The location is absolutely wonderful, you’re close to pretty much everything you would need or want as a tourist. However, there were some downsides. There were people coming and going at all hours and the walls are incredibly thin so we could hear every movement, every night I was woken by someone yelling, slamming doors, or clunking away at something, we could also hear snoring from a few rooms away, and we had the unfortunate location of being right next to the floors ventilation system which was loud and running the whole time. So definitely wouldn’t recommend for light sleepers. But then again maybe we were just unlucky! The wifi was abysmal, we couldn’t load a Google search or our banking app, so had to rely on our data plans. In saying this, the facilities were great, mostly clean and tidy (excluding some of the showers which seemed to be a bit mouldy) with a nice social common area and nice friendly staff.

We stayed in a private room and its just exactly that.
No towles provided, however there was a dirty towl left handing on a wall hook when we arrived in the room...
There were toilets and sinks on our floor however you need to get into the lift and go to a different floor for the showers.
The bed was comfy however you can hear everything and people had little respect of that we found.
Maybe we were nieve but we expected more guest house and less hostel.

Affordable stay option within the quieter part of Hiroshima with clean facilities, friendly staff and convenient location for exploring the local area. Minutes walk to Hiroshima Hondori Shopping Street, nearby convenience stores (7-Eleven, Lawson and Family Mart) and reasonable travel time from Hiroshima Station (~15 mins on Hiroden Streetcar Tram to Fukuromachi Station and a few mins walk).

Things to be aware of:
- Limited space within dorm for re-organising luggage contents, I'd recommend having essentials in a backpack for easy access and minimise disturbance to other guests.
- Lobby area can get quite warm during the day if you arrive too early as reception won't be available until 4pm, per check-in information once booked.

I could not get a response from this place - Expedia tried for 2 days and reported and still no refund or an apology- did not use the room - Bedbugs can get you sick and will stay with you, and you will bring them wherever you go... avoid it.

An excellent little hostel. Don't let the lack of an entrance put you off - this hostel has a really welcoming open shared Lounge and kitchen area with all the necessary appliances. Each bed comes with a small locker, enough for your valuable possessions as opposed to large bags or suitcases.

You've got to compare it to a pod hotel as the beds are obviously dorms but very clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and happy to help out.

When I was there they were even offering free bed's for anyone who helped out with cleaning and general work jobs. Gutted to have seen this when I had booked my next spot otherwise I would have liked to stay longer.

Good location to get to Peace Park. Also easy to get to from Hiroshima station by bus. Just short walk from bus stop. Rooms are a bit stuffy. Only a small window in the corner. Plenty of showers. The common areas could be a bit cleaner.
We had booked 2 nights and couldn't get there the first night because of the big typhoon and all trains were cancelled. We called in the morning to advise the guesthouse but still had to pay the full amount for the first night. I understand and at the same time it would have been a nice gesture if they gave us a small discount for the night we couldn't get there.
When we checked in for the 2nd night it was around 1pm and we were told we could only check in in a few hours. I had to insist that because we paid for a first night and didn't use the room, we should be able to check in right away.

The location is very Central to head nightlife and attractions. I loved the common area, and reception was great. Lots of shower rooms and they're pretty spacious. While I had read reviews complaining about the noise, I was in a private room and had no issues. Overall great stay.

Extremely uncomfortable beds, small rooms with nothing in them. You pay for towels even though they say it's included. Extra amenities also cost extra. The lobby area and kitchen isn't well kept, kitchen is also dirty. Bathrooms are disgusting and smell horrible. Please don't waste your time here, it's not worth the money, the rooms are overpriced.

Ok... so the location was excellent. Pretty clean and good common areas. If I had to point out the bad things... it would be, HARD PILLOW, unconfy sleeping and they didnt have other kind. And also, small bed. My height is less than one hundred seventy cms tall and I could touch the edge of the bed with my feet. So keep that in mind if booking here. Despite that, everything was pretty good.

A lovely stay at the Santiago Guesthosue

The hostel is in a good location. Relatively close to the JR bus stops and the tram stops. In the entertainment area so lots of shopping and food around. The hostel was relatively easy to locate, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room, bathroom and showers were very nice and clean. We had a private twin room which was nice. The beds were large but the classic futon style so quite hard and so were the pillows. Overall a nice stay.

This hotel is near from a big street and two convenience stores. There were more than 10 shower rooms. Bed rooms and shower rooms were Very Clean. At a reception floor, you can use a shared kitchen and, even a rice cooker. ( rice are free) There are many snacks and Japanese unique springs, that said “help your self.” That’s was a Wonderful stay although it is Cheap.

Would stay for again for a few nights.

Walking distance to several attractions (Hiroshima Castle, Peace Museum, Peace Park, etc.) and to the tram stops. Found many good resaturants very close. My room was on the same floor as front desk, lounge area and kitchen - two floors away from the showers. There were 12+ beds in the room; no locker available for my backpack. The bed was cozy and comfortable, espeically with the black out curtain. The shower room I was used was clean, except the drain was full of hair. The two womens' bathrooms near my room had several little bugs flying around, but the bathroom was pretty clean with a comfortable toilet.
Staff is nice and informative. I was given a map and showed the best routes for the places I wanted to visit. Check out was quick. Check-in took a bit long, because there was a line of 3 people ahead of me when I walked in. I arrived right at 4p. There was some confusion about the meaning of \"free toiletries\". However, the staff member gave me a towel without charging me once I showed him the details that I agreed to when reserving. It doesn't really make sense for people to take their shoes off upon entering the floors when you have to put shoes on to use the same elevator that leads to the main entrance of the bldg.

Experience is as good as the people you're with

The hostel has an excellent location in the city, just a 4-5 minute walk from Hondori, and 8-10 minutes from the Memorial Peace Park. There are lots of interesting restaurants, and even a grocery store nearby. The place is a little hard to spot though, especially since it's actually part of a building (3rd, 4th, and 6th floor of a building called ESPINO). The staff are very friendly, and the amenities are very well maintained. We stayed in a mixed dorm, and the soundproofing was actually surprisingly good. Showers and common area were also very neat. The only thing I was annoyed at was the behavior of fellow dormers. You need to wear slippers within the premises (you take of your shoes at the landing), and there are only so many slippers to go around, so it isn't uncommon for you to walk around the place barefoot. That said, the slippers I kept at the foot of my bed CONSTANTLY DISAPPEARED by some unscrupulous co-dormer who probably assumed it's okay to use whatever is at hand. The door of the 3rd floor is also secured with a digital lock, but the door doesn't close unless you actually pull it. Most people didn't bother to close it properly, so it's unsettling to see such hole in the security of the place. Otherwise, the experience was good, and most of my issues are likely out of paranoia. YMMV.

Stayed a couple of nights here whilst in Hiroshima. The hostel is modern and clean and staff helpful.

If you have expensive gear with you, just bear in mind there's no locks on doors to the rooms, but there are lockers (on a first come first serve basis). The bed was hard also, but that might have been just mine. If in Hiroshima again, I'd probably stay again just for ease of location.

We booked a bunk bed in a two bed room, as stated and shown in picture, but it was actually a bunk bed in a dorm with over 24 beds, and just a curtain divider. We thought we found a bargain and the price was discounted from the standard two beds price, but it was just an expensive dorm bed reduced to normal dorm room price. The hostel does have excellent facilities and its clean and new and very nice, but it was just a deceiving listing.

Great common area, located in the heart of the action. The dorm rooms are huge (filled with beds, not in the spacious sense) which means bags are sprawled across the room. I only stayed one night so this was fine but I can imagine it would cause Inconvience over time. The toilet area didn't have hot water or light switches to the main lights which was a bit strange. Safety boxes are located on a different floor to sleeping quarters so there's no where to safely store your stuff if you're leaving your bed briefly. These are just minor things that I wanted to bring to the attention of those considering staying here in case you regard them important. All in all, a nice modern place to rest your head whilst exploring Hiroshima. I'll be recommending to friends!

Nice stay at Santiago Hiroshima

This was one of the best hostels I stayed in while in Japan. The star was super nice. Masa-San was very kind to share a bento with me when I first arrived and tell me a little about what I could do in the area. This place was aver all very clean and the atmosphere was super friendly. When I was there It looked like everything was very new, but the place had everything necessary. The common area was very spacious. Many sightseeing near the hostel, very well located. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone going to Hiroshima.

Nos quedamos en la habitación comunal. Son 20 o más personas en un cuarto lo cual per se generará olores y aromas de todo tipo. No lo recomiendo si eres de nariz sensible o nauseosa. El espacio en donde dejas los zapatos en la entrada aunque tratan de mantenerlo fuera de olores es imposible y ojo, esto no tiene que ver con el staff sino con la gente que se hospeda que no cuida sus pies y tiene mal olor. Te dan sábanas limpias y hay un letrero que indica como hay que hacerla. El baño está limpio solo que si eres mujer toma en cuenta que es mixto. Yo básicamente lo utilicé para llegar a bañarme y dormir ambos días y cumple perfecto esa función. Hablan inglés y español lo cual fue bueno.

バスルームと洗面所が多くて混み合う事なくスムーズに使えて良かったです
お部屋は狭いですがベッドがセミダブルで快適に眠れました
全体的に清潔に保たれていました
スタッフも親切に対応してくれました

あえて言うとトイレは男女別だと良かったです

ゲストハウスなので⁈日本人はほとんど居ませんでした

3泊してツインで1人1万円くらいでしたのでまた広島に行く時は利用したいです

コインランドリーも乾燥機も有料ですがあって助かりました

本通りや路面電車の駅も近く、立地が良い。
ランドリーは300円だったが完備されており、シャワールームもたくさんあったので待つことはなかった。
スリッパやタオル、歯ブラシはないので持ってくるか、近くのダイソーで購入することをオススメする。
この立地で、この安さなので言うことなし、コスパ大満足です。
神経質な方はホテルに泊まった方が良いです。
