Clean room and hotel. Noisy if you’re on the main floor. The didn’t replenish everything when they came in to clean. Restaurant was expensive and it took forever to get our waters refilled. We weren’t skiers or hot tubers yet paid mandatory fees beyond the Expedia price for those. Probably won’t stay there again.

The staff are incredible as usual. We stay here several times a year and are always made to feel welcome. Everyone from the front desk staff who are quick with a smile to the competent and friendly bartender right down to support staff who eagerly offer to help brush snow off your vehicle. Rooms are always clean with ample pool towels. Love this place!

Before dinner, we all enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. It’s huge and being outside makes it more fun.

They provide earplugs in case you want them. Was a great stop on our way to Glacier the next morning. About 35 minutes away.

We really enjoyed our stay. Took advantage of the bike loaners and rode around Whitefish a bit. The hotel is well situated to take advantage of the town. We went into Glacier NP mostly during our stay, so we didn't get back in time to enjoy the restaurants in town. The hotel restaurant is very nice with a pleasant view of the golf course. We enjoyed the hottub as well!

Front desk staff was excellent, very friendly. Husband had an odd encounter with a gal in the bar, possibly hostess? They had closed already and the front desk had him go to the bar to ask her for ketchup (I forgot to ask at McDonald’s for my daughter, we didn’t get in until after 9:15 checked in and then ran to grab quick easy food as my daughter had a soccer game early the next day), the lady in the bar/restaurant area was very rude to him and said “the bar is closed!!” He explained he was just looking for ketchup packets and she responded “the kitchens closed, can’t help you.” Just didn’t seem very hospitable, a friendly sorry I can’t help you we’ve closed for the evening, or a hey let me see if I can find something real quick would have been nice. Otherwise the rest of our stay was very pleasant.

There are quite a few shops, restaurants and other businesses that are nearby; however, downtown Whitefish seems to be a little sparse in the area of available parking spaces. The area outside Grouse Mountain Lodge is definitely on the quiet side, with the exception of the local train that goes by periodically. Kind of reminded me of home as I have a train within 100 yards of my home.

However the interior of the hotel in every aspect is crying for renovation . The mattress and pillows were not comfortable either.
Otherwise it was an oaky hotel. Sorry this is not a 4/5 star and the price is not justified.

The room cleaning was not done in a four night stay. Waste was full and never emptied, towels were not refreshed, we made the bed, room was not vacuumed, and sinks were not cleaned. We always tip for this service, but not this stay. We did tip for other services.

Starting with check-in, we were told three times that we were \"an hour early\" (check-in is 4pm, we thought it was 3pm, so, ok, our bad...but their curt response, multiple times, was excessive). Having some time to kill, we decided to get a drink at the bar...only to find the bar was closed; how is the bar at a historic, resort property closed in the middle of the afternoon?

Later, when we were able to get into our room, we found a used band-aid on the bathroom floor.

We went into town for dinner...upon our return we were looking forward to a night-cap on their patio; we asked a server if that area was in her section, she asked us if \"we had a reservation?\" No, we just wanted a drink. She then simply told us to \"check at the host stand.\" So, we went to the host stand...after a few minutes someone came to us and said, \"Do you have a reservation?\" Uh, no, we just wanted to get drinks for the patio. We were directed to get drinks at the bar (now open) and take them outside. There was only one bartender to serve the whole restaurant and lounge, so it took quite a while to get our drinks.

No \"Hello, welcome!\" or \"How are you?\" \"First time here?\" Nothing. No welcome of any kind. Uncaring service where we felt we were inconveniencing the staff...a thoroughly disappointing experience...and waste of money.

I had to leave immediately upon arrival due to my son having difficulty breathing and head to the nearest emergency room in Cranbook BC, CAN. I informed front desk staff, of my medical dilemma, asked for a refund, and was told that i would have to take it up with 3rd party booking company. and i was only going to be charged 1 night of the 2 nights. i was there less than 2 hrs total and had to pay for 2 nights because according to 3rd party booking company, the manager on duty at the hotel would not issue any refund.nor has the 3rd party company issued the refund. that is complete insanity to charge me for not staying there!!!
