This is our 5th year returning to Santiago bay resort, It is always our go to when we are visiting family on the island. It was obvious this time that the storms have done damage to the whole area, not has many beach activities as before, however, we had the most amazing coffee and floats at one of the beachside vendors. We love the staff, the location, the beautiful beach and will continue to come each year.

Great location, everything you need right their . Had a couple of issuse of no water in room but staff were quick to fix. Great staff always offering anything you need without asking
Beach access amazing and beach pristine. Food and drinks at restaurant top notch great friendly service. We had a great massage in massage room prices are very good for everything. The Comotes islands are the cleanest island i have visited in the Philippines. Streets to cities are amazingly clean, great job everyone we will return. Almost forgot fron staff very helpful.

Probably the best place to stay on the island. Very affordable, with a great Santiago Bay view.
We stayed 5 days and would definitely go back. Even at low tide the beach is awesome. Nice morning walks on the sand, and great afternoon swims when the tide comes in.
Great restaurants near the hotel, plus the hotel serves great food.
Staff is the best.

We had 5 crabs crawing up from the drain in the shower, and multiple coach roaches in the room daily, would not recommend family room #3 for sure, also there are spiders hanging down from the bathroom ceiling.

We love Santiago Bay resort. This was our 3rd trip the ocean views are spectacular, swimming in the ocean or pools are nice and staff are amazing. Wonderful massage and everything is affordable. The resort is not as well maintained as our last visit which was disappointing. Transportation was easy to get right outside the entrance of the hotel.
We had to leave early due to family and the resort didn’t respond to Expedia so we could get a refund. Again disappointing. However, we will be back.

Loved the property, disappointed the infinity pool was close, if your looking to stay here for the view from the pool be ware it may be closed. I read other reviews saying the same thing. Also, no WiFi in the rooms if that’s important to you then think twice. Otherwise the second pool on site was good and the food was good at the restaurant. Would recommend this resort.

This property has some spectacular views; overlooking the bay, it really is a showstopper. Another thing that is really good about this resort is its proximity to some really nice beach restaurants/bars below the hotel. Just walk down the resort’s beach access stairway, and you’re mingling with expats and locals alike.

Finally, the staff is very helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend this property enough

Very nice view of Ocean and surrounding venues. In house restaurant served a very good international breakfast and other dining choices. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Beautiful views. Beautiful artistic property art. The only problem is that the property is overun with feral dogs and cats begging for food but so is the entire island.

It was nice stay as we have over looking directly to the ocean its really greay view. We will comeback again soon. The room is spaceous enough for a family and its comfortable foe sleep it is recommended to my friends to come soon in this place.

Beautiful beach, love the way I can walk into the water to get to the public beach area with food stands.

2 pools were great, however I wish I was informed that the big infinity pool is only usable during the weekend. It does not state like that anywhere in the booking page! I was shocked when I heard of that upon checking in (on Wednesday) since it was the biggest point when I decided on this resort. Friday was my check out day, so I could use a bit of it though.

One more mis-information was, they list "Santiago Bay Garden & Resort provides amenities like a hot tub and a restaurant." but they don't have a hot tub. This was also shocking to me, as hot tub is another reason I booked this resort. Upon checking in, I asked for the hot tub location and none of them knew what I was talking about. Disappointed.

Unexpected part was all the noise from public beach's karaoke all night long, but this is not the resort's fault :)

I really enjoyed my 4 night stay at this lovely resort. The view is amazing all around here. The staff were all nice. The 2 pools were good although one is only open Friday til Sunday. This is the best location to stay in Camotes as you have good cheap seafood restaurants on the beach nearby to eat at. The only issue would be wifi is very weak in room. I think it should be good all over this resort to make it perfect.

This property is on Santiago Bay with a large beach area. But, the beach was covered with trash and debris. The rooms were "old and tired" with worn out furniture and fixtures. Room amenities were very limited (two towels, no hair dryer and Internet was only available in the lobby area, etc.). The food and dining options were quite good and the staff were delightful. Himinsulan Beach was a public beach a short drive away with great amenities like floating party houses, snorkeling and friendly staff.

What we love is the Unique landscape and excellent view of the infinity pool.We didnt like about no spare of slippers to be use inside the washroom and no slipers inside the room to avoid the room being dirty and not hygenic. The wifi is not accessible at all except in the lobby and no free bfast.

Wifi did not work. Hotel staff claim it had run out on whole island. This cannot happen and other places had wifi. The hotel simply did not want to increase their data useage before the end of the month. This is unfair on guests visiting later in the month, and unfair on staff who were using their personal data to manage bookings. Secondly the toilet facilities did not flush. Insteas bucket method, which though common in Asia, should not be the case in more luxury places like this. Cheap hostels yes, happy to bucket flush. Expensive hotels, no, not acceptable - plumbing should be better, or the price lower. It was very disheartening to pay so much more and get lesser facilities than a hostel. Also, the expedia rate advertised was around 1900php for a room for three adults. But the rate charged to my card, with no proper warning on booking pages was 2800php. Very unhappy and currently trying to rectify with expedia. Would book elsewhere in island in future and not via expedia again.

2 nights at Santiago Bay

The resort itself is stunning. the location of the rooms facing the beach was very good. you got the nice view for IG. But few things really disappoint me. We reserved 2 Oceanview Family rooms, i was expecting we will get 2 rooms next to each other since we are a group of 7, to my dismay we got end rooms, with 2 other room in between. Another thing is the key of 1 room doesnt fit. We want to go out but we cant lock the door. we ask for assistance but they insisted we have the right key. so we have them tried and it takes about 30 mins before they decided to finally change our key from their master keys. after the Key incident, we never really had problems and enjoyed our 3D2N at Camotes.

We booked 7 months in advance and there was a group of 21 with us and when we arrived the had double booked our rooms and told us our booking was only for 1 night but on the confirmation it had 3 and was told we could be moved to their other resort for no extra cost cause their was a party the following night so we went to the other resort wasnt as nice but that was fine then the next night the party was at the resort we got moved too so if we wanted to chill out of tue night we had to go to the 1st resort
So was not impressed just want to have few drinks then go bed not travel to the other resort have drinks then travel back to the room

The staff was very friendly, cleanest hotel I stayed out while visiting the Philippines. (stayed at 4 hotels). Nice and quiet the whole time we were there. And they stated it was booked full.

Seems like we had the beach to ourselves most of the time,

I'd DEFINATELY stay again, and hopefully stay longer.

Pretty on the eye, but terrible.

Service is bad. No hot water. Safety rails are broken near cliffs edge and danger of falling. Rooms are dirty and over priced. We had a faulty smoke alarm that went off 3 times waking me up and then I told them and they said they will monitor it and fix it. I watched the guy stay for about 2 minutes and then just walk off. It went off another 2 times during the night making my nights sleep poor. They did not care.

Overall very nice stay. The mattresses are terrible, but the room is nice....a beach hotel. The grounds of hotel were very nice wrapping up and down the beach landscape. Food was pretty good at hotel. Need better pizza and burgers. Nice views everywhere and beautiful pool. Not world class, but I would recommend to others.

Hotel was in a good spot overlooking Santiago Bay.
However few things draw me back: no wifi availability on the rooms, hotel does not have any umbrella for the guests (esp if you want to move from one place to another), floors on the hallways tend to be a slippery esp when it rains, no beach beds

they don't answet phone calls, emails, fb chat on Sundays and their reason is because they don't have office work during Sundays. Even hotels.com (which is very helpful for my concerns thanks a lot) can't even contact them. I understand that it may be holiday, they should at least pickup the phone.

Room is just ok, there are some very helpful staff. But the beach is superb. Would stay again only because of its accessibilty to the beach. But will make sure not to check in on Sunday

For the money, it was fine.

Front desk staff acted like we had no reservation on initial arrival when it was booked through Expedia and my fiance verified in advance with them.

The restaurant staff is not friendly at all. The rooms are good considering your on a small island and the price. There is no phone in the room, refrigerator and the mattresses are poor quality but the room is clean.

The AC barely cools the room.

Relax and take in the view

The resort its self was ok for a night or two. I stayed in the cottage for about 3000 php a night. It had good hot water and aircon worked well. There is zero WiFi there there so plan future bookings before you get to Camotes Island. The beach is nice to look at and relax, the water is to shallow to swim

If you have 4 or more use the multicab to get to the resort otherwise the multicab is 200 php a person.
I suggest taking a tour for 1500 php nice day trip to kill time. Overall I recommend this place for first time visitors although Mangodlong rock resort has a breath taking views and the water is clear but deep, not good if you don't know how to swim. If I go back I will stay there.
