again in the evening. The hotel is so far out and there's no convenience store around for quick breakfasts or late dinners. The restaurant/bakery onsite also has hours not helpful for early or late arrivals/departures.

I love the Y2K business aesthetic in the rooms, nice view over the water. There is little to do immediately around the hotel so the free bus shuttle to Hiroshima station is very useful. The fast boat to Miyajima was also quite convenient. I would skip the buffet dinner, it was quite expensive with a great quantity but not necessarily quality of options. there were only a few people dining but somehow still stressed staff with headsets.

Absolutely beautiful waterfront property. The ferry to Miyajima picks you from the back of the hotel.
Unfortunately, the pool was closed during the month of June, which was regrettable as the weather was quite hot.
The onsen is beautiful. The gym is clean and spacious with a sample of equipment .
The breakfast buffet provided a large assortement of options. We opted for an upgrade to the executive level which offered us access to a lovely lounge with water front views available throughout different periods of the day. Service was lovely.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima. The shuttle to and from the train station to the hotel was so convenient. The hotel is in a wonderful location and we got to appreciate the beauty of the area and the islands. Service was top notch and the food and beverages were just as good. We enjoyed the breakfast and what a variety! We even utilized the luggage service to forward our luggages to our next destination. Thank you for making our Hiroshima stay a very pleasant one.

The hotel was great! I paid for an upgrade for the Executive Lounge and that was the least to be desired. As an avid traveler the hotels offers a poor presentation of the Executive Lounge compared to other hotels in Asia. Staff in the lounge were adequate and was not as friendly. They were more attentive to work on the computer than they were to ensure that food was replenished and also to engage with guests, thanking them for their stay, etc. I arrived at 730pm to the lounge as I know they closed at 9pm. After a long day of touring I wanted to enjoy some snacks in the lounge. This did not happen! It took another 30 minutes before it was repleniished and not completely. Very poor for an $85 a night upgrade. If you ever go there do not do the upgrade....NOT WORTH IT!

My husband booked our first night here directly through their website and got the Setouchi package - the room was VERY nice and updated.
We then left for one night to stay on a nearby island and then came back for 2 more nights, where I booked a standard 3 bed room on Expedia. The standard room compared to the Setouchi was very MEH. It was NOT updated and had a stale cigarette smell. There looked to be mold on the bathroom ceiling, some carpet was coming up and the beds were like sleeping on boards, my back was so sore the next two mornings whereas the Setouchi room had a comfortable King bed.
The property is beautiful, there is an oceanfront paved path from the hotel that goes along the coast, this was a beautiful walk at sunset. The pier on the property was very convenient for catching the boat to Miyajima Island.
We ate at the Okonomiyaki restaurant which was very good and had drinks at the Sky Lounge where the drinks were weak and not filled up like we're used to.
The staff were friendly, and they let us keep the majority of our luggage overnight while we did the one-night island trip.

I needed to come back from my ten days vacation to Tokyo to take my plane. I canceled that reservation to stay here again because we liked it so much.

Is an old building. Clean but very used furniture and walls in the room. The food in the morning is good but I found it better in Kyoto. Also I recommend to get some food from a store for dinner in the room, as the restaurants are very expensive and not that great.
The most amazing points of this hotel is the location with a beautiful sea front walk trail, amazing healing mineral onsen bath and property ferry boat directly to Miyajimacho Island must see.

I had high hopes for this property as they made a big fuss that the G7 was held there a few years ago. It is on a small island south of town, which takes 25 minutes or so to get to from the train station or locations downtown--get ready for some cab rides. The area around the property was beautiful, and it's next to a national park that you can wander in. It also has its own ferry to Miyajima, which was a great resource. Now for the bad. The rooms were SUCH a let down. They were super small and cramped. Everything was how they left it from the 1980s or earlier.
The bathroom was like an airplane bathroom, complete with a plastic door. We walked in, and there was a chunk of hair on the shower wall, and the drains were clogged. The bidet was also not working. We called down to have the drain and bidet fixed, and they said they came while we were out, but nothing appeared fixed when we used it. The towels smelled like fish, so perhaps they were washed with tablecloths? The staff were very nice, but rather clueless. The food was disappointing as well. While the breakfast buffet is at the top of the building and the views are gorgeous, the food was a little gross. There was no real room service either. It was all prefix meals that were a fortune and very few options. Out of the 4 locations we visited in Japan, this was by far the worst hotel experience. Do not recommend.

We stayed 2 nights and this place was huge and reminded us of a Vegas hotel lobby with a giant water feature that was lit up. Check in was easy and she answered all our questions. They have a travel centre behind the front desk which we used to book a speed boat to Miyajima island. Highly recommend doing this! Thy have inspire convenience and gift shop and a bridal salon if you’d like to plan a wedding onsite.

Beds were comfy and the showers had good pressure. We ate at one of restaurants and we had coffee on the upper floors to catch the view. Our room was a sea view room which really was lovely. I even walked to the back of the hotel to look at seashells that washed up and saw other kids doing the same. I asp shopped at the clothing stores as part of the complex as they have some unique items.

Stay here- you won’t be disappointed.

We had a fantastic stay at the Grand Prince Hiroshima! From the moment we arrived, the shuttle service made everything seamless and convenient. Check-in was quick and easy, and we were immediately impressed by how clean and beautiful the hotel was.

Our room offered lovely views of the water—truly a peaceful and scenic escape. One of the biggest highlights was the phenomenal ferry service directly from the hotel to nearby islands, including Miyajima. It made exploring the area incredibly easy and memorable.

The top floor was the cherry on top—breakfast in the morning was delicious and relaxing, and in the evening we enjoyed drinks while taking in the panoramic views. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and scenic stay in Hiroshima!

Lovely hotel. Lots of dining options. Beautiful views. Relaxing thermal bath and relaxation room. The proximity to the ferry to Miyajima Island is extremely convenient .

Never been to a hotel where I had to pay to use the gym, ¥2100 for no rack and free weights up to 20kg.
Breakfast was very limited and we were there around 9am, closed at 10:30.
Lots of other little issues that could’ve been better. Felt like a lesser hotel disguised as a fancy place. Stay somewhere closer to the heart of Hiroshima.

Dated rooms with an amazing view

The view of the Hotel is amazing. However the rooms are very outdated (straight out of the 90s). They also had the signs from a G7 convention that happened in 2023, we are now in 2025...

Staff is very friendly.

This was SUCH an incredible hotel. I’d easily stay here again. My only issue with it was that there were too many hidden fees that are listed as included. For example you have to pay $21 each to use the onsen PER DAY. You also have to pay a separate $21 if you want to use the gym.. PER DAY! I wish these costs were included. The free shuttle was great and never busy, and the local bus also stopped at the hotel frequently so it’s very easy to get around. It’s a bonus that you can catch the ferry right from the resort.

Excellent and Classy

Exceptional hotel and staff.

The hotel was chosen to host a G7 Summit in 2023 and I get why now. Very classy feeling here which is such a pleasure after a long day of exploring. Good gym with new equipment here but just know there is a charge for it, about $14 USD at time of writing.

The free shuttle between Hiroshima Station was helpful. And getting into town to visit museums and downtown is a breeze since the hotel is the last stop of a common bus line in Hiroshima.

Also, at one point I had lost my headphones case on a bus ride, and an amazing staff member called the bus drivers until one of them eventually found my case and next thing I knew it was back in my possession.

I hope to stay here again one day.

Fantastic hotel and service. You will immediately feel the warmth of this place the moment you first step onto the property and greeted by the front concierge woman. The women that checked us in was absolutely perfect for this position. She was caring, spoke very good english, and even upgraded our room to a world class ocean view room. I would only stay at this hotel if i'm in Hiroshima again.

The family room corner with high speed boat package is an excellent package for a bit of luxury. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast on the 23rd floor which had panoramic views of the islands surrounding Hiroshima and the Grand Prince Hotel.

The only small inconvenience we experienced is that because of its location away from downtown, after 830pm,you will need to call for a taxi to return to the resort.

The complimentary bus stops at 1920 (720pm),the local bus 21-2 stops running from 2030 (830pm) from Hondori. Plan accordingly to manage your expectations.

This was our best experience in Japan yet as first timer tourists. Will absolutely stay again when we are visiting Hiroshima!
