Our room was excellent, but the whole vibe of this place is so sweet! They have popcorn, cookies and hot chocolate out for apres ski. Everyone hangs out in the commons area in front of a cozy fireplace. They have yummy food and drinks too! Their hot tub is hot and it’s the perfect place to heat up after a chilly day on the mountain! I’ll be coming back!

This was the highlight lodging in a 10 day road trip. Beautiful view, friendly and helpful staff. Cozy, warm atmosphere. It felt like being at home with friends. Close enough to Glacier national park that we hiked 2 days instead of 1. Will definitely be back to ski in winter!!

The most disappointing stay

As an elderly couple checking in to a hotel that we have paid over $200 to stay we would expect an elevator to get us to our floor but no we had to use stairs. The front desk person was kind enough to carry our luggage to our room.

The room he assigned us to had a horrible smell to it. I could not stay there so I walked down to stairs to request another room. He gave us another room and it did not smell.

As we settled in to sleep there was a strange loud humming that continued for a couple of hours. Then a drumming noise started after that.

At 3 am we decided to get up and leave the hotel. My husband was going to take a quick shower to wake him and the tub/shower faucet did not work. We just got dressed and left. Of course he had to carry our luggage down the stairs.

It definitely not what we were expecting.

The hotel had only 1 handicap parking space & 1 handicap room. No elevator for the 3 floors of hotel. Only 1 ice machine on the lobby floor which was down 49 steps and back up 49 steps to a third floor room. The hallways and entrances on the floors were not clean and the Wellness area was only clean in the restrooms & hot tub area. The breakfast offered was in a nook area and difficult for guests to move through.

We loved the room and the property. My issue is with management. I was in the hot tub area and sat in a chair out there and it collapsed on me. It tore into my back and elbow and I needed bandaids the rest of my stay to not get blood on the sheets. I hand bruises all over too. Management never once asked if I was ok or even asked me anything. They replaced the rest of the chairs out there so they know it happened. Otherwise the bed and room were great. It's crazy a plane as nice as this can't get good chairs that can support someone.

I encountered an issue with my Expedia booking, as I had reserved a room with more than three beds. Upon arrival, the room only had two beds, and the front desk initially stated that this was reflected in my order. Despite presenting my reservation confirmation, the situation was eventually resolved through a room exchange with a friend, and the reception staff were ultimately quite helpful.

We stayed here in the summer for our Anniversary.
1st the Pros:
Its a beautiful drive up and down the mountain. The hotel is lovely overall. Everything is so clean. All the staff we encountered were nice and helpful. Large hotub. The continental breakfast was good for what it was. Apples, oranges, pastries, bread, bagels, english muffins, cereal, oatmeal, sliced meat and cheese, milk, juice and coffee.
The Cons:
When we booked it, the map showed it was in the middle of Whitefish, but when we got there it was 10mins outside of town and up the mountain. I missed that somehow in the details I guess.
There is only about 6 or 7 parking spots in front, otherwise you have to park across the street and down the hill. This was difficult for me with my health issues, but it wasn't too terrible.
When you walk in- there is a weird smell, it's difficult to explain, like old-smelling (but the entire hotel is very clean)
There is no elevator in the hotel so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs (the hotel offers help carrying luggage if you need it). I'm unsure how anyone in a wheelchair would get around this. The hotel could use an update.
There was a deeper smell in our room. We opened the window to let fresh air in and kept it open.
The room is a bit smaller than we expected from looking at pics.
There was either mold, or stains that look like mold on the bathroom ceiling.
We would definitely stay here again though. It was a lovely time.

However if we would have stayed in whitefish (vs in the mountains past whitefish) we would have had much better cell reception with Att
It was nice but in the summer there’s not much to do here on the property. Should have save the travel time and stayed in whitefish or Kalispell or any town closer to glacier NP

We had an incredible stay at Kandahar Lodge and can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere throughout our visit.

The location is perfect—just a short walk to the base of the mountain where we enjoyed hiking, biking, and the scenic chairlift to the top with stunning views of Whitefish and the lake. The mountain also offers a free shuttle to town, which made getting around super convenient.

The highlight of our stay was without a doubt Buchanan’s Chophouse. We ended up dining there daily—the food was consistently excellent, the outdoor patio was perfect, and the service was top-notch. Huge thanks to James, the owner, who personally made us feel at home, and TJ, the bartender, who served up amazing drinks and great conversation.

This lodge offers the perfect balance of adventure, comfort, and hospitality. We’re already looking forward to coming back this winter to ski and wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

The front desk staff at check in was not very helpful. She made it seem that my questions were not important and that we were wasting her time. When booking the hotel, many of the pictures were misleading. There is no “spa”, no slide and made seem like glacier was out the door. Also, we were there for 2 days and when wanting the restaurant, we were told it was closed due to a special event. Asked to get pizza and were refused.

This was a great place to stay for my time in Whitefish. Location was close enough to get to stuff fairly quickly but not too close to be a problem with crowds. It was clean and outside was very nice. Hot tub outdoors was good too. Breakfast offered multiple options and was replenished quickly if needed but also put away right on time so get it in the time frame specified. All the workers were very nice and helpful with any questions. I booked early in offseason so not sure what rates would have been in July but I was pleased and would recommend for anyone considering.

AVOID FOR GOD SAKE!!! The room had smoke smell with poor sheets. Bathtub was clogged and no action was taken in spite of reporting the problem. Constant noise of pipes and ducts. Breakfast was horrible and hairdryer wasn’t working. Overall not worth the money. AC was making noise and could not sleep the entire night. Not worth the money and national park lodges are much cheaper and cleaner. I would highly suggest to avoid.

Off the beaten path in summer. Maybe nice as a ski lodge but in summer it just feels worn out. Hallway carpets are a mess, rooms are musty. You can hear neighbors on either side easily.

I was very disappointed in Kelly at the front desk. She did tell me I was too early to check in 1:30 pm and I could relax in the lobby, which I did. She told me she'd get me as soon as my room was ready. I saw Kelly leave at 3:05 Pm and a new you man take over the desk. I walked up and he told me mine and all rooms where ready. Hence - Kelly just left me sitting and was only focused on when she got off of work for the day!

The check in didn’t provide much information but the shuttle drivers were full of great information about the skiing, the lodge and things to do in town. Chris and Blake knew all the best stuff. The lodge had great amenities like massage and hot tub which we enjoyed after skiing into and out of the lodge for full days on the slopes.

We loved our stay here. The lodge is adorable and perfect for a ski getaway. Breakfast is high quality and better than most continental breakfasts. My kids loved the mini Nutella spreads. The rooms were perfect and as described. The resort was true ski in ski out and they also offered a convenient shuttle to the base lodge. Hot chocolate and popcorn snack was an awesome bonus every afternoon. We will definitely consider coming back.

Really enjoyed my stay here.
The fireplace was always being tended to.
The breakfast hours and selection were good. Hot chocolate,cookies and popcorn after returning from snowboarding all day was chef's kiss. The hot tub was huge and steam room were amazing to relax in.
The rooms were spacious. Shower pressure great and hot water that did not run out.
Full size coffee maker in our room was nice!
Beds were comfortable with extra pillows.
Having a ski room (for equipment) was top tier! And ski in ski out!!! ❤️ Dan at the front desk was extremely helpful.
