The Hotel is in a perfect location
Walking distance to the cruseship close to shopping
The breakfast buffet is with a very large selection that can please any nationality
The dinner buffet is also very very good especially on a Friday Saturday and Sunday is incredible the variety is amazing included is all kinds of wine from different parts of the world
I must mention the excellent service of Angela very helpful in any way she can in upgrading to a beautiful large room with two washrooms and two Tv
Also the accommodation of one time to the lounge for free and the service that I experienced in the restaurant from some of the managers like Lake , and two others that now I forgot their name was fantastic
Super experience with courtesy and Beatiful manner they should get a raise for what they do
In conclusion my experience in this hotel is been something that I will never forget
Definitely I will return without thinking of others hotel
Think that I booked for 4 days but after experiencing the first 4 days I booked for 5 more days

The room is larger than normal and clean. The staff are very very helpful. When there was cigarette smoke smell in the room, likely from the aircon vents. The staff tried to address the complains immediately, by providing an air purifier, offering for a room change, airing the room and providing a diffuser. The glass panel can also be cleaner. On balance, I enjoyed my stay and would love to stay here again.

The hotel is located very closed to major tourist attraction and has great view of the Gulangyu island. The room is clean and spacious. We tried the lunch buffet which is fantastic, it is a bit pricey 278RMB but we got 50% off coupon as a guest so it is worth it.

Second visit in a month. Booked 3 rooms both times. The Gulangyu view rooms are spacious and have good view of the island. Location is convenient. The experience of our last visit was better than this one. Check-in staff was less friendly and lack of pleasantness during the whole process. Breakfast was crowded with long wait to enter as the hotel was quite full during the Christmas holidays.

Everything was fine except for the breakfast. Now the hotel is using artificial factory made bacon. Who knows what the meat was from? Was really disappointed. That's the only reason I pay the extra money to stay at the Swiss Grand. Moreover, the capacinno coffee was very watery. Will not be staying again.

Nice room with great view

We had a wonderful 4 nights stay. The room which we had booked has an obstructed view of Gulangyu. Our package also comes with free flow of drinks and refreshments in the Executive Lounge for 3 times a day. We will definitely choose this hotel again in future.

Great hotel in a vibrant area. Rooms were large and the facilities were excellent with a fancy whiskey bar and great Thai restaurant. Breakfast was a little tricky for westerners and it was tough to communicate with staff. This was my only issue with the hotel. For a western brand, it would make it easier if more staff could speak English.

It’s centrally located in the heart of Xiamen. It’s so close to one of the ferry piers to GuLangYu. It’s highly recommended.

I found my room was not serviced at all when I came back from outside and towers were not replaced. When I complained and asked why. They said I put “do not disturb” . I was shocked because I did not do so unless that was default? They did not even check ? It makes no sense for me to receive no service.

The hotel is absolutely lovely albeit a little bit dated. Rooms were very clean. I was surprised that my (expensive) booking didn't include breakfast but it didn't bother me. The Gulangyu View Room had a spectacular view. Service at the hotel was lovely although they seem to want to charge for everything. I got a couple of coffee sachets in my room and there was a sign saying if I wanted more, it was chargeable. Seemed a bit odd to me because I would not use the tea bags. I wonder if they would have swapped tea bags for coffee? But I thought charging for coffee and sugar was a bit petty. The hotel is in a wonderful location. The area is very walkable with lots to see and do. The hotel comes recommended!

Impressed and touched by every staff at reception during our 7 nights stay. Especially Ms Ellen. Due to repair works taking place on or below the 15th floor we stayed, our room was upgraded to 26th floor.

Ms Ellen ran extra miles when I asked for information on an unheard of village some 200km away. She made calls, location search and how to get around and about. Amazingly I found my long lost relatives. Thank you very much again Ellen.

Compliments too to 26th floor staff. Vicky surprised us with a mini birthday cake.
2 young ladies greeted us with moon cakes.
Room cleaning lady showed concern when I fell sick on my last 3 days stay. She brought a bowl of hot porridge to sooth my stomach before taking medication.
Upon check out, Ms Lora ensured all are in order for our departure.

1. This hotel is built above ground 5 story high. In front there is a shopping complex which is 3 minutes walk from the hotel main entrance. When the mall is open, you can use their elevators to go to the street level. If not you will have to walk the ramp which is inclined to 5 story high. NOT a good thing when you do not have a car or would like to come out for a walk.

2. The bell boys are very helpful. The managers are very helpful and knowledgeable. But the waitress in the lobby is not. She does not know English and when I approached her for a table. She snap in Mandarin that she does not speak English. Lucky I spoke both English and Mandarin. But I told her that was not the way to do it considering they are a 5 star international chain hotel.

3. Air conditioning could be better. They are part of the Accor Family which always have great air conditioning.

4. Head waitress in the second floor chinese restaurant and the steak place on the ground floor were great too.

The location and service is excellence. Only the room temperature needed a bit of work to learn how get the right temperature. The dehumidifier and the aircond must work together and empty the water. Otherwise, the room will be very humid and warm.

The room is very comfortable especially the bed and blanket. The hotel location is good. It is between the metro station and Zhongshan Street. Heping Wharf is only 400m from hotel. The gym is very big. The only thing that need to improve is the buffet lunch quality. They have many many variety of food but only a few items are nice.

complimentary mineral water bottles should place in the room and not in the toilet. There is also another 2 bottle of mineral water that need to pay money and was place inside the room. My hubby think is free and drank it. In the end we need to pay money for it

The hotel is very conveniently located along the bay, short walking distances to one of the ferries, and to the pedestrian street with local stores and restaurants. The seaside room provides a breath taking view of the bay and the island, especially during night time. It is reasonably priced. Beds are comfortable. The swimming pool is nice. The only complaint I would have is the breakfast, not five star caliber for sure, especially in China.

Property was located in great area, near lots of shopping and food places. We were given free upgrade since it was our first visit to Xiamen. Room is spacious with beautiful view of harbor. Some minor problems in room but was quickly addressed by management once issues were addressed. Required swim cap was the other issue I forgot to mention. Guests, men, women, & children, were required to wear swim cap but nothing was mentioned on website. They should have stated so it won’t be a surprise for travelers.

This is my 2nd post because this hotel is so good, that I extended 3 more days instead of somewhere.
As previous 3 days of stay, I commented as follows :
a. Hotel check in is great and warm welcome, b. lobby is 5 star , c. Restaurant for Breakfast and lunch at 2nd floor is good , you can feel the energy from young generation but some staff seemed to be too new, ( I give 99 of 100 because 1 point deduct , I ask for ice water and they give me cool room temp and second time also, but the Black Dress Supervisor or Manager on the 1st day did use
ice and water to make ( at least I think she is flexible and professional
The Thai Restaurant , is amazing Chef Dam and Manager Christine both need my compliment again

Really put heart and attention to guest and this are only people who care about their guest can do.

Christine remember by favorite seat and Chef Dam did communicate with me during off peak hours

230 pm , for my inquiry and praise for the handle of Soft shell crab and other dishes, which is amazing ( been to Thailand 43 times and many Thai Restaurant in Asia and USA. but his skill
and can see his passion for food and like to hear comments to hear guest communication

Booked 2 deluxe room with sea view, requested for non-smoking and king-size bed. During check-in, front desk informed that only one king-size bed room left on the same floor, so we chose one twin-beds room on the same floor instead of both king-size bed rooms at different floor. One of the room had a slight smell of tobacco, told the concierge but they did not provide any solution. Stayed 5D4N, the room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. Cleanliness is good. The room has fantastic view of the Gulangyu island. Walking distance (within 10 mins) to the Zhongsan Rd, very convenient.

I requested non smoking room and the concierge told it is but it seems it used to be a smoking room and there was an ashtray in the room. Still bad smell of tabacco on top of it.
Overall it was good location but it was not worth using of executive room.

Family room is spacious. we were a family of 5 but we were all comfortable with the bed configuration and room. Area is quite centrally located. Bathroom is also spacious and good. Amenities were excellent. Although the living area may need a bit of clean up. They were also too strict with the swimming pool. They don’t allow guests to swim if you don’t have a swimming cap. Beside the hotel is the Costa coffee franchise. And around 400 meters away is the Starbucks

We have chosen the hotel as it’s 10 min walk from eating and shopping street - zhong shan lu n directly opposite gulangyu island. The view from our 24th floor room is great but the bed is not so comfortable. Being 500+ room hotel, the waiting time for the lift is long. Breakfast spread caters more to local guests. The chinese restaurent offers quality food at reasonable price.

Wonderful stay

My family and I had a wonderful 4 days stay. The service of the staffs from reception, concierge and housekeeping were good. I had booked 2 sea view twin rooms and 2 double bedded suites. All the rooms were big and clean. The walking distance to the famous zhongshan street is about 10min walk. The sea view rooms are able to overlook Gulangyu. What made the kids more excited is the hotel using a robot to deliver amenities when we requested for extra slipper. Definitely will be back to stay if coming to Xiamen.
