Very good breakfast and service. For thos reason I would return possibly. Rooms are okay. The let down is the carpark, so tight you have to be a precision driver not to damage your or other cars and it costs per night for that privilege. No restaurant on site, just basic snacks.

Good place to stay in Wurzburg as it is very central. Down sides are them charging 18€ for parking and if you want their buffet breakfast it is €23 pretty person! We walked back into town and found a good cafe instead.

Last minute reservation. Great location within a few minutes walk of pedestrian bridge to view historical landmarks. Parking onsite was super convenient. If you end up with a room near the elevators you could have a lot of noise in the morning with cleaning staff….

Well priced hotel in a good location.

We had a very good 2 night stay at the hotel. Comfortable clean room. Our only problem was a noisy radiator. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is in a great location for walking into Würzburg for sightseeing and eating/drinking. We were able to park in the hotel car park for free which was very kind of the receptionist. Good value hotel for such a central location with parking.

travelling the romantic route

Stayed one night whilst travelling the romantic route. We had an issue when we first got there as we traveled by motorcycle, it is a large touring bike which is very heavy especially with paneers full. When we arrived we went down the ramp to park and the barrier would not come up, staff had to call through the window to ask if we could try to get past the barrier at the side and they would open garage doors. We could not do this so had to try to get the bike back up the ramp! You can’t reverse like a car so my husband had to try to push and I had to pull from behind, it was not a good start to our trip, if it’s broken either fix it or put a sign on it to let people know it’s out of use!! We chose this hotel specifically because it had parking! It was a very hot day and spoilt the start of our holiday. The room was very clean with comfortable bed but very basic, no complimentary toiletries and no tea facilities. It didn’t detract from our stay, good location to the city, five minutes walk and we had an enjoyable stay, staff were very friendly and it served its purpose as an overnight stay.

This location is just a couple blocks from the foot bridge to old town, and right at the steps leading up to the fortress.

The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again if I return.

Great stay! A real surprise. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. They speak English. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The location is great! Just down the street from the bridge to old town, and very near the footpath to the fortress. Parking is available at the hotel. It is snug and a bit odd on metal lifts.

The hotel was nice enough. It was a 10 minute walk to the town so we weren’t in the heart of the city. The walk was fine though. The rooms are small and there was no bar fridge however the staff were more than friendly and helpful. I would recommend it.

Nice basic hotel with easy walking distance to the centre. The outside (cheaper) car park was a bit tight to get in and out of but there is a more expensive covered car park. As with most German hotels, the pillows were flat, lacking in packing and hurt my neck.

superb location but no view

In fact I could have great time as had spent most time out of hotel.
Hotel location was great to me, close to everything (in fact Würzburg old city is small, all walking distance)... especially when I was there, Summer fair was just next to the hotel, could enjoy every night with my son there.
Clean hotel, nice breakfast... sweet staffs.
Only wish was... little bit more of space in the room.
Still... overall... nice hotel.

Mercure is not always Mercure

After our weekend at the Mercure Hotel Stuttgart we were sure to have made the right decision.
But we realized fast this was wrong.
Already our first contact with the rather unfriendly employees was a disappointment.
And it didn't get any better. The rooms were so small we could barely move and there was a really bad smell in the bathroom.

Wonderful hotel

One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in and I live in America and spent nine years in Germany. The rooms though small was very comfortable and exceptionally clean. The hotel has a breakfast bar that is second to none, you can join a club for free which gives you a discount to the breakfast price. The hotel is centrally located to all the attractions in Wurzburg we stay two nights and I would love to stay there again if you stay there you can't go wrong

Overall, a pleasant stay. We had a modern room, a bit small, but functional. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only problem was the limited number of outside parking spaces. One person took two spaces, and we were forced to park in the garage, at double the rate. Also, the hotel is a bit far from the Residenz, if it is raining. If the weather is clear, the walk would not be too far. And no restaurants in the close proximity to the hotel

A lovely surprise.

We booked a privilege room, for three people. It was spacious, even with the sofa bed made up, clean and modern. The room had complementary Nespresso machine, kettle, tea/coffee, and bottles of water. Enough towels and plenty of toiletries. Location is excellent, alongside the river, 5 mins walk from the 'Alte Mainbrucke' and town centre. We had just booked one night as a stopover, wished we had stayed longer. Excellent all round.

only stayed overnight on the way to somewhere else. its on the opposite side of the river from the main town however only takes about 5 minutes to walk into town. reception spoke good english and were able to advise on parking places, and give directions to where we wanted to go. very comfortable bed leading to a good night sleep. good bathroom facilities. free wifi, or internet connection to plug in. coffee and tea facilities in the room with a bottle of water supplied. didnt have breakfast due to an early start the next day but was also 16 euro's per person.

Good four star hotel in that neighbourhood

We stayed five nights in this hotel and didn't have anything to complain about it. The condition of the hotel is good, had a modern setting compare to other hotels in the area. Staff were helpful. The only downside is there is no mini-bar / refrigerator in the room.

Great value for money Hotel

We weren't expecting too much from the Hotel Mercure as we managed to get a room for the bargain price of £50 per night. We were very pleasantly surprised. We have stayed in many German hotels as our son lives there, so we might have known that this hotel would be spotlessly clean, functional, well equipped with friendly staff for which nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is a very nice stroll across a beautiful bridge into the centre of Wurezburg, where you find lots of shops and restaurants, both very traditional, and modern. We went out for breakfast one morning, there is lots of choice in Wurezburg if you don't fancy a hotel breakfast, the second morning we decided to stay in the hotel. I think we all know that hotel breakfasts are generally overpriced, and at 16 euro this is no exception. However, there was a fantastic choice of hot and cold food, and the quality was very high.It's probably one of the more memorable hotel breakfasts we've had, and there have been many! I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family, and will return if we go back to Wuerzburg.

Good Location - Nice Modern Hotel

We enjoyed a night here recently as we toured part of Germany. This is a delightful town and worthy of a longer visit. The hotel is nice and modern although the rooms are not large. It is a comfortable walking distance from the centre of the town where there are plenty of attractions to visit as well as cafes and restaurants. The breakfast at this hotel was wonderful - a lovely selection served in a sunny room at the front of the hotel.

Like the other reviews we did not eat breakfast at the hotel and the cafe on the corner of the bridge was fabulous and very much worth the value. Wonderful for sight-seeing and transport links.

Wuerzburg was a wonderful trip - the hotel was excellent.Staff were welcoming and eager to assisit and highly efficient. The location of the hotel was ideal as we were travelling by train. The Hotel is located on a quiet road parallel with the river and alongside the promenade. On turning right at the main entrance, within a few minutes, you are on the Alte Mainbrucke, a pedestrainised bridge leading directly to the town centre.(Shops, Rathaus, Museums, Dom and Residence).
On leaving the hotel and going in the oppositedirection, within about 2-3 minutes, you reach the Tram stop - nos.2 or 4 go directly to the Hauptbanhof. ( It is also possible to walk along the main road or else use the path in the park which is parallel to the main rather busy road
The town, typical of so many, has a large number of small shops, a major store and many eating places.Some of the later are inexpensive and the Ratskeller proved to be a favourite.
Sigt-seeing is very straightforward and aas with many towns in the area, a visit to the local Tourist Office , in the Domplatz will yield a host of possibilities.

We should definitely return to this Hotel for its convenience as well as its ambience and comfort. The breakfast served as a buffet had a wonderful selection of courses/teas and coffees, and we ususally devoted the best part of an hour for this leisurely start to the day.
