A perfect location in my fav city, just a few metres off the galata drag so it's still quiet snd calm, while being in the middle of the action.
The breakfast is abundant, healthy, with a fantastic view. The staff here really go above and beyond to accommodate and be helpful. Some of the most genuine and kind people I have ever met. I recommend the airport transfer, about 10 euro more than a regular taxi, but worth at least upon arrival for a smoother experience.

You may not stay at the address you booked. We were travelling with another couple, booked at the same time, then placed at separate addresses. The breakfast site was beautiful on the roof. The location was close to Galata Tower.

Check-in was terrible. When we arrived, they said there was “a problem with our room” and we were instructed to go to another property, and then another property. We booked with our friends and they did nothing to try to accommodate us. The room was OK. The breakfast location was great, but it was not on the property we were staying at.

The hotel is perfectly located close to Galata Tower. The staff are friendly, and the view at breakfast was amazing. Our bedroom was large with a balcony. The hotel is in need of maintenence but is exceptional value for money. We would stay again.

Review is more about Meroddi in general.
On arrival at La Porta, after midnight, we were told we weren't staying there but had been moved to another Meroddi property close by. The upgrade to a 2 bedroom was appreciated.
Streets are cobblestone and taxis aren't always able to take you to the door. Our property had no lift, so be prepared to lug luggage up narrow often spiral stair cases.
Breakfast was great (although in another location).
Location is walking distance to Galata Tower, trams, food and shopping.

Our room was spacious and clean. The hotel is around the block from the Tower, which is nice and quiet. The tower area is vibrant and fun to be at night. A lot of restaurants, cafes and shops. We felt safe in the area. To get to the hotel we had be dropped off at the tower and walk to the hotel. It’s down an ally, the ally was dark and not clean, so it felt sketchy. At the end we liked being off the main road.

Unhelpful staff . Note that the “annex” is far from the hotel, has no lift looks to a service alley full of trash and the staff would not let us change rooms to the other building to have the family together . Had to make a new reservation . Terrible

We got a small room underground with our window facing a wall. The sheets were clean but pillows smelled bad and the window could not be completely closed. The staff though, was very kind and helpful.

Ideal location for young people/couples to stay. The city was busy, the views around were good plus good restaurant options - walkable distance from tram to get to anywhere you’d want to go in Istanbul.

The staff was super friendly, especially Sevgi from guest relations was super helpful and catering. Greeted me and my partner with amazing decor and postcards with complimentary refreshments.

Hello, I like this property because was close to Galatta Tower, my favorite place in Istambul. I like the shopping and dinning. It is wonderful. The hotel inside is quiet and safe. Breakfast very good. Staff at the reception was the best, they do the best to make you comfortable. Maintenance staff was very nice and same staff at breakfast time. I will reserve this place again if I travel. I did not like outside because street was not clean. Thank you so much Meroddi La Portal. Maria Egoavil

Awesome customer service

We had an awesome stay in this hotel.
Thanks to Reha in the front desk who went above and beyond in customer service in our 3 night stay. On our last day, he helped me and my wife dragged our luggage to the end of the street because the taxi cannot enter the street at that time.
Breakfast is delicious and the view from the restaurant at the 5th floor is beautiful.

Excellent stay at Meroddi La Porta

Superb stay at Meroddi La Porta. It is a great value given the wonderful service from the staff, who really looked after us (thank you Umil and Cagatay!), the incredible proximity to Galata Tower (literally around the corner), and the comfortable (small) rooms and wonderful and scenic breakfast. We wanted to stay very close to the tower and not spend too much and are very happy to had found this hotel and would recommend it highly. This neighborhood has a lot of cobblestones and hills and requires normal walking ability. The street itself is small and a bit alley-like, but the location around the corner from Galata square makes it a superb value.

Comfortable option in Beyoglu

Modern, comfortable and clean hotel located just a few hundred meters from Galata Tower (the street it is on is not very charming, but the area is!).
Breakfast buffet is offered on the terrace: nice views, but a little chilly in the cold months.

I didn't need to have much interaction with the staff, but they seemed friendly. However, when I asked about the closest airport bus stop and how to reach the hotel from it, they answered that they could arrange a private transfer for me. Not what I asked!!
Other than that, I had a pleasent stay.

The staff at Merrodi was extremely friendly. We reserved a double room but were upgraded to a suite, and our stay was perfect. It is right opposite the galata tower, and has many tourist attractions nearby, the location is perfect.

部屋は半地下二階でしたが、湿気もなく、清潔でした。
スタッフは気さくで親切でした。
朝食は彩りキレイで種類も多く味もまずまず。ビュッフェの飾り付けをシェフが毎日写真に撮っているので相当なこだわりがあるのでしょう。
この宿泊料金で、本当にこの長所が込みなのか心配になりましたが大丈夫でした。ダイニングは5階で、夜は開放されているので夜景がきれいです。
新市街のガラタ塔至近なので周辺の雰囲気、利便性も最高です。1本だけ奥にはいるので前は寂しいですが、安全性は問題ありません。

La ubicación del hotel es muy conveniente para recorrer la ciudad, a pocos metros de la Torre Gálata, el personal fue amable en dar sugerencias y orientacione sobre los sitios a visitar; el desayuno es muy variado y ofrecido en una terraza con hermosas vistas del cuerno de oro y la ciudad.

Unterkunft in einer Nebenstraße zum Galata-Turm. Während die Hauptstraße abends brechend voll wird, bleibt diese zum Glück recht leer. Vor dem Hotel sind jedoch oft Lieferwägen und Einheimische bis spät in die Nacht. Ein paar Meter weiter befinden sich zahlreiche Mülltonnen, die wohl zu den vielen Restaurants gehören. Da kommt zwischen 5 und 6 Uhr morgens die Müllabfuhr und sammelt den Müll ein. Da wir das Zimmer zur Straße hatten und ein Fenster nicht ganz dicht war, haben wir alles Recht laut gehört. Auch die Türen und Wände sind recht hellhörig.

Das Zimmer war super. 2 Flaschen Wasser, Tee und Instant Kaffe waren vorhanden.

Highlight dieses Hotels ist meiner Meinung nach das Frühstück im obersten Stock. Mit hervorragendem Ausblick und einer guten Auswahl an Speisen.

Das Personal war immer super nett.

Insgesamt definitiv zu empfehlen.

Bizi uygulamadan tuttuğumuz oda yerine yine aynı firmanın farklı bir otelinde ki odaya (Bağdatliyan'a) yönlendirdiler. Bizim tuttuğumuz odadan daha eski ve bakımsız odada kalmak zorunda kaldık. Farklı binadaki odayı bizim için ayarladiklarini söyleyerek elimizde valizle 3 bina dolaşmaktık. Binalar hep yokuşta olduğu için baya rezillikti. Oda çok karanlık ve boğucuydu. Kahvaltısı idare ederdi.

La calle demasiado sucia y huele mal, el día que nos íbamos le pedimos al de la recepcion nos pidiera un taxi para el aeropuerto de istambul, no sé qué le diría al taxista pero nos llevó a otro aeropuerto que según le dijo q era ese tuvimos q regresarnos y llegar casi justo al chequeo al final
Nos cobraron aproximadamente 100 euros la gracia de la carrera lo único bueno del hotel es la ubicación. De resto nada que ver con las fotos está muy deteriorado

Muy mala , al llegar no tenían habitación para mi me mandaron a un nuevo hotel de su cadena. Al momento se hacer el check-in en este segundo hotel . Me mandaron a un tercer edificio con habitaciones más.
En cuanto el desayuno tenía que tomarlo en el hotel donde hice el checking.
Estaba muy cansado y me toco aceptar todo ese inconveniente.

Das Hotel ist zwar sehr zentral aber befindet sich in einer dunklen Seitenstraße wo auch kein Taxi durchkommt. Das Personal war sehr nett uns zuvorkommend. Frühstückauswahl war sehr gut. Zimmer sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber waren völlig in Ordnung und sauber.

Resepsiyonda 'Murat Bey' karşıladı. Güler yüzlü ve sıcak bir karşılama yaptı. Murat Bey'e hangi sıkıntı ile gitsek bize yardımcı oldu. Öncelikle Murat Bey'e teşekkür ederim.

Odamızın, günlük temizliği yapıldı. Genel itibari ile temizdi. Tek sıkıntı klima motor sesi biraz yüksekti.

Kahvaltı konusunda açık büfe kahvaltı seçenekleri iyiydi.

Otelin konumu Galata Kulesi'ne mesefasi çok yakın, Eminönü ve İstiklal Caddesine yakındı.

Meroddi bünyesinde olan diğer otelde 'Barnathan Otel' akşam yemeği yiyebilirsiniz. Manzarası şahane. La Porta otelden gittiğiniz zaman ilk alkolsüz içecekler ücretsiz ve yemekte %10 indirimden faydalanabilirsiniz.

Burada tek bir sıkıntı yaşadık. İlk gün otel müşterisi olduğumuzu söylemeyi unuttuk. Yemek ücretlerimizi ödedik. İkinci gün tekrardan gittiğimizde otel müşterisi dediğimizde bizdeb ayrıca servis ücreti alındı. Bu duruma şaşırdık. Ve Ön Büro Müdürü 'Şenol Bey' ilettik. Durumla ilgilendi. Kendisine de teşekkür ederiz.

Otelin çatı katındaki odada kaldık.oda biraz küçük ama balkonu olması çok güzeldi. Bizim kaldığımız odanın balkonundan galata kulesi kısmen gözüküyordu.yan odanin balkonu baya net görüyor. Kahvaltı çok güzeldi kapalı balkonlu muhtesem deniz manzarası bizi cok memnun etti. Bu arada otelin konumu çok iyi. Galata kulesinin arka sokağında kaldık resmen.
