The hotel front desk staff are very kind and incredibly helpful. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to center of the old town. So the location was great. The room was hot and I didn’t find a way to regulate the heat but I opened the window and all was well. I would rate this a 3 star hotel, the floors are uneven, which creates a 1/2” small riser both to the bathroom and out the door. And maybe because I am an American, lordy the pillows are loose and mushy…. The breakfast buffet was very nice. The place was clean, I thought it was a non-smoking hotel but someone’s smoking there and I walked into the elevator with a very strong smoke smell. All in all, a decent place with lovely and caring employees.

We only stayed for one night but we had a very friendly welcome at check-in.
The room was equipped in traditional style (don`t expect mordern, reduced room style) and very clean. A bit outdated maybe but as expected from a traditional family owned city-hotel. We booked for breakfast and I have to admit that I haven`t expected such a huge selection buffet breakfast. It was extraordinary considering the price (April 24: 13,50€ per person). The location itself is perfect. In the middle of the city center in walking distance to the Residenz (app. 400m) and the pedestrian zone. The famous \"Bürgerspital\" (vinery, restaurant, wine tastings,...) is just around the corner. The hotel can offer reduced parking fee for the parking garage (50m from the hotel). Not sure if it was because we stayed during the weekend, but the Ludwigstrasse, where the hotel is located, was very quiet with very few traffic. We will definitely come back when we are visiting Würzburg the next time.

Dated room. One socket isn't enough when people need to charge phones. Walls so thin that conversations in the next room can be heard easily - bring ear plugs. Refurbished bathroom was a positive. Expensive room for what it was.

The location is amazing,, the room was clean and quiet and comfortable,, there was no free parking even if they said that in their description,, I parked in a paid parking garage nearby,, you need to book for the breakfast in exact time and that’s possible if you don’t know when you’re going to wake up so I didn’t like that

I had a lovely solo stay at Hotel Amberger. It’s a well-maintained, peaceful, and clean old-style hotel with courteous staff and delicious breakfast. The train station and city centrum are easily accessible on foot in 10-15 min. And I loved that there was a nice Italian restaurant immediately next door that is open daily until 10 pm, past many other restaurants‘ closing times. I think Hotel Amberger may be my favorite of the affordable and centrally located hotels I have tried in Würzburg.

When we checked into the room it was very hot and stuffy. We opened the window and left to explore town. Coming back we had to close the window because of City noise. Immediately the room became hot and stuffy again.
I asked the night porter if ventilation could be improved and he told me that the ventilation system would only be blowing hot air at this time. There was no option to move to a cooler room.
We spent a miserable night in a hot and stuffy room, too noisy outside to keep the window open.
In addition, there was a very noisy party going on all night.
In the morning we went to the reception to check out of the Hotel because we did not want to spend a second sleepless night.
We pointed out that the room was unbearably hot, without any air circulating. The receptionist told us that we should have known that the Hotel does not have air conditioning when we booked the room.
She could not cancel the second night because it was booked through Expedia.
When we mentioned the noisy party, the receptionist told us that we should have complained about this during the night, and that other customers already had complained as well. Besides, she said, the party happened in the building next door and was not their responsibility.
Despite having a night porter, the Hotel management expects guests to find out where noise comes from and how to end it.
Customer service is poor, obviously not a priority in this Hotel.

About a 12-15 min. walk from Main train station. It is within an easy walk to the center of town and other interests, like restaurants and churches, pedestrian shopping, and other areas of interest.
The staff is friendly and available. The room is clean and comfortable. In the heat of late July, they provided a floor fan! It was wonderful!
Breakfast was excellent in its selections and quantity. The dining staff is friendly and provides excellent service. Hot dish requests are also available.
There is a lift and the WLAN (wi-fi) is strong.

Hotel is in easy walking distance of the train station and the centre of town.
We had three bags and a pram with a one year old in and managed the 10 minute walk without too much difficulty from the train.

We stayed in a junior suite on the top floor and had great views from the two windows. The staff had supplied a porta cot ready for our boy and the room had plenty of space available for the cot, our bed and a lot of space for him to play.

At night it was very quiet and we had no issue sleeping. Breakfast was a buffet each morning and all very nice.
There was a lift for easy access to each floor with bags and prams etc, and when we required help from the staff they were very accommodating and always ready to help.

The only negative which would not put us off from staying again is the room was very hot and would have benefited from air conditioning instead of just a fan.

5 out of 5 from us.

Comfortable hotel convient to transportation

Hotel staff were informed and very helpful. Room was spacious and comfortable with the exception of some minor traffic noise. Trams to the city center are nearby as are cafés and other shops. Plenty of off-street parking. Breakfast buffet was very good but dinner buffet could use work...more variety and greater care to avoid overcooked food.

Very convenient location

About 4 blks from town center. Parking garage across the street. Very nice enjoyable small German town. Cafe Michael best cafe we ate at in Germany. Good restaurant next to the bridge, 3rd floor has an entrance onto the bridge. At night there are about 500 people that drink beer and wine on the pedestrian only bridge. The outside 2nd and 3rd floor dining areas have an excellent view of the lite-up Castle on a hill across the river as well as the barge traffic on the river.

We stayed for three nights and were quite happy with our stay. We were very pleasantly surprised when we opened our door and saw a couch, coffee table and chair in a very spacious room. Just nice to have extra room to spread out in. Next pleasant surprise was the bathroom: a double sink with a shelf above large enough to hold all that was necessary. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We had a lovely view from the fifth floor. We found the location just to our liking: close enough to walk to the main attractions (the main square, the bridge, churches, bars and restaurants, etc) but on a quiet tree-lined street. Also appreciated the included breakfast. Nothing fancy, but filling and good.

Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the main train station. A short walk from the residencez palace. Breakfast onsite is included in the room and is a tasty buffet. Hotel allowed us to stop by and drop off our luggage at 0900 before check-in, at this time they also provided us with a map. Wifi is free and works great in the room. There are a few restaurants a short walk away.

The hotel is a pretty standard three star hotel. It's advantage is that the room was quite large, and it has a good location, not far from the rail station and the Residenz (main attraction in Würzburg). The breakfast buffet was nice as well.

The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The hotel was comfortable and very memorable. We caught some rain at night and it was lovely to sit in the window seat area of one of the dormer windows and watch the rain fall with a cup of tea. A very quiet room for a relaxing stay.

Almost perfect

The Hotel Amberger is located near the main theater in Wuerzburg, and within walking distance of the city center. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff is friendly. Also, the breakfast each morning had all the things one would expect from a German hotel. My hotel stay would have been perfect except that the Internet reception in my room on the 5th floor was poor. Thankfully, the staff allowed me to move to the 1st floor after two nights and the Internet reception on the 1st floor was strong.

Sehr schönes und geräumiges Einzelzimmer. Sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet und sehr freundliches Personal. Das Hotel liegt 5 Gehminuten zur Residenz und ca. 15 min zur Alten Mainbrücke. Ebenfalls 15 min. zum Hbf. Man sollte ausser den Würzburger Attraktionen auch eine Schiffsfahrt nach Veitshöchheim unternehmen. Lohnt sich.

Badezimmer war neuer und recht groß (3er Zimmer).
Dachgeschoss bräuchte eine Klimaanlage. War unangenehm heiß.

Kein Highlight, aber würden wieder kommen.

Die Toilette hat nicht unseren Anforderungen entsprochen (Geräusche, Geruch) zudem war ganztägig ein undefinierbares knacken zu hören, was die Erholung und unsere Zufriedenheit gemindert hat.

Das Zimmer war klein und etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Auch das Badezimmer war klein, aber sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet für 13€ war ausreichend, aber nicht mehr. Ich hätte mir zumindest Körnerbrötchen gewünscht - die waren aber wohl schon um 9.30 Uhr morgens aus. Man kann gegen Gebühr im nahegelegenen Theaterparkhaus parken und ist ziemlich schnell zu Fuß in der Innenstadt. Das Hotel ermöglicht einen reduzierten Tagestarif im Parkhaus. Das ist auch nett.

Perfekt gelegenes Hotel für einen Theaterbesuch, oder als Ausgangspunkt in die Stadtmitte. Sehr freundliches Personal. Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber zweckmäßig und sehr sauber. Parkmöglichkeit gibt es im nahegelegenen Parkhaus neben dem Theater für 13€ die Nacht. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Im Sommer zu warm, ansonsten angenehmes Hotel

- hübscher Altbau mit hohen Decken auch im Zimmer
- Innenleben nicht neu, aber sympathisch und gut gepflegt; gemütliche Atmosphäre auf den Zimmern dank Teppich und Holz statt Vinyl und Furnier
- ruhig durch starke Doppelfenster zur Straße sowie eine Doppeltür in Richtung Flur
- Sauberkeit: guter Standard
- bequeme Matratze, angenehme Bettbezüge
- nettes italienisches Restaurant direkt nebenan, ansonsten Snack-/Getränkeautomat im Foyer
- der kleine Kühlschrank im Zimmer gefällt
- Zimmer heizt sich im heißen Würzburger Sommer leider stark auf; an Schlaf ist erst nach Dauerlüften bis zwei, drei Uhr nachts zu denken; Bettdecken sind auch nicht der Jahreszeit angepasst
- In die Fensterrahmen ist eine dreistufige Lüftung verbaut, wodurch man zwar die Außengeräusche aussperren und trotzdem lüften kann, aber leise ist der Lüfter auch nicht.
- Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit
- Zimmerreinigung kommt standardmäßig nicht, lässt sich auf Wunsch aber arrangieren
- Frühstück nicht zu beurteilen, da nicht gebucht

The hotel is close to the center, very close to the Residenz (palace). There is a bus stop close by but it is also possible to walk from the center in 15 minutes. We had a room with three beds, it was very large and nice with a good view (it was on the 5th floor) and complimentary coffee. It was nicer than expected. Breakfast was very good and worth its price, with some table service and partly buffet.Staff was nice and friendly.

im Zimmer stand bei der Ankunft noch ein drittes Bett, das wir entfernen ließen,
die Waschbecken könnten sauberer sein,

Sauber, freundlich, bequem

Freundlich an der Rezeption, ordentliches und sauberes Zimmer, modernes Bad, Dusche mit ausreichend Wasserdruck und eine bequeme Matratze sind die positiven Dinge. Negativ war, das es sehr heiß im Zimmer war. Gut geschlafen habe ich aber trotzdem. Ich gehe da gern wieder hin.

Even if was under \"corona-conditions\" the service and breakfast was poor.

No aircondition in room only a fan, and when your getting a room just under the roof its pretty hot and and its difficult to get a normal nights sleep.

Das Zimmer lag offensichtlich in unmittelbarer Nähe des Klimaanlagen-Aggregates, daher bei offenem Fenster sehr laut, bei geschlossenem Fenster aber zu heiß

Sehr gutes Hotel

Warmes, schönes Zimmer, alles top sauber. Mir haben die roten Vorhänge und der ebenso in rot gehaltene Teppich gut gefallen. Die Betten waren angenehm und wir konnten gut schlafen. Das Frühstück war lecker und die Auswahl absolut zufriedenstellend. Nur die Dusche war etwas rutschig. Vom Stil her 70er Jahre, also keine topmoderne Einrichtung, was mir persönlich aber egal ist. Zentrum und Bahnhof zu Fuß erreichbar. Ach ja, eine Kleinigkeit vielleicht....wir waren zu zweit und es gab nur einen Zahnbecher. Aber wenns weiter nichts ist.....würde wiederkommen.
