Anemon Koleksiyon Galata is truly a comfortable and welcoming hotel. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful, assisting me with early check-in and providing great local information. The room was spotless, cozy, and had a beautiful view of the Galata Tower. Breakfast was tasty, and the terrace view is absolutely stunning.

A special thanks to Mr. Muhammet at the reception — he was very professional, kind, and always ready to help with anything. This is a trustworthy, sustainable, safe, and very clean hotel. I’ll definitely choose Anemon Koleksiyon Galata again on my next trip to İstanbul.

Walkable and just minutes away from Galata Tower and to coffee shops and restaurants - location 10/10. Hotel not so good as very old and need some updates . First night shower clogged so was moved to another room next day thank you . Unfortunately the room where we were moved to shower also clogged but not as bad so was just tolerated. Third night the AC was not working and we reported but nite Manager did not do anything . All staff very helpful especially day Manager.

GREAT LOCATION. This hotel is located right at the base of the Galata tower and the view from both sides of the hotel is very good! We enjoyed the breakfasts with an amazing view to the bridges and sea or to the Galata tower on the other side of the cafeteria. Also great ambient music while having a great breakdast. The café at the entrance detracts from the hotel style. Only the front rooms have good views. The rest are dark and dreary. Decor needs a refresh. Shower needs maintenance to control and eliminate mould. Only one small bottle of water is complimentary; thise in the fridge are charged to your account.

It don't even know why this hotel has a 4-star rating; it doesn't even deserve one star. The rooms smell terrible, and the bathrooms are equally unpleasant. We felt the need to leave the room quickly. The only advantage of this hotel is its location, but I wouldn't recommend staying here just for that, because it smells bad everywhere, even in the corridors. We booked the hotel for 3 nights and spent most of our time outside, as we didn't feel like going back to the hotel, so we only stayed for a couple of hours to sleep.

The room was supposed to be a deluxe twin. It was a tiny , dated room with damp patches on the bathroom ceiling. The ceiling also leaked at one stage although it was repaired straight away . We had a very small balcony but there were cigarette butts all in the plant pots ,and the net curtain smelt of smoke. we don’t smoke . Having said that the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast room view was amazing , overlooking the Galata tower

My experience at the Anemon Hotel Galata

Location was not bad for young people, but not ideal for my elderly mother to walk to the Metro station or walk up the hill towards Taksim!

Seating area outside the Hotel was not comfortable and very narrow to have coffee or smoke, it was not convenient at all especially for old people!

The good side was the staff, and their hospitality, they always smile, especially staff in the bar and in the reception area as well as the managers. Overall staying at this hotel was good but not ideal.

Last thing, I would like to mention about the Top Roof Restaurant, we were very unhappy because they were always telling us it is full & there's no seating for us outside only in the inside with dark lighting, although they are aware that my mother is partially blind, and we are guests in the Hotel!

P.S. Rooms should be more clean and there should always be inspection regarding electricity and broken things, i.e. showers etc.

Location is litterally next to the tower - you can not get closer. We had our small balcony right next to it so was great for people watching. Check in could have been better, more friendly and welcoming.( we had just moved from the whitehouse hotel - which was beyond friendly). Live jazz in the wine bar downstairs was great & the Wine bar manager was first class. Accomodating a nut allergy excellently. The roof restaurant is awesome for sunset dinner and drinks - overlooking the tower square or istanbal. Great views.

Great location, standard double room, river view with one bed is tiny. The bed takes up the entire room! Nice bathroom, very low water pressure on the 4th floor though. Rooms are dated, but a great view of Istanbul from room 406! If you’re only staying for one night or two, it’s a good hotel to rest your head. It’s a very busy tourist location, Galata Tower is your next door neighbor. Although it is a busy area, the street noise didn’t carry up to our room, even with the windows open, and we were able to get a good night’s sleep, but we only stayed for one night.

A comfortable bolt-hole for our city exploring. Maybe not for be spending great amounts of time in but its location is convenient and easy to find - either a very steep but short walk from Galata Bridge for the fit and energetic or an even shorter walk from Sishane on the level for those who aren't. Galata is a bohemian, gentle area that is buzzing with life until the small hours with street cafes, dancing and buskers. So some noise is potential for those staying but it is rarely overly intrusive or disruptive.

Hotel reception staff were massively helpful in arranging a full day tour for us and also booking us into a hammam that would serve men and women at the same time (in different parts of course). In fact, the hammam bath booking was done by a staff member on the morning of their day off - to which we were immensely grateful.

One small negative was the smell of stagnant drain water emitting from the bathroom. Nothing an open window, a bit of AC and closing the bathroom door couldn't solve it in a couple of minutes. Easily solved and only sleeping there so we didn't complain.

Overall for the views both from the room and the restaurant, the ease of finding it at the end of a long tiring day exploring, the great service from hotel staff it is a good choice for the active tripper. We would return.

My favorite hotel ever

We arrived after 3 am but the front desk staff was ready for us, and very accommodating (and they spoke perfect English). Our room was immaculate with views of the tower. Breakfast was delicious, with an incredible variety of Turkish breakfast foods, very similar to what we'd been served by our Turkish friends in their homes. And the VIEW from the 5th floor! Amazing, especially at sunset.
The neighborhood is filled with reasonably-priced shops & restaurants.
Can't say enough good things about this hotel. One of the finest we've ever stayed in. Hated to leave, but they also arranged punctual & friendly transport to Atatürk Airport when the time came.

Nice Hotel for Frequent Traveller

Traveling to Istanbul frequently, we need a hotel that has a good location, good facilities and reasonable price. Anemon easily fits all of our requirements. View of the Golden Horn and the old city skyline are astonishing. Even though we did not take advantage, their policy of checking out at the same time as check in is a plus If you check in at 6 o'clock pm, you can stay until 6 o'clock pm the next day. We hope to be back many more times in the future.

Good location but not so great experience.

We had a quick check-in and arrived to our room promptly.
The room was nice and spacious. The washroom was a bit weathered
and outdate, it did not have any fan, when turning on the tap the water
would often come in spats and make lots of noise, and the shower drain
would often keep the water stuck. The room had a busted ac/ heating system
making our room way to hot even in the dead set of winter. We couldn't sleep
without having the windows open. When we called reception the first night some
one came and pressed some buttons but nothing changed. We reported it the
second day when leaving to explore and they had told us they would turn it down, but
when we returned nothing felt different but tired to sleep through it anyways. We woke up
middle of the night sweating again, then called to reception and they again told us they would turn it down, after waiting an hour nothing felt different that we called again at least twice no one picked at reception when we had to physically do go downstairs and get someone to have a look. We asked to change the room which they said could be tomorrow, but they showed us other rooms that were worse off in condition. We did not stay in comfort to say the least because of the temperature issues in our room.

dont expect too much.
location near shisanne metro and taksim.
rooms are very compact and bathroom horrible.
in shower room if u move ,u will break your hand.
no room robe -no toothbrush-5 lira will be charged for every toothbrush.
staffs are very friendly and co -operative.
breakfast-horrible- view from the rooftop is amazing.but menue is only omlet ,sausage and -5 degrees milk with fruit .
cleanliness -only first day. from the next day you dont want to use the room

The hotel was is a good central location. As a solo female, I felt safe in the evening. The hotel itself is charming. The shower was a little older, the water didn't drain well and the shower head was tilted towards the wall. The electricity connection did not work one of the night but it was fixed promptly. There is a wine bar on the bottom floor which is charming and the few from the top floor lounge is amazing. Breakfast was good and included in my room rate. Overall good experience.

Charming, yet comfortable and functional hotel

Our room on the 3rd floor had a small balcony that faced the lovely plaza below, and the landmark Galati tower was but 50 meters from the balcony. For those who appreciate an accommodation that feels a bit like you really live in the city, even for one night only, this is a hotel that should make you feel this way.

The building is old, and though it was renovated in the last year or so, its interiors preserve the atmosphere from 20s-30s - many fine Art Deco artifacts, charming stairs, etc. Our room had at least 10 feet (3.5 meters) high ceillings with elaborate moldings and period furniture.

I am sure that some would say that our room was small, and so was the bathroom.
We did not mind it, it was clean, functional, shower and toilet worked just fine, and AC was strong enough to keep the room cool on the night when it was close to 30C outside.

The owner speaks fine English, and the staff, though not quite good in English, was doing their best to communicate with us. It was obvious that they care a lot about our experience.

We are 65+ years old couple, stayed on Aug. 28, 2015.

Old world feel.

Great old world atmosphere. You feel like you are in a nice boutique Hotel from 40 years ago. Fantastic location right beside the Galata Tower which is a trendy neighbourhood and all the sights are easily accessible. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant has a great view. I loved having my morning coffee up there. They could replace some of the carpeting.

The hotel is located literally in front of the Galata Tower, so even though not all taxi drivers knew the hotel, they knew right away how to get us there the moment we said \"Galata Kule\"!
We arrived at the K. Ataturk airport in Istanbul at 5:50 AM and our ground transportation service (Kamil Koc - highly recommended) dropped us off at the hotel at 7:05 AM. We asked the receptionist to place our luggage in storage until the 2:00 PM check in time, but he pleasantly surprised us by stating that our room was ready and if we wanted we were welcome to check in immediately! He even offered us free breakfast, although we were not entitled to it!
4 out of the 5 different receptionists we dealt with spoke English very well.
The free breakfast buffet is pretty decent and the views from the rooftop restaurant spectacular! Besides the typical spread of cereals, yogurt, bread rolls, olives, cheese, dried figs, coffee, orange juice, they offer eggs repared 3 different ways. Boiled (to your liking of hardness 3', 4', 5' or 6'), omelets (always overcooked) and \"menemen\" (a Turkish type of scrambled eggs with vegetables and tomatoes - absolutely delicious!!!)
The hotel's proximity to the Galata Tower has also its negative side - it's a hung out to people of every age group. During our first night, a few street musicians and their singing audience kept us up well past 2:30 AM. On our 3rd night, a city construction group started some sort of construction at 11 PM until 3:20 AM!!!

My husband I really enjoyed our stay at Anemon hotel! Firstly, the staff were extraordinarily accommodating and hospital from the moment of our arrival. We were in Istanbul for our honeymoon and they gave us a lovely room overlooking the Galata tower square. The decor is tastefully classic, art deco-like. I love the location of the hotel, right among the lovely Galata/Beyoglu neighborhood, which is lively with locals and tourists, restaurants, small shops, artsy life (but not overly tourist). The small Galata square is lively at night, with people often playing instruments, which we enjoyed, but the room felt really sound proof once closing the balcony doors, so the sound didn't bother us at all. The hotel's restaurant on the rooftop has some of the most incredible views of the city. The breakfast was good. Finally, I have to reiterate (and thank) the helpful staff - I had a situation where I left my identification card at the offices of a Bosphorus River tour the night before an early flight out of Istanbul. The staff made phone calls and emails and went above and beyond to help. I highly recommend staying at Anemon!

The restaurant on top has an amazing view and the breakfast was pretty decent.

Hotel premises was lovely. Staff was gracious and accommodating. We arrived at 8:30am after leaving our cruise ship. The Best Location

This hotel is a gem and met and exceeded my expectations for its convenience. It was easy to overlook a few minor things for all the hotel's upsides. The location, friendly and helpful staff, and the room made for a perfect stay. The views from the fifth floor restaurant are not to be missed. Great hotel, spoiled by restaurant staff

The hotel beside the Galata Tower is in a fantastic location. We booked a suite and were given a great one -room 302 - great view over the square. On the whole this room was pretty good, and very spacious. Towards the end of our stay the toilet drained got very smelly, and I feel something could have been done about that - although that said - we did not complain, and the cleaning staff were very friendly. Front desk staff Ahmet and Ezgi are simply fantastic. Ahmet is a top man and cannot do enough to make your stay very memorable. Ezgi even lent us a spare public transport top-up card of her own.
The Sensus(?) wine bar in the basement, accessible from the exterior as well, is fantastic. The views from the roof terrace are awesome, but then the problem starts. I noted that one other reviewer identified exactly the same problem. The female member if staff doing breakfasts is really surly, to the point of rudeness. If you are still in the restaurant by 10 00am, clearing up dishes is done so noisily, you are forced to leave. I told her and her colleague she was very pretty when she smiled, but needed to do it more often - and whilst her male colleague lightened up a bit, she became even more frosty. Evening staff in the roof terrace restaurant are better but still cold and distant, so you are disinclined to use such a fantastic facility.
Great hotel, great front desk staff, but such a pity about the restaurant staff and bad atmosphere they generate!

The best in Beyoglu

Get a glimpse of the vibrant night-life of Beyoglu by staying right next to Galata Tower. During breakfast you get an amazing view of Sultanahmet area. Rooms are a bit too dark and gloomy.

Great location!

If you want to experience all the night life and buzz of this exciting city then this is a great place to stay with fantastic views of the city.

It is easy to get to the tourist attractions.

I have marked this hotel negatively because the room we had wasn't big enough to swing a cat in however it had one of the best views you could ask. I saw another room which was bigger so clearly not all tiny but this was lacking the amazing view.

Reach Out and Touch the Galata Tower

The Anemon Hotel Galata offered a clean and quaint place to stay quite literally next to the Galata Tower. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side, but are well maintained. If you get a room with a view of the tower, it can fun, but it may come with street noise both at night with revelers and in the morning with the clean-up. The included breakfast plate was generous and the rooftop restaurant delivers amazing views of the tower as well as the Golden Horn. Overall, it was definitely a good value providing easy access to both the Old City, Istiklal Street and the metro.

I reserve this Hotel since I thought I made a good deal. Perhaps, I did but my main concern was about the room location. It was in the lower lever, not even in the 1st floor. The receptionist told me that they only committed to give me a room and if I like to get a better location, I need to pay extra, 30 Euro or so. I found this quite a greedy approach. Thus, my impression is that either they did not treat me fairly or the good sale means bad location and there is really no saving here. Other than that, everything was fine, the hotel location and its cleanness were good.

Amazing Rooftop View!

This little hotel is right next to Galata tower - right across the street! It's a quick walk to Istiklal Caddesi and the metro, plus great shopping all around the hotel. The restaurant on the top floor has an amazing view! The basement houses a wine cellar with great prices and lovely cheese plates.

Also, if I wanted to take the mattress with me. It was probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Every day woke up incredibly rested and ready to walk all around Istanbul again.

The hotel staff were wonderful and helpful, as well.

Great location!

The location of this hotel was great, near lots of restaurants, convenient to the tourist attractions, and to public transportation. The hotel seems to have deteriorated a bit and could use some freshening up. The first room they gave us had an odor and had not been cleaned very well. When we told them they moved us to another room that better but still not cleaned thoroughly. Other than that this hotel was perfect. Breakfast was convenient and filling and the staff was very helpful with directions and restaurant reservations.

Great location, great breakfasts, lax manaagement

This hotel has a wonderful location, right next to the Galata Tower on Galata Square. Wonderful view from the 6th floor terrace restaurant. We were disappointed with our particular view, however, which was not as requested, and looked directly onto the next building, with a depressing view of the alley! Our \"deluxe\" room for two people was provided with one drinking glass and one small bottle of water for our three day stay. Ice was not available, and English language television was also unavailable during our stay. We certainly felt that we did not get value for our room rate, which is a shame considering the great location and potential ambience of the property..

Great vacation hotel

This was a great hotel for our recent vacation to Istanbul. It's located right next to the famous Galata Tower and walking distance to great restaurants and nightlife. We chose to walk over the Galata Bridge every day to visit main tourist attractions, but you could easily take the tram as well. The breakfast was wonderful, with a wonderful view from the roof. The hotel staff was generally very friendly and helpful.

Very well located hotel

The hotel was clean but needs refurbishment. The rooms are very small and ours smelled like canalisation. The bed is very hard (some people like it that way but some dont). The breakfast is not worth getting up for since you get a plate with various things on it whether you like it or not (but to be fair, we did not ask to have our plate different). The location of the hotel is brilliant and good for cab drivers who dont speak english. The staff is nice, helpful and patient.

Under Galata Tower

The location of this hotel is hard to beat: it is literally under Galata Tower. It has a classy decor and very clean and well set up. The nice features include little step-on balconies in the rooms, and beautiful terrace, with a bar. Also, a cool wine store right in the basement -- easy to get an open bottle of wine into your room. Service is a bit impersonal, but attentive enough.

Location is incredible. Size of the room and comfort of the bed are fine. Carpet i,s very old and dirty. Bathroom is covered with mildew. View from the terrace is great but my coffee was served with spoiled milk, when I told the waiter he appolized and changed it right away.

Perfect boutique hotel in excellent location.

This fabulous little hotel is right next to the Galata tower. Our room was fresh and clean. The breakfast on the top floor of the hotel was exquisite - to match the view from up there. The people at the reception desk were friendly and knowledgeable; they gave us great advice about things to see and do. We recommend this hotel.

Perfect place to stay in Istanbul

10 of us staying at Anemon Hotel Galata in late September, 2011 and highly recommend that you do the same. The hotel is lovely, the staff friendly and extremely helpful, the breakfast amazing, the neighborhood fantastic, and the top floor restaurant/bar has perhaps the best view in all of Istanbul. We can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

Charming Istanbul

We highly recommend Istanbul and the Anemon Hotel Galata for those who are a little adventurous, and those who are not looking for the big fancy hotels with gyms, spas, and trendy restaurants. This is old Istanbul - artsy, charming and full of energy and life.
