I Wouldn't Not Sleep Here Again
The property is in a mix-use zone in the electrical industrial district behind Galata. Although the location is okay it lends itself to disappointment, there are derelict warehouses adjacent the hotel that were used for all-night raves so the noise & sound of BASS thumping all night. The following night there was no water in the hotel with no communication from staff even though they knew about this prior to the water supply being cut.

This hotel was a great find. It’s in a slightly unconventional area - the area is surrounded by electrical shops by day and interesting street art on the shop shutters at night. It’s only a 7-10 minute walk from both Galata Tower and Karakoy tram stop. It makes a refreshing change from the overpriced Sultanahmet area.
There are some cheap but excellent eating places near the hotel as well as some new trendy coffee shops springing up.
The rooms are modern and a little quirky in design. The bed is extremely comfortable and has good quality linens - all perfect after a hard days sightseeing.
There are tea and coffee facilities in the room as well as free WiFi.
The bathrooms too are modern and spotlessly clean, mine had a large rainfall shower.
Breakfast is typically Turkish with cold meat, cheeses, olives, breads, tomatoes as well as a selection of hot foods such as sausage and borek pastries. It’s great for free and sets you up for the day.
I would happily recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again. Soon hopefully.

I would highly recommend staying at the Vavien Hotel. First of all, the staff are incredibly kind, and tremendously helpful. The rooms are very comfortable, and quiet. The daily breakfast is great too, with a nice selection of different options. The location is within walking distance to many different places, such as Galata Tower, Istiklal Street, Galata Bridge, Istanbul Modern, Shishane & Karakoy Metro Stations, and more.

This hotel was just fine. It was very close to the metro and the tram, so it was a good location to get around to restaurants, nightlife and all the tourist sites. Transit is suggested as maps don't show you all the hills! But it's easy and cheap. Hotel staff were nice and provided all the basics. The only trouble we had was that our room key kept deactivating...and if i could make a suggestion, I would ask if the breakfast menu could have some variations since it was the same simple breakfast every day. But it kept us fed and it was included so it wasn't too bad. It was a good simple place that had everything we needed :)

I again returned to the Vavien Hotel. I found the manager . Receptionists. Housekeeping . Staff. To be friendly . Warm .and sincere in there guests welfare. Happiness and comfort . Furing their stay. The hotel is clean.bright. although in a industrial .area is calm peaceful . Breakfast is fresh. And has a variety to suit all . Free tea coffee chocolate etc are available 24 hours a day. The rooms are spacious clean and comfortable. The hotel is minutes from the metro. Ferry and bus stations. To all of the sights of Istanbul . The price of the room with the amazing staff and breakfast is excellent value . I can recommend this hotel .100 percent

There are lots of noises in the neighborhood, one Night there was a club nearby that played loud music from 2.30 am to 5.30am what it worst, the loud music from the club clashed with the call of prayer from the mosque. One other night there was a full road works outside the hotel from 1am to about 3 am.
First I was allocated an adjoining room as I can hear everything from the other room, I moved to the non adjoining room but still can hear everything.

Our 1st day was disaster and the rest was normal.We arround midnight.They gave us one room but full of hairs on the ground and sheets.There was a club somewhere near the hotel, very noisy especially the bass.We could stand until 3am then asked for new room..The AC were noisy.The staffs are really helpful, breakfast was quite good..Reccommanded for those who searc cheap and local hotels in Istanbul..

Good value, <10 minutes to Istikal and tram
A very clean, basic hotel close enough to the tourist stuff but quiet at night. Compared to places in the Old Town, there are absolutely no touts or tourist hustlers here. Hardware shops and a few simple eateries surround the hotel -- It is close to the tourist and shopping areas but absolutely is not in one. You can walk about 6-8 minutes uphill to get to Istikal, downhill to get to the tram. Maybe 5 minutes to Galata tower. Breakfast is not great but you can go eat at one of the many cafe's on Istikal anyway.

Me and my young family had a perfect time at this hotel. The staff, reception, manager and cleaning staff were absolutely amazing. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It was like a second home. Clean and new. A peaceful nights sleep. Lovely showers. Amazing location, right next door to a very yummy Turkish restaurant that is on your right as you exit the hotel. I will definately come Back here again. Everyone was so kind and helpful. staff speak English amongst other languages which is useful. They advised us on where to go and what to see. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Best hotel in the Galata area.

Für den Preis ist es eine ordentliche mit gutem Gewissen empfehlenswerte Hotel . Ich meine ordentlich , sauber , klimatisiert genügend definitiv . Klima war top hat funktioniert einizige kleine Sache entweder haben wir es nicht hin bekommen oder hatten Probleme mit dem Kühlschrank . Insgesamt 4 Personen 2 getrennte Zimmer war ausreichend und top ich muss wircklich sagen nochmals Sauber! Alles lag wircklich sehr nah . Ich muss aber sagen als Frau alleine würde ich da nicht gerne rum laufen mit Begleitung ist es im Ordnung .

Erste Reise nach Istanbul
Die Herren an der Rezeption sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben ein Standard-Doppelzimmer gebucht. Beim Check-In wurde uns dann gesagt dass wir ein gratis Upgrade in eine Suite mit Balkon bekommen haben. Das Hotel liegt in einer Seitegasse etwas ab vom Schuss, aber in ca. 10-15min Fußweg ist man bei der Galata-Brücke und auch die U-Bahn ist nicht weit weg.
Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden. Wenn wir Istanbul nochmal besuchen, werden wir sicher wieder im Vavien-Hotel ein Zimmer buchen.

Новый отель недалеко от Галатской башни и одноименного моста. Находится посредине основной оживленной трассы и светиться вывеской. Ориентир - уличное кафе и можно сразу поворачивать. Найти удалось быстро. Без такси. На трамвае доехать до моста и пешком.
Отель новый, соответствует описанию. Завтрака нет. В период моего проживания было тихо. Все в пешей доступности. До башни 5 минут ходьбы, если идти переулками.
Один недостаток - хотели поселить в более дешёвый номер. Сообщил об этом - поменяли сразу. Ошибка или трюк. Не знаю. В номере есть все необходимое. И сейф. Цена номера адекватная.
