Friendly hotel on a beautiful beach.

A lovely hotel set right on the beach with beautiful views. We chose it for the Tati connection. Friendly staff and a comfortable room with terrace. Pretty little town which felt safe and welcoming. It was a shame there was no drinks fridge in the room, as it was so hot and the parasol was out of order. We had an excellent stay, visiting Pornichet market, La Baule, Gerande and Le Croisic. Lovely swims in the sea.

We arrived to a very surly girl on reception who told us our room was not ready. We were early and did not expect it to be and were happy to have lunch in the restaurant which was good. The room was awful, the bed linen , bed and pillows uncomfortable. The whole place is grubby and the lovely beach is full of dog excrement !!! Disappointing .

I had long dreamed of the perfect French resort hotel on a quiet beach on the basis of the Jaques Tati film. The location is still lovely with a golden sand beach, a sunny southern aspect and the same rocks as in the film.
The hotel has areas such as staircases and corridors that are tired but the rooms are fine (although small) and the breakfast area great. Also the bar outside is welcoming.
Reception, notably Antoine, were very helpful.

Room 112 was too small not up to BW plus standard. The space around the bed was so small you couldn’t open the bathroom door and nowhere to put our small suitcase other than on the bed to open. Could no get the small provided safe to operate.

Lovely hotel for the price in a beautiful spot

A lovely spot right on the beach. Great room with a terrace. Ate at the hotel restaurant, as there aren’t many alternatives locally for dinner. Food was great.
Only small issue was we couldn’t use the breakfast dining room as we had a dog with us. It’s a buffet breakfast so completely understandable. Service was lovely. No complaints at all

A pleasant stay in a lovely location.

We had a lovely stay at the Hotel de la Plage, we had seen it feature in the film Mr Hulot's Holiday and it was lovely to stay in this beautiful location. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful and breakfast was good. We ate in the on-site restaurant in the evening but it seemed it was not part of the hotel. Only thing I would mention is the lack of toiletries provided, you will need to take your own, there is a soap dispenser next to the wash basin and shower but difficult to reach if in the bath and no separate shampoo etc. Tea, coffee and water were provided in the room. We had a lovely balcony so were able to sit out with tea and enjoy the view over the beach and the sea. There is on site parking. Lovely walks along the coast. Don't miss the statue of Mr Hulot outside!

Everything was very nice at this hotel. Except we couldn’t understand how we could take our little dog in the restaurant for dinner and lunch but not breakfast? So we ordered it to be taken in our room when it arrived the fruit was very tired we were also told we would have a mix of pastries but only got hard bread and chocolate croissants so we were not very happy about that!

It was rather bizarre we had a bag ofg laundry to wash but when we took it to reception the receptionist said there was no way they could wash the clothes as they didn'y have a washing machine. So I asked why they put laundry bags in the room! He said he had no idea.

Near the beach, breakfast 6.00 til 10.00 no coffee and croissants after this time, not allowed to sit on the terrace. Tiny room but with nice view of the sea, no balcony, very few places to eat in the village. Hotel would not provide a towel for the beach. Good supermarket near the hotel.

We had a sea view room overlooking the water, it was a fantastic view and perfect for walking.
The hotel is a bit tired looking but the rooms were quite large, clean and comfortable.
I have been travelling for nearly 3 weeks so far and the food in the attached restaurant is the best I have had so far. The presentation, taste and value was unbelievable.

On the beach

We stayed overnight in a superior room . The receptionist was friendly and helpful and our room, although small, was nicely decorated with a view over the beach. The on site restaurant, which is not run by the hotel management, was not so good. I was a grubby and the service was poor; we had to chivvy the staff all through the meal. I had a huge caesar salad and a burger, both of which were good; my wife had a sirloin steak which was not value for money.

Great Hotel, a room with a balcony is a must

Lovely hotel with lovely staff. Had a room with a huge balcony, which was amazing. Unfortunately atelier the sun was not shining so we couldn't use it to its best ability. We did manage breakfast though. A trip to the local boulangerie made for a lovely breakfast. The car park although was not secured it was covered by cctv, a beautiful spot on the beach with lovely staff.

The hotel is world famous thanks to its appearance in 'Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot, Jacques Tati's 1953 comedy classic. While the hotel has been extensively redeveloped its character and charm are still there. We had one of the best rooms with balcony and spectacular view over the beach. Well worth the extra!! Hotel staff are very friendly, the restaurant (it's run as a separate business) is also good. Several local restaurants but many were closed while we were there (depends on time/date). Beach gets super crowded in the summer, we heard. Really, really enjoyed are time there.

This hotel is situated right on the beach and the location is perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke excellent English. The restaurant food was delicious and the hotel had a nice ambience. On the downside the bar is very small with limited seating. We booked a standard room with sea view, the sea view was great but the room was tiny and it was not possible to walk around the bed without bumping into the wardrobe. There wasn't anywhere to sit in the room except on the bed which was disappointing.

Evening meals were of the highest quality. The only adverse comment would be that the choice at breakfast is possibly a little thin, but this is more than made up for by every other advantage of the hotel.

FANS OF M. HULOT FILM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

We travelled by Eurostar to Paris and TGV to St. Nazaire, and chose to hire a small car. We were strangers to this coast, and the weather of an Indian summer helped our enjoyment enormously. The village is unassuming, and the hotel is the focal point. The restaurant, famous from the 1954 film, has been rebuilt as an extended terrace with a large capacity. The food is good, but pricey. The Brittany coast is well known for seafood, and this is reflected in the menu. A day's drive around the peninsular will take in an Atlantic Wall blockhouse, salt lagoons, dunes, an excellent restaurant - Le Neptune- and a walled medieval city - Guerande. Home again in time to enjoy a sundowner overlooking M. Hulot's beach before supper. Two bars in the village have live blues bands, but be sure to book a table for Sunday lunch at the hotel, because the locals take lunch seriously. Essentials like a mini-supermarket, a tabac (for maps) and a boulangerie are close by. We deducted points for no aircon, poor TV channels - CNN but not BBC World Service. Separate payments for bar or restaurant, and hotel irksome. Very helpful staff throughout made up for it.

Hotel used in Jaques Tati's 1953 film Monsieur Hulot's Holiday. Great location right on the beach with bar service on the beach. Small village with a useful selection of shops. Really good cliff top walks with lots of pretty beaches. Rooms overlook either the village or the sea at a higher cost. My room was rather small but adequate and good standard of bathroom fittings. Restaurant seems to be run as a separate enterprise as you have to pay separately but this is becoming increasingly common in France. Food good and interesting. Reception staff very helpful and speak good English. Large free car park.

We stayed in one of the first floor rooms with a large terrace over looking the beach. A good size double bed and two foldaway beds for the children. The terrace was lovely. We ate in the restaurant which was good, although very busy. Great English speaking reception staff. Perfect hotel for a one night stop on the way back to St Malo.

Wonderful location

Lovely hotel. Right on the beach. Staff very helpful. We booked the superior room with sea view and terrace balcony and were delighted with it. The balcony was very large and meant we had plenty of room to lounge about and enjoy the fantastic views. I am happy to recommend this hotel to all and would certainly stay there again.

Great Hotl on the Beach.

Great hotel right on the beach. Had a room with sea view which was worth the cost. Staff wonderful and extremely helpful; giving us an idea of where else to visit locally. On downside; the Tati Family will now not let the hotel use the Jaques Tati character outlines (Mon Oncle) which is disappointing as the hotel was in the film. Otherwise everything was to our expectations.

From the moment we arrived to the time of departure, our stay in this hotel was wonderful. We booked a room with balcony and sea view, and we were not disappointed. The staff were excellent, and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much of a problem. The room was spacious and modern. Shower had endless supply of hot water. Restaurant served an excellent range of good food. We were reluctant to leave and will return.

Surprisingly unique, chic, we loved it.

Booked at last minute after a quick web search. What a find!!! I usually avoid big chains but this hotel is a little gem in an otherwise big chain. In the pretty Saint Marc, directly on the beach with amazing views; super friendly, helpful staff; the hotel is contemporary chic and welcoming.

Another thing I usually avoid is hotel restaurants - but this hotel restaurant is a MUST VISIT! Dinner here was delicious and the atmosphere equally pleasing. All in all a hands-down no holds barred recommendation.

Oh and mon petit chien was made very welcome too :)

This hotel is perfectly located directly on the relatively small beach. My room was on the second floor and with a magnificent sea view. The rooms with sea view on the first floor (probably suites) had large terrasses. There are restaurants and bars right in front of the hotel, which were a bit loud in the evening, but luckily closed early. The only negative surprise was the lack of A/C. But fortunately it wasn't a hot day/night and there was a nice breeze from the sea.

Notre deuxième séjours c'est très bien déroulé de part l'accueil, puis la vue imprenable au côté de notre cher M. Hulo, le calme, la nuit bercé auprès de ma charmante épouse, par le vent, les vagues .... les souvenirs de l'enfance de ma sirène qui me racontait son enfance de
l'inconscience. Heureusement ! nous disons : jamais deux sans trois.

La habitación era de dimensiones reducidas, aunque si disponía de terraza según la solicitud. El baño era minúsculo también, casi no te podías mover, ni meter a la bañera, ya que el espacio entre el lavabo y la mampara de la bañera, era muy pequeño.

Etwas sehr kleines Zimmer aber es hat sich gelohnt das Zimmer aufs Meer hinaus zu nehmen. Am Abend ist totale Ruhe und man hört das Meeresrauschen das ist den Mehrpreis wert, Vor allem da die Zimmer sowieso nicht so günstig sind.

Il n'y a pas de climatisation dans les chambres, juste un ventilateur qui ne sert pas à grand chose si vous avez en plus une chambre sous les toits...
Si vous arrivez à l'heure des repas, vous ne trouverez aucune place sur le parking ! Il est franchement dommage que les places disponibles ne soient pas réservées aux clients de l'hôtel.

Très bon hôtel.
Le personnel d'accueil etait très sympathique et souriant.
Notre chambre (exclusive) etait relativement spacieuse, propre. La literie était très confortable. Une belle et grande terrasse donnait directement sur la plage. Très agréable quand il fait beau.
Petit déjeuner sous forme de buffet complet et bon. Viennoiseries, pain frais, oeufs brouillés et lard, fromages, jus d'orange pressé à la minute, laitages, etc... le tout dans une salle de restaurant avec vue sur l'océan.
Seul petit bémol qu'il n'y ait pas de bar pour siroter un verre, mis à part celui du restaurant et auquel nous n'avons pas accès sauf à déjeuner au restaurant.

Hotel très bien situé le long d'une plage et à proximité du centre-village (commerces, marché, autres restaurants). Chambre très calme et bien entretenue. Belle salle de bain avec une très grande douche. Les chambres sous les toits peuvent être très chaudes par temps de canicule. Seul bémol, devoir payer la note du restaurant et du bar de manière séparée de celle de la chambre.

Hôtel très bien placé . Les chambres demandent à être refaites et sont très exiguës . Dommage car celles avec terrasse sont exceptionnelles pour la vue .

deux Bretons en balade

F-O-R-M-I-D-A-B-L-E séjour avec un très bon accueil souriant, vue sur mer avec un très bon confort.
Le ménage est de très bonne qualité.
Un seul regret ! cela passe trop vite, c'est pour cela que nous récidiverons..
Juste un problème de fêtards nocturnes sur la plage.

Hotel les pieds dans l'eau

Hotel bien situé, agreable. Les chambres sont un peu petites. Un seul problème, notre chambre etait situee cote village et juste en contrebas de l'hotel, il y avait un bar tres bruyant jusque vers 2h du matin. Les chambres cote mer sont à privilégier.

Parking sur place si arrivée assez tôt.
