Nothing special..

Hotel is located closer to the beach and that's only positive thing about it. Free parking is on street and on off the facility parking area nearby. We were lucky to always find parking spot, not sure what to do if you come very late at night and no spots available. Hotel located between beach and residential area. Some surrounding area looks bit economically depressed but that's part of the experience. Hotel rooms are fine and clean but bathroom situation soured our experience. Bathroom are small and thats fine but some rooms are missing glass partition between shower area and toilet (and some rooms have very sort partition) so when you take shower then water splashes every where including toilet, we didn't like this situation. We were also not informed of room service policies, they don't replace towels or clean room everyday (they only take rubbish everyday)..full service is every second or third day, lady at reception wasn't completely clear on it. We didn't get breakfast at hotel (I think 15€ each adult) instead walk few blocks and got it from close by bakeries.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week here in one of the Junior Suites - lovely to wake up to a beautiful sea view. All staff demonstrated the highest levels of politeness, friendliness and helpfulness throughout the stay, with a special mention to Vicky on reception, who was an absolute fount of knowledge and suggestions. Many thanks to everyone for making our visit so wonderful.

This property was suggested by ebooker's rep. after failing to original book online. This studio apartment was superb with all necessary newly equipped furniture and fantastic sea/beach view from the bedroom. Also in quiet location in front with open square. Restaurant , Bar, & reception staffs very helpful. Option to have towels & bedsheets change frequently. I would definitely go again here

Happy with our choice

It was a very clean, small hotel at the end of the long sandy beach area. It was quite far from the old city to walk there every day, but there are a good couple of nice restaurants nearby.
The room was spacious with basic equipment in the kitchenette.
Generally, we were happy with our choice but must mention a couple of things in the hope it will improve the hotel further.
- Breakfast was very basic and repetitive. During our 10 day stay, we found every day the same food, which we got bored with after a few days. It would have been nice to see variety in pastries, ham, eggs or even fruits.
- Showergel and shampoo...every time we had to ask for it.
- The open shower was very narrow what made the whole bathroom flooding after use.

On the positive side:
- The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The location is perfect. Steps away from the beach and a number of boardwalk taverns that we enjoyed more than the busy restaurants in the main part of town. We used the car to get to the center of town with easy, inexpensive parking at the port.
The hotel is lovely and our superior apartment perfect for three of us. Very spacious. We very much enjoyed the quiet and respectful guests. We did not take the buffet breakfast but it looked lovely. I highly recommend this property.

Great Service!

Despite we arrived to the hotel quite late in the evening, the reception desk left everything perfectly prepared for our arrival. The morning after, they advised us on the beaches to go due to the strong wind. Excellent!

Friendly, quiet, clean & clean smelling, spacious, close to ocean and lots of restaurants. Could walk or take local buses to old town historical area. Beach is rocky enough that water shoes are a real asset but water is very clear, warm & waves are gentle most days. The one down side is that smoking is allowed in all common areas, but that is the situation throughout Greece. Consistent, beautiful weather in Sept.

Excellent location for Rethymno. Good size rooms / apartments.

Not as clean as others (kitchen smelt damp inside cupboards). Power cut one evening (not their fault) but there wasn’t anyone there to reassure guests / help / let them know what was going on. Decor a little dated (but reasonable for price). Building site in front of hotel (also not their fault and looks like it will improve the hotel once finished, but would have been nice to be forewarned). Noisy water pump on roof meaning we were awake for a lot of the first night. We were put on second floor with a three year old and there is no lift. Not enough parking for guests staying. Not particularly secure (no front door that was locked at night, anyone could come up the stairs to the door of your apartment)

A hidden gem...

We took an off season break (17-24 October). I am disabled and this was our first holiday with my electric scooter and third one abroad since my accident nearly 6 years ago. Phoebe and all the other staff were very helpful and accommodating. They responded to my e-mail request of a room with a sea view on to the first floor (due to my mobility problems) by providing a room that overlooked the pool with a direct sea view where I could people watch and admire the view without climbing too many stairs. The room was clean, well decorated, functional with everything we needed for eating our breakfast/lunch or having snacks. The beds were comfortable with cotton sheets, the room was serviced regularly and fresh white fluffy towels were given every few days. We followed Phoebe's advice and frequented local tavernas, villages, sites and were never disappointed. My wheelchair got 5* treatment and carried me right to the flight of stairs to our room. We tested the bar, pool and sunbeds and enjoyed every one. Everyone was friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. I even asked if the owner had another hotel at different locations on the island. For us, it was a lovely holiday where we made good memories. Thank you all for making our holiday so relaxing.

Excellent location, nice and quiet but near sea and prom. 30 mins walk into town. Parking in street. large room with big balcony with sea view and small balcony with courtyard view. Staff really helpful and friendly. Perfectly adequate breakfast. Basic kitchen in room. Only 6 hangers so travel light or bring your pens. Not a lot of drawer space either but perhaps we take too much luggage.

Lovely Hotel Appartment near Rethymnon

The Aristea Hotel was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had a sea view studio, which was spacious and and well-appointed, with a full kitchen. It was about 2' from a lovely mostly sandy beach, but unfortunately the sea was very rough on the days we were there, so couldn't really enjoy it. The area had some very good restaurants nearby and was about 10' by car from the centre of Rethymnon. We had breakfast at the the hotel most days and it was tasty with quite a lot of choice. Parking was adjacent to the hotel.The only downside I can think of is the Wifi, which was patchy, especially in the room, better in the lobby area. I also have to mention the very kind and helpful staff, Vicky and Vivian. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Friendly staff, well kept & clean hotel, great facilities - lovely pool with sun beds, umbrellas, changing/toilet facilities, pool bar, plenty of choice at breakfast buffet. Rooms good with regular cleaning & sheet changes. Great location close to beach (with sunsets to die for) near to lots of restaurants & shops and a 30 minute walk into main Rethymnon town along promenade. Teenage son appreciated basketball court right next to hotel (quiet though). With hire car easy to reach Chania, Heraklion, South Coast beaches & lots of interesting places in between - Kalyves beach, Kournas Lake, Prevelli Beach, Knossos, WaterCity waterpark, Arkadi Monastery, Elaftherma Ancient Site, Marguerites pottery village and Rethymnon Fortezza & Venetian harbour/lighthouse all worth a visit. Stunning scenery & friendly local who couldn't do enough to help & make us feel welcome.

Great hotel very close the beach.

The room was larger than expected, clean, and provided all of the necessary items - towels, beds, a table and chairs, cutlery, dishes, a coffee maker, a fridge, and a small hob. There was a lovely little balcony with a clothes drying rack as well. It was super close to the beach - only a minute or two walk. Staff was lovely and friendly and very accommodating. I would highly recommend. Breakfast was delicious as well. There is also a pool and bar area outside.

2 star and then some - fully recommend.

Stayed for 5 nights at the artistea and if this is the level of a 2* then I'll be doing it again. Room was big and comfortable with ample facilities, local beach was lovely and on the doorstep and the hotel staff were brilliant - special mention to Vicky who was helpful above and beyond.
The buffet breakfast however needs a bit of work and the pool area ok at best, but access to the really nice beach made it ok.
Would recommend as a cheap and cheerful stay with everything you need to enjoy a sun break.

Vi var en familie på 4, alt fint.
Rommet var rent og moderne, sengene gode.
Ordinær frokost - som er helt innafor.

Basseng og solsenger er fint, alt rent.
Mat i baren er også gode. Kort avstand til strand og rolig omgivelser , veldig behagelig.

Eneste ulempe jeg har å si er parkeringen. Var stress med bil hittil, så anbefales ikke å ha bil med her. Det finnes dog masse leiebil rundt på stedet man kan leie ved behov.

Og dyne kunne vært bedre , vi sov med et tynt pledd som var noe ubehagelig.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Super freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Uns wurden gleich beim Check in infos für die Sehenswürdigkeiten gegeben und Restaurantsempfehlungen.
Strand ist 1‘ zu Fuß entfernt und die Altstadt von Rethymno 20‘ mit dem Auto.
Einziger Nachteil: geringe Parkmöglichkeiten

We had a lovely stay. Staff was very sweet. Small things like old stains on the towels. The pool could have used a little cleaning on the bottom and a few things in the room needed a little help.
The service is great though, and the staff very helpful and sweet. We got to store pur luggage there and stay by the pool long after checkout because of late flight. Would definetely recommend. Just next to the beach and a lot of restaurants

Das Hotel hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Es ist in einem sehr guten Zustand und hat nette und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter*innen.
Der Pool ist sehr schön und hat gute Liegemöglichkeiten. Innerhalb von einer Minute ist man am Strand.
Verschiedene Einkaufsläden sind in wenigen Gehminuten z erreichen.
- die Türen sind sehr hellhörig, wodurch man schon früh durch die Stimmen beim Frühstück oder Gäste die sich unterhalten geweckt wird.

Ett mindre, väldigt mysigt hotell på bra läge. Väldigt trevlig personal! Rent och prydligt.
Mycket god frukostbuffé! Liten, fin pool. Aldrig problem att få en solstol. Mycket nära till stranden. Restauranger och minimarket i närheten. Tog taxi in till gamla stan i Rethymnon på kvällen ibland.

Top notch Aristea apartments

Wij logeerden in de recent gebouwde appartementen van het hotel. Ruime, mooi ingerichte suites met zicht op zee.
Zeer vriendelijk, efficiënt personeel ( zowel de dames aan de check-in balie als het keukenpersoneel en de poetshulp evenals de man aan de bar).
Rustige buurt met diverse zeer goede restaurants in de nabije omgeving. Gratis gebruik van strandstoelen aan zee. Winkels en openbaar vervoer in de wijk.

Très bon accueil

Les personnes a l'accueil sont tres accueillantes et nous on donné plein de conseils pour les choses à voir dans les environs. La piscine est très bien et tout est très propre.
La cuisine est vraiment d'appoint, juste assez de vaisselle pour 3 et les plaques sont tres longues a chauffer.
La literie est sans doute tres récente mais très ferme. La salle de bain est très moderne (grande douche).
Le prix du petit dejeuner est un peu élevé (10 euros)
Un très bon sejour tout de même et la plage est à 3 min a pied.

HÔTEL BORD DE PLAGE AU CALME MAIS PAS LOIN DE TOUT

Très très très bon accueil et très bons conseils de visite donnés par la réceptionniste
Hôtel dans quartier calme : vieille ville et port de Rethymnon à 3.5 km (30 à 40 minutes à pied) et 5 minutes en voiture
Hôtel très propre (hôtel, chambres, piscine) et ménage fait tous les jours
Joli jardin dans cour intérieur très bien entretenu
Un voire 2 balcons par chambre bien appréciables
Petite cuisine dans les appartements (spacieux) toute équipée (frigo, micro ondes, cafetière, bouilloire, plaque cuisson, four) donc bien pratique (nous n'avons ainsi pas pris le PDJ de l'hôtel surtout avec des enfants qui ont des goûts particuliers pour le PDJ... ou quand on déjeune peu le matin)
A 30 mètres de la longue plage de Rethymnon qui fait entre 2 et 3 km
A 5 minutes en voiture de l'axe routier pour aller vers côte ouest ou est de l'île donc bien pratique
Plusieurs supérettes à proximité et un Lidl à 5 minutes en voiture avec beaucoup de choix et certains produits que l'on trouve en France (donc pratique si l'on veut des articles qu'on a l'habitude d'acheter en France :)
Plusieurs tavernes à moins de 5 minutes dont To Pareaki et Akropolis Family avec très bon rapport qualité prix... et musique crétoise (chants guitare) pour l'Akropolis animée par le père et le fils le soir
Autres restaurants tout le long de la plage à proximité avec magasins de souvenirs et supérettes
A 2 minutes de l'hôtel, dans rue avoisinante, un magasin qui vend des excursions (Elafonissi, Preveli, Gramvoussa etc.)

Das Hotel ist ca. 3km vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Zu Fuss dauert das etwas lange. Wir fuhren mit dem Auto ins Zentrum, dort gibt es einen grossen Parkplatz am Hafen.

Das Hotel bietet ein wunderbares Frühstücksbuffet, die gesamte Anlage ist sehr schön gestaltet und der Pool lädt zum Schwimmen ein. Allerdings sollte die Zimmerwahl genau überlegt werden, die lower Appartment sind aufgrund der Lage etwas feucht und die darin enthaltenen Möbel haben darunter bereits gelitten. Die Matratzen sind sehr hart, wer es gewohnt ist, kommt gut damit zurecht. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich.

Le personnel est accueillant et dévoué. Toutefois, pour le stationnement avec un véhicule loué, il y a clairement un problème… la rue est petite et il n'existe aucun espace clairement défini pour l'hôtel. Ceci est un problème majeur...

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel war in sehr gutem Zustand und die Zimmer sind verspielt um den Innenhof ausgerichtet. Der Pool war sehr sauber und angenehm zum schwimmen. Direkt neben dem Hotel ist ein öffentlicher Strand, in dem auch günstig Liegen ausgeliehen werden konnten. Der Parkplatz ist oft gut gefüllt, aber das Hotelpersonal hat gerne geholfen einen Parkplatz zu organisieren. Haben den Urlaub sehr genossen.

Ενω το δωματιο ηταν ευρυχωρο και καθαρο ειχε μια εντονη δυσοσμια που δεν καταλαβα αν ερχοταν απο το μπανιο η τον εξωτερικο χωρο.θα ηταν χρησιμο να υπηρχαν σιτες στα παραθυρα. Δεν υπηρχε παρκιγκ παρα μονο για δεκα αυτοκινητα κι αυτα πανω στον δρομο. Ωραιο πρωινο και εξυπηρετικο προσωπικο!

Gutes bis sehr gutes Hotel in mittelmäßiger Lage

Hotel ist prima bzw. sehr schön im andalusischen Stil, vom nie benutzen Pool einmal abgesehen, da dieser doch etwas zu klein und der Platz zu beengt ist; aber mit dem Meer in der unmittelbaren Nähe (100 Meter) spielte dies keine allzu große Rolle, zumindest nicht für mich. Personal jedoch hervorragend, und zwar allesamt - ohne Ausnahme!
Lage des Hotels ist jedoch nicht so toll (viel Bebauung), wenn man andere Orte kennt auf Kreta....aber dies ist natürlich alles individuelle Geschmackssache; Der Strand ist ok, aber nicht überragend. Хороший отель за небольшие деньги.

При бронировании искала отель с хорошим соотношением цена-качество.Бронировала стандартную студию,по факту оказался большой номер из двух комнат ,ванная.Кухня полностью оборудована, есть даже жидкость для мытья посуды с губкой и микроволновка.Телевизор: 3 русских канала, но он мне был не нужен, так как в отеле прекрасный wifi, и все можно смотреть онлайн. Вся техника работала.Проблем с горячей водой не было.В каждой комнате кондиционер. Чисто, регулярная уборка.Пляж в 50 метрах от отеля.Рядом полно магазинов и таверн, автобусная остановка.При заселении все рассказали и дали карту города.По пляжному променаду до старого города 45 мин пешком.Если вы не собираетесь все время сидеть в номере, а также отдохнуть от толп туристов, то Aristea -прекрасный вариант для отдыха.Рекомендую!

Overall great hotell with one minor(or major) flaw

Great hotel. Nice rooms. Excellent check in information. Very friendly and polite staff. Great building nice bar. The only bad thint is that the ac cost extra and is expensive. It cost 9 euros.

Très bel hôtel agréable et chambre tres spacieuse. Un petit patio central très beau. Personnel très chaleureux. Nous n avons pas testé petit déjeuner et ne sommes malheureusement resté qu' une nuit.
