Outstanding service from all the staff - from the front desk, to housekeeping, and the dutiful restaurant staff. The rooftop restaurant (Lampara) served delicious food and the wait staff were excellent. Our room, overlooking the sea and the Castelo, was spacious.

The location of the hotel is good and it has a great view of the castle and it is in a convenient location. As for this being a 5 star hotel, it is definitely not! The rooms are small, there is very little space to move around the room, even the larger rooms. The bathroom is small and badly designed, furniture is outdated, toiletries are nonexistent and limited number of towels. We continuously had to call to ask to conditioner, lotion and wash cloths.
The breakfast had a great selection and the waiters were very friendly and accommodating. The front desk staff was quite the opposite. Also for a 5 star hotel you would think they provide water free of charge as the water there is not drinkable, but they don’t and they expect you to pay $5/bottle. I would not stay there again, as they need to make a lot of improvements to become a 5 star hotel.

My stay was excellent, the room was spotless, and the staff in this hotel is topnotch. I loved interacting with Daniele at the reception and Antonio, breakfast, was incredible. Everyone is great.

There's an inside heated pool in the hotel and there's another hotel around the corner with a thermal water pool that guests from Miramare e Castello can use - I did!

My room had ocean view and I could see the castle too. I got some fantastic photos at night.

The hotel is walking distance to the port, beach, Aragonese Castle and more.

The only thing I did not like much was my mattress, but I think having harder mattresses is an Italian thing. I found the same on other hotels.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Far from the port, but very walkable to the castle (15 mins) & there’s a cute pedestrian area with shops & restaurants on the way. The hotel was very nice with beautiful views, a private beach, & an excellent breakfast (plus, a bar and another restaurant, although we didn’t stay long enough to try them). If we come back, I would stay here again!

The hotel is beautiful and right on the waterfront. It is in walking distance to the bus stop and many shops and restaurants.
The hotel also has a wonderful breakfast buffet with excellent service.
I also appreciate the small gym at the very top floor, that has an incredible view.
Staff were very helpful, and i was always greeted and treated with respect.

Unfortunately, our experience at Miramare E Castello did not live up to our expectations. While the hotel has potential, several aspects of our stay left much to be desired. The hotel is very outdated and not accurate to its pictures online. For the amount we paid, it felt like we were deceived. However, the beach is right outside the hotel and the staff were lovely.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time... The hotel is very sensely located and a 5 minute taxi ride away from the port. FYI taxi to the hotel is 20 euros. Hotel is beautiful and has a classy old timey feel with modern updates.
Reception was fantastic and so helpful... They arranged a scooter for us for 35 Euros for 24 hours, suggested restaurants, booked the spa for me via phone...

Welcome bottle of prosecco and sweets was very kind.
The room was beautiful and spacious, well appointed with a large bathroom. The bed was not very comfortable but everything was very very clean. We had a room overlooking the water and a private patio which was beautiful!
We cross the street to the sister hotel and took a dip in the thermal bath... The water was very nice but not as hot as I was expecting. Had a massage in a spa which was fine.
Breakfast buffet both mornings was wonderful! Huge spread of foods from savory to sweet, fresh juices, prosecco, coffee to order...

Highlight of our stay was Agostano and Gerardo in the bar. They really made our trip so lovely! Agostano is a wealth of knowledge and experience and so warm and kind. Both gentlemen were utmost professionals in hospitality in general and hoteling and bartending. Their knowledge of mixology was astounding.

The entire staff was extremely professional and knowledgeable and showed us the true meaning of hospitality.

This hotel was delightful! The location was spectacular. We had fabulous views of the sea and the Costello Aragonese. We were able to walk into town for shopping and restaurants. But the restaurant at the hotel was excellent. Only tip- if you want a table closest to the water- make that request before you arrive. We never did get one for dinner.

Our room, and particularly the view from our private corner balcony, was spectacular! It blew away anything we've ever had anywhere. The rest of the property was truly luxurious as well. Only complaint is that the shower (which was also luxurious) drainage was not well designed and the drain slow/semi-clogged as well, so the water overflowed throughout the entire bathroom and even into the living room area of the suite! It's hard to believe that they weren't aware of this problem although the front desk insisted that they were unaware (and unapologetic).

The hotel lounge area is very nice and breakfast selection is good.

However, the rooms are tiny, barely any space to move around, and they are in dire need of redecoration. The electronics in particular need to be modernised completely. The room was extremely hot and the AC too old to do anything. Sleep was difficult because of the heat.

Beautiful location and hotel. A little dated in some parts, but excellent overall. Would have liked to see some mesh nets to be able to leave the window open and hear the sound of the sea. Worth the value and exactly we were hoping to get from booking here. It is a bit far from the ferry port if you are only here for a night, cost 20 Euros just for a short tax ride but yet it is not walkable with luggage. If you are hopping along the islands and the Amalfi coast then I would recommend staying closer to ferry/train/bus connection areas. If you REALLY want to stay in Ischia for 3 days, then yea this is a pretty good place.

Room with terrace was wonderful. Great view, spacious and loved the welcome bottle of Prosecco and cookies. Water presume was fabulous, large bathtub/shower, and wall mounted hair dryer was nice to have. Small refrigerator which was stocked with water, cokes, and juices. Almost blackout shades were nice because sun rises early! La Lampara restaurant was great and the breskfast buffet was out of this world! Incredible! Service was welcoming and accommodating . The views were fantastic, too. It was a fantastic experience and I would love to stay here again!

This hotel is rated as five star, that’s a joke, it’s barely a 3 star. It hasn’t been renovated in 40 years, if ever. Everything about it including bath fixtures, plugs, furniture is super dated. The hair dryer is from the 70s barely blows cold air. The main lobby and dining room are decent. They had nerve to charge extra for omelet, never saying it wasn’t part of breakfast. Breakfast itself was mediocre at best.

The only positive thing is view of castle and beach location. 10 mnt walk to town with shops and restaurants

If you’re looking for 5 star hotel, this isn’t it.

We stayed in 2 hotels on Ischia and the Miramare E Castello was by far the best, amazing in fact. We went during the Italian August holiday week so every where was incredibly busy but within the hotel particularly during the evening it was a beautiful sanctuary. The location is perfect being very near to the church and restaurants, the service was exceptional, staff were accommodating and pleasant which was a refreshing change to the service we received outside of the hotel. The roof top hot tub and bathing area were really quiet compared to the beach below and we couldn't believe we had the terrace to ourselves the majority of the time. Yes it is expensive but worth it. The restaurant on the beach had delicious food, probably one of the best steaks I have had. The views were stunning. We are planning another trip to the island during a quieter time and we will only stay at this hotel. Tip if you are going to Ischia during August book your restaurants in advance.

Four Star Hotel On The Beach.

The restaurant staff were all amazing. This Hotel is a four star hotel. The location is right on the Sea; the waves almost come right up to the hotel. The air conditioning system is extremely loud; and you cannot set a specific temperature. The rooms are so so so very tiny. The hairdryers need to be replaced; maybe 30-40 years old. Spectacular views from the roof top of the hotel. Outside Jacuzzis are cold. We had a nice stay overall. The restaurant downstairs: excellent food presentation, superb service, Food was all delicious and very tasty desserts

Miramare E Castello - A Favorite of Ours

My girlfriend and I stayed at Miramare E Castello Hotel in Ischia in June 2019 and we loved it. It’s in a really good location with a stunning view. The service from the staff was extremely helpful, very friendly and informative. It’s beautiful day or night to sit out by the sea with a great view of the castle and just enjoy life. My only regret is that we did not stay long in beatiful Ischia.

Also, if you do stay at this property, there is a water taxi outside. It’s $85 euro to take it around to the beach town of Sant’Angelo. I can’t recommend doing this enough.

Ideally located within 20 mins walk of the ferry port. Shops bars restaurants all located nearby. Lots of different sunbathing options and no fighting for abed. Loved having breakfast right by the sea and the staff were amazing, carrying your breakfast choice outside to your table. Lots of different things for breakfast and of good quality. Particularly liked the bar at night time. It felt classy and homily and again the staff were amazing. On the Thursday and Friday nights a chap sang and played the piano and added to our enjoyment. Would love to come back

Worked well for us

The hotel is well positioned for Ischia Ponte, though a bit of a walk (about 25 minutes) from Ischia Porto. We didn’t find this a problem, but it did add a final tiring leg when we returned from ferry trips (though we could have used a bus or taxi if things got desperate).

The proximity to the sea is used to good effect, and we enjoyed breakfasts and occasional lunches and dinners within a couple of metres of the waves.

We found the hotel standard was high, though not at the same level as other 5-star hotels. There was some evidence of a lack of attention to maintenance (worn stairs carpets, not entirely clean jacuzzis) and at the same time more attention than we really wanted in the restaurant. The waiters were very friendly and helpful, however, and the same was true of
the cleaners.

The food in the downstairs restaurant (we didn’t try the rooftop one) was very good on the three occasions we had dinner there. Breakfasts were also very good.

We were upgraded to a room with a balcony on the side from which the sea could be seen. It looked like this gave us some extra space inside, and I do wonder whether the standard room we had booked might have been a little pokey. The bed was very comfortable, and though the air conditioning was a little noisy we slept well. The only alcoholic drink in the mini bar was Campari and soda, and there were no diet versions of soft drinks. Some beer would have been nice.

Overall, the hotel worked well for us.

Amazing. Brst holiday I have had in years. Loved the modern chic outdoors of this hotel. Thought on initial impression that the hotel interiers looked a bit tired. However, I eas wrong to change this traditional Italian island feel would not be in keeping with this wonderful island. The staff gave 110% at all times. Loved it and will be back.

Great Hotel, Great Town

This hotel is located right on the ocean and very close to a castle (walking distance). After taking the high speed ferry (hydrofoil) from Sorrento, we arrived an hour later at Ischia Porto and took a short cab ride to the Miramare E Castello Hotel. We were able to walk to the centre of this town where there are lots of shops and great restaurants. We also visited one of the thermal parks which was a really nice experience.
This island is a nice place to visit if you want a slower pace and there are 4 other little town one can visit as well as a beautiful botanical garden called La Mortella. There is a bus service but cabs can take you wherever you want to go.

The Hotel was a total surprise, the reviews I had read did not do it justice. The staff were so welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. I had a wonderful stay, service, staff, food facilities could not be surpassed.
I will definitely stay here again in the near future.

If you’re looking for a hotel room the size of a closet, this is the place for you.. Room is a bed, and maybe 2 extra feet. Barely enough space to get dressed. Selected a room with a garden view which turned out to be the vacant lot next to the hotel where there’s 3 trees and a car parking lot. As a younger American, my spouse and I didn’t feel welcome at this hotel which is rare for travel in Europe.

Top quality hotel in great location

Excellent hotel, fabulous breakfast included (pretty much anything you can think of and a basket of gluten free alternative breads and pastries for my other half).
Super nice touches like chocolates on the pillows each day.
Great location near the castle and right on the water front.
Only a 15-20 min walk to the port.
Lovely staff who couldn't be nicer.
Great indoor pool, sauna and steam room plus treatments if you want them.

Just terrible

This hotel does not have five star facilities. Only five star prices. You are a captive audience ready to be financially milked throughout your stay. Five euros for a bottle of water, sixteen euros for a rum and coke. There is no iron in any of the rooms, according to the staff it's illegal to have one in a hotel room in Italy! However they are willing to charge in excess of ten euros, per ITEM, to iron your clothes for you. How convenient. They will not allow any food or wine from outside the building into the hotel in case it damages the furnishings. However you can take red wine up to your room if you purchase it from the bar. There is also a room service menu and you can have lobster for one hundred and thirty euros.... The management are impeccably rude if you question these prices. If you are not wealthy enough to pay them without flinching you are quite clearly not welcome. The 'five star' spa is just hilarious. A cold pool, a warmish Jacuzzi with pitifully mediocre water jets... A small guppie blowing bubbles would be an improvement. The steam room is a dark stone, damp smelling cave with multicoloured lights that squeak with effort as they change colour and the sauna is the size of a wardrobe......genuinely! Two people was a squeeze. We finished up in fits of giggles after working our way around the facilities. If you have a good sense of humour, go, if you spend your money more wisely, give it a miss!

Impeccable location

The hotel located perfectly, has panoramic sea and Aragon Castel views. Facilities of the hotel are amazing: roof restaurant, indoor and outdoor pools, two hot tabs, thermal pool in the sister hotel and the private beach.

Amazing Hotel!

It was our first time in Ischia and th hotel made our experience memorable. Our room was fabulous, the staff were all very attentive to our needs, and the location was perfect!

Restaurants, sites, beautiful pedestrian concourse right to the port, the view of the castle from beautiful terrace and their culinary offerings were amazing!

I have to thank the staff as they went above and beyond to help us with a piece of luggage that we forgot at the hotel. We were already on the hydrofoil to Naples port when we remembered. I called the hotel immideiately and they were very responsive. They recommended that I wait at the port in Naples and they would arrange to have the luggage put on the next hydrofoil from Ischia to Naples where we could retreive it before going to the train station. Sure enough, it was on the next hydrofoil and the porter on our end went on board and retreived it for us. When I called them back to thank them and asked them to charge the cost, they commented that it was their pleasure to assist us and happy that we got our luggage.

I will never forget their generosity and truly would recommend this hotel.

Amazing 4 night stay

Very attentive staff see to every need promptly. Bar and restaurant a bit overpriced but breakfast is amazing, and so is the spa! Double bed was just 2 singles pushed together, and they kept drifting apart but bedding was really comfy though!

Perfct location, great stay

Right by the Aragonese castle, great restaurants and some shops. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast, small private beach and fantastic rooftop jacuzzi!

Beautiful resort in front of beach

Perfect location, minutes walk to Castello Aragonese, right smack in front of beach. Very mindful and attentive waiters at breakfast, particularly one of them who called for doctor as he conscientiously spotted that I was unwell. Apart from maybe one or two male reception staff who were not that friendly, I would say the rest of them were top notch in service. Overall nice hotel, good choice we've made.

Good hotel. Bad management

We were only spending one night there to end our tour of the coast. We were informed on our arrival of a gala taking place. It was an FYI. By 5 o'clock we were kicked off the private beach and were not even able to use pool or lower solarium. Fine. When we came back from our dinner our only option was to go back to our tiny \"superior\" room.
The next day I asked the mangement why no one told me about the ristrctions to the hotel. Her answer. \" well. I don't know it was a great party\" too bad we weren't invited. Not even a bar comp or an apology. Lack of class I'd say.

Wonderfully wonderful; location, staff and ambienc

Small hotel with a big heart! The hotel is located on the beach but near shopping and the water taxi which is crucial for getting around the island. The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly. Agustino in the bar and Vito on the piano gave it that \"Casablanca\" feeling. The food was local and flavorful, especially the lemon tagliolini!
We plan to return to Ischia and the Miremare Hotel soon.
