Other than being in a good location, there is very little to praise about this hotel. The rooms were ancient and stuffy. I was flabbergasted to hear that I was not able to control the temperature in the room. It was not a comfortable stay.

I wouldn't stay again at this hotel. Everything feels like it's in dire need of renovations. The room was small, the sheets were in bad condition, and the room didn't have a cooling system, only heating. There were stains on the walls, and the bathroom looked the same as one on a cruise ship - which is pretty bad for a suite in a hotel. Breakfast was okay - some of the food was inedible, some was good, but the entire thing feels like it needs to come to 2026 instead of staying in the 90s. The only great thing was the view of the 25th floor - it was great going there at night and sip a glass of sake.

Unfortunately the worst place we've stayed in Japan, the walls where paper thin, which didn't stop our neighbours being noisey and energetic... For 30 seconds or so. The bigger problem was our room was right next to the lifts so we could hear them rushing up and down all night and could hear every conversation happening in the hallway very clearly. The building itself is very dated the bathroom looks like it came out of a 1980's caravan. The staff were nice enough and we can't really fault them, but we stayed at the Mitsui garden hotel PREMIER in Kyoto a week before and the staff there went above and beyond so the contrast was quite stark. I'd say this is a step below your average premier inn, so it's hard to recommend. Location on the other hand was fantastic so if you want a cheap place to stay after heavy night of drinking it's passable but if you want a decent hotel, like all of the others we have visited in Japan, I can't recommend this one.

I only spent one night there, but the room had a good view and was okay overall. However, the walls were dirty and really need some attention. The hotel is kind of old, but it’s very close to everything. There are good restaurants nearby and you can also do some shopping around the area.

We loved our stay. Proximity to the Peace museum, shopping and restaurants was ideal. The best part was the buffet breakfast on the 25th floor. The view was to die for! Would highly recommend staying here.

The bathroom could use with a really good deep clean. Maybe time to replace the bathtub. The view from the lounge is amazing and was a nice place to rest at the end of the day. Breakfast was good but maybe more in the way of fresh fruit would be appreciated. The location was perfect.

Noisy. Everywhere else in Japan seems to have soft-close doors: this place has the opposite, with loud clacking doors, meaning sleep can be elusive as people keep coming and going, especially very early in the morning !
Unable to set the temperature in the room as centrally controlled is also very poor.
Dated bathroom and small bedroom. Unable to open window.
Requesting a surcharge if your “free” happy hour drink is alcoholic comes off as cheap - I’d do away with this altogether.
Disappointing experience overall.

In our almost three week holiday in Japan we stayed at nine (!) hotels and while they were honestly all great this one was my absolute favorite. I loved the amazing view from our room on the 22nd floor; the complimentary drinks and snacks in the lounge on the 25th floor so you could chill in the evening with a panoramic view of the city lights without having to leave the building; the fact that housekeeping gives you fresh pyjamas every day (such a luxury!) Great location too, being an easy walk from Peace Park and the main shopping arcade streets. But the absolute best thing about this hotel are the staff. They are unfailingly kind and courteous as well as professional, I felt so taken care of. I would especially like to compliment the ladies working the morning of January 20, 2026 - thank you for being so lovely and helpful, they deserve praise and a raise :) I can’t wait to stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay here. Convenient access to Peace museum about a 10-15 minute walk. Took the ferry from the Peace dome to Miyajima. Staff at hotel were very welcoming. Room was lovely and overlooked the main Street. Breakfast buffet was best we had while in Japan. Good selection of Japanese and western options. Restaurant view was amazing on the 25th floor with big windows to see the views of Hiroshima. Elevators were quick and amenities plentiful. Highly recommend.

We had a very nice stay at the Mitsui Garden Hotel. Like others have said, the hotel feels a bit dated, and the light switches in the room were a bit awkward to use. The staff was great and really made the stay pleasant.

Breakfast was really good with plenty of tasty options. But the happy hour was anything but happy. We expected a bit more than just tiny sweets and a refrigerator. We only saw one other person there, just enjoying the view.

All in all, it was a nice hotel with friendly staff.

This hotel is tired, what makes it is the amazing views from the room and from the breakfast lounge.
Our room was very small and valuable space was taken by furniture which really did not need to be there.
We were unable to have both of our cases open.
The general decor of the room was scruffy, with scuffs and scrapes on the walls, a large stain on the sofa and the bathroom was very dated with no space for washbags and incredibly thin towels.
No coffee in the room and the complimentary evening lounge drinks had been withdrawn just before we arrived for our stay so drinks had to be paid for.
I would not class this as a 4 star hotel and I would be unlikely to stay again.

Clean room however bathroom could do with a bit of an update. Would highly recommend to make sure if your a non smoker to not book a smoking room as the smell hits as soon as you step out of the lift! That was my own mistake but lesson learnt. Good location and if high level room then great view of the mountains.. good price for a quick visit!

I loved this hotel! My room was nice and clean and had a fantastic view. I also loved the area at the top of the hotel where you can get drinks anytime while enjoying great views over the city. The hotel is very well situated close to the peace park and is easily accessible via public transportation. I can only recommend this hotel.

Lovely clean room on 20th floor, sufficient space for 3 nights. Breakfast on 25th floor is pleasant experience with plenty of choice and use of guest lounge throughout the day with some refreshment is appreciated. Conveniently located on Peace Boulevard close to Peace Park and museum etc. The staff are amazing as we left something in the room which they found and on request mailed to our next hotel. A beautiful place to live. Currently its an apartment complex, rrnting out rpoms till the apartments are sold. Full size refrig, convection microwave, washer and cooktop. Only the refrig, microwave and washer are allowed, with a very heavy fine if violated. Most of the staff was nice, but not all, It not in the nature of the Japaneese to be unfriendly, but can be less than helpful.

Mitsui Garden doesn't dissapoint. While this particular hotel was not as grand as the one in Taiwan where I stayed previously, the brand is something that I will always consider. I like the idea that there's a guest lounge where you can relax outside of the room. Light snack is offered but don't expect much. Breakfast is sufficient .Overall, it was a comfortable accomodation.

Loved my stay at Matsui Garden Inn!

As a hotel, the beds are comfortable, the views are nice, the breakfast on the 25th floor was memorable — but the highlight for me was Midori’s tour of Hiroshima for hotel guests. Midori loves Hiroshima and does a great job of explaining its history. I appreciated being able to ask questions about both Hiroshima and Japan. I also loved seeing how she interacts with the locals and I was able to experience Hiroshima like a local. Thank you Mitsui Garden Hotel and thank you Midori.

The hotel is in an ideal location and walkable to most tourist attractions. The rooms are dated however clean. Our first room had a washroom that had a distasteful odour. The manger came promptly and provided us with a new room. Unfortunately the new room also had an odour. I would not rate this as 4 star hotel; however the staff were extremely helpful and did what they could to make our stay comfortable. The soft ice cream on the 25th floor was a bonus.

The highlight of our stay at this hotel was the tour of the Hiroshima memorial. Our tour guide, provided by the hotel, was excellent. She gave us a concise and easy to understand explanation of each of the landmarks we visited, all fully in English. She was also very amiable and kept a positive and easy-going attitude throughout the tour, never rushing us when we took our time to take photos. While waiting for the rest of the tourists to join us, the tour guide showed us how to make a traditional Hiroshima origami, which was a nice and quaint activity. Overall, a pleasant experience at the hotel but I mostly recommend taking advantage of the included Hiroshima memorial tour.

Only had 2 nights, but the hotel was great. Very professional. They have kiosk check in to free up the service people if you needed it so never too long, the free wine and some nibblies between 6 and. 8 pm did go down rather well, and the view from the 25th floor - where the guest lounge is, is amazing.

The hotel is in a good location with an easy walk to lots of sites. Great views from the dining area which has a lovely views - whether having breakfast or a drink in the evening.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was just as described and lots of choice at breakfast. Overall a lovely experience.
