We now stay at this hotel 4 times and we just love By murat Royal hotel as is very convenient close to the Galata tower just 80 meters. Staff is very helpful and room are clean. basic Amenities but that’s okk. We recommend other travellers to stay there

This is our second time at Royal By Murat. So convenient at it is located 50 mt from
The Galata Tower in a very quite street. Shop are around the corner. Easy to walk to the mosque and the main attractions in Istanbul. We are going back again. Staff is nice and helpful. Thank you

Pictures are a lie as this property is running a scam, mattress was recovered from trash as it was covered in red stains and black ash (probably from smoking). Bathroom has awful smell. The rooftop brings in an immense amount of dust into the room which caused my skin to itch really badly. No elevator, 4 flights of stairs

If you want to stay in a great location with limited budget, this place is great. It’s just a few steps away from the Galata tower and everything else such as shops and restaurants. The room is nice and clean. Suat, the front desk person, is very courteous, helped me with useful information and transportation. I recommend this place and I would go back.

Good clean rooms, convenient location to Gallata tower, and transit to other tourist sites. Excellent value for money. Kind, friendly, and very helpful staff. We ended up having travel problems and the staff made a room available for us to stay longer at the last minute, as our travel plans kept changing. Thanks so much. 10/10

can be considered if you are looking for a one night stay. we stayed as a couple due to bad weather. Overall it was ok. Hotel price is quite low considering others in the same area. So dont expect too much. Would be nice if it was cleaner but was not too bad.
One + is the location.

They have swapped signs and according to hotel.com bookings are non refundable. It's extortion and lies then they have your money. They offered my money back after i said illl fight them for it. but the country is a joke they are all dishonest scammers. Only book with agoda in turkey and see the places in person first or you are getting online lies and dirty theft. Not worth a visit.

The room was awesome for us two and we really enjoyed our stay there. The location is also great. We had a little difficulty finding the hotel as we followed the walking route that Google Map planned and the hotel's info on GM was not accurate or up-to-date (the location and the phone number, fyi).

Bad experience.

I did not stay at all because I checked out just after i saw the room. Hotel manager refused to refund the booking money, or changing my booking room or providing any receipt that i was leaving. Dirty room, full of dust and mosquitos.

The staff makes this place!! They are amazingly helpful and will go way above and way beyond what's expected to ensure you have everything you need and that you're well looked after. I had the top room - 107 (there's no lift, but the lovely staff offered to take my bags up there but i was travelling light so it's ok) and it was super bright had a balcony and had a great view of the Galata tower. The room is super clean and smelt fresh, it is very bright and the bathroom is big and clean too! The don't offer breakfast but did supply tea and coffee.
The location of the hotel is very central with Karakoy ferry, tram and buses close by, Sisane metro is also close. The surrounding area has a lot of great little cafes and places open til late so i didn't ever feel unsafe to go home late (travelling as a single female). And it's literally a 3 minute walk from Galata tower. For the price you are getting an amazing amazing place to stay! I would stay there again for sure.
A small sthg - taxi's don't like getting too close to the hotel itself because all the streets are one way and there are those teeth things that burst your tyre if you go over them the wrong way - it was only an issue once I had to leave to the airport with luggage factor in more time or walk down to a main street otherwise really is a non-issue.

GREAT: Staffs were super nice. Eager to assist us in anyway they can. LOVE them.
GOOD: Hotel is near Galata Tower. You can walk and sightsee around.
BAD: No room service at all so our bed wasn't made. The sheets and towels weren't changed. Although we never tamper with the big window in the room, it was wide open when we came back to the room in the evening and little bugs were flying in our room...
Also, the place has no elevator so if you are given the room on 4th or 5th floor, like we did, you have to climb the stairs...
Also, no breakfast...

A lovely SMALL hotel (7 rooms) literally steps from Galata Tower. Hard to find with GPS, so just have the taxi drop you off at the tower and walk down the side street to the hotel. The owner, Nesh, was very personable and professional and had tea and coffee available everyday. We had great conversations and he helped me with my rudimentary Turkish! There was coffee/tea/ and water in the room as well as a mini fridge. The hotel is under construction, so there were some Wi-Fi issues during my stay. No elevator, so beware if traveling with a lot of luggage or if you use a wheelchair/walker. The bed was extremely comfortable! No breakfast provided, but plenty of inexpensive and yummy places to eat around the hotel/tower. Loved all the boutique shopping in the area and the hustle and bustle of Galata Tower. Relatively close to the subway too.

Perfect location!

I was very impressed with the hotel, I think the best part about it was its central location, right in the heart of the city. About 2 minutes away from Galata Tower, Istiklal Street, and about a five minute walk to the tram. The staff was very nice and the rooms were always cleaned. I enjoyed the rooftop of the hotel that came along with breathtaking views of the city and the delicious breakfast that was served there too! All in all, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Great hotel, great staff, great deal

First time in Istanbul, and this hotel was very conveniently located. The other By Murat hotel listed here is adjacent, and nearly identical, so you're safe booking either one. Don't be put off by reviews of the street; yes the backstreets are a little dirty, but that's a lot of the city. For the price and location you can't beat this. Beautiful view from the rooftop with breakfast. If there's one thing to watch out for it's that the narrow streets around Galata Tower are hard to access by car, so a driver might drop you off by the tower and you'd have to walk around. However that's a very minor inconvenience given the overall value, and it really depends on the mood of the driver.
Friendly staff, hot shower, clean rooms, wifi, beautiful views, and walking distance to the more interesting areas of the city. Great experience overall.

Cosy boutique Ottoman style Hotel.

The Hotel is really lovely with a roof terrace looking over the Golden Horn .Comfortable bedroom, roomy shower, nicely furnished. Very pleasant helpful and friendly staff. Very nice breakfast.
The only reason that I would not recommend the Hotel is because of its location. In terms of proximity to shops, nightlife and Istanbul's transport system, the hotel is GREAT. However, the road leading to the ByMurat is very steep so if you have mobility problems this would be an issue. It also rained whilst we were there, so the road had a torrent of water cascading down it which made it very slippery coming down. Also the top of the road seems to function as a rubbish dump so on our arrival the road was blocked by a dust cart and large builders bags full of rubbish. Every evening it was the same-full of rubbish and broken glass. Every morning it was all cleaned up. We loved the hotel but the above issues did spoil it a little which is a real shame because it is a lovely hotel.

The hotel was good, they have receptionist 24 hours and every day makes the beds and clean bathroom (and towels). The only negative point was the hotel are in a elevated street and if you have injuries in legs or kness, maybe should search another option. For the rest, is perfect, great location and good service (with english).

Çok zorda kalınmazsa tercih edilmez.

Odada lamba yok, yatak kenarındaki bir abajur çalışıyordu onu yakabildik en sonunda. Taharet musluğu bozuk, iki saat kapatmaya uğraştık, en son biraz hızını kesebildik. Banyo ile tuvalet alanını ayıran bir perde yok, ufacık bi cam var o da iş görmüyor, her yer su oluyor. Kağıt terlikle orada giyinmek geçmek çok zor. Klima var ama sadece on off yapıyor, ısıtma filan kesinlikle olmuyor, her modu ve ayarı defalarca denedim. Pencereler hava ve ses geçiriyor, nisan ayında olmamıza rağmen soğuktu, oğlum üşümesin diye sabaha kadar üstünü kontrol etmekten uyuyamadım.

Fiyatına göre memnun kaldığım bir konaklama idi. Konumu güzeldi. Eksiklerinden bahsetmem gerekirse, Odanın bir çok detayı çok tozluydu. Temizliklerin detaylı yapıldığını düşünmüyorum.
İki otel ortak sanırım, resepsiyonun olduğu binanın yanında başka bir binada konakladık ve güvenlik yoktu.

Hallo, also wenn man die Lage beachtet ist es sehr gut.
Zum Zustand von Hotel eine reine Katastrophe, es gibt laut angebot ein Zimmer Service der aber bei uns nie im Zimmer war, seid Tag 1 gleiche Bett Wäsche und Handtücher. Nachdem wir an der Rezeption nachgefragt hatten wegen Zimmer Service und Handtücher hieß es wird gleich kommen aber es kam die ganzen Tag nichts, also sind wir nur 1 Duschen gegangen in 7 Tage Aufenthalt.
Zimmer sehr dreckig und mit genommen. Überall sind schimmeln, Duschrinne und die Wand in der Dusche kaputt.
Kann es nur jemanden empfehlen der nur abends kurz zum schlafen da ist.

Giriş saatinden 1.5 saat sonra odamıza girebildik. Gördüğüm en kötü ısıtıcıya sahip, resepsiyona giren çıkan belli değil. Tuvalet temiz değildi, çarşaflarda lekeler vardı. Personel ilgiliydi. Otelin tek güzel yanı konumu ve fiyatı olabilir.

bu sebeple geri ödeme seçeneği yoksa otel kesin sorunludur.

Das einzige Einzigartige war Hotellage,
die Bilder auf den Portalen haben einige Jahre hinter sich, als Hotel hat es aber gut gedient, Armaturen im Bad voll mit Kalk, Kühlschrank im Zimmer hat gestunken bis es nicht mehr geht, danke aber nie wieder ..
Angeblich hatte ich mit Frühstück gebucht, davon wusste keiner was...
Das nächste Mal sicher irgendwo anders

The bathroom was very dirty, the bed had like sand inside, which fell every 10-15 minutes from the ceiling.

Within 3 days, the room service came only once, when we asked for it and while asking, the staff looked at us as if he was bothered.

The light of the room wasnt working well, so the room was very dark. All in one just not recommendable at all.

Personel yardımcı ve işini düzgün yapıyor. Konum ulaşım ve merkezilik özellikleriyle büyük avantaj sağlıyor fakat semtte akşamları tekin tipler olmuyor. Bu sorun otel ve oda için güvenlik sorunu yaratmıyor. Odaların ses yalıtımı neredeyse sıfırdı, ses geçirgenliği büyük bir sorun. Havlular yatak, oda eşyaları ve banyo temizdi fakat duşakabin yoktu ve bataryalar eskiydi. Temizlik konusunda memnun kaldım. Odada TV, klima, su ısıtıcı, kıyafet askılı dolap, kasa ve minibar(boş) vardı. Ses sıkıntısı ve oda konumu kötü olmasa çok daha iyi puanlı bir değerlendirme olurdu. Fiyatı iyi olmasa tercih eder miydim bilmem.
